Description

防護体制御装置、防護体制御方法、及び非一時的なコンピュータ可読媒体
 本開示は、防護体制御装置、防護体制御方法、及び非一時的なコンピュータ可読媒体に関する。
 車両の事故を防止するシステムが開発されている。特許文献1は、列車の駅のプラットフォームに設置される安全柵を開示する。特許文献2は、道路を走行する車両による事故を防止するための事故防止システムを開示する。この事故防止システムは、車両の運転特性を考慮して、その車両の周囲において事故が発生する確率の空間的な分布を表す事故発生確率マップを生成し、事故の発生確率が高い場所に関する警告を運転者に提示する。

 特許文献1の安全策は、手動で動作させる必要がある。特許文献2は、車両を制御しても他の車両等との衝突を避けられない場合には、事故を防ぐことができない。本開示はこの課題に鑑みてなされたものであり、その目的の一つは、車両による事故を防ぐための新たな技術を提供することである。
 本開示の防護体制御装置は、車両が人に接触するか否かを予測する予測手段と、前記車両の進行を妨げる状態である防護状態と、前記車両の進行を妨げない状態である非防護状態とをとりうる防護体の状態を、前記予測手段による予測の結果に基づいて制御する制御手段と、を有する。
 本開示の防護体制御方法は、コンピュータによって実行される。当該方法は、車両が人に接触するか否かを予測する予測ステップと、前記車両の進行を妨げる状態である防護状態と、前記車両の進行を妨げない状態である非防護状態とをとりうる防護体の状態を、前記予測手段による予測の結果に基づいて制御する制御ステップと、を有する。
 本開示の非一時的なコンピュータ可読媒体は、本開示の防護体制御方法をコンピュータに実行させるプログラムを格納している。
 本開示によれば、車両による事故を防ぐための新たな技術が提供される。

 以下では、本開示の実施形態について、図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。各図面において、同一又は対応する要素には同一の符号が付されており、説明の明確化のため、必要に応じて重複説明は省略される。また、特に説明しない限り、所定値や閾値などといった予め定められている値は、その値を利用する装置からアクセス可能な記憶装置などに予め格納されている。さらに、特に説明しない限り、記憶部は、1つ以上の任意の数の記憶装置によって構成される。
[実施形態1]
<概要>
 図1は、実施形態1の防護体制御装置2000の動作の概要を例示する図である。ここで、図1は、防護体制御装置2000の概要の理解を容易にするための図であり、防護体制御装置2000の動作は、図1に示したものに限定されない。
 防護体制御装置2000は、車両が人に接触することを防ぐために、防護体の状態を制御する。図1において、車両、人、防護体にはそれぞれ、符号20、30、及び40が付されている。
 車両20は、自動車、オートバイ、又は原動機付き自転車などのように、道路を走行する任意の車両である。人30は、歩道を利用している任意の人である。例えば人30は、歩いている人や走っている人である。その他にも例えば、人30は、自転車、三輪車、又は一輪車などに乗っている人である。その他にも例えば、人30は、車いすを利用している人である。なお、人30は、移動していてもよいし、止まっていてもよい。
 防護体40は、車道と歩道の境界部分に設けられている。ここで、防護体40が設けられている、車道と歩道の境界部分は、車道の端であってもよいし、歩道の端であってもよいし、車道と歩道との間の領域(言い換えれば、車道と歩道のどちらにも分類されない領域)であってもよい。
 防護体40は、少なくとも、車両20の進行を妨げる状態である防護状態と、車両20の進行を妨げない状態である非防護状態という2つの状態をとりうる。防護状態にある防護体40は、車両20の進行を妨げることにより、車両20と人30との接触を防ぐことができる。
 図2は、防護体40の防護状態と非防護状態を例示する第1の図である。図2において、防護体40は、昇降が可能な壁を用いて構成される。非防護状態の防護体40は、地面の中に収容されている。一方、防護状態の防護体40は、地面の上に突き出ている。防護体40が非防護状態である場合、防護体40を上昇させることにより、防護体40を防護状態に変更できる。一方、防護体40が防護状態である場合、防護体40を下降させることで、防護体40を非防護状態に変更できる。
