Description

脱気モジュール及び液体の脱気方法
 本開示は、脱気モジュール及び液体の脱気方法に関する。
 従来から、液体流通パイプの周りに複数の中空糸膜が配置された脱気モジュールを用いて液体を脱気する脱気モジュールが知られている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。

 液体の脱気は、スイープモードにより行われることが多い。スイープモードは、中空糸膜の外側に液体を供給し、中空糸膜内にスイープガスを供給することで、液体を脱気する方法である。しかしながら、スイープモードでは、気相のガス濃度が下がってしまう。液体からガスを高濃度で脱気するためには、真空モードにより行うことが有効である。真空モードは、中空糸膜の外側に液体を供給し、中空糸膜内を吸引(真空引き)することで、液体を脱気する方法である。真空モードでは、気相のガス濃度がスイープモードよりも高くなるため、スイープモードよりも高濃度に液体からガスを脱気することができる。
 また、液体からガスを高濃度で脱気するためには、脱気モジュールを大型化して、大流量の水を脱気モジュールに供給することが有効である。大流量の水を脱気モジュールに供給すると、気相側の真空度は大きく変わらないのに対し、液相側の脱気対象となるガスの分圧が高まるため、気相側と液相側との間の脱気対象となるガスの分圧差が増加する。その結果、脱気対象のガスが高濃度で脱気される。
 このようなことから、本発明者らは、二酸化炭素を高濃度で脱気するために、互いに各部位の寸法が異なる複数の脱気モジュールを作製し、各脱気モジュールに50m/h以上の大流量の水を供給して、真空モードで水から二酸化炭素を脱気する試験を行った。その結果、一部の脱気モジュールでは、脱気性能(分離性能)が低下することが分かった。
 そこで、本開示は、脱気性能の低下を抑制することができる脱気モジュール及び液体の脱気方法を提供することができる液体の脱気方法及び脱気モジュールを提供することを課題とする。
 本発明者らは、上記課題を解決するために、更に研究を進めたところ、複数の中空糸膜で構成される中空糸膜束の外径と中空糸膜束の長さとの関係が、脱気性能に影響しているとの知見を得た。本開示は、上記知見に基づきなされたものである。
[1] 本開示に係る脱気モジュールは、複数の開口が形成されて内部に液体流通路が形成された液体流通パイプと、複数の中空糸膜が複数の開口を覆うように液体流通パイプの周囲に配置された中空糸膜束と、液体流通パイプ及び中空糸膜束を収容する筒部と、複数の中空糸膜の中空部が液体流通パイプの延在方向における一方の方向である第一延在方向側に開口するように、液体流通パイプの第一延在方向側の端部と、複数の中空糸膜の第一延在方向側の端部と、筒部との間を封止する第一封止部と、複数の中空糸膜の中空部が延在方向における第一延在方向とは反対の方向である第二延在方向側に開口するように、液体流通パイプの第二延在方向側の端部と、複数の中空糸膜の第二延在方向側の端部と、筒部と、の間を封止する第二封止部と、液体流通パイプに液体を供給するための液体供給ポートと、筒部に設けられて液体流通パイプから出た液体を排出するための液体排出ポートと、複数の中空糸膜を透過したガスを排出するためのガスポートと、を備え、第一封止部と第二封止部との間における中空糸膜束の延在方向における長さに対する、第一封止部と第二封止部との間における中空糸膜束の太さの比率は、0.3以上である。
 この脱気モジュールでは、第一封止部と第二封止部との間における中空糸膜束の延在方向における長さに対する、第一封止部と第二封止部との間における中空糸膜束の延在方向における太さの比率が、0.3以上であるため、中空糸膜束の延在方向における単位長さ当たりの中空糸膜の数又は複数の中空糸膜の膜面積を大きくすることができる。これにより、脱気性能の低下を抑制することができる。
[2] [1]に記載の脱気モジュールにおいて、第一封止部及び第二封止部は、筒部内の領域を、複数の中空糸膜を境界として、複数の中空糸膜の中空部を含む内部領域と液体流通パイプの中空部を含む外部領域とに仕切ってもよい。この脱気モジュールでは、第一封止部及び第二封止部が、筒部内の領域を、複数の中空糸膜を境界として、複数の中空糸膜の中空部を含む内部領域と液体流通パイプの液体流通路を含む外部領域とに仕切る。このため、内部領域と外部領域とを容易に仕切ることができる。なお、外部領域は、液体が流通する液相領域となり、内部領域は、複数の中空糸膜を透過したガスが流通する気相領域となる。
[3] [1]又は[2]に記載の脱気モジュールにおいて、筒部の第一延在方向側の端部に接続される第一蓋部と、筒部の第二延在方向側の端部に接続される第二蓋部と、を更に備え、液体供給ポートは、第二蓋部に設けられており、液体排出ポートは、筒部に設けられており、ガスポートは、第一蓋部及び第二蓋部の少なくとも一方に設けられていてもよい。この脱気モジュールでは、筒部の両端部に第一蓋部及び第二蓋部が接続されており、液体供給ポートが第二蓋部に設けられており、液体排出ポートが筒部に設けられており、ガスポートが第一蓋部及び第二蓋部の少なくとも一方に設けられているため、脱気モジュールを容易に製造することができる。
[4] [3]に記載の脱気モジュールにおいて、第一蓋部は、複数の中空糸膜の中空部に連通される第一端連通空間を形成しており、ガスポートは、第一端連通空間に隣接して第一端連通空間に連通される第一端ガスポートを有してもよい。この脱気モジュールでは、第一蓋部が、複数の中空糸膜の中空部に連通される第一端連通空間を形成しており、第一端ガスポートが、第一端連通空間に隣接して第一端連通空間に連通されている。このため、第一延在方向側の端から複数の中空糸膜の中空部を吸引することができる脱気モジュールを容易に製造することができる。
[5] [3]又は[4]に記載の脱気モジュールにおいて、第二蓋部は、複数の中空糸膜の中空部に連通される第二端連通空間を形成しており、ガスポートは、第二端連通空間に隣接して第二端連通空間に連通される第二端ガスポートを有してもよい。この脱気モジュールでは、第二蓋部が、複数の中空糸膜の中空部に連通される第二端連通空間を形成しており、第二端ガスポートが、第二端連通空間に隣接して第二端連通空間に連通されている。このため、第二延在方向側の端から複数の中空糸膜の中空部を吸引することができる脱気モジュールを容易に製造することができる。
