Definitions
- This disclosure relates to a receiver used in a refrigeration cycle.
- Patent Document 1 discloses a receiver in which a desiccant unit filled with a desiccant is placed inside a refrigerant container that stores the refrigerant.
- Patent Document 1 the inflowing refrigerant is released above the desiccant unit, and after passing through the desiccant unit, the inflowing refrigerant flows down along the inner wall of the refrigerant container. This causes air bubbles to separate as the refrigerant flows down, slows the speed at which the inflowing refrigerant collides with the refrigerant liquid surface, and reduces the amount of air bubbles generated during the collision, thereby improving gas-liquid separation efficiency.
- the desiccant unit and the liquid refrigerant reservoir in order to increase the gas-liquid separation efficiency, the desiccant unit and the liquid refrigerant reservoir must be arranged in series vertically, and the distance between the desiccant unit and the refrigerant liquid surface must be increased.
- the receiver in this case, the receiver must be elongated in height, which can reduce the mountability when installing the refrigeration cycle in a vehicle, for example.
- a refrigeration cycle when used to regulate the temperature of a secondary battery, it may be used in an operating mode that rapidly increases the amount of refrigerant circulating, such as for rapid charging of the secondary battery.
- the amount of refrigerant circulating increases in this way, the refrigerant liquid level in the receiver becomes disturbed, which can easily reduce the gas-liquid separation performance, making it necessary to improve the gas-liquid separation performance of the receiver.
- the present disclosure aims to improve gas-liquid separation performance while reducing the height of a receiver for a refrigeration cycle.
- a first aspect of the present disclosure is a receiver for use in a refrigeration cycle, comprising a container, a refrigerant inlet passage, a refrigerant outlet passage, and a straightening plate.
- the container has at least one refrigerant storage section capable of storing gas phase refrigerant and liquid phase refrigerant therein.
- the refrigerant inlet passage has an inlet for allowing refrigerant to flow into the container.
- the refrigerant outlet passage has an outlet for allowing refrigerant to flow out from the container.
- the straightening plate is provided to equalize the flow rate of the refrigerant that flows from the inlet into the refrigerant storage section.
- the inlet, outlet, and straightening vane are located below the refrigerant liquid level in the refrigerant storage section.
- the straightening vane is located between the inlet and the refrigerant liquid level in the refrigerant storage section, where the outlet is located.
- the refrigerant reservoir can separate the refrigerant that flows into the receiver into gas and liquid using a straightening vane, and can also stabilize the refrigerant liquid level to suppress the generation of bubbles.
- gas-liquid separation performance can be improved without increasing the size of the receiver. In other words, improved gas-liquid separation performance can be achieved while reducing the size of the receiver in the vertical direction.
- a second aspect of the present disclosure is a receiver for use in a refrigeration cycle, comprising a container, a refrigerant inlet passage, and a refrigerant outlet passage.
- the container has multiple refrigerant storage sections capable of storing gas-phase refrigerant and liquid-phase refrigerant therein.
- the refrigerant inlet passage has an inlet port through which refrigerant flows into the container.
- the refrigerant outlet passage has an outlet port through which refrigerant flows out of the container.
- the multiple refrigerant storage sections include at least a first refrigerant storage section and a second refrigerant storage section.
- the first refrigerant storage section and the second refrigerant storage section are arranged side by side in the horizontal direction, and their interiors are connected by a communication section.
- the inlet is located in the first refrigerant storage section, and the outlet is located in the second refrigerant storage section.
- the distance from the inlet to the outlet can be increased without increasing the height of the receiver. This allows the inlet and outlet to be positioned farther apart, lengthening the time it takes for the two-phase refrigerant to separate into gas and liquid. As a result, the receiver's height can be reduced while improving gas-liquid separation performance.

- the container 300 is provided with a straightening plate 308.
- the straightening plate 308 is a gas-liquid separation plate that separates the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant that flows into the first refrigerant storage section 302 into gas and liquid.
- the rectifying plate 308 it is desirable to use a material that will not corrode or crack due to the refrigerant or refrigeration oil, such as a metal or resin material.
- a punched material e.g., punched metal
- through holes 308a formed by punching is preferably used.
- FIGS 4 to 7 show specific examples of the rectifying plate 308.
- the rectifying plate 308 is a porous body with a large number of through-holes 308a formed therein, through which the refrigerant can pass.
- the shape of the through-holes 308a of the rectifying plate 308 can be set as desired. Possible shapes for the through-holes 308a include a circular shape as shown in Figure 4, an elliptical shape as shown in Figure 5, a rounded rectangular shape as shown in Figure 6, and a rectangular shape as shown in Figure 7.
- the rectifying plate 308 is disposed between the inlet passage outlet 306b and the refrigerant liquid level RS of the refrigerant storage section 302, in which the outlet passage inlet 307a is provided.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b and the outlet passage inlet 307a are provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302, and the rectifying plate 308 is provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306, the refrigerant outlet passage 307, and the rectifying plate 308 are provided in a single refrigerant storage section 302.