 ここで、このように防護体40が昇降可能に構成される場合において、非防護状態の防護体40は、車両20が防護体40の上を通過できる状態であればよく、防護体40の一部が地面の上に出ていてもよい。言い換えれば、非防護状態の防護体40と周囲の地面との間に、多少の段差があってもよい。
 また、昇降が可能な防護体40は、壁以外を用いて構成されてもよい。例えば防護体40は、柵、ポール、又はクッションなどを用いて構成されてもよい。
 図3は、防護体40の防護状態と非防護状態を例示する第2の図である。図3において、防護体40は、開閉可能な壁を用いて構成される。非防護状態の防護体40は開いた状態である。一方、防護状態の防護体40は閉じた状態である。防護体40が非防護状態である場合、防護体40を閉じることにより、防護体40を防護状態に変更できる。一方、防護体40が防護状態である場合、防護体40を開くことにより、防護体40を非防護状態に変更できる。なお、防護体40は壁以外を用いて構成されてもよい。例えば防護体40は、柵、ポール、又はクッションなどを用いて構成されてもよい。
 防護体制御装置2000は、例えば以下のように動作する。防護体制御装置2000は、カメラ10によって生成される撮像画像12を取得する。さらに防護体制御装置2000は、撮像画像12を用いて、車両20が人30に接触するか否かを予測する。防護体制御装置2000は、予測の結果に基づいて、防護体40の状態を制御する。
 ここで、通常時における防護体40は、非防護状態であってもよいし、防護状態であってもよい。通常時において防護体40が非防護状態である場合、防護体制御装置2000は、車両20が人30に接触すると予測した場合、防護体40の状態を防護状態に変更する。防護体40の状態の制御が防護体制御装置2000によって自動で行われるため、防護体40の状態を手動で制御しなければならないケースと比較し、車両20が人30に接触することをより確実に防ぐことができる。
 また、防護体制御装置2000によれば、車両20が人30と接触すると予測される場合に、防護体40を利用して、車両20と人30との接触を防ぐことができる。そのため、車両20に対して警告を行うのみのケースとは異なり、車両20に対して警告を行っても車両20が人30との接触を回避できない場合であっても、防護体40により、車両20と人30との接触を回避することができる。そのため、車両20が人30に接触することをより確実に防ぐことができる。
 通常時において防護体40が防護状態である場合、例えば、車両20が家や店舗の駐車場へ入る際に通過する場所に防護体40が設けられていると、車両20がその駐車場へ入ることができない。
 そこで例えば、防護体制御装置2000は、車両20が防護体40に接触するか否かを予測する。車両20が防護体40に接触すると予測される場合、さらに防護体制御装置2000は、その車両20が人30に接触するか否かを予測する。その車両20が人30に接触しないと予測される場合、防護体制御装置2000は、その防護体40を非防護状態に変更する。こうすることで、車両20と人30との接触が起こらないようにしつつ、必要に応じて、防護体40が設けられている場所を車両20が通過できるようにすることができる。
 以下、本実施形態の防護体制御装置2000について、より詳細に説明する。
<機能構成の例>
 図4は、実施形態1の防護体制御装置2000の機能構成を例示するブロック図である。防護体制御装置2000は、予測部2020及び制御部2040を有する。予測部2020は、撮像画像12を取得し、撮像画像12を用いて、車両20が人30に接触するか否かを判定する。制御部2040は、予測部2020による予測の結果に基づいて、防護体40の状態を制御する。
<ハードウエア構成の例>
 防護体制御装置2000の各機能構成部は、各機能構成部を実現するハードウエア(例:ハードワイヤードされた電子回路など)で実現されてもよいし、ハードウエアとソフトウエアとの組み合わせ(例:電子回路とそれを制御するプログラムの組み合わせなど)で実現されてもよい。以下、防護体制御装置2000の各機能構成部がハードウエアとソフトウエアとの組み合わせで実現される場合について、さらに説明する。