[6] [3]~[5]の何れかに記載の脱気モジュールにおいて、筒部には、複数の中空糸膜の延在方向における両端部が液体流通パイプの延在方向における両端部に固定されてなる脱気エレメントが収容されており、第一蓋部及び第二蓋部の少なくとも一方は、筒部に対して着脱可能に接続されていてもよい。この脱気モジュールでは、第一蓋部及び第二蓋部の少なくとも一方が筒部に対して着脱可能に接続されているため、筒部に対して第一蓋部及び第二蓋部の少なくとも一方を外すことで、筒部から脱気エレメントを取り出して交換することが可能となる。これにより、脱気モジュールの寿命を大幅に延ばすことができる。
[7] [3]~[6]の何れかに記載の脱気モジュールにおいて、筒部、第一蓋部、及び第二蓋部を有するハウジングの容積は、10 L以上であってもよい。この脱気モジュールでは、ハウジングの容積が10 L以上であるため、大容量の液体を供給して脱気することができる。
[8] [1]~[7]の何れかに記載の脱気モジュールにおいて、複数の中空糸膜のそれぞれの太さは、10 μm以上1000 μm以下であってもよい。この脱気モジュールでは、複数の中空糸膜のそれぞれの太さが10 μm以上1000 μm以下であるため、中空糸膜の破断を抑制することができるとともに、中空糸膜の数を多くして大きな膜面積を得ることができる。
[9] 本開示に係る液体の脱気方法は、[1]~[8]の何れかに記載の脱気モジュールを用いて液体を脱気する液体の脱気方法であって、ガスポートから複数の中空糸膜の中空部を吸引するとともに、液体供給ポートから液体流通パイプに液体を供給する。この液体の脱気方法では、上記の何れかの脱気モジュールにおいて、ガスポートから複数の中空糸膜の中空部を吸引するとともに、液体供給ポートから液体流通パイプに液体を供給することで、液体を脱気する。このため、脱気性能の低下を抑制することができる。
 本開示によれば、脱気性能の低下を抑制することができる。

 以下、図面を参照して、実施形態の脱気モジュール及び液体の脱気方法について説明する。なお、全図中、同一または相当部分には同一符号を付し、重複する説明を省略する。
[脱気モジュール]
 図1は、実施形態に係る脱気モジュールの概略断面図である。図1に示すように、本実施形態に係る脱気モジュール1は、液体Lを脱気するためのモジュールである。液体Lは、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、水道水、飲料水、純水、超純水、海水、工業用水等の水、硫酸アンモニウム、界面活性剤等を溶解させた水溶液、アルコール、炭化水素等の有機溶剤、イオン性液体等である。脱気モジュール1は、脱気エレメント2と、ハウジング3と、閉塞部5と、仕切部7と、を備える。なお、図1では、ハウジング3のみ断面で示している。
 図2は、脱気エレメントの概略正面図である。図3は、図2に示すIII-III線における概略断面図である。図4は、図2に示す脱気エレメントの一部を示す概略断面図である。図5は、図2に示す脱気エレメントの一部を示す概略断面図である。図1~図5に示すように、脱気エレメント2は、液体Lを脱気するためのものである。脱気エレメント2は、液体流通パイプ21と、中空糸膜束23と、第一固定部24と、第二固定部25と、を備える。
 液体流通パイプ21は、延在方向D2に延在する円筒状の部材である。延在方向D2の両方向のうち、一方の方向を第一延在方向D21といい、他方の方向を第二延在方向D22という。図2では、上方が第一延在方向D21となり、下方が第二延在方向D22となる。脱気エレメント2の第一延在方向D21側の端部を、第一エレメント端部2aといい、脱気エレメント2の第二延在方向D22側の端部を、第二エレメント端部2bという。
 液体流通パイプ21は、液体流通路21aを形成している。液体流通路21aは、液体Lが流通可能な流路(パイプ内流路)であり、液体流通パイプ21の内周面により形成される。液体流通パイプ21は、脱気エレメント2の延在方向D2における全域に延びている。つまり、液体流通パイプ21は、脱気エレメント2の第一延在方向D21の端から脱気エレメント2の第二延在方向D22の端まで延びている。液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aは、第一延在方向D21及び第二延在方向D22に開放されている。液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aの第一延在方向D21側の開口を、第一端液体流通パイプ開口21bといい、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aの第二延在方向D22側の開口を、第二端液体流通パイプ開口21cという。なお、脱気エレメント2においては、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aに、液体Lの延在方向D2への移動を阻止するバッフル等の部材が設けられていない。
 液体流通パイプ21には、複数の開口21dが形成されている。複数の開口21dは、第一端液体流通パイプ開口21b及び第二端液体流通パイプ開口21cとは別に液体流通路21aから液体流通パイプ21の外側に液体Lを出すための穴である。つまり、複数の開口21dは、液体流通パイプ21の径方向において液体流通路21aから液体流通パイプ21の外側に液体Lを出すための穴である。複数の開口21dは、液体流通パイプ21の周壁に形成されて、液体流通路21aを液体流通パイプ21の外側に開放している。
 中空糸膜束23は、複数の中空糸膜22が複数の開口21dを覆うように液体流通パイプ21の周囲に配置されて構成されている。複数の中空糸膜22は、液体流通パイプ21に沿って延びている。複数の中空糸膜22が液体流通パイプ21に沿って延びているとは、脱気エレメント2の初期状態(未使用状態)において、複数の中空糸膜22が延在方向D2に沿って延びていることをいう。複数の中空糸膜22は、液体流通パイプ21の周囲に配置されることで、円筒状に束ねられている。このため、中空糸膜束23は、複数の中空糸膜22により、延在方向D2に沿って延びる円筒状に形成されている。
 中空糸膜束23は、例えば、簾状に織られた中空糸膜織物(不図示)により形成される。中空糸膜織物は、緯糸となる複数の中空糸膜22と経糸(不図示)とが織られた織物である。中空糸膜織物では、複数の中空糸膜22が簾状に配置されている。そして、複数の中空糸膜22が延在方向D2に延びて複数の開口21dを覆うように、中空糸膜織物が液体流通パイプ21に巻き付けられている。