- the outer periphery of the rectifying plate 308 is in contact with the inner wall side surface 300e of the first refrigerant storage section 302, and the rectifying plate 308 is fixed to the inner wall side surface 300e of the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the liquid phase refrigerant stored in the first refrigerant storage section 302 is separated into upper and lower sections by the rectifying plate 308.
- the flow rectifying plate 308 is disposed below the refrigerant liquid level RS of the first refrigerant reservoir 302 .
- the rectifying vane 308 in the first embodiment is arranged so as to intersect with the central axis direction of the first refrigerant storage portion 302.
- the rectifying vane 308 is a plate-like member having a plate surface of the same shape as a cross section perpendicular to the central axis of the first refrigerant storage portion 302.
- the cross section perpendicular to the central axis of the first refrigerant storage portion 302 is circular, and the rectifying vane 308 is a circular plate-like member.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 passes through the rectifying plate 308, and the inlet passage outlet 306b of the refrigerant inlet passage 306 is located below the rectifying plate 308.
- the outlet passage inlet 307a of the refrigerant outlet passage 307 is located above the rectifying plate 308.
- the rectifying plate 308 is located between the inlet passage outlet 306b and the outlet passage inlet 307a. Therefore, the refrigerant that flows into the first refrigerant storage section 302 from the inlet passage outlet 306b can flow into the outlet passage inlet 307a after passing through the rectifying plate 308.
- the refrigerant that flows into the first refrigerant storage section 302 from the inlet passage outlet 306b passes through the straightening plate 308, reducing its flow rate. This prevents the refrigerant from spraying onto the refrigerant liquid surface RS at the outlet passage inlet 307a, thereby preventing bubbles from forming.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b is located near the bottom surface 300d of the container 300, so the straightening plate 308 and outlet passage inlet 307a can be positioned as low as possible in the container 300. This makes it possible to separate the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant into gas and liquid even when the amount of refrigerant in the first refrigerant storage section 302 is small, improving the gas-liquid separation performance of the receiver 30.
- the through-holes 308a of the straightening plate 308 have a narrow opening area, so fluids with low resistance can pass through more easily.
- Liquid-phase refrigerant has a density approximately 10 times greater than gas-phase refrigerant. Therefore, when the mass flow rate of the liquid-phase refrigerant passing through the through-holes 308a is constant, the flow velocity of the liquid-phase refrigerant is lower than that of the gas-phase refrigerant, resulting in less resistance. As a result, the straightening plate 308 can separate gas and liquid due to the difference in resistance between the liquid-phase refrigerant and the gas-phase refrigerant.
- the flow velocity of the refrigerant decreases after passing through the straightening plate 308. This prevents the flow of refrigerant that has passed through the straightening plate 308 from disturbing the refrigerant liquid surface RS and generating bubbles, thereby improving gas-liquid separation performance.
- the rectifying plate 308 in order to improve the gas-liquid separation performance of the rectifying plate 308 , it is important to make the flow velocity of the refrigerant uniform by the rectifying plate 308 and to suppress pressure loss caused by the rectifying plate 308 . In order to make the flow velocity of the refrigerant uniform and further reduce the pressure loss caused by the rectifying plate 308, it is desirable to optimize the opening area and opening ratio of the through holes 308a of the rectifying plate 308.
- the refrigerant flow is not uniform, the refrigerant liquid surface RS is likely to become disturbed, resulting in poor gas-liquid separation performance. Therefore, in order to uniform the refrigerant flow rate, it is desirable to set the opening area and opening ratio of the through-holes 308a so that the Reynolds number Re of the refrigerant passing through the straightening plate 308 is below a predetermined value.
- the Reynolds number Re of the refrigerant passing through the straightening plate 308 can be calculated using the following formula:
- u is the average velocity (m/s) of the refrigerant passing through the through hole 308a
- ⁇ is the diameter (m) of the through hole 308a
- ⁇ is the kinematic viscosity coefficient (m 2 /s) of the liquid phase refrigerant
- Q is the refrigerant flow rate (kg/s) passing through the receiver 30
- ⁇ is the density (kg/m 3 ) of the liquid phase refrigerant
- D is the diameter of the straightening vane 308, and P is the aperture ratio of the straightening vane 308.
- the diameter ⁇ of the non-circular through hole 308a may be the diameter of a circle having the same area as the through hole 308a.
- the refrigerant When the Reynolds number Re exceeds 4000, the refrigerant enters a turbulent state, disturbing the refrigerant liquid surface RS and resulting in poor gas-liquid separation performance.
