 本発明は、パッチパネルに関する。
 本願は、2024年2月2日に日本に出願された特願2024-014798号について優先権を主張し、その内容をここに援用する。
 特許文献1には、光配線システムの一部としての光キャビネットが開示されている。光キャビネットの内部には、光ケーブルに含まれる光ファイバの接続先を切り替えることが可能なパッチパネルが配置されている。通常、光ケーブルに含まれる複数の光ファイバは、いわゆるブレークアウトキットによって分岐されたうえで、パッチパネルに導入される。
米国特許第10866378号明細書
 このような光配線システムにおいては、光ケーブルに含まれる光ファイバを分岐させるための構成を簡素化することが求められる。
 本発明はこのような事情を考慮してなされ、混線を防止することが可能なパッチパネルを提供することを目的とする。
 上記課題を解決するために、本発明の態様1に係るパッチパネルは、パッチパネル筐体と、前記パッチパネル筐体に導入された光ケーブルと、前記光ケーブルに含まれる複数の第1光ファイバと、複数の第2光ファイバと、の融着接続部を保持する融着スリーブ保持部と、前記複数の第2光ファイバに接続された複数のアダプタと、を備える。前記パッチパネル筐体は、左右方向において、第1収納領域、第2収納領域,第3収納領域、および第4収納領域に区画され、前記第1収納領域に前記融着スリーブ保持部が配置され、前記第2収納領域、前記第3収納領域、および前記第4収納領域がそれぞれ有する前壁部に、前記複数のアダプタが取り付けられている。
 本発明の態様2は、態様1に係るパッチパネルであって、前記光ケーブルには24本の前記第1光ファイバが含まれ、前記第2収納領域、前記第3収納領域、および前記第4収納領域にはそれぞれ、8本の前記第2光ファイバが導入されていてもよい。
 本発明の態様3は、態様1または2に係るパッチパネルであって、複数の前記第2光ファイバは、複数の4心のテープ心線を構成し、前記第2収納領域、前記第3収納領域、および前記第4収納領域にはそれぞれ、2本の前記テープ心線が導入され、前記第2収納領域、前記第3収納領域、および前記第4収納領域の内側で、前記テープ心線は分岐されて、前記アダプタにそれぞれ接続されていてもよい。
 本発明の上記態様によれば、光ケーブルに含まれる光ファイバを分岐させるための構成を簡素化することが可能なパッチパネルを提供することができる。

 以下、本実施形態の光キャビネット、パッチパネル、接続ユニット、および、これらの構成要素を含む光配線システムについて説明する。
 図1に示すように、光配線システム1は、光キャビネット2および複数のパッチパネル3を含んでいる。光キャビネット2には、光ケーブルC1が導入されている。光キャビネット2および複数のパッチパネル3は、複数の光ケーブルC2によって接続されている。光キャビネット2およびパッチパネル3は、同じ部屋あるいは建物に配置されていなくてもよい。
<方向定義>
 図において、Z軸によって上下方向を表し、X軸によって左右方向を表し、Y軸によって前後方向を表す。+Z側が上方、-Z側が下方である。+X側が右方、-X側が左方である。+Y側が前方、-Y側が後方である。通常、使用者は、光キャビネット2の前方あるいはパッチパネル3の前方または後方から操作を行う。ただし、光キャビネット2とパッチパネル3とで、左右方向Xおよび前後方向Yが一致している必要はない。
<光キャビネット2>
 図1に示すように、光キャビネット2は、キャビネット筐体100を有している。キャビネット筐体100は、上部101と下部102とに分割されている。下部102には、複数の導入口102aが設けられている。一部の導入口102aは、パネル102bによって塞がれている。図1では前方の導入口102aから光ケーブルC1が導入され、側方の導入口102aから光ケーブルC2が導入されている。ただし、光ケーブルC1、C2をキャビネット筐体100内部に導入するために、前方の導入口102a及び側方の導入口102aの両方を用いず、側方の導入口102aのみ、あるいは前方の導入口102aのみを用いてもよい。