 中空糸膜22の中空部22aは、ガスGが流通可能な流路(膜内流路)であり、中空糸膜22の内周面により形成される。複数の中空糸膜22は、脱気エレメント2の延在方向D2における全域に延びている。つまり、複数の中空糸膜22は、脱気エレメント2の第一延在方向D21の端から脱気エレメント2の第二延在方向D22の端まで延びている。複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aは、第一延在方向D21及び第二延在方向D22に開放されている。なお、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aは、複数の中空糸膜22のそれぞれの中空部22aをいう。複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aの第一延在方向D21側の開口を、第一端中空糸膜開口22bといい、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aの第二延在方向D22側の開口を、第二端中空糸膜開口22cという。
 中空糸膜22は、ガスGは透過するが液体Lは透過しない中空糸状の膜である。中空糸膜22の素材、膜形状、膜形態等は、特に制限されない。中空糸膜22の素材としては、例えば、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン、ポリメチルペンテン等のポリオレフィン系樹脂、ポリジメチルシロキサンその共重合体などのシリコン系樹脂、PTFE、フッ化ビニリデンなどのフッ素系樹脂、が挙げられる。中空糸膜22の膜形状(側壁の形状)としては、例えば、多孔質膜、微多孔膜、多孔質を有さない均質膜(非多孔膜)、が挙げられる。中空糸膜22の膜形態としては、例えば、膜全体の化学的あるいは物理的構造が均質な対称膜(均質膜)、膜の化学的あるいは物理的構造が膜の部分によって異なる非対称膜(不均質膜)、が挙げられる。非対称膜(不均質膜)は、非多孔質の緻密層と多孔質の多孔質層とを有する膜である。非多孔質とは、液体が通過可能な孔を有しないことをいう。多孔質とは、液体が通過可能な孔を有することをいう。この場合、緻密層は、膜の表層部分又は多孔質膜内部等、膜中のどこに形成されていてもよい。不均質膜には、化学構造の異なる複合膜、3層構造のような多層構造膜も含まれる。特にポリ4-メチルペンテン-1樹脂を用いた不均質膜は、液体Lを遮断する緻密層を有するため、特に好ましい。
 図6は、非対称膜で構成された中空糸膜の例の一部を示す模式断面図である。図6に示す中空糸膜22は、非多孔質の緻密層22dと、多孔質の多孔質層22eと、を有する非対称膜により構成されている。緻密層22dは、多孔質を有しない層、つまり、非多孔質層である。多孔質を有しない層とは、例えば、液体Lが通過可能な孔を有しない層である。液体Lが通過可能な孔とは、例えば、最小孔径が液体Lを構成する分子よりも大きい孔である。この場合、緻密層22dには、液体Lが通過不能な孔が形成されていてもよい。多孔質層22eは、多孔質を有する層である。多孔質層22eは、緻密層22dを支持する層としても機能する。多孔質を有する層とは、例えば、液体Lが通過可能な孔を有する層である。多孔質層22eは、例えば、スポンジ状に形成されている。緻密層22dは、例えば、多孔質層22eの外側(外表面側)又は内側(内表面側)に位置している。緻密層22dを容易に形成できるとともに、中空糸膜22が濡れにくくなる観点から、緻密層22dは、中空糸膜22の外表面に形成されていてもよい。
 中空糸膜22の破断を抑制する観点から、中空糸膜22の太さ(外径)は、例えば、10 μm以上、好ましくは100 μm以上である。一方、中空糸膜22の数を多くして大きな膜面積を得る観点から、中空糸膜22の太さ(外径)は、例えば、1000 μm以下、好ましくは500 μm以下である。これらの観点から、中空糸膜22の太さ(外径)は、例えば、10 μm以上1000 μm以下、好ましくは100 μm以上500μm以下である。
 第一固定部24は、第一エレメント端部2aに位置して、液体流通パイプ21及び複数の中空糸膜22の間を封止して複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aを開口するように複数の中空糸膜22を液体流通パイプ21に固定している。つまり、第一固定部24は、複数の中空糸膜22の第一延在方向D21側の端部を液体流通パイプ21に固定している。そして、第一固定部24は、液体流通パイプ21及び複数の中空糸膜22の間を封止している。また、第一固定部24は、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21a及び複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aに設けられていないことで、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21a及び複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aを開口している。第一固定部24は、例えば、樹脂により形成されている。
 第二固定部25は、第二エレメント端部2bに位置して、液体流通パイプ21及び複数の中空糸膜22の間を封止して複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aを開口するように複数の中空糸膜22を液体流通パイプ21に固定している。つまり、第二固定部25は、複数の中空糸膜22の第二延在方向D22側の端部を液体流通パイプ21に固定している。そして、第二固定部25は、液体流通パイプ21及び複数の中空糸膜22の間を封止している。また、第二固定部25は、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21a及び複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aに設けられていないことで、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21a及び複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aを開口している。第二固定部25は、例えば、樹脂により形成されている。
 そして、第一固定部24及び第二固定部25が複数の中空糸膜22を液体流通パイプ21に固定することで、複数の中空糸膜22が延在方向D2に沿って延びて円筒状に束ねられており、これにより中空糸膜束23が延在方向D2に沿って延びる円筒状に形成されている。