- the Reynolds number Re When the Reynolds number Re is set to Re ⁇ 4000, the refrigerant enters a laminar flow state and transition region state, suppressing disturbance of the refrigerant liquid surface RS and improving gas-liquid separation performance. Therefore, from the perspective of suppressing the occurrence of turbulence in the refrigerant passing through the straightening plate 308, it is desirable to set the opening area and opening ratio of the through-holes 308a so that the Reynolds number Re is Re ⁇ 4000.
- the pressure loss ⁇ P of the refrigerant passing through the straightening plate 308 can be calculated using the following formula:
- ⁇ is the pipe friction coefficient and l is the thickness of the straightening plate 308.
- the pressure loss ⁇ P includes the Reynolds number Re and the average refrigerant velocity u as parameters.
- the average refrigerant velocity u is affected by the opening ratio of the straightening vane 308. In other words, as the Reynolds number Re decreases, the pressure loss increases, and as the opening ratio of the straightening vane 308 decreases, the pressure loss increases.
- a lower limit for the Reynolds number Re and a lower limit for the opening ratio of the straightening vane 308 are set to reduce the pressure loss caused by the straightening vane 308 and thus suppress the pressure loss of the refrigerant.
- the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant supplied from the condenser 20 flows into the refrigerant inlet passage 306 from the inlet passage inlet 306a.
- the refrigerant that passes through the refrigerant inlet passage 306 is discharged from the inlet passage outlet 306b and flows into the liquid phase refrigerant storage section 300b of the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b opens toward the bottom surface 300d of the container 300, and the refrigerant discharged from the inlet passage outlet 306b collides with the bottom surface 300d of the container 300, reducing the flow rate of the refrigerant.
- the refrigerant discharged below the rectifier plate 308 from the inlet passage outlet 306b is separated into gas and liquid as it passes through the through holes 308a in the rectifier plate 308 and moves above the rectifier plate 308.
- the refrigerant discharged below the inlet passage outlet 306b to the rectifier plate 308 can move to the second refrigerant storage section 303 via the lower communication section 305.
- the movement of the refrigerant to the second refrigerant storage section 303 also promotes gas-liquid separation of the refrigerant.
- the separated gas-phase refrigerant is stored above the first refrigerant storage section 302 and the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the separated liquid-phase refrigerant is stored below the first refrigerant storage section 302 and the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the refrigerant that has passed through the rectifying plate 308 has a uniform flow rate.
- the refrigerant liquid level RS can be stabilized, and the generation of bubbles at the refrigerant liquid level RS can be suppressed.
- the generation of bubbles can also be suppressed when the refrigerant passes through the rectifying plate 308.
- the liquid-phase refrigerant flowing out of the receiver 30 through the outflow passage outlet 307b is supplied to the expansion valve 40.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b is located inside the liquid-phase refrigerant storage section 300b. Therefore, the refrigerant does not collide with the refrigerant liquid level RS when it flows into the first refrigerant storage section 302. This prevents the generation of bubbles when the refrigerant flows into the first refrigerant storage section 302, improving gas-liquid separation performance.
- a straightening plate 308 that separates the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant into gas and liquid is disposed between the inlet passage outlet 306b and the refrigerant liquid level RS of the first refrigerant storage section 302, where the outlet passage inlet 307a is provided.
- the refrigerant that flows into the receiver 30 passes through the straightening plate 308, reducing its flow rate. This prevents the refrigerant from spraying onto the refrigerant liquid level RS, where the outlet passage inlet 307a is provided, and thus preventing bubbles from forming.
- the straightening plate 308 preferentially allows the liquid phase refrigerant to pass through, enabling the first refrigerant storage section 302 to effectively separate the gas and liquid two-phase refrigerant into gas and liquid.
- the gas-liquid separation performance can be improved without increasing the size of the receiver 30. In other words, the height of the receiver 30 can be reduced while still achieving improved gas-liquid separation performance.
- the opening area and aperture ratio of the through holes 308a of the straightening plate 308 are set so that the Reynolds number Re is Re ⁇ 4000. This allows the refrigerant passing through the straightening plate 308 to be in a laminar flow state and a transition region state, making the refrigerant flow velocity as uniform as possible. As a result, it is possible to prevent the refrigerant passing through the straightening plate 308 from disturbing the refrigerant liquid level RL and generating bubbles, thereby improving gas-liquid separation performance.
- the opening area and aperture ratio of the through holes 308a are set so that the Reynolds number Re is Re ⁇ 600, and the aperture ratio of the rectifying plate 308 is set to 2% or more. This makes it possible to reduce pressure loss when the refrigerant passes through the rectifying plate 308. As a result, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of cavitation due to pressure loss, and improve gas-liquid separation performance.
- multiple refrigerant storage sections 302, 303 are provided inside the container 300, and a lower communication section 305 that allows mainly liquid-phase refrigerant to circulate between the multiple refrigerant storage sections 302, 303 is provided near the bottom surface 300d of the container 300. This allows the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant that has flowed into the first refrigerant storage section 302 to flow into the second refrigerant storage section 303. In this way, by making the second refrigerant storage section 303 available in addition to the first refrigerant storage section 302, the gas-liquid separation performance of the refrigerant can be improved.