 図5は、防護体制御装置2000を実現するコンピュータ1000のハードウエア構成を例示するブロック図である。コンピュータ1000は、任意のコンピュータである。例えばコンピュータ1000は、PC(Personal Computer)やサーバマシンなどといった、据え置き型のコンピュータである。その他にも例えば、コンピュータ1000は、スマートフォンやタブレット端末などといった可搬型のコンピュータである。コンピュータ1000は、防護体制御装置2000を実現するために設計された専用のコンピュータであってもよいし、汎用のコンピュータであってもよい。
 例えば、コンピュータ1000に対して所定のアプリケーションをインストールすることにより、コンピュータ1000で、防護体制御装置2000の各機能が実現される。上記アプリケーションは、防護体制御装置2000の各機能構成部を実現するためのプログラムで構成される。なお、上記プログラムの取得方法は任意である。例えば、当該プログラムが格納されている記憶媒体(DVD ディスクや USB メモリなど)から、当該プログラムを取得することができる。その他にも例えば、当該プログラムが格納されている記憶装置を管理しているサーバ装置から、当該プログラムをダウンロードすることにより、当該プログラムを取得することができる。
 コンピュータ1000は、バス1020、プロセッサ1040、メモリ1060、ストレージデバイス1080、入出力インタフェース1100、及びネットワークインタフェース1120を有する。バス1020は、プロセッサ1040、メモリ1060、ストレージデバイス1080、入出力インタフェース1100、及びネットワークインタフェース1120が、相互にデータを送受信するためのデータ伝送路である。ただし、プロセッサ1040などを互いに接続する方法は、バス接続に限定されない。
 プロセッサ1040は、CPU(Central Processing Unit)、GPU(Graphics Processing Unit)、又は FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array)などの種々のプロセッサである。メモリ1060は、RAM(Random Access Memory)などを用いて実現される主記憶装置である。ストレージデバイス1080は、ハードディスク、SSD(Solid State Drive)、メモリカード、又は ROM(Read Only Memory)などを用いて実現される補助記憶装置である。
 入出力インタフェース1100は、コンピュータ1000と入出力デバイスとを接続するためのインタフェースである。例えば入出力インタフェース1100には、キーボードなどの入力装置や、ディスプレイ装置などの出力装置が接続される。
 ネットワークインタフェース1120は、コンピュータ1000をネットワークに接続するためのインタフェースである。このネットワークは、LAN(Local Area Network)であってもよいし、WAN(Wide Area Network)であってもよい。
 ストレージデバイス1080は、防護体制御装置2000の各機能構成部を実現するプログラム(前述したアプリケーションを実現するプログラム)を記憶している。プロセッサ1040は、このプログラムをメモリ1060に読み出して実行することで、防護体制御装置2000の各機能構成部を実現する。
 防護体制御装置2000は、1つのコンピュータ1000で実現されてもよいし、複数のコンピュータ1000で実現されてもよい。後者の場合において、各コンピュータ1000の構成は同一である必要はなく、それぞれ異なるものとすることができる。
 例えば防護体制御装置2000は、監視対象の場所の近くに設けられることが好適である。例えば防護体制御装置2000は、道路の脇にある街路灯などに設けられるエッジデバイスによって実現される。その他にも例えば、防護体制御装置2000は、カメラ10に内蔵されてもよい。ただし、防護体制御装置2000は、必ずしも監視対象の場所の近くにある必要はなく、データセンターなどに設けられてもよい。
<防護体40の構成>
 図6は、防護体40の構成を例示するブロック図である。図6において、防護体40はアクチュエータ100と接続されている。アクチュエータ100は、防護体40の状態を物理的に変更させる。例えば防護体40が昇降可能な壁である場合、アクチュエータ100は防護体40の昇降を行う。