 なお、複数の中空糸膜22は、ハウジング等の部材に覆われておらず、第一固定部24と第二固定部25との間において脱気エレメント2の外側に露出している。
 図7は、図1に示す脱気モジュールの一部を示す概略断面図である。図8は、図1に示す脱気モジュールの一部を示す概略断面図である。図9は、図1に示す脱気モジュールの一部を示す概略断面図である。図1、図2、及び図7~図9に示すように、ハウジング3は、脱気エレメント2との間に隙間S1が形成されるように脱気エレメント2を収容する。この隙間S1は、脱気エレメント2とハウジング3との間の、液体Lが流通可能な空間である。
 ハウジング3は、脱気エレメント2の周囲を囲う筒部31と、筒部31の一方側の端部に接続される第一蓋部32と、筒部31の第一蓋部32とは反対側の端部に接続される第二蓋部33と、を備えている。
 筒部31は、延在方向D1に延びる円筒状に形成されている。延在方向D1は、第一蓋部32と第二蓋部33との対向方向でもある。延在方向D1の両方向のうち、一方の方向を第一延在方向D11といい、他方の方向を第二延在方向D12という。図1では、上方が第一延在方向D11となり、下方が第二延在方向D12となる。筒部31は、脱気エレメント2の周囲を囲うように脱気エレメント2を収容している。本実施形態では、筒部31は、脱気エレメント2の延在方向D2が、筒部31の延在方向D1と一致するように、脱気エレメント2を収容している。このため、筒部31の延在方向D1と脱気エレメント2の延在方向D2とは同じ方向となっている。
 第一蓋部32は、筒部31の第一延在方向D11側の開口を覆うように、筒部31の第一延在方向D11側の端部に接続されている。第二蓋部33は、筒部31の第二延在方向D12側の開口を覆うように、筒部31の第二延在方向D12側の端部に接続されている。第一蓋部32及び第二蓋部33は、筒部31に対して着脱可能に接続されている。そして、ハウジング3では、筒部31に対して第一蓋部32及び第二蓋部33の少なくとも一方を外すことで、筒部31から脱気エレメント2を取り出して交換することが可能となっている。筒部31に対する第一蓋部32及び第二蓋部33の着脱可能な接続は、例えば、螺合、嵌合等により行うことができる。
 大容量の液体Lの脱気を可能とする観点から、ハウジング3内の容積は、例えば、10 L以上、好ましくは20 L以上、より好ましくは40 L以上である。また、筒部31の内径は、例えば、10 cm以上、好ましくは15 cm以上、より好ましくは20 cm以上である。また、筒部31の延在方向D2における長さは、例えば、20 cm以上、好ましくは30 cm以上、より好ましくは40 cm以上である。
 ハウジング3内の容積の上限、筒部31の延在方向D2における長さの上限、及び筒部31の内径の上限は、特に限定されるものではない。製造容易性及び設置容易性等の観点から、ハウジング3内の容積は、例えば、80 L以下、好ましくは70 L以下、より好ましくは60 L以下であってもよい。また、筒部31の内径は、例えば、50 cm以下、好ましくは40 cm以下、より好ましくは30 cm以下であってもよい。また、筒部31の延在方向D2における長さは、例えば、70 cm以下、好ましくは60 cm以下、より好ましくは50 cm以下であってもよい。
 これらの観点から、ハウジング3内の容積は、例えば、10 L以上80 L以下、好ましくは20 L以上70 L以下、より好ましくは30 L以上60 L以下であってもよい。また、筒部31の内径は、例えば、10 cm以上50 cm以下、好ましくは15 cm以上40 cm以下、より好ましくは20 cm以上30 cm以下であってもよい。また、筒部31の延在方向D2における長さは、例えば、20 cm以上70 cm以下、好ましくは30 cm以上60 cm以下、より好ましくは40 cm以上50 cm以下であってもよい。
 閉塞部5は、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aの第一延在方向D21側の端部21fを塞いでいる。つまり、閉塞部5は、液体流通パイプ21の第一延在方向D21側の端部21fにおいて、液体流通路21aを塞いでいる。閉塞部5は、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aの第一延在方向D21側の端部に嵌め込まれている。閉塞部5は、プラグ等とも呼ばれる。なお、閉塞部5は、第一蓋部32と一体的に形成されていてもよい。閉塞部5は、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aに供給された液体Lが液体流通パイプ21から第一延在方向D21に排出されるのを阻止する。このため、液体Lは、液体流通パイプ21から第一延在方向D21に排出されることなく、液体流通パイプ21に形成された複数の開口21dから液体流通パイプ21の径方向外側に排出される。
 なお、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aには、閉塞部5以外に、液体Lの延在方向D2への移動を阻止する部材が設けられていない。
 仕切部7は、ハウジング3内の領域を、複数の中空糸膜22を境界として、内部領域R1と外部領域R2とに仕切る。外部領域R2は、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aを含む領域であり、液体Lが供給される液相領域となる。内部領域R1は、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aを含む領域であり、液体Lから脱気されたガスが流通する気相領域となる。このため、中空糸膜22の膜が、気相領域である内部領域R1と液相領域である外部領域R2との境界となる。つまり、中空糸膜22の内側(中空部22a)が内部領域R1となり、中空糸膜22の外側が外部領域R2となる。そして、複数の中空糸膜22は、外部領域R2から内部領域R1への液体Lの透過を阻止し、外部領域R2から内部領域R1へのガスG(液体Lの溶存気体、液体Lに含まれる気泡等)の透過を許容する。なお、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aは、液体流通パイプ21に形成された複数の開口21dにより液体流通パイプ21の外側と連通されているため、外部領域R2には、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aに連通された液体流通パイプ21の外側の空間S2も含まれる。