- multiple refrigerant storage sections 302, 303 provided inside the container 300 are arranged in parallel in the horizontal direction. This allows the receiver 30 to ensure a sufficient amount of refrigerant storage while keeping the height of the receiver 30 small. Refrigerant that flows into the first refrigerant storage section 302 can flow into the second refrigerant storage section 303 and then flow back into the first refrigerant storage section 302, lengthening the time it takes for the refrigerant to separate into gas and liquid.
- the outflow passage inlet 307a is located above the straightening plate 308 in the liquid-phase refrigerant storage section 300b.
- the refrigerant that has been separated into gas and liquid by the straightening plate 308 flows into the outflow passage inlet 307a, thereby improving the gas-liquid separation performance of the receiver 30.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306, the refrigerant outlet passage 307, and the rectifier plate 308 are provided in a single refrigerant storage section 302. This allows the refrigerant inlet passage 306, the refrigerant outlet passage 307, and the rectifier plate 308 to be arranged in close proximity, improving the ease of installation when installing the refrigeration cycle 1 in a vehicle, for example.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 are fixed to the lid portion 301, and the inlet passage inlet 306a and the outlet passage outlet 307b are provided on the top surface 300c of the container 300. This improves the ease of installation when mounting the refrigeration cycle 1 on a vehicle, for example, compared to when the inlet passage inlet 306a and the outlet passage outlet 307b are provided on the bottom surface 300d or inner wall side surface 300e of the container 300.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b of the refrigerant inlet passage 306 is located near the bottom surface 300d of the container 300.
- the refrigerant can flow from the inlet passage outlet 306b into the liquid-phase refrigerant without directly colliding with the refrigerant liquid surface RS. This makes it possible to suppress the generation of bubbles when the refrigerant flows in, improving gas-liquid separation performance.
- the straightening plate 308 and the outlet passage inlet 307a which are located above the inlet passage outlet 306b, can be positioned lower. This makes it possible to perform gas-liquid separation even with a small amount of refrigerant, and allows the height of the receiver 30 to be reduced.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b which is provided near the bottom surface 300d of the container 300, opens toward the bottom surface 300d of the container 300.
- the refrigerant that flows into the container 300 from the inlet passage outlet 306b collides with the bottom surface 300d of the container 300, thereby reducing the flow rate of the refrigerant. This reduces turbulence in the refrigerant liquid level RS and improves gas-liquid separation performance.
- the receiver 30 of this second embodiment has a desiccant unit 309 provided inside the container 300.
- the desiccant unit 309 is provided above the refrigerant liquid level RS in the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the desiccant unit 309 includes a desiccant 309a that adsorbs moisture contained in the refrigerant.
- the desiccant 309a can be filled into a desiccant container 309b, which has holes formed therein through which the refrigerant can pass.
- the desiccant unit 309 is fixed to the inner wall side surface 300e of the second refrigerant storage section 303, allowing the refrigerant to pass through. While Figure 8 shows an example in which the desiccant unit 309 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303, the desiccant unit 309 may also be provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the configuration of the second embodiment described above not only achieves the same effects as the first embodiment, but also allows the desiccant unit 309 to remove moisture contained in the refrigerant.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 is provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302, and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 are provided in different refrigerant storage sections 302 and 303.
- the rectifying plate 308 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303 together with the refrigerant outflow passage 307.
- the rectifying plate 308 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303, inside the liquid phase refrigerant storage section 300b, and above the lower communication section 305.
- the outflow passage inlet section 307a is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303, inside the liquid phase refrigerant storage section 300b, and above the rectifying plate 308.
- the straightening vane 308 is disposed in the second refrigerant storage section 303, where the outflow passage inlet 307a is provided. Therefore, the straightening vane 308 can suppress disturbance of the refrigerant liquid level RS in the second refrigerant storage section 303, thereby improving the gas-liquid separation performance in the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 are provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302 and the second refrigerant storage section 303, which are arranged in parallel. This makes it possible to increase the distance from the inlet passage outlet 306b to the outlet passage inlet 307a without increasing the height of the refrigerant. This makes it possible to take longer for the two-phase refrigerant to separate into gas and liquid by taking advantage of the difference in specific gravity between the gas and liquid refrigerants, thereby improving gas-liquid separation performance.
- a lower communication portion 305 connecting the first refrigerant storage portion 302 and the second refrigerant storage portion 303 is provided near the bottom surface 300d of the container 300. Air bubbles, which have a low specific gravity among the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant, have difficulty passing through the lower communication portion 305 near the bottom surface 300d. Therefore, the lower communication portion 305 allows the liquid phase refrigerant to preferentially flow from the first refrigerant storage portion 302 into the second refrigerant storage portion 303, improving gas-liquid separation performance.