 アクチュエータ100は、コンピュータ200に接続されている。コンピュータ200は、例えば、半導体チップなど(例えば、SoC(System on Chip))で実現される。コンピュータ200の構成は、例えば、コンピュータ1000と同様である。
 コンピュータ200は、ネットワークを介して防護体制御装置2000と(コンピュータ1000と)接続されている。コンピュータ200は、防護体制御装置2000から制御情報を受信し、受信した制御情報に従ってアクチュエータ100を制御する。これにより、防護体制御装置2000からの制御情報に従って、防護体40の状態が変更される。
<処理の流れ>
 図7は、実施形態1の防護体制御装置2000によって実行される処理の流れを例示するフローチャートである。防護体制御装置2000は、図7の処理を繰り返し実行することにより、監視対象の場所(カメラ10によって撮像されている場所)における防護体40の制御を行う。予測部2020は撮像画像12を取得する(S102)。予測部2020は、車両20が人30に接触するか否かを予測する(S104)。制御部2040は、予測結果に基づいて、防護体40の状態を制御する(S106)。
<撮像画像12の取得:S102>
 防護体制御装置2000は、撮像画像12を取得する(S102)。ここで、カメラによって生成される撮像画像を取得する方法は様々である。例えばカメラ10は、生成した撮像画像12を防護体制御装置2000へ送信するように構成される。この場合、防護体制御装置2000は、カメラ10によって送信された撮像画像12を受信することで、撮像画像12を取得する。
 その他にも例えば、カメラ10は、生成した撮像画像12を、防護体制御装置2000からアクセス可能な記憶部に格納する。この場合、防護体制御装置2000は、この記憶部にアクセスすることで、撮像画像12を取得する。
 ここで、カメラ10は複数設けられていてもよい。この場合、防護体制御装置2000は、複数のカメラ10それぞれによって生成された撮像画像12を取得する。
<接触の予測:S104>
 予測部2020は、撮像画像12を用いて、車両20が人30と接触するか否かを予測する(S104)。例えば予測部2020は、撮像画像12に対して、車両20を検出する処理、及び人30を検出する処理をそれぞれ実行する。ここで、撮像画像から所定の種類の物体を検出する処理には、既存の種々の処理を利用できる。なお、監視対象の場所にカメラ10が複数設けられている場合、予測部2020は、これら複数のカメラ10それぞれから得られる撮像画像12を用いて、車両20と人30の検出を行う。
 車両20と人30のいずれか一方が撮像画像12から検出されない場合、又は、車両20と人30の双方が撮像画像12から検出されない場合、予測部2020は、車両20が人30に接触しないと予測する。一方、車両20と人30がそれぞれ1つ以上撮像画像12から検出された場合、予測部2020は、車両20と人30の全てのペアそれぞれについて、これまでに取得された撮像画像12の時系列データ(例えば、過去所定時間以内に生成された撮像画像12の時系列データを用いて)、その車両20がその人30に接触するか否かを予測する。
 ここで、時系列の撮像画像を用いて、撮像されている2つの物体が接触するか否かを予測する方法は様々である。例えば予測部2020は、撮像画像12の時系列データを解析することにより、各車両20と各人30について、位置、速さ、加速度、及び移動方向を特定する。予測部2020は、位置、速さ、加速度、及び移動方向に基づいて、各車両20と各人30の位置の変化を予測する。そして、予測部2020は、車両20と人30の全てのペアそれぞれについて、その車両20の予測位置とその人30の予測位置との間の距離が十分に小さくなる(例えば、所定の閾値以下となる)か否かを判定する。
 車両20の予測位置と人30の予測位置との間の距離が十分に小さくなる場合、予測部2020は、その車両20とその人30とが接触すると予測する。一方、車両20の予測位置と人30の予測位置との間の距離が十分に小さくならない(例えば、所定の閾値以下にならない)場合、予測部2020は、その車両20とその人30とが接触しないと予測する。
 なお、予測部2020は、撮像画像12を用いて、信号の点灯状態、車両20のウインカーの点灯状態、又は車両20のブレーキランプの点灯状態などの補助情報を特定し、これらの補助情報を、車両20と人30が接触するか否かの予測に用いてもよい。
<防護体40の制御について>