 上部101には、2つのキャビネット扉103が設けられている。図2は、キャビネット扉103および光ケーブルC1、C2を省略した、光キャビネット2の正面図である。図2に示すように、キャビネット筐体100の内部は、第1仮想線O1および第2仮想線O2によって、4つの領域A1~A4に分けられている。第1仮想線O1は上下方向Zに延び、第2仮想線O2は第1仮想線O1に直交する左右方向Xに延びている。第1仮想線O1は、左右方向Xにおけるキャビネット筐体100の中央に位置する。第1領域A1および第2領域A2は、第1仮想線O1より左方に位置する。第3領域A3よび第4領域A4は、第1仮想線O1より右方に位置する。第1領域A1、第3領域A3は、第2仮想線O2より上方に位置する。第2領域A2、第4領域A4は、第2仮想線O2より下方に位置する。
 キャビネット筐体100の内部には、2つのダクト104が設けられている。2つのダクト104は、上下方向Zに延びており、上下方向Zにおいて領域A2、A4の全体と重なっている。また、2つのダクト104は、第2仮想線O2の近傍(キャビネット筐体100の中央近傍)に、左右方向Xに並べて配置されている。
 ダクト104は、左右方向Xにおいて、第2領域A2と第4領域A4との間に位置している。図2では光ケーブルC1、C2の図示を省略しているが、光ケーブルC1、C2には、複数の通信キャリアの光回線が含まれる場合がある。本実施形態では、4つの領域A1~A4に、互いに異なる通信キャリアの光回線を割り当てることができる。例えば、第1領域A1に対応する通信キャリアの光回線は、左側のダクト104を通して、導入口102aから第1領域A1に導入される。同様に、第3領域A3に対応する通信キャリアの光回線は、右側のダクト104を通して、導入口102aから第3領域A3に導入される。このように、ダクト104を用いることで、異なる通信キャリア間での混線を抑止することができる。
 4つの領域A1~A4にはそれぞれ、領域カバー107が設けられている。図3は、領域A1について、領域カバー107を外した状態の拡大図である。図3に示すように、第1領域A1には、複数(図では4つ)の接続ユニット4が配置されている。図示は省略するが、領域A2~A4にも同様に、複数の接続ユニット4が配置されている。ダクト104の内側には、光ケーブルC2の少なくとも一部が挿通される。光ケーブルC2には複数の配線Wが含まれている。「配線W」は、例えば、複数の光ファイバを含む光コード等である。図3では、一部の配線Wの経路を、破線によって表している。キャビネット筐体100の内部であって、ダクト104の上方には、湾曲ガイド105および保持部材106が設けられている。一部の配線Wは、湾曲ガイド105によって保持されるとともに、接続ユニット4に導入される。また、一部の配線Wは、湾曲ガイド105および保持部材106によって保持されるとともに、接続ユニット4に導入される。
 図4は、図3のIV部の拡大斜視図である。図4に示すように、湾曲ガイド105は、取付部105aと、板部105bと、曲面105cと、クランプ105dと、ガイド壁105eと、を有する。取付部105aは、キャビネット筐体100に取り付けられる部分である。板部105bは、取付部105aから前方に延びており、前後方向Yおよび上下方向Zに平行な板状である。板部105bは、曲面105cおよびクランプ105dを支持している。曲面105cは、上方に向けて凸であり、板部105bから左右方向Xに突出している。ガイド壁105eは、板部105bと平行な板状である。ガイド壁105eと板部105bとの間に曲面105cが挟まれている。
 図4に示すように、保持部材106は、取付部106aと、板部106bと、保持部106cと、を有する。取付部106aは、キャビネット筐体100に取り付けられる部分である。板部106bは、取付部106aから前方に延びており、前後方向Yおよび上下方向Zに平行な板状である。板部106bは、保持部106cを支持している。保持部106cは、板部105bとの間で、配線Wを保持することができる。
 図5は、図4のV-V断面矢視図である。図5では、湾曲ガイド105が支持する配線Wを破線によって示している。曲面105cは下方から配線Wを支持する。また、クランプ105dは、曲面105cによって支持された配線Wをクランプする。板部105bおよびガイド壁105eは、左右方向Xにおける配線Wの位置を規制することができる。