 仕切部7は、第一仕切部71と、第二仕切部72と、を有する。第一仕切部71は、脱気エレメント2の第一固定部24と筒部31との間を封止している。また、第二仕切部72は、脱気エレメント2の第二固定部25と筒部31との間を封止している。
 このため、第一固定部24及び第一仕切部71は、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aが第一延在方向D21側に開口するように、液体流通パイプ21の第一延在方向D21側の端部と、複数の中空糸膜22の第一延在方向D21側の端部と、筒部31と、の間を封止する第一封止部として機能する。また、第二固定部25及び第二仕切部72は、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aが第二延在方向D22側に開口するように、液体流通パイプ21の第二延在方向D22側の端部と、複数の中空糸膜22の第二延在方向D22側の端部と、筒部31と、の間を封止する第二封止部として機能する。そして、第一封止部として機能する第一固定部24及び第一仕切部71と第二封止部として機能する第二固定部25及び第二仕切部72とは、筒部31内の領域を、複数の中空糸膜22を境界として、内部領域R1と外部領域R2とに仕切っている。
 ここで、第一封止部として機能する第一固定部24及び第一仕切部71と第二封止部として機能する第二固定部25及び第二仕切部72との間における中空糸膜束23の延在方向D2における長さを、中空糸膜束23の長さL23という。中空糸膜束23の長さL23は、中空糸膜束23の脱気膜として機能する部分の延在方向D2における長さである。このため、中空糸膜束23の第一封止部及び第二封止部で封止されている部分は、脱気膜として機能しないため、中空糸膜束23の長さL23から除外される。本開示では、第一仕切部71及び第二仕切部72は、中空糸膜束23から離間した位置にあるため、中空糸膜束23の長さL23は、第一固定部24と第二固定部25との間における中空糸膜束23の延在方向D1における長さとなる。
 また、第一封止部として機能する第一固定部24及び第一仕切部71と第二封止部として機能する第二固定部25及び第二仕切部72との間における中空糸膜束23の太さを、中空糸膜束23の太さD23とする。中空糸膜束23の太さD23は、中空糸膜束23の脱気膜として機能する部分の太さである。このため、中空糸膜束23の第一封止部及び第二封止部で封止されている部分は、脱気膜として機能しないため、中空糸膜束23の太さD23から除外される。本開示では、中空糸膜束23の太さD23は、第一固定部24と第二固定部25との間における中空糸膜束23の太さとなる。中空糸膜束23の太さD23が延在方向D1において異なる場合は、中空糸膜束23の太さD23は、第二固定部25と第二仕切部72との間における中空糸膜束23の最大太さである。中空糸膜束23は、複数の中空糸膜22が円筒状に束ねられて構成されているため、本開示では、複数の中空糸膜22の外接円の太さ(直径)を、中空糸膜束23の太さD23とする。中空糸膜束23の太さD23は、中空糸膜束23の直径でもある。
 そして、中空糸膜束23の長さL23に対する中空糸膜束23の太さD23の比率(D23/L23)は、0.3以上、好ましくは0.35以上、より好ましくは0.38以上となっている。中空糸膜束23の長さL23に対する中空糸膜束23の太さD23の比率(D23/L23)の上限値は、特に限定されるものではない。脱気モジュール1の外径が大きくなりすぎるのを抑制する観点から、中空糸膜束23の長さL23に対する中空糸膜束23の太さD23の比率(D23/L23)は、例えば、1以下、好ましくは0.8以下、より好ましくは0.6以下であってもよい。
 中空糸膜束23の長さL23は、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、20 cm以上70 cm以下、好ましくは30 cm以上60 cm以下、より好ましくは40 cm以上50 cm以下であってもよい。中空糸膜束23の太さD23は、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、10 cm以上50 cm以下、好ましくは15 cm以上40 cm以下、より好ましくは20 cm以上30 cm以下であってもよい。
 脱気エレメント2の第一延在方向D21側には、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aに連通された第一端連通空間S3が形成されている。また、脱気エレメント2の第二延在方向D22側には、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aに連通された第二端連通空間S4が形成されている。第一端連通空間S3及び第二端連通空間S4は、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aに連通されているため、内部領域R1の一部でもある。
 第一端連通空間S3は、脱気エレメント2の第一固定部24、第一仕切部71、及び第一蓋部32に囲まれた空間である。また、第一端連通空間S3は、脱気エレメント2の第一エレメント端部2aの第一延在方向D21側に隣接した空間である。また、第一端連通空間S3は、脱気エレメント2の第一端中空糸膜開口22bに隣接した空間である。
 第二端連通空間S4は、脱気エレメント2の第二固定部25、第二仕切部72、及び第二蓋部33に囲まれた空間である。また、第二端連通空間S4は、脱気エレメント2の第二エレメント端部2bの第二延在方向D22側に隣接した空間である。また、第二端連通空間S4は、脱気エレメント2の第二端中空糸膜開口22cに隣接した空間である。
 空間S2は、脱気エレメント2の液体流通パイプ21、複数の中空糸膜22、第一固定部24、及び第二固定部25と、筒部31と、第一仕切部71と、第二仕切部72と、に囲まれた空間である。また、空間S2は、脱気エレメント2の第一固定部24及び第一仕切部71の第二延在方向D22側に隣接するとともに脱気エレメント2の第二固定部25及び第二仕切部72の第一延在方向D21側に隣接した空間である。
 また、第一仕切部71は、脱気エレメント2の第一固定部24と筒部31との間を封止することで、脱気エレメント2の第一固定部24を筒部31に固定している。第二仕切部72は、脱気エレメント2の第二固定部25と筒部31との間を封止することで、脱気エレメント2の第二固定部25を筒部31に固定している。第一仕切部71及び第二仕切部72は、例えば、樹脂により形成されている。