- a desiccant unit 309 may be provided, as shown in FIG. 10.
- the desiccant unit 309 can remove moisture contained in the refrigerant. While FIG. 10 shows an example in which the desiccant unit 309 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303, the desiccant unit 309 may also be provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 is provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302, and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the straightening plate 308 is provided in the lower communication section 305 that connects the first refrigerant storage section 302 and the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the straightening plate 308 in this fourth embodiment is provided between the inlet passage outlet 306b and the outlet passage inlet 307a.
- the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant that flows from the inlet passage outlet 306b into the first refrigerant storage section 302 can pass through the through holes 308a of the straightening plate 308 and move to the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- a desiccant unit 309 may be provided, as shown in FIG. 12.
- the desiccant unit 309 can remove moisture contained in the refrigerant. While FIG. 12 shows an example in which the desiccant unit 309 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303, the desiccant unit 309 may also be provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- a refrigerant inlet passage 306, a refrigerant outlet passage 307, and a rectifying plate 308 are provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302. Furthermore, in this fifth embodiment, a seal portion 310 is provided on the periphery of the rectifying plate 308. An elastic member such as a rubber material can be used as the seal portion 310.
- the seal portion 310 seals the gap between the outer periphery of the rectifying plate 308 and the portion of the container 300 where the rectifying plate 308 is located.
- the seal portion 310 is located between the outer periphery of the rectifying plate 308 and the inner wall of the first refrigerant storage portion 302, filling the gap between the rectifying plate 308 and the first refrigerant storage portion 302.
- the refrigerant will be more likely to pass through the gap when the flow rate of the refrigerant flowing from the inlet passage outlet 306b into the first refrigerant storage section 302 increases. As a result, the refrigerant can bypass the through-holes 308a of the rectifier plate 308, which may reduce the gas-liquid separation performance of the rectifier plate 308.
- the fifth embodiment by providing a seal portion 310 between the outer periphery of the rectifying plate 308 and the inner wall of the first refrigerant storage portion 302, it is possible to minimize the gap between the rectifying plate 308 and the first refrigerant storage portion 302. This allows the refrigerant that flows into the first refrigerant storage portion 302 from the inlet passage outlet portion 306b to reliably pass through the through-holes 308a of the rectifying plate 308, thereby achieving the desired gas-liquid separation performance.
- a seal portion 310 made of an elastic material is provided on the outer periphery of the rectifying plate 308, but an elastic material such as rubber may also be used for the rectifying plate 308.
- an elastic material for the rectifying plate 308 it is possible to minimize the gap between the rectifying plate 308 and the first refrigerant storage portion 302, and to obtain the same effect as when a seal portion 310 is provided.
- a desiccant unit 309 may be provided, as shown in FIG. 14.
- the desiccant unit 309 can remove moisture contained in the refrigerant. While FIG. 14 shows an example in which the desiccant unit 309 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303, the desiccant unit 309 may also be provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- a support portion 311 is provided to support the rectifying plate 308.
- the support portion 311 is a displacement restriction portion that restricts the displacement of the rectifying plate 308.
- the support portion 311 is configured as a plurality of rod-shaped members.
- the support portion 311 is arranged with its longitudinal direction in the vertical direction.
- One end of the support portion 311 is fixed to the lid portion 301, and the other end is fixed to the upper surface of the rectifying plate 308. Therefore, the support portion 311 can restrict upward displacement of the rectifying plate 308.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b is located below the rectifier plate 308. Therefore, when the flow rate of the refrigerant flowing from the inlet passage outlet 306b below the rectifier plate 308 increases, the force with which the refrigerant pushes up the rectifier plate 308 increases. In this case, a gap is likely to form between the outer periphery of the rectifier plate 308 and the inner wall of the first refrigerant storage section 302, and there is a risk that the refrigerant will pass through this gap. As a result, the refrigerant can bypass the through-holes 308a of the rectifier plate 308, reducing the gas-liquid separation performance of the rectifier plate 308.
- the support portion 311 restricts the displacement of the rectifying plate 308, preventing gaps from forming between the rectifying plate 308 and the first refrigerant storage portion 302. This ensures that the refrigerant flowing into the first refrigerant storage portion 302 from the inlet passage outlet 306b passes reliably through the through-holes 308a of the rectifying plate 308, achieving the desired gas-liquid separation performance.
- the support portion 311 and the seal portion 310 are combined, but the support portion 311 may be used alone in a configuration without the seal portion 310.
- the support portion 311 is configured as a rod-shaped member placed between the lid portion 301 and the straightening plate 308, but the support portion 311 may have a different configuration as long as it can regulate the displacement of the straightening plate 308.
- the inner diameter of the first refrigerant storage portion 302 may be different at the top and bottom, creating a step on the inner wall of the first refrigerant storage portion 302, and this step may serve as the support portion 311. In this case, by making the inner diameter of the first refrigerant storage portion 302 smaller at the top and larger at the bottom, it is possible to regulate the displacement of the straightening plate 308 above the support portion 311.
