Abstract

Description

燃料電池システム
 この明細書に開示される技術は、電気自動車等の電源として使用され、負荷装置に接続される燃料電池と、燃料電池から負荷装置に至る放電経路に設けられ、燃料電池と並列に接続されるバッテリとを備えた燃料電池システムに関する。
 従来、この種の技術として、例えば、下記の特許文献1に記載される「燃料電池システム」が知られている。このシステムは、燃料電池と、負荷装置と、燃料電池と負荷装置を接続する第1配線と、バッテリと、バッテリから第1配線に接続される第2配線とを備える。第1配線には、燃料電池の端子間電圧と負荷装置側の電圧との間で電圧変換を行う電圧変換器が設けられる。

 ところが、特許文献1に記載の燃料電池システムでは、電圧変換器は、燃料電池の上限電力を超えないように負荷装置への供給電力を制御できるものの、それ自体がシステムのコストアップ及び大型化につながる懸念があった。近年では、電気自動車等に搭載される燃料電池システムとして、簡易で安価なシステムが要望されている。
 この開示技術は、上記事情に鑑みてなされたものであって、その目的は、電圧変換器を使用することなく燃料電池とバッテリの上限電力を超えないように負荷装置へ供給される電力の制御を可能とし、簡易でより安価な燃料電池システムを提供することにある。
 (1)上記目的を達成するために、本願開示技術の一態様は、燃料電池と、負荷装置と、燃料電池と負荷装置を接続する第1電力線と、バッテリと、バッテリと第1電力線を接続する第2電力線とを備えた燃料電池システムにおいて、第1電力線に設けられ、第1電力線を開閉するための第1リレーと、第2電力線に設けられ、第2電力線を開閉するための第2リレーとを備えたことを趣旨とする。
 上記(1)の構成によれば、第1リレーを開閉することにより燃料電池から負荷装置への電力の供給が入り切りされ、第2リレーを開閉することによりバッテリから負荷装置への電力の供給が入り切りされる。従って、第1リレー及び第2リレーの開閉を適宜制御することにより、燃料電池及びバッテリの出力状況に合わせて負荷装置への電力供給が可能となる。
 (2)上記目的を達成するために、上記(1)の構成において、燃料電池の出力及びバッテリの出力の上限を制限するために、第1リレーと第2リレーの開閉を制御するリレー制御手段と、バッテリの充電率を監視するための充電率監視手段とを備え、リレー制御手段は、充電率監視手段により監視されるバッテリの充電率が第3所定値より小さい場合に、第1リレー及び第2リレーを閉制御することが好ましい。
 上記(2)の構成によれば、上記(1)の構成の作用に加え、監視されるバッテリの充電率が第3所定値より小さい場合に、リレー制御手段が、第1リレー及び第2リレーを閉制御することにより、燃料電池及びバッテリの出力がそれぞれ成り行きとなる。従って、燃料電池の出力及びバッテリの出力が許容される使用領域に近付けられる。
 (3)上記目的を達成するために、上記(2)の構成において、リレー制御手段は、(i)監視される充電率が第1所定値以上となる場合に、第1リレー及び第2リレーを開制御し、(ii)監視される充電率が第2所定値以上かつ第1所定値未満となる場合に、第1リレーを開制御すると共に第2リレーを閉制御し、(iii)監視される充電率が第3所定値以上かつ第2所定値未満となり、負荷装置が制動中となる場合に、第1リレー及び第2リレーを閉制御し、(iv)監視される充電率が第3所定値以上かつ第2所定値未満となり、負荷装置が回生中となる場合に、第1リレーを開制御すると共第2リレーを閉制御し、第1所定値>第2所定値>第3所定値の関係を有することが好ましい。
 上記(3)の構成によれば、上記(2)の構成の作用に加え、(i)監視される充電率が第1所定値以上となる場合に、リレー制御手段が、第1リレー及び第2リレーを開制御することにより、燃料電池の出力及びバッテリの出力がそれぞれゼロとなる。(ii)監視される充電率が第2所定値以上かつ第1所定値未満となる場合に、リレー制御手段が、第1リレーを開制御すると共に第2リレーを閉制御することにより、燃料電池の出力がゼロとなり、バッテリの出力が成り行きとなる。(iii)監視される充電率が第3所定値以上かつ第2所定値未満となり、負荷装置が制動中となる場合に、リレー制御手段が、第1リレー及び第2リレーを閉制御することにより、燃料電池の出力及びバッテリの出力がそれぞれ成り行きとなる。(iv)監視される充電率が第3所定値以上かつ第2所定値未満となり、負荷装置が回生中となる場合に、リレー制御手段が、第1リレーを開制御すると共に第2リレーを閉制御することにより、燃料電池の出力がゼロとなり、バッテリの出力が成り行きとなる。従って、上記(i)~(iv)の制御により、燃料電池の出力及びバッテリの出力が許容される使用領域に近付けられる。