 ハウジング3は、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aに液体Lを供給するための液体供給ポート35と、液体流通パイプ21から出た液体Lを排出するための液体排出ポート36と、複数の中空糸膜22を透過したガスを排出するためのガスポートである第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39と、を有している。なお、真空モードで液体Lを脱気する場合、第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39は、真空ポート等とも呼ばれる。液体供給ポート35、液体排出ポート36、第一端ガスポート38、及び第二端ガスポート39は、ハウジング3と一体的に構成されていてもよく、ハウジング3とは別の部材であってもよい。
 液体供給ポート35は、第二蓋部33に設けられて、ハウジング3の内外を連通するポートである。液体供給ポート35は、第二蓋部33からハウジング3の内側にパイプ状に延びて、液体流通パイプ21の第二延在方向D22側の端部21eに接続されている。そして、液体供給ポート35は、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aに連通されている。
 液体排出ポート36は、筒部31に設けられて、ハウジング3の内外を連通するポートである。液体排出ポート36は、例えば、筒部31の第一延在方向D11側の端部近傍に設けられている。液体排出ポート36は、空間S2に隣接して、空間S2に連通されている。
 第一端ガスポート38は、第一蓋部32に設けられて、ハウジング3の内外を連通するポートである。第一端ガスポート38は、第一端連通空間S3に隣接して、第一端連通空間S3に連通されている。
 第二端ガスポート39は、第二蓋部33に設けられて、ハウジング3の内外を連通するポートである。第二端ガスポート39は、第二端連通空間S4に隣接して、第二端連通空間S4に連通されている。
[液体の脱気方法]
 次に、脱気モジュール1を用いた液体Lの脱気方法について説明する。ここでは、液体Lの脱気方法の一例として、真空モードにより液体Lを脱気する方法について説明する。
 この脱気方法では、脱気モジュール1の第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39を吸引するとともに、脱気モジュール1の液体供給ポート35に液体Lを供給する。第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39の吸引は、例えば、配管等を介して真空ポンプ等の吸引装置(不図示)と第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39とを接続し、この吸引装置を作動させることにより行うことができる。液体供給ポート35への液体Lの供給は、例えば、配管等を介して液体Lを送り出す送液ポンプ等の液体供給装置(不図示)と液体供給ポート35とを接続し、この液体供給装置を作動させることにより行うことができる。
 第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39を吸引すると、第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39に連通された内部領域R1が吸引され、内部領域R1が減圧された状態となる。また、液体供給ポート35に液体Lを供給すると、液体Lは、液体供給ポート35に連通された外部領域R2に供給される。液体供給ポート35に供給された液体Lは、液体流通パイプ21の液体流通路21aに供給される。そして、液体Lは、液体流通パイプ21の複数の開口21dから空間S2に排出され、複数の中空糸膜22に接触する。このとき、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aが減圧された状態となっているため、液体Lの溶存気体、液体Lに含まれる気泡等のガスGが複数の中空糸膜22を透過する。これにより液体Lが脱気される。空間S2に排出されて脱気された液体Lは、液体排出ポート36から排出される。複数の中空糸膜22を透過したガスGは、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22a、第一端連通空間S3、及び第二端連通空間S4を通って、第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39から排出される。
 以上説明したように、本実施形態に係る脱気モジュール1では、中空糸膜束23の長さL23に対する中空糸膜束23の太さD23の比率(D23/L23)が0.3以上、好ましくは0.35以上、より好ましくは0.38以上であるため、中空糸膜束23の延在方向D1における単位長さ当たりの中空糸膜22の数又は複数の中空糸膜22の膜面積を大きくすることができる。これにより、脱気性能の低下を抑制することができる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、液体供給ポート35が、液体流通パイプ21の第二延在方向D22側の端部21eに接続されており、液体流通パイプ21の第一延在方向D21側の端部21fが、塞がれている。このため、第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39を吸引して液体供給ポート35に液体Lを供給すると、液体Lは、液体流通パイプ21に供給され、複数の開口21dから液体流通パイプ21の外側に出て、複数の中空糸膜22に接触して脱気される。その後、複数の中空糸膜22に接触して脱気された液体Lは、液体流通パイプ21に戻ることなく、液体排出ポート36から排出される。つまり、液体Lは、複数の中空糸膜22を液体流通パイプ21に押し付ける方向に流れて行かずに、複数の中空糸膜22を液体流通パイプ21から離す方向に流れて行く。これにより、液体Lが複数の中空糸膜22を通過する際の圧力損失の増加を抑制することができるため、液体Lの流量の低下を抑制することができる。