- a desiccant unit 309 may be provided, as shown in FIG. 16.
- the desiccant unit 309 can remove moisture contained in the refrigerant. While FIG. 16 shows an example in which the desiccant unit 309 is provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303, the desiccant unit 309 may also be provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the seventh embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that it does not include the second refrigerant storage section 303, upper communication section 304, and lower communication section 305.
- the "first refrigerant storage section 302" in the above embodiments is referred to as the "refrigerant storage section 302" in the seventh embodiment.
- a single refrigerant storage section 302 is provided inside the container 300.
- the refrigerant storage section 302 is provided with a refrigerant inlet passage 306, a refrigerant outlet passage 307, and a flow straightening plate 308.
- the refrigerant storage section 302 can be, for example, a cylindrical space.
- the inflow passage outlet 306b within the liquid-phase refrigerant storage section 300b, it is possible to prevent the refrigerant from colliding with the refrigerant liquid level RS as it flows in, thereby preventing the generation of bubbles, and improving gas-liquid separation performance. Furthermore, by providing a straightening plate 308 between the inflow passage outlet 306b and the refrigerant liquid level RS, the straightening plate 308 can separate the refrigerant into gas and liquid, and by stabilizing the refrigerant liquid level RS, the generation of bubbles can be suppressed.
- the container 300 can be made cylindrical, thereby improving the productivity of the receiver 30.
- a desiccant unit 309 may be provided, as shown in FIG. 18.

- the multiple rectifying plates 308 may have the same shape or different shapes.
- two rectifying plates 308 are stacked one on top of the other.
- the two rectifying plates 308 may be arranged close to each other or with a gap between them.
- the configuration of the eighth embodiment described above can also achieve the same effects as the seventh embodiment. Furthermore, by providing multiple straightening plates 308, gas-liquid separation performance can be improved.
- this ninth embodiment differs from the third embodiment in that a rectifying plate 308 is provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302 in addition to the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- a rectifying plate 308 is provided in each of the first refrigerant storage section 302 and the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the rectifying plate 308 in the first refrigerant storage section 302 and the rectifying plate 308 in the second refrigerant storage section 303 may have the same shape or different shapes.
- the ninth embodiment described above not only achieves the same effects as the third embodiment, but also allows the straightening plate 308 to perform gas-liquid separation of the two-phase gas-liquid refrigerant in the first refrigerant storage section 302, and stabilizes the refrigerant liquid level RS. This further improves the gas-liquid separation performance of the receiver 30.
- a container 300 is provided with a first refrigerant storage section 302 and a second refrigerant storage section 303.
- a refrigerant inlet passage 306 is provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 is provided in a portion of the lid section 301 corresponding to the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b is provided near the upper surface 300c.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b is provided in an area at least 1/4 of the vertical height of the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b is provided on the upper surface 300c of the first refrigerant storage section 302, and is provided at the top of the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 is formed as a through-hole in the lid portion 301, and the inlet passage inlet 306a and the inlet passage outlet 306b are provided in the lid portion 301.
- the inlet passage inlet 306a opens toward the first refrigerant storage portion 302.

- a desiccant unit 309 is provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302.
- the desiccant unit 309 is provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302 below the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and above the refrigerant liquid level RS. Therefore, the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant that flows from the refrigerant inlet passage 306 into the first refrigerant storage section 302 falls into the desiccant unit 309, passes through the desiccant unit 309, and then falls to the refrigerant liquid level RS.
- the second refrigerant storage section 303 is provided with a refrigerant outflow passage 307.

- the outflow passage inlet 307a is located near the bottom surface 300d of the container 300. Specifically, the outflow passage inlet 307a is located in an area that is 3/4 or less of the vertical height of the second refrigerant storage section 303.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 are provided in the first refrigerant storage section 302 and the second refrigerant storage section 303, which are arranged in parallel, respectively. This makes it possible to increase the distance from the inlet passage outlet 306b to the outlet passage inlet 307a without increasing the height of the unit.
Because air bubbles with a low specific gravity have difficulty passing through the lower communication portion 305 near the bottom surface, the lower communication portion 305 allows liquid phase refrigerant to preferentially flow from the first refrigerant storage portion 302 into the second refrigerant storage portion 303. As a result, the height of the receiver 30 can be reduced while improving gas-liquid separation performance.
- the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant that flows into the first refrigerant storage section 302 from the inlet passage outlet 306b passes through the desiccant unit 309 before falling to the refrigerant liquid level RS.
- the flow velocity of the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant can be reduced in the desiccant unit 309, and the generation of bubbles at the refrigerant liquid level RL can be suppressed. This also improves gas-liquid separation performance.