 (4)上記目的を達成するために、上記(2)又は(3)の構成において、リレー制御手段は、監視される充電率が第3所定値より小さい場合は、負荷装置の指示出力値を抑制するために充電率に応じて指示出力値を補正することが好ましい。
 上記(4)の構成によれば、上記(2)又は(3)の構成の作用に加え、監視される充電率が第3所定値より小さい場合に、リレー制御手段が、負荷装置の指示出力値を抑制するために充電率に応じて指示出力値を補正する。従って、充電率が第3所定値より小さい場合は、燃料電池及びバッテリから負荷装置への電力の供給が充電率に応じて精密に抑制される。
 (5)上記目的を達成するために、上記(1)の構成において、負荷装置の指示出力値を決定するための負荷出力決定手段を備え、負荷出力決定手段は、負荷装置の要求出力値から燃料電池の減量出力値とバッテリの減量出力値を減算することにより指示出力値を決定することが好ましい。
 上記(5)の構成によれば、上記(1)の構成の作用に加え、そのときどきの燃料電池の出力能力の状況とバッテリの出力能力の状況に見合った負荷装置の指示出力値が決定される。
 上記(1)の構成によれば、電圧変換器を使用することなく燃料電池とバッテリの上限電力を超えないように負荷装置へ供給される電力を制御することができ、簡易でより安価な燃料電池システムを提供することができる。
 上記(2)の構成によれば、上記(1)の構成の効果に加え、バッテリの充電率が低下した場合に、燃料電池の出力及びバッテリの出力の上限を制限することができる。
 上記(3)の構成によれば、上記(2)の構成の効果に加え、バッテリの充電率の変化に応じて、燃料電池の出力及びバッテリの出力の上限をより精巧に制限することができる。
 上記(4)の構成によれば、上記(2)又は(3)の構成の効果に加え、バッテリの充電率がより低下した場合に、燃料電池の出力及びバッテリの出力の上限をより精密に制限することができる。
 上記(5)の構成によれば、上記(14)の構成の効果に加え、燃料電池とバッテリに過剰な出力負荷がかかることを防止することができる。
一実施形態に係り、電動カートに搭載された燃料電池システムを示すブロック図。 一実施形態に係り、「電力供給制御」の内容の一例を示すフローチャート。 一実施形態に係り、バッテリの充電率に応じた出力補正値を求めるために参照される出力補正値マップ。
 以下、燃料電池システムを小型電気自動車(電動カート)に具体化した一実施形態につき図面を参照して詳細に説明する。
[燃料電池システムの概要]
 図1に、この実施形態の電動カートに搭載された燃料電池システムをブロック図により示す。この燃料電池システムは、燃料電池(FC)1と、電動式のモータ2と、FC1とモータ2を接続する第1電力線3と、バッテリ4と、バッテリ4と第1電力線3を接続する第2電力線5とを備える。
 FC1は、燃料と酸化剤の化学エネルギーを、酸化還元反応により電気に変換する電気化学電池であり、周知の構成を備える。モータ2は、周知の構成を備え、この開示技術の「負荷装置」の一例に相当する。バッテリ4は、この実施形態では、充放電可能な二次電池により構成される。
 この実施形態において、第1電力線3には、整流用のダイオード6と、第1電力線3を開閉するためのFCリレー7が直列に設けられる。FCリレー7は、この開示技術の「第1リレー」に相当する。第2電力線5は、ダイオード6とモータ2との間の第1電力線3に接続される。第2電力線5には、第2電力線5を開閉するためのバッテリリレー8が設けられる。バッテリリレー8は、この開示技術の「第2リレー」に相当する。FCリレー7及びバッテリリレー8は、それぞれ電気的に動作させることで開閉可能な周知の構成を有する。燃料電池システムは、各リレー7,8の開閉を制御するための電子制御装置(ECU)10を更に備える。ECU10は、演算処理を行う中央処理装置(CPU)、メモリ及び入出力ポート等を含む周知の構成を備える。ECU10は、この開示技術の「リレー制御手段」の一例に相当する。
 この実施形態において、モータ2は、電動カートの駆動輪11に駆動連結される。ECU10にはアクセルセンサ12が接続される。アクセルセンサ12は、電動カートのユーザが操作するペダル13の操作角度をアクセル開度として検出し、その検出信号をECU10へ出力するようになっている。