その結果、例えば、脱気モジュール1に液体Lを供給するための液体供給装置として比較的低出力のものを採用することができる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、第一封止部として機能する第一固定部24及び第一仕切部71と第二封止部として機能する第二固定部25及び第二仕切部72とが、筒部31内の領域を、気相領域となる内部領域R1と液相領域となる外部領域R2とに仕切る。このため、内部領域R1と外部領域R2とを容易に仕切ることができる。なお、外部領域R2は、液体Lが流通する液相領域となり、内部領域R1は、複数の中空糸膜22を透過したガスGが流通する気相領域となる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、筒部31の両端部に第一蓋部32及び第二蓋部33が接続されており、液体供給ポート35が第二蓋部33に設けられており、液体排出ポート36が筒部31に設けられており、第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39が第一蓋部32及び第二蓋部33に設けられているため、脱気モジュール1を容易に製造することができる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、第一蓋部32が、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aに連通される第一端連通空間S3を形成しており、第一端ガスポート38が、第一端連通空間S3に隣接して第一端連通空間S3に連通されている。このため、第一延在方向D21側の端から複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aを吸引することができる脱気モジュール1を容易に製造することができる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、第二蓋部33が、複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aに連通される第二端連通空間S4を形成しており、第二端ガスポート39が、第二端連通空間S4に隣接して第二端連通空間S4に連通されている。このため、第二延在方向D22側の端から複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aを吸引することができる脱気モジュール1を容易に製造することができる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、第一蓋部32及び第二蓋部33の少なくとも一方が筒部31に対して着脱可能に接続されているため、筒部31に対して第一蓋部32及び第二蓋部33の少なくとも一方を外すことで、筒部31から脱気エレメント2を取り出して交換することが可能となる。これにより、脱気モジュール1の寿命を大幅に延ばすことができる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、ハウジング3の容積が10L以上、好ましくは20 L以上、より好ましくは40 L以上であるため、大容量の液体Lを供給して脱気することができる。ここで、大流量の水を脱気モジュール1に供給すると、気相領域である内部領域R1の真空度は大きく変わらないのに対し、液相領域である外部領域R2の脱気対象となるガスの分圧が高まるため、気相領域と液相領域との間の脱気対象となるガスの分圧差が増加する。その結果、脱気対象のガスが高濃度で脱気される。このため、大流量の水を脱気モジュール1に供給することで、脱気対象のガスを高濃度で脱気することができる。しかも、中空糸膜束23の長さL23に対する中空糸膜束23の太さD23の比率(D23/L23)が0.3以上、好ましくは0.35以上、より好ましくは0.38以上であるため、大流量の水を脱気モジュール1に供給しても、脱気性能の低下を抑制することができる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、複数の中空糸膜22のそれぞれの太さが10μm以上1000μm以下、好ましくは100 μm以上500 μm以下であるため、中空糸膜22の破断を抑制することができるとともに、中空糸膜22の数を多くして大きな膜面積を得ることができる。
 また、この脱気モジュール1では、複数の中空糸膜22のそれぞれが緻密層22dを有するため、液相領域である外部領域R2から気相領域である内部領域R1に透過する水蒸気量を少なくすることができる。これにより、液体からガスを高濃度で脱気することができる。
 ここで、中空糸膜22として緻密層と多孔質層とを有する非対称膜を用いた脱気モジュール1と、中空糸膜22として微多孔膜を用いた脱気モジュール1と、を用いて水の脱気を行い、気相領域である内部領域R1の真空度[torr]と、中空糸膜22の水蒸気透過量[L/min]と、を計測した。気相領域である内部領域R1の真空度は、第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39に接続される配管に取り付けられた真空計により計測した。中空糸膜22の水蒸気透過量は、第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39から回収したガスに含まれる水蒸気量により計測した。結果を図10に示す。
 図10は、気相領域の真空度と中空糸膜の水蒸気透過量との関係を示すグラフである。図10において、破線Aは、中空糸膜22として緻密層と多孔質層とを有する非対称膜を用いた脱気モジュール1の計測結果を示しており、実線Bは、中空糸膜22として微多孔膜を用いた脱気モジュール1の計測結果を示している。図10に示すように、同じ真空度で見ると、中空糸膜22として微多孔膜を用いるよりも、中空糸膜22として緻密層と多孔質層とを有する非対称膜を用いる方が、水蒸気透過量が格段に少なくなっていることが分かる。これは、緻密層が水蒸気の透過を大きく制限したことによるものと推察される。このような結果からも、複数の中空糸膜22のそれぞれが緻密層22dを有することで、液相領域である外部領域R2から気相領域である内部領域R1に透過する水蒸気量を少なくすることができ、これにより、液体からガスを高濃度で脱気することができることが分かる。
 本開示に係る液体の脱気方法では、上記の脱気モジュール1において、第一端ガスポート38及び第二端ガスポート39から複数の中空糸膜22の中空部22aを吸引するとともに、液体供給ポート35から液体流通パイプ21に液体Lを供給することで、液体Lを脱気する。このため、脱気性能の低下を抑制することができる。