- a desiccant unit 309 may be provided in the second refrigerant storage section 303, as shown in FIG. 22.

- the third refrigerant storage section 312 is provided on the right side

- the first refrigerant storage section 302 and the second refrigerant storage section 303 are connected by the second upper communication section 304b and the second lower communication section 305b.
- the eleventh embodiment described above can also achieve the same effects as the tenth embodiment. Furthermore, in the configuration of Figure 23, the second refrigerant storage section 303 is provided between the first refrigerant storage section 302 in which the inlet passage outlet section 306b is located, and the third refrigerant storage section 312 in which the outlet passage inlet section 307a is located. This makes it possible to increase the distance between the inlet passage outlet section 306b and the outlet passage inlet section 307a, thereby further improving gas-liquid separation performance.
- a flow path extension 313 is provided.
- the flow path extension 313 is provided to extend the flow path length of the refrigerant flowing from the inlet passage outlet 306b toward the outlet passage inlet 307a.
- the flow path extension 313 prevents the refrigerant that has flowed from the inlet passage outlet 306b into the first refrigerant storage section 302 from flowing in a straight line toward the lower communication section 305, and extends the distance that the refrigerant that has flowed into the first refrigerant storage section 302 must travel to reach the lower communication section 305.

- Refrigerant heading toward the lower communication section 305 goes around the baffle plate 313a and passes through the gap between the baffle plate 313a and the inner wall of the first refrigerant storage section 302. As a result, the distance that the refrigerant that flows into the first refrigerant storage section 302 must travel before it reaches the lower communication section 305 is extended.
- the adjacent baffle plate 313a has a gap at the opposite end between it and the inner wall of the first refrigerant storage section 302. - the refrigerant that flows from the refrigerant inlet passage 306 into the refrigerant storage section 302 flows horizontally along the bottom surface 300d to the opposing surface.

- the foreign matter removal section 316 is fixed to the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and is arranged to extend from the refrigerant inlet passage 306 toward the inside of the refrigerant storage section 302.
- the length of the foreign matter removal section 316 is aligned with the direction of refrigerant flow.
- the foreign matter removal section 316 is arranged horizontally along the bottom surface 300d.
- the foreign matter removal section 316 is a cylindrical bottomed structure with an open inlet end located in the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and a closed rear end located inside the refrigerant storage section 302. All of the refrigerant that flows from the refrigerant inlet passage 306 into the refrigerant storage section 302 passes through the foreign matter removal section 316.
- a collision section 317 is provided at the rear end of the foreign matter removal section 316, which causes the refrigerant that has flowed into the refrigerant storage section 302 from the inlet passage outlet section 306b to collide with the refrigerant, thereby obstructing the flow of the refrigerant.
- the collision section 317 is provided inside the foreign matter removal section 316.
- the collision section 317 is fixed inside the foreign matter removal section 316.
- the collision portion 317 is provided on the path along which the refrigerant that has flowed from the refrigerant inlet passage 306 into the refrigerant storage portion 302 reaches the refrigerant liquid level RS.
- the path of the inlet refrigerant is such that it flows horizontally from the inlet passage outlet portion 306b along the bottom surface 300d, then changes direction upward at the opposing surface and reaches the refrigerant liquid level RS.
- the collision portion 317 is provided on an extension of the central axis of the refrigerant inlet passage 306, and is provided midway along the refrigerant's horizontal flow along the bottom surface 300d.
- the collision portion 317 may have any shape as long as it can reduce the flow rate through collision of the inflowing refrigerant.
- the collision portion 317 of the 21st embodiment has a generally conical shape.
- the generally conical collision portion 317 has a bottom located upstream of the refrigerant flow and a tip located downstream of the refrigerant flow.
- the collision portion 317 is positioned so that its bottom, which has a larger area, faces the inflow passage outlet portion 306b and its tip contacts the rear end of the foreign matter removal portion 316.
- the collision portion 317 is a member that the refrigerant cannot pass through, and can be made of, for example, a metal material or a resin material.
- the straightening plate 308 is provided above the inlet passage outlet 306b and the outlet passage inlet 307a.
- the straightening plate 308 is provided between the inlet passage outlet 306b and the outlet passage inlet 307a and the refrigerant liquid level RS. Therefore, the refrigerant that flows into the refrigerant storage section 302 from the inlet passage outlet 306b can flow out from the outlet passage inlet 307a without passing through the straightening plate 308.
- the refrigerant that flows into the refrigerant storage section 302 from the inlet passage outlet 306b passes through the straightening plate 308 when flowing towards the refrigerant liquid level RS.
- the refrigerant that flows into refrigerant storage section 302 flows horizontally inside foreign matter removal section 316 along bottom surface 300d.
- the refrigerant flowing toward the rear end of foreign matter removal section 316 collides with collision section 317, slowing down its flow rate, and is then discharged from foreign matter removal section 316.