 図3に示すように、光ケーブルC1に含まれる配線Wの一部は、湾曲ガイド105を経由して、接続ユニット4に導入される。例えば配線Wは、曲面105cと取付部105aとの間の空間(図5参照)を通され、曲面105c上に載置され、自重によって曲面105cの前方に垂れ下がる。このとき、配線Wの曲げ半径は曲面105cによって決まる。つまり、曲面105cよりも小さい半径で配線Wに曲げが生じることが規制される。これにより、光ファイバに局所的な側圧が作用することを抑制することができる。したがって、光ファイバの伝送損失が増大することを抑制することができる。
 さらに、光ケーブルC2に含まれる配線Wの一部は、保持部材106を経由して、接続ユニット4に導入される。このとき、保持部106cによって、前後方向Yにおける配線Wの位置が規制される。したがって、配線Wが所定位置よりも前方に位置してキャビネット扉103と接触すること等を抑制することができる。
<接続ユニット4>
 図6に示すように、接続ユニット4は、ユニット筐体10と、複数のトレイ20と、を備えている。複数のトレイ20は、上下方向Zに並べて配置され、前後方向Yにスライド可能に構成されている。ユニット筐体10は、上壁11と、2つの横壁12と、下壁13と、ユニット扉14と、2つのユニットヒンジ15と、2つのノブ16と、を有する。上壁11および下壁13は左右方向Xおよび前後方向Yに延びる板状であり、上下方向Zに間隔を空けて配置されている。2つの横壁12は、左右方向Xに間隔を空けて配置されている。なお、図6において、左側(-X側)の横壁12の表示は省略されている。2つの横壁12が、左右方向Xにおけるトレイ20の両端部を、スライド可能に支持している。詳細は後述するが、横壁12の前壁(横前壁12a)には複数の開口12bが形成されている。開口12bの数は、接続ユニット4に含まれるトレイ20の数に対応している。
 2つのユニットヒンジ15は、ユニット扉14の下端部と、下壁13の前端部と、の間に配置されている。ユニット扉14は、ユニットヒンジ15を中心として回動可能である。図7は、ユニット扉14をユニットヒンジ15回りに回動させ、開いた状態を示す。また、図7では、最も下方のトレイ20が前方に引き出されている。ユニット扉14には、2つの挿通孔14aが形成されている。2つの挿通孔14aは、上下方向Zに延びており、左右方向Xにおいて間隔を空けて配置されている。
 図8に示すように、トレイ20には、第1の光ファイバ群F1と、第2の光ファイバ群F2と、が導入される。例えば、第1の光ファイバ群F1は光ケーブルC1に含まれる光ファイバであり、第2の光ファイバ群F2は光ケーブルC2に含まれる光ファイバである(図1参照)。トレイ20は、光ファイバF1、F2の融着接続部を保持する役割を有する。言い換えると、接続ユニット4は、光ケーブルC1、C2の接続部を保持する役割を有する。
 トレイ20は、第1導入部21と、第2導入部22と、トレイ前壁23と、2つのレール24と、2つの規制片25と、2つの係止片26と、トレイ底壁27と、複数の保持リブ28と、を有する。第1導入部21は、第1の光ファイバ群F1をトレイ20内に導入するための部位である。第2導入部22は、第2の光ファイバ群F2をトレイ20内に導入するための部位である。第1導入部21および第2導入部22は、左右方向Xにおけるトレイ20の両端に位置している。第1導入部21および第2導入部22にはそれぞれ、複数の隔壁が設けられており、隔壁同士の間に光ファイバF1、F2が通される。
 トレイ前壁23は、第1導入部21および第2導入部22の前方に位置しており、左右方向Xに延びている。トレイ前壁23には、2つのトレイ操作部23aが形成されている。トレイ操作部23aは、左右方向Xにおいて間隔を空けて配置され、トレイ前壁23から前方に突出している。トレイ操作部23aは、左右方向Xおよび前後方向Yに延びる四角形の板状である。トレイ20をユニット筐体10に対して前方に引き出す際、使用者は、トレイ操作部23aをつまんで操作することができる。このような形状のトレイ操作部23aを採用することで、上下方向Zにおけるトレイ20の厚さを小さくし、より多くのトレイ20を複数の接続ユニット4に含めることができる。
 例えば、トレイ操作部23aに、光ファイバF1、F2を識別するための識別部を設けてもよい。識別部の具体例としては、光ファイバF1、F2が属する通信キャリアにおける配線番号等が挙げられる。識別部は、トレイ操作部23aに刻印されていてもよい。あるいは、識別部としてのシール等がトレイ操作部23aに接着されていてもよい。図6に示すように、ユニット扉14が閉じた状態でも、トレイ操作部23aは挿通孔14aを通して前方に突出する。したがって使用者は、ユニット扉14が閉じた状態でも、トレイ操作部23aおよび識別部を視認することができる。