 また、この液体の脱気方法では、液体供給ポート35から液体流通パイプ21に液体Lとして水を供給するため、水からガスを高濃度で脱気することができる。
 以上、本開示の好適な実施形態について説明したが、本開示は上記実施形態に限定されるものではない。
 例えば、上記実施形態では、液体排出ポートは、筒部の第一延在方向側の端部近傍に設けられているものとして説明したが、筒部のいかなる位置に設けられていてもよい。図11は、他の例の脱気モジュールの概略断面図である。図11に示す脱気モジュール1Aでは、液体排出ポート36は、筒部31の延在方向D1における中央部に設けられている。
 また、上記実施形態では、ガスポートが第一蓋部及び第二蓋部の双方に設けられるものとして説明したが、第一蓋部及び第二蓋部の何れか一方のみの設けられていてもよい。
 また、上記実施形態では、液体を特に何の処理も行わずに液体供給ポートから液体流通パイプに供給するものとして説明したが、液体を加熱して液体供給ポートから液体流通パイプに供給してもよく、液体に酸を加えて液体を液体供給ポートから液体流通パイプに供給してもよい。
 図12は、他の例の脱気モジュールの概略断面図である。図12に示す脱気モジュール1Bは、基本的に上記実施形態に係る脱気モジュール1と同様であるが、液体供給ポート35に供給する液体Lを加熱する加熱装置8を更に備えている。加熱装置8は、例えば、液体供給ポート35に接続された配管10に取り付けられており、配管10を加熱することで配管10を流れる液体Lを加熱するように構成されている。加熱装置8としては、例えば、熱交換器を用いることができる。このように、液体供給ポート35に供給する液体Lを加熱する加熱装置8を備えることで、液体供給ポート35には、加熱された液体Lが供給される。液体Lに溶解しているガスGは、加熱されることで遊離しやすくなる。このため、液体LからガスGを高濃度で脱気することができる。
 図13は、他の例の脱気モジュールの概略断面図である。図13に示す脱気モジュール1Cは、基本的に上記実施形態に係る脱気モジュール1と同様であるが、液体供給ポート35に供給する液体Lに酸を加える酸添加装置9を更に備えている。酸添加装置9は、例えば、液体供給ポート35に接続された配管10に取り付けられており、配管10に酸を供給することで液体Lに酸を加えるように構成されている。液体Lに加える酸としては、例えば、塩酸、次亜塩素酸、硫酸、硝酸、リン酸、ホウ酸、酢酸、クエン酸、ギ酸、シュウ酸が挙げられる。このように、液体供給ポート35に供給する液体Lに酸を加える酸添加装置9を備えることで、液体供給ポート35には、酸化された液体Lが供給される。液体Lに溶解している二酸化炭素等のガスGは、酸化されることで遊離しやすくなる。このため、液体Lから二酸化炭素等のガスGを高濃度で脱気することができる。

Claims (9)

  1.  複数の開口が形成されて内部に液体流通路が形成された液体流通パイプと、
     複数の中空糸膜が前記複数の開口を覆うように前記液体流通パイプの周囲に配置された中空糸膜束と、
     前記液体流通パイプ及び前記中空糸膜束を収容する筒部と、
     前記複数の中空糸膜の中空部が前記液体流通パイプの延在方向における一方の方向である第一延在方向側に開口するように、前記液体流通パイプの前記第一延在方向側の端部と、前記複数の中空糸膜の前記第一延在方向側の端部と、前記筒部との間を封止する第一封止部と、
     前記複数の中空糸膜の中空部が前記延在方向における前記第一延在方向とは反対の方向である第二延在方向側に開口するように、前記液体流通パイプの前記第二延在方向側の端部と、前記複数の中空糸膜の前記第二延在方向側の端部と、前記筒部と、の間を封止する第二封止部と、
     前記液体流通パイプに液体を供給するための液体供給ポートと、
     前記筒部に設けられて前記液体流通パイプから出た前記液体を排出するための液体排出ポートと、
     前記複数の中空糸膜を透過したガスを排出するためのガスポートと、を備え、
     前記第一封止部と前記第二封止部との間における前記中空糸膜束の前記延在方向における長さに対する、前記第一封止部と前記第二封止部との間における前記中空糸膜束の太さの比率は、0.3以上である、
    脱気モジュール。
  2.  前記第一封止部及び前記第二封止部は、前記筒部内の領域を、前記複数の中空糸膜を境界として、前記複数の中空糸膜の前記中空部を含む内部領域と前記液体流通パイプの中空部を含む外部領域とに仕切る、
    請求項1に記載の脱気モジュール。
  3.  前記筒部の前記第一延在方向側の端部に接続される第一蓋部と、
     前記筒部の前記第二延在方向側の端部に接続される第二蓋部と、を更に備え、
     前記液体供給ポートは、前記第二蓋部に設けられており、
     前記液体排出ポートは、前記筒部に設けられており、
     前記ガスポートは、前記第一蓋部及び前記第二蓋部の少なくとも一方に設けられている、
    請求項1に記載の脱気モジュール。
  4.  前記第一蓋部は、前記複数の中空糸膜の前記中空部に連通される第一端連通空間を形成しており、
     前記ガスポートは、前記第一端連通空間に隣接して前記第一端連通空間に連通される第一端ガスポートを有する、
    請求項3に記載の脱気モジュール。
  5.  前記第二蓋部は、前記複数の中空糸膜の前記中空部に連通される第二端連通空間を形成しており、
     前記ガスポートは、前記第二端連通空間に隣接して前記第二端連通空間に連通される第二端ガスポートを有する、
    請求項3に記載の脱気モジュール。
  6.  前記筒部には、複数の中空糸膜の前記延在方向における両端部が前記液体流通パイプの前記延在方向における両端部に固定されてなる脱気エレメントが収容されており、
     前記第一蓋部及び前記第二蓋部の少なくとも一方は、前記筒部に対して着脱可能に接続されている、
    請求項3に記載の脱気モジュール。
  7.  前記筒部、前記第一蓋部、及び前記第二蓋部を有するハウジングの容積は、10L以上である、
    請求項3に記載の脱気モジュール。
  8.  前記複数の中空糸膜のそれぞれの太さは、10μm以上1000μm以下である、
    請求項1に記載の脱気モジュール。
  9.  請求項1~8の何れか一項に記載の脱気モジュールを用いて液体を脱気する液体の脱気方法であって、
     前記ガスポートから前記複数の中空糸膜の前記中空部を吸引するとともに、前記液体供給ポートから前記液体流通パイプに前記液体を供給する、
    液体の脱気方法。