 ECU10はバッテリ4に対し電気的に接続され、バッテリ4の充電率SOCを監視するようになっている。ECU10は、この開示技術の「充電率監視手段」の一例にも相当する。また、ECU10はFC1及びバッテリ4に対し電気的に接続され、FC1の電流及び電圧とバッテリ4の電流及び電圧を測定するようになっている。ECU10は、「電流電圧測定手段」の一例にも相当する。
 また、ECU10は、負荷装置であるモータ2の指示出力値(モータ指示出力値)を決定するようになっており、この開示技術の「負荷出力決定手段」の一例に相当する。
 ここで、FC1の出力とバッテリ4の出力の上限をそれぞれ制限するために、モータ2の出力制限を行う必要がある。そこで、この実施形態で、ECU10は、電動カートの運転時に、次のような「電力供給制御」を実行するようになっている。
[電力供給制御について]
 図2に、ECU10のメモリに格納されたこの実施形態の「電力供給制御」の内容の一例をフローチャートにより示す。
 処理がこのルーチンへ移行すると、ステップ100で、ECU10は、測定しているFC1の電流値(FC電流値)FCCV及び電圧値(FC電圧値)FCVV、バッテリ4の電流値(バッテリ電流値)BTCV及び電圧値(バッテリ電圧値)BTVVをそれぞれ取り込む。
 次に、ステップ110で、ECU10は、FC1のリアル出力値(FCリアル出力値)FCROと、バッテリ4のリアル出力値(バッテリリアル出力値)BTROをそれぞれ算出する。ここで、ECU10は、測定されるFC電流値FCCV及びFC電圧値FCVVからFCリアル出力値FCROを求めることができる。また、ECU10は、測定されるバッテリ電流値BTCCV及びバッテリ電圧値BTVVからバッテリリアル出力値BTFCROを求めることができる。
 次に、ステップ120で、ECU10は、FCリアル出力値FCROからFC1の上限出力値(FC上限出力値)FCUOを減算した結果であって、「0」以上の値をFC1の減量出力値(FC減量出力値)FCDOと設定する。FC上限出力値FCUOは、予め求められた設定値である。
 次に、ステップ130で、ECU10は、バッテリリアル出力値BTROからバッテリ4の上限出力値(バッテリ上限出力値)BTUOを減算した結果であって、「0」以上の値をバッテリ4の減量出力値(バッテリ減量出力値)BTDOと設定する。バッテリ上限出力値BTUOは、予め求められた設定値である。
 次に、ステップ140で、ECU10は、モータ2の指示出力値(モータ指示出力値)MTCOに対し、モータ2の要求出力値(モータ要求出力値)MTROからFC減量出力値FCDOとバッテリ減量出力値BTDOを減算した結果により上限制限をかける。すなわち、バッテリ出力とFC出力からモータ出力の制限をかける。
 次に、ステップ150では、ECU10は、バッテリ4の充電率SOCを取り込む。
 次に、ステップ160では、ECU10は、充電率SOCが「80%」以上か否かを判断する。「80%」は、この開示技術の「第1所定値」の一例に相当する。ECU10は、この判断結果が肯定の場合は処理をステップ170へ移行し、この判断結果が否定の場合はステップ190へ移行する。
 ステップ170では、ECU10は、FCリレー7とバッテリリレー8を開制御する。
 次に、ステップ180では、ECU10は、モータ指示出力値MTCOによりモータ2を制御し、その後の処理を一旦終了する。
 一方、ステップ160から移行してステップ190では、ECU10は、充電率SOCが「70%」以上かつ「80%」未満か否かを判断する。「70%」は、この開示技術の「第2所定値」の一例に相当する。ECU10は、この判断結果が肯定の場合は処理をステップ200へ移行し、この判断結果が否定の場合はステップ210へ移行する。
 ステップ200では、ECU10は、FCリレー7を開制御し、バッテリリレー8を閉制御した後、処理をステップ180へ移行する。
 一方、ステップ210では、ECU10は、充電率SOCが「30%」以上かつ「70%」未満か否かを判断する。「30%」は、この開示技術の「第3所定値」(第1所定値>第2所定値>第3所定値)の一例に相当する。ECU10は、この判断結果が肯定の場合は処理をステップ220へ移行し、この判断結果が否定の場合はステップ240へ移行する。
 ステップ220では、ECU10は、モータ2の制動中は、FCリレー7とバッテリリレー8を閉制御する。