 図8に示すように、2つのレール24は、第1導入部21および第2導入部22から後方に延びている。各レール24は、横前壁12aに形成された開口12bの内側に通されている(図7参照)。1つのレール24に対して、1つの規制片25および係止片26が形成されている。規制片25はレール24の後端部に位置し、係止片26はレール24の前端部に位置している。規制片25の後端部には、規制突起25aが形成されている。規制片25の前端部を基点として、規制片25は上下方向Zに弾性変形可能である。係止片26の前端部には、係止突起26aが形成されている。係止片26の後端部を基点として、係止片26は上下方向Zに弾性変形可能である。
 図9は、図7のIX部を拡大した、左右方向Xに直交する断面図である。図9に示すように、規制突起25aは、上下方向Zに延びて前方を向く平面(当接面)を有している。トレイ20が前方に引き出されると、規制突起25aの当接面が、横前壁12aに当接する。これにより、トレイ20が所定の位置を超えて前方に移動することが規制される。また、規制片25を下方に弾性変形させることで、トレイ20をユニット筐体10から取り外すことができる。
 図9に示すように、係止突起26aは、上方に凸の曲面を有している。トレイ20がユニット筐体10内に収納された状態(図6)において、係止突起26aは横前壁12aの後方に位置する。この状態からトレイ20を前方に移動させると、係止突起26aが横前壁12aに当接する。したがって、トレイ20が振動などで前方にスライドしてしまうことが抑制される。トレイ20を前方に引き出す場合、前方に向けた力をトレイ20に加えることで、係止片26が下方に弾性変形する。これにより、係止突起26aが横前壁12aを前方に乗り越え、トレイ20を引き出すことができる。
 図8に示すように、トレイ底壁27は、前後方向Yおよび左右方向Xに延びる板状である。トレイ底壁27の上方の空間は、余長収納領域20aと、接続部保持領域20bと、に分けられている。接続部保持領域20bには、複数の保持リブ28が配置されている。複数の保持リブ28は、トレイ底壁27から上方に突出するとともに、前後方向Yに並べて配置されている。保持リブ28同士の間に、光ファイバF1、F2の融着接続部が保持される。余長収納領域20aは、トレイ底壁27の上方の空間において、接続部保持領域20bを除く部分である。余長収納領域20aには、トレイ20上における光ファイバF1、F2の余長が収納される。
 本実施形態において、上下方向Zにおけるユニット筐体10の高さ寸法Lz1(図6参照)は128mmに相当する。ユニット筐体10における上壁11と下壁13との間の空間の高さは103.3mmである。この空間に、10個のトレイ20が収納されている。このように多くのトレイ20を収納するため、上下方向Zにおけるトレイ20の厚さLz2(図8参照)は、7.7mm以下とされている。
<パッチパネル3>
 図10、図11に示すように、パッチパネル3は、パッチパネル筐体30と、光ケーブルC2と、融着スリーブ保持部40と、複数のアダプタ50と、長尺カバー60と、複数の小扉70と、を備えている。図11に示すように、パッチパネル3は、光ケーブルC2に含まれる光ファイバF2を分岐させ、光ファイバF3を経由して、光ファイバF4に接続するように構成されている。図11、図12に示すように、パッチパネル筐体30は、底壁31と、内底32と、底側前壁33と、複数の前壁部34と、複数の後壁部35と、を有する。
 図11に示すように、パッチパネル筐体30の内部は、第1収納領域B1、第2収納領域B2、第3収納領域B3、および第4収納領域B4に区画されている。収納領域B1~B4は、左右方向Xに並べて配置されている。第1収納領域B1および第4収納領域B4が左右方向Xにおける外側に位置し、第2収納領域B2および第3収納領域B3が左右方向Xにおける内側に位置している。左右方向Xにおいて、各収納領域B1~B4は、隔壁36によって区画されている。各収納領域B1~B4の前端部には、前壁部34が配置されている。各収納領域B1~B4の後端部には、後壁部35が配置されている。
