- An extruded sheet is a sheet obtained by extruding a mixture from a T-die or the like to a target thickness, and then drying it to a target moisture content.
- pressing and extrusion may be combined. For example, the mixture may be extruded and then further pressed to form a sheet.
- Figure 1 is a block diagram showing each step in the method for manufacturing a pressure-formed sheet.

- the mixture preparation step 101, the wet sheet preparation step 102, and the wet sheet drying step 103 correspond to steps 1 to 3 described above, respectively. Details of these steps 1 to 3 are described below.
- Process 1 the tobacco material is kneaded with a medium. Pulp, binder, aerosol-generating base material, emulsifier, or flavoring may also be added as needed. The amount of each component is adjusted to achieve the desired content in the pressure-molded sheet described below.
- the medium is preferably primarily composed of a water-soluble organic solvent with a boiling point below 100°C, such as water or ethanol, more preferably water or ethanol, and most preferably water.
- This step can be carried out by kneading the components, but is preferably carried out through 1) grinding the raw material (for example, single leaves), 2) preparing a wet powder, and 3) kneading.
- 1) Pulverization It is preferable to roughly crush the raw material and then finely pulverize it using a pulverizer (e.g., Condux 220 manufactured by NETZSCH). The particle size D90 after fine pulverization will be described later.
- wet Powder Additives such as pulp, binder, flavoring, and lipids are added to and mixed with ground tobacco raw material (e.g., leaf tobacco particles) as needed. This mixing is preferably a dry blend, and a mixer (e.g., Kawata Super Mixer) is preferably used as the mixer.
- a medium such as water, and optionally an aerosol-generating base such as glycerin, are added to the dry blend and mixed in the mixer to prepare a wet powder (wet powder).
- the amount of medium in the wet powder is preferably 20 to 40% by weight, but is appropriately adjusted in step 2. For example, if compression is performed in step 2, the amount of medium can be 15 to 50% by weight, and if extrusion is performed, the amount can be 20 to 80% by weight.
- the solids concentration of the wet powder is preferably 50 to 90% by weight.
- Kneading Step 1 may include kneading at least the tobacco material and the medium in a single-screw or multi-screw kneader (e.g., manufactured by Comas). Kneading is preferably carried out until the medium is distributed throughout the mixture, for example, until the color of the mixture is visually uniform.
- a single-screw or multi-screw kneader e.g., manufactured by Comas.
- the mixture (wet powder) is flattened or extruded through a die to prepare a wet sheet.

- the "gap between final rollers ( ⁇ m)" in the Examples described below corresponds to the gap between the final rollers (just before entering the drying step of step 3) when there are multiple sets of pairs of rollers.
- Process 3 the wet sheet is dried.
- a mesh conveyor carrying the wet sheet is run through a drying oven, and hot air is blown onto the conveyor from above and below, thereby drying the wet sheet.
- a belt conveyor carrying the wet sheet may be used.

- the structure of the filter portion 20C is arbitrary, and may be a structure having multiple segments as described above, or may be composed of a single segment.
- the filter portion 20C may also be composed of a single segment. In this case, the filter portion 20C may be composed of either the first segment or the second segment.
- the connecting portion 20B is cylindrical. It has a cardboard tube 23 formed into a cylindrical shape using, for example, cardboard.
- the connecting portion 20B may be filled with a cooling material for cooling the aerosol. Examples of the cooling material include a sheet of a polymer such as polylactic acid, which can be folded and filled.
- a support portion may be provided between the tobacco segment 20A and the connecting portion 20B to prevent the position of the tobacco segment 20A from shifting.
- the support portion may be made of a known material, such as a center hole filter like the first segment 25.
- the wrapper 28 is wrapped around the tobacco segment 20A, connecting portion 20B, and filter portion 20C in a cylindrical shape, connecting them together.
- One surface (inner surface) of the wrapper 28 is coated entirely or almost entirely with a vinyl acetate emulsion adhesive, except for the area near the ventilation holes 24.
- the multiple ventilation holes 24 are formed by laser processing from the outside after the tobacco segment 20A, connecting portion 20B, and filter portion 20C have been integrated by the wrapper 28.
- the ventilation hole section 24 has two or more through holes that penetrate the connecting section 20B in the thickness direction.
- the two or more through holes are arranged radially when viewed from an extension of the central axis of the flavor inhalation article 20.
- the ventilation hole section 24 is provided in the connecting section 20B, but may also be provided in the filter section 20C.
- the two or more through holes of the ventilation hole section 24 are arranged in a row at a fixed interval on one ring, but may also be arranged in two rows at a fixed interval on two rings, or one or two rows of ventilation hole sections 24 may be arranged discontinuously or irregularly.

- the mixture (wet powder) obtained as described above was fed into an extruder (manufactured by Comas) and kneaded to prepare a kneaded mixture (wet powder).
- the kneaded mixture (wet powder) was then extruded into a plate using the extruder.
- the plate-shaped mixture was pressed to the specified thickness using a laminator (manufactured by Comas) to obtain a wet sheet.
- the laminator was equipped with three sets of roller pairs, and pressing was performed in three stages.
- the gap between the final (third stage) rollers was set as shown in Table 1.