 次に、ステップ230では、ECU10は、モータ2の回生中は、FCリレー7を開制御し、バッテリリレー8を閉制御した後、処理をステップ180へ移行する。
 一方、ステップ240では、ECU10は、充電率SOCが「30%」未満か否かを判断する。ECU10は、この判断結果が肯定の場合は処理をステップ250へ移行し、この判断結果が否定の場合は処理をステップ180へ移行する。
 ステップ250では、ECU10は、FCリレー7とバッテリリレー8を閉制御する。
 次に、ステップ260では、ECU10は、充電率SOCに応じた出力補正値KOを算出する。ECU10は、例えば、図3に示すような出力補正値マップを参照することにより、充電率SOCに応じた出力補正値KOを求めることができる。
 次に、ステップ270では、ECU10は、モータ要求出力値MTROをモータ指示出力値MTCOとして設定し、又は、モータ指示出力値MTCOに出力補正値KOを乗算した結果をモータ指示出力値MTCOとして設定し、処理をステップ180へ移行する。
 上記の電力供給制御によれば、ECU10は、FC1の出力及びバッテリ4の出力の上限を制限するために、監視されるバッテリ4の充電率SOCが「30%」(第3所定値)より小さい場合は、FCリレー7及びバッテリリレー8を閉制御するようになっている。
 また、上記の電力供給制御によれば、ECU10は、(i)監視される充電率SOCが「80%」(第1所定値)以上となる場合は、FCリレー7及びバッテリリレー8を開制御し、(ii)監視される充電率SOCが「70%」(第2所定値)以上かつ「80%」未満となる場合は、FCリレー7を開制御し、バッテリリレー8を閉制御し、(iii)監視される充電率SOCが「30%」以上かつ「70%」未満となり、モータ2が制動中となる場合は、FCリレー7及びバッテリリレー8を閉制御し、(iv)監視される充電率SOCが「30%」以上かつ「70%」未満となり、モータ2が回生中となる場合は、FCリレー7を開制御し、バッテリリレー8を閉制御するようになっている。
 更に、上記の電力供給制御によれば、ECU10は、監視される充電率SOCが「30%」より小さい場合は、モータ2のモータ指示出力値MTCOを抑制するために充電率SOCに応じてモータ指示出力値MTCOを補正するようになっている。
 加えて、上記の電力供給制御によれば、ECU10は、モータ要求出力値MTORからFC減量出力値FCDOとバッテリ減量出力値BTDOを減算することによりモータ指示出力値MTCOを決定するようになっている。
[燃料電池システムの作用及び効果について]
 以上説明したこの実施形態の燃料電池システムの構成によれば、FCリレー7を開閉することによりFC1からモータ2への電力の供給が入り切りされ、バッテリリレー8を開閉することによりバッテリ4からモータ2への電力の供給が入り切りされる。従って、FCリレー7及びバッテリリレー8の開閉を適宜制御することにより、FC1及びバッテリ4の出力状況に合わせてモータ2への電力供給が可能となる。このため、電圧変換器を使用することなく、FC1とバッテリ4の上限電力を超えないようにモータ2へ供給される電力を制御することができ、簡易でより安価な燃料電池システムを提供することができる。
 この実施形態の構成によれば、監視されるバッテリ4の充電率SOCが「30%」(第3所定値)より小さい場合に、ECU10がFCリレー7及バッテリリレー8を閉制御することにより、FC1及びバッテリ4の出力がそれぞれ成り行きとなる。従って、FC1の出力及びバッテリ4の出力が許容される使用領域に近付けられる。このため、バッテリ4の充電率SOCが低下した場合に、FC1の出力及びバッテリ4の出力の上限を制限することができる。
 この実施形態の構成によれば、(i)監視される充電率SOCが「80%」(第1所定値)以上となる場合に、ECU10が、FCリレー7及びバッテリリレー8を開制御することにより、FC1の出力及びバッテリ4の出力がそれぞれゼロとなる。(ii)監視される充電率SOCが「70%」(第2所定値)以上かつ「80%」未満となる場合に、ECU10が、FCリレー7を開制御すると共にバッテリリレー8を閉制御することにより、FC1の出力がゼロとなり、バッテリ4の出力が成り行きとなる。(iii)監視される充電率SOCが「30%」(第3所定値)以上かつ「70%」未満となり、モータ2が制動中となる場合に、ECU10が、FCリレー7及びバッテリリレー8を閉制御することにより、FC1の出力及びバッテリ4の出力がそれぞれ成り行きとなる。(iv)監視される充電率SOCが「30%」以上かつ「70%」未満となり、モータ2が回生中となる場合に、ECU10が、FCリレー7を開制御すると共にバッテリリレー8を閉制御することにより、FC1の出力がゼロとなり、バッテリ4の出力が成り行きとなる。従って、FC1の出力及びバッテリ4の出力が許容される使用領域に近付けられる。このため、上記(i)~(iv)の制御により、バッテリ4の充電率SOCの変化に応じて、FC1の出力及びバッテリ4の出力の上限をより精巧に制限することができる。