 収納領域B2、B3の前壁部34は、収納領域B1、B4の前壁部34よりも前方に位置している。言い換えると、左右方向Xにおいて外側に位置する収納領域B1、B4は、内側に位置する収納領域B2,B3に対して、後方にオフセットされている。
 図11に示すように、光ケーブルC2は、第1収納領域B1の後壁部35に設けられた開口を通じて、第1収納領域B1内に導入される。光ケーブルC2に含まれる複数の光ファイバF2は、融着スリーブ保持部40において、複数の光ファイバF3に接続される。融着スリーブ保持部40は、光ファイバF2、F3の融着接続部を保持する。融着スリーブ保持部40は、第1収納領域B1内に配置されている。つまり、第1収納領域B1は、光ケーブルC2を分岐させる、いわゆるブレークアウトキットとしての役割を有する。
 複数の光ファイバF3は、第1収納領域B1の後壁部35から後方に延出し、収納領域B2~B4に向かう。また、複数の光ファイバF3は、収納領域B2~B4の各後壁部35に設けられた開口を通じて、収納領域B2~B4内に導入される。ここで、収納領域B2~B4内に導入される複数の光ファイバF3は、テープ心線Tを構成している。一例として、テープ心線Tには4本の光ファイバF3が含まれており、収納領域B2~B4には、それぞれ2本のテープ心線Tが導入される。この場合、収納領域B2~B4に導入される光ファイバF3の数はそれぞれ8本であり、光ケーブルC2に含まれる光ファイバF2の数は合計で24本である。
 各収納領域B2~B4内には、分岐部Sが配置されている。各収納領域B2~B4の前壁部34にはそれぞれ、複数のアダプタ50が取り付けられている。分岐部Sにおいて、テープ心線Tに含まれている複数の光ファイバF3が分岐され、個別にアダプタ50に接続される。このように、収納領域B2~B4内には、テープ心線Tを分岐させる、いわゆるファンアウト構造が設けられている。各アダプタ50には、前方から、光ファイバF4が接続される。このように、パッチパネル3は、光ケーブルC2の光ファイバF2(第1の光ファイバ)を、光ファイバF3(中継ファイバ)を経由させて、光ファイバF4(第2の光ファイバ)に接続する。
 図10に示すように、4つの小扉70は、左右方向Xにおいて4つの収納領域B1~B4(図11参照)にそれぞれ対応する位置に配置されている。収納領域B1、B4が後方にオフセットしているため、収納領域B1、B4に対応する小扉70も、後方にオフセットされている。また、長尺カバー60は、4つの小扉70よりも前方に位置し、左右方向Xにおいてこれらの小扉70に跨るように配置されている。長尺カバー60は、小扉70よりも前方の空間に配索された光ファイバF4を保護する役割を有する。長尺カバー60は、複数のヒンジ61によって回転可能に支持されている。また、小扉70は、複数のヒンジ72によって回転可能に支持されている。小扉70には、摘み部71が設けられている。
 パッチパネル3を操作する際、まず、使用者は長尺カバー60を開く。次いで、作業の対象となる収納領域B2~B4に対応する小扉70を開く。そして、光ファイバF4の先端に取り付けられたコネクタを、アダプタ50に挿入したり、アダプタ50から引き抜いたりすることで、光ファイバF4の接続先を切り替える。
 図12は、図10のXII-XII断面矢視図である。図12は第3収納領域B3に対応する断面図である。ただし、他の収納領域B1、B2、B4においても、底壁31、内底32、および底側前壁33等については、同様の構造を有する。収納領域B1~B4は、二重底構造に構成されている。より具体的には、パッチパネル筐体30の底壁31の上方に、内底32が設けられている。収納領域B1~B4の底部は、内底32によって区画されている。底側前壁33は、上下方向Zにおいて、底壁31と内底32との間に位置している。前壁部34は、内底32の前端部から、上方に延びている。
 このような二重底構造を採用することで、前壁部34の前方に、光ファイバF4が下方に湾曲するための空間が確保される。これにより、図11に示すように、各収納領域B2~B4の前方において、光ファイバF4を左右方向Xに湾曲させたときに、光ファイバF4の曲げ半径を大きく取ることができる。したがって、光ファイバF4に局所的な曲げ応力が発生するのを抑制しつつ、収納領域B2~B4に接続された光ファイバF同士が混線することも回避することができる。