 以下、通常時の防護体40が非防護状態であるケースと、通常時の防護体40が防護状態であるケースのそれぞれについて、制御部2040による防護体40の制御を例示する。
<<通常時の防護体40が非防護状態であるケース>>
 このケースにおいて、防護体制御装置2000は、車両20が人30に接触すると予測される場合に、その車両20とその人30との接触を防ぐことができる防護体40の状態を、防護状態に変更する。そこで例えば、制御部2040は、複数の防護体40の中から、車両20と人30との接触を防ぐことができる防護体40を、制御対象の防護体40として選択する。そして、制御部2040は、制御対象として選択された防護体40の状態を、防護状態に変更する。具体的には、制御部2040は、制御対象として選択された防護体40に対して、防護体40の状態を防護状態に変更することを指示する制御情報を送信する。ここで、防護体40に対して制御情報を送信することは、例えば、図6で説明したコンピュータ200に対して制御情報を送信することを意味する。
 このように車両20と人30との接触を防ぐことができる防護体40のみを制御対象とする方法によれば、全ての防護体40を制御対象とする場合と比較し、防護体40を防護状態に変更することによる周囲への影響を小さくすることができる。
 なお、各防護体40について、その防護体40の位置や、その防護体40へ制御情報を送信するためのアドレス情報が、防護体制御装置2000によって把握可能であるとする。例えばこれらの情報は、防護体制御装置2000からアクセス可能な記憶部に予め格納されている。
 車両20と人30との接触を防ぐことができる防護体40は、例えば、車両20の位置、人30の位置、及び各防護体40の位置に基づいて特定される。例えば制御部2040は、車両20の位置と人30の位置とを結んだ直線上に存在する防護体40を、制御対象の防護体40として選択する。その他にも例えば、制御部2040は、車両20の位置と人30の位置とを結んだ直線からの距離が所定の閾値以下である防護体40を、制御対象の防護体40として選択する。また、制御部2040は、上述の方法で制御対象として選択された防護体40の周辺に位置する(例えば、隣接する)防護体40を、さらに制御対象として選択してもよい。
 その他にも例えば、防護体制御装置2000が、複数の監視場所それぞれについて、車両20と人30との接触を監視しているとする。この場合、各監視場所に対応づけて、その監視場所において制御対象とする防護体40が、予め定められていてもよい。この場合、制御部2040は、或る監視場所において車両20が人30と接触すると予測されたら、その監視場所に対応する全ての防護体40を防護状態にしてもよい。このように、監視場所に関係する全ての防護体40を制御対象とする方法によれば、制御対象の防護体40を容易に選択できるため、防護体40の状態をより短時間で防護状態に変更することができる。
 ここで、各防護体40について、その防護体40を非防護状態から防護状態に変更するために要する所要時間が予め計測されていてもよい。この場合、制御部2040は、車両20と人30との接触を防ぐことができる防護体40のうち、車両20が人30に接触する前に防護状態に変更できる防護体40のみを、制御対象として選択してもよい。車両20が人30に接触する前に防護体40を防護状態にできるか否かは、防護体40を防護状態に変更するために要する所要時間と、車両20と人30が接触すると予測される時間とに基づいて判定できる。
 また、各防護体40について、その防護体40が故障していないかどうかが、予め把握されていてもよい。この場合、制御部2040は、車両20と人30との接触を防ぐことができる防護体40のうち、故障していない防護体40のみを、制御対象として選択する。
 また、制御部2040は、車両20と人30との接触を防ぐことができる防護体40のうち、防護状態に変更する過程で人30に接触すると予測される防護体40を、制御対象から除外してもよい。例えば、防護体40が昇降可能に構成されている場合において、地面に収容されている防護体40の上に人30がいるとする。この場合、その防護体40を上昇させると、その防護体40が人30に接触してしまう可能性がある。そこで制御部2040は、人30の足下に設けられている防護体40を制御対象から除外する(言い換えれば、制御対象として選択しない)。同様に、防護体40が開閉可能に構成されている場合において、防護体40の動線上に人30がいる場合、人30が防護体40に挟まれてしまう可能性がある。そこで、このような防護体40は、制御対象から除外される。