- Some of the refrigerant flowing inside foreign matter removal section 316 passes through foreign matter removal section 316 before colliding with collision section 317, and is then discharged from foreign matter removal section 316.
- foreign matter contained in the refrigerant remains inside foreign matter removal section 316, and the foreign matter is removed from the refrigerant.
- the refrigerant is separated into gas and liquid by the straightening plate 308. As the refrigerant passes through the straightening plate 308, its flow speed decreases, preventing the refrigerant from spraying onto the refrigerant liquid surface RS, disturbing the refrigerant liquid surface RS and generating bubbles. After being separated into gas and liquid in the refrigerant storage section 302, the refrigerant flows out from the outflow passage inlet section 307a.
- a collision section 317 is provided to collide the refrigerant that flows from the inflow passage outlet 306b into the refrigerant storage section 302. This reduces the flow rate of the refrigerant, prevents the refrigerant from rolling up along the opposing inner wall surface, and prevents the refrigerant liquid level RS from being disturbed and causing bubbles to form.
- the straightening plate 308 is provided between the inlet passage outlet 306b and the outlet passage inlet 307a and the refrigerant liquid level RS, and is not provided between the inlet passage outlet 306b and the outlet passage inlet 307a. This allows the refrigerant that flows into the refrigerant storage section 302 from the inlet passage outlet 306b to flow out from the outlet passage inlet 307a without passing through the straightening plate 308. This reduces the amount of refrigerant that passes through the straightening plate 308, and prevents the refrigerant that has passed through the straightening plate 308 from disturbing the refrigerant liquid level RS and generating bubbles.
- the receiver 30 when the receiver 30 is made smaller, the refrigerant flow rate increases inside the refrigerant storage section 302, making it more likely that the refrigerant passing through the rectifying plate 308 will cause disturbances in the refrigerant liquid level RS. Therefore, by reducing the amount of refrigerant passing through the rectifying plate 308 and suppressing disturbances in the refrigerant liquid level RS, it is possible to make the receiver 30 more compact.
- a foreign matter removal section 316 is provided separate from the rectifying plate 308, so that all of the refrigerant flowing into the refrigerant storage section 302 passes through the foreign matter removal section 316. Because the foreign matter removal section 316 can reliably remove foreign matter contained in the refrigerant, the rectifying plate 308 does not need to have a foreign matter removal function. This allows a configuration in which some of the refrigerant that flows into the refrigerant storage section 302 does not pass through the rectifying plate 308, thereby reducing the amount of refrigerant passing through the rectifying plate 308.
- the collision portion 317 is fixed inside the foreign matter removal portion 316. This allows the collision portion 317 to be easily fixed without the need for a dedicated fixing mechanism. Furthermore, when the refrigerant collides with the collision portion 317, the collision portion 317 is held at the rear end of the foreign matter removal portion 316, so the collision portion 317 does not move.
- the collision part 317 is generally conical in shape, with its small-diameter tip positioned at the rear of the foreign matter removal part 316. This allows the collision part 317 to be easily inserted from the entrance end of the foreign matter removal part 316 toward the rear end.
- the connection between the bottom surface 300d and the inner wall side surface 300e is curved, making it easier for the refrigerant that flows into the refrigerant storage section 302 to curl up along the curved inner wall surface. Therefore, by providing the collision section 317, even in a refrigerant storage section 302 in which the connection between the bottom surface 300d and the inner wall side surface 300e is curved, it is possible to effectively suppress the curling up of the refrigerant and suppress disturbances in the refrigerant liquid level RS.
- the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 are arranged on the inner wall side surface 300e of the container 300. This allows the height dimension of the receiver 30 to be reduced. Furthermore, by arranging the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 on the inner wall side surface 300e of the container 300, it is possible to easily combine the refrigerant inlet passage 306 and the refrigerant outlet passage 307 with other components that make up the refrigeration cycle to form a module.

- the collision portion 317 in this 22nd embodiment is located on an extension of the central axis of the refrigerant inlet passage 306, and is located midway as the refrigerant flows horizontally along the bottom surface 300d.
- the refrigerant that flows into the refrigerant storage section 302 flows horizontally inside the foreign matter removal section 316 along the bottom surface 300d, then flows into the cylindrical collision section 317 and collides with the tip. This reduces the flow rate of the refrigerant that flows into the refrigerant storage section 302.
- the inlet passage outlet 306b is provided on the inner wall side surface 300e of the container 300, and a collision section 317 is provided to collide the refrigerant that has flowed into the refrigerant storage section 302. - the small diameter sections of foreign matter removal portion 316 and collision portion 317 can be formed by, for example, performing a crimping process after foreign matter removal portion 316 is inserted inside collision portion 317.
- the refrigerant that flows into the refrigerant storage section 302 flows horizontally inside the foreign matter removal section 316 along the bottom surface 300d, and after passing through the foreign matter removal section 316, collides with the closed end of the collision section 317. Description