 以上説明したように、本実施形態のパッチパネル3は、パッチパネル筐体30と、パッチパネル筐体30に導入された光ケーブルC2と、光ケーブルC2に含まれる複数の第1光ファイバF2と、複数の第2光ファイバF3と、の融着接続部を保持する融着スリーブ保持部40と、複数の第2ファイバに接続された複数のアダプタ50と、を備え、パッチパネル筐体30は、左右方向Xにおいて、第1収納領域B1、第2収納領域B2,第3収納領域B3、および第4収納領域B4に区画され、第1収納領域B1に融着スリーブ保持部40が配置され、第2収納領域B2、第3収納領域B3、および第4収納領域B4がそれぞれ有する前壁部34に、複数のアダプタ50が取り付けられている。この構成により、光ケーブルC2に含まれる光ファイバF2を、第1収納領域B1において光ファイバF3に接続し、その光ファイバF3を分岐させて、収納領域B2~B4に分配することができる。これにより、例えばブレークアウトキットをパッチパネル3とは別に設ける場合と比較して、構成を簡素にすることができる。
 また、光ケーブルC2には24本の第1光ファイバF2が含まれ、第2収納領域、第3収納領域、および第4収納領域にはそれぞれ、8本の第2光ファイバF3が導入されていてもよい。
 また、複数の第2光ファイバF3は、複数の4心のテープ心線Tを構成し、第2収納領域B2、第3収納領域B3、および第4収納領域B4にはそれぞれ、2本のテープ心線Tが導入され、第2収納領域B2、第3収納領域B3、および第4収納領域B4の内側で、テープ心線Tは分岐されて、アダプタ50にそれぞれ接続されていてもよい。
 なお、本発明の技術的範囲は前記実施形態に限定されず、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲において種々の変更を加えることが可能である。
 例えば、前記実施形態のパッチパネル3では、第1収納領域B1がいわゆるブレークアウトキットとして用いられている。しかしながら、第1収納領域B1も、第2収納領域B2等と同様に、光ファイバF3と光ファイバF4との接続を行う領域として用いられてもよい。
 また、トレイ20の形状を変更してもよい。例えば図13に示すように、トレイ20が、複数の蓋部81、82、84を有してもよい。蓋部81は、ヒンジ81a周りに回動可能であり、係止部81bを有している。蓋部81の係止部81bは、トレイ20の本体部に設けられた本体側係止部81cに係止され、蓋部81の浮き上がりを防止する。このとき、蓋部81は接続部保持領域20bを上方から覆い、接続部保持領域20bを保護することができる。
 同様に、蓋部82、84は、ヒンジ82a、84a周りに回動可能であり、係止部82b、84bを有している。係止部82b、84bは、トレイ20の本体部に設けられた本体側係止部82c、84cに係止され、蓋部82、84の浮き上がりを防止する。このとき、蓋部82、84は余長収納領域20aの一部を上方から覆い、余長収納領域20aから光ファイバが浮き上がること等を防止できる。
 その他、本発明の趣旨を逸脱しない範囲で、上記した実施形態における構成要素を周知の構成要素に置き換えることは適宜可能であり、また、上記した実施形態や変形例を適宜組み合わせてもよい。
 本発明の上記態様によれば、光ケーブルに含まれる光ファイバを分岐させるための構成を簡素化することが可能なパッチパネルを提供できる。

  1.  パッチパネル筐体と、
     前記パッチパネル筐体に導入された光ケーブルと、
     前記光ケーブルに含まれる複数の第1光ファイバと、複数の第2光ファイバと、の融着接続部を保持する融着スリーブ保持部と、
     前記複数の第2光ファイバに接続された複数のアダプタと、を備え、
     前記パッチパネル筐体は、左右方向において、第1収納領域、第2収納領域,第3収納領域、および第4収納領域に区画され、
     前記第1収納領域に前記融着スリーブ保持部が配置され、

     前記第2収納領域、前記第3収納領域、および前記第4収納領域にはそれぞれ、2本の前記テープ心線が導入され、
     前記第2収納領域、前記第3収納領域、および前記第4収納領域の内側で、前記テープ心線は分岐されて、前記アダプタにそれぞれ接続されている、請求項1または請求項2に記載のパッチパネル。