<<<車両20による接触の回避>>>
 防護体制御装置2000は、車両20が人30に接触すると予測された場合に、車両20に対し、人30との接触を回避するための制御を要求する回避情報を送信してもよい。この場合、例えば車両20は、運転手の操作によらずに自車の走行を制御する(例えば、自動的にブレーキを動作させて車両20を減速させる)機能を有する。また、車両20は、防護体制御装置2000からの回避情報を受信する機能を有する。
 車両20は、防護体制御装置2000から回避情報を受信したことに応じて、自車の走行を制御する処理を行う。例えば車両20は、停止するまで減速したり、人30との接触を避けることができる方向へ進行方向を変更したりする。ここで、人30との接触を避けることができる方向を車両20が把握できるように、回避情報は、人30の位置を示してもよい。なお、車両20の周囲には、車両20が接触すると予測された人30以外の人30も存在しうる。そこで回避情報は、車両20の周囲に位置する各人30の位置を示すことが好適である。
 その他にも例えば、防護体制御装置2000は、車両20が人30に接触すると予測された場合に、車両20の運転手に対して、危険を知らせる警告情報を送信してもよい。この場合、車両20は、防護体制御装置2000からの警告情報を受信する機能、及び、受信した警告情報を運転手へ提示する機能を有する。警告情報を提示する処理は、例えば、警告情報の内容を表す画面を任意のディスプレイ装置に表示させる処理や、警告情報の内容を表す音声をスピーカーに出力させる処理である。なお、警告情報を表示させるディスプレイ装置は、例えば、カーナビゲーションシステムのディスプレイ装置、ヘッドアップディスプレイ、又は運転手の携帯端末のディスプレイ装置などである。
 警告情報の内容は、車両20の運転手に対して危険を知らせることができる任意のものとすることができる。例えば警告情報の内容は、「前方に人がいます」や「ブレーキを踏んで下さい」などといったメッセージである。
 なお、防護体制御装置2000は、車両20に対し、回避情報と警告情報のいずれか一方のみを送信するように構成されてもよいし、回避情報と警告情報の双方を送信するように構成されてもよい。
 防護体制御装置2000から車両20へ回避情報や警告情報を送信する場合、車両20の減速などに伴い、車両20が人30と接触しなくなる可能性がある。そこで予測部2020は、回避情報又は警告情報が車両20へ送信された後に、再度、車両20が人30に接触するか否かを予測してもよい。車両20が人30に接触すると予測された場合、防護体40が防護状態に変更される。一方、車両20が人30に接触しないと予測された場合、防護体40が防護状態に変更されない。
 このことから、車両20が人30に接触すると予測されたとしても、その後、車両20の制御などによって車両20と人30との接触を回避できた場合には、防護体40の状態が変更されない。よって、防護体40の状態が変更される頻度を小さくすることができる。その結果、例えば、防護体40が故障する頻度を小さくすることができる。
 図8は、制御情報や警告情報が利用されるケースにおいて、防護体制御装置2000によって実行される処理の流れを例示するフローチャートである。予測部2020は、撮像画像12を取得する(S202)。予測部2020は、撮像画像12を用いて、車両20が人30に接触するか否かを予測する(S204)。
 車両20が人30に接触しないと予測される場合(S204:NO)、防護体制御装置2000は、図8の処理を終了する。車両20が人30に接触すると予測された場合(S204:YES)、制御部2040は、車両20に対して、警告情報又は回避情報を送信する(S206)。予測部2020は、S204の実行の後に生成された撮像画像12を取得する(S208)。予測部2020は、S208で取得された撮像画像12をさらに用いて、車両20が人30に接触するか否かを予測する(S210)。
 車両20が人30に接触すると予測された場合(S210:YES)、制御部2040は、防護体40の状態を防護状態に変更する(S212)。一方、車両20が人30に接触しないと予測された場合(S210:NO)、防護体制御装置2000は、図8の処理を終了する。