 この実施形態の構成によれば、監視される充電率SOCが「30%」より小さい場合に、ECU10が、モータ2の電力要求値を抑制するために充電率SOCに応じて電力要求値を補正する。従って、充電率が第3所定値より小さい場合は、燃料電池及びバッテリから負荷装置への電力の供給(モータ指示出力値MTCO)が充電率に応じて精密に抑制される。このため、バッテリ4の充電率SOCがより低下した場合に、FC1の出力及びバッテリ4の出力の上限をより精密に制限することができる。
 この実施形態の構成によれば、ECU10は、モータ要求出力値MTROからFC減量出力値FCDOとバッテリ減量出力値BTDOを減算することによりモータ指示出力値MTCOを決定する。従って、そのときどきのFC1の出力能力の状況とバッテリ4の出力能力の状況に見合ったモータ指示出力値MTCOが決定される。このため、FC1とバッテリ4に過剰な出力負荷がかかることを防止することができる。
 なお、この開示技術は前記実施形態に限定されるものではなく、開示技術の趣旨を逸脱することのない範囲で構成の一部を適宜変更して実施することもできる。
 例えば、前記実施形態では、負荷装置として電動式のモータ2を採用したが、その他の電動機を採用してもよい。
 この開示技術は、電気自動車に搭載される燃料電池システムに利用することができる。

Claims (5)

  1.  燃料電池と、
     負荷装置と、
     前記燃料電池と前記負荷装置を接続する第1電力線と、
     バッテリと、
     前記バッテリと前記第1電力線を接続する第2電力線と
    を備えた燃料電池システムにおいて、
     前記第1電力線に設けられ、前記第1電力線を開閉するための第1リレーと、
     前記第2電力線に設けられ、前記第2電力線を開閉するための第2リレーと
    を備えたことを特徴とする燃料電池システム。
  2.  請求項1に記載の燃料電池システムにおいて、
     前記燃料電池の出力及び前記バッテリの出力の上限を制限するために、前記第1リレーと前記第2リレーの開閉を制御するリレー制御手段と、
     前記バッテリの充電率を監視するための充電率監視手段と
    を備え、
     前記リレー制御手段は、前記充電率監視手段により監視される前記バッテリの充電率が第3所定値より小さい場合に、前記第1リレー及び前記第2リレーを閉制御する
    ことを特徴とする燃料電池システム。
  3.  請求項2に記載の燃料電池システムにおいて、
     前記リレー制御手段は、
     (i)監視される前記充電率が第1所定値以上となる場合に、前記第1リレー及び前記第2リレーを開制御し、
     (ii)監視される前記充電率が第2所定値以上かつ前記第1所定値未満となる場合に、前記第1リレーを開制御すると共に前記第2リレーを閉制御し、
     (iii)監視される前記充電率が第3所定値以上かつ前記第2所定値未満となり、前記負荷装置が制動中となる場合に、前記第1リレー及び前記第2リレーを閉制御し、
     (iv)監視される前記充電率が第3所定値以上かつ前記第2所定値未満となり、前記負荷装置が回生中となる場合に、前記第1リレーを開制御すると共に前記第2リレーを閉制御し、
     前記第1所定値>前記第2所定値>前記第3所定値の関係を有する
    ことを特徴とする燃料電池システム。
  4.  請求項2又は3に記載の燃料電池システムにおいて、
     前記リレー制御手段は、監視される前記充電率が前記第3所定値より小さい場合に、前記負荷装置の指示出力値を抑制するために前記充電率に応じて前記指示出力値を補正することを特徴とする燃料電池システム。
  5.  請求項1に記載の燃料電池システムにおいて、
     前記負荷装置の指示出力値を決定するための負荷出力決定手段を備え、
     前記負荷出力決定手段は、前記負荷装置の要求出力値から前記燃料電池の減量出力値と前記バッテリの減量出力値を減算することにより前記指示出力値を決定する
    ことを特徴とする燃料電池システム。