 ここで、防護体制御装置2000から回避情報を受信した車両20は、防護体制御装置2000に対し、車両20の自動制御に関する情報を表す応答情報を送信してもよい。応答情報は、例えば、車両20の予測停止位置や、車両20の制動距離などの情報を含む。予測部2020は、回避情報の送信後に車両20と人30が接触するか否かを予測する際、応答情報に示される予測停止位置や制動距離の情報を用いてもよい。
 例えば車両20の予測停止位置が、車両20の現在位置から見て人30の位置よりも手前であるとする。この場合、予測部2020は、車両20が人30に接触しないと予測する。一方、車両20の予測停止位置が、車両20の現在位置から見て人30の位置よりも手前ではないとする。この場合、予測部2020は、車両20が人30に接触すると予測する。
<<通常時の防護体40が防護状態のケース>>
 このケースにおいて、防護体制御装置2000は、車両20が防護体40に接触すると予測され、なおかつ、車両20が人30に接触しないと予測される場合に、その防護体40を非防護状態に変更する。こうすることで、例えば、通常時には車道と歩道との境界が防護体40によって塞がれているケースにおいて、車両20が歩道を通過して駐車場に入るといったことを可能にする。
 そこでまず、予測部2020は、車両20が防護体40に接触するか否かを予測する。例えば予測部2020は、撮像画像12の時系列データを用いて車両20の位置及び移動方向を特定することで、車両20の移動経路を予測する。そして予測部2020は、車両20の移動経路上に防護体40が存在する場合、車両20が防護体40に接触すると予測する。一方、車両20の移動経路上に防護体40が存在しない場合、予測部2020は、車両20が防護体40に接触しないと予測する。
 車両20が防護体40に接触すると予測された場合、予測部2020は、その防護体40を非防護状態にした場合に(例えば、その防護体40が存在しないと仮定した場合に)、その車両20が人30と接触するか否かを予測する。ここで、車両20と人30が接触するか否かを予測する方法について、前述した通りである。
 車両20が人30と接触すると予測された場合、予測部2020は、防護体40を非防護状態に変更しない。一方、車両20が人30と接触しないと予測された場合、予測部2020は、防護体40を非防護状態に変更する。
 なお、防護体40を非防護状態に変更した後、予測部2020は、その防護体40と接触する車両20が存在しないタイミングで、その防護体40を再度防護状態に変更することが好適である。こうすることで、防護体40が非防護状態になっている時間を、必要最小限の長さにすることができる。
<防護体40の動作テスト>
 防護体制御装置2000は、車両20が人30に接触する蓋然性が低い期間において、防護体40の動作テストを行ってもよい。車両20が人30に接触する蓋然性が低い期間は、例えば、監視対象の場所において交通量(すなわち、道路を走る車両20の数)が少ない時間帯である。監視対象の場所において交通量が少ない時間帯は、例えば、防護体制御装置2000の管理者によって手動で設定される。その他にも例えば、監視対象の場所において交通量が少ない時間帯は、撮像画像12から車両20を検出した結果に基づき、防護体制御装置2000によって特定されてもよい。
 例えば防護体制御装置2000は、現在時刻が、監視対象の場所において交通量が少ない時間帯になった場合に、撮像画像12の時系列データから車両20の検出を行う。撮像画像12から車両20が検出される間、防護体制御装置2000は、防護体40の動作テストを行わない。一方、撮像画像12から車両20が検出されなくなった場合、防護体制御装置2000は、防護体40の動作テストを行う。なお、撮像画像12から車両20が検出されなくなったらすぐに防護体40の動作テストが行われてもよいし、撮像画像12から車両20が検出されない状況がある程度継続した場合に(例えば、所定長以上の時間継続した場合に)防護体40の動作テストが行われてもよい。
 防護体40の動作テストには、種々のテストが含まれうる。例えば防護体制御装置2000は、各防護体40について、防護体40に対して状態変更の制御信号を送信してから、防護体40の状態変更が完了するまでの時間(すなわち、状態変更の所要時間)を計測し、記憶部に格納する。所要時間は、防護状態から非防護状態へ変更するための所要時間と、非防護状態から防護状態へ変更するための所要時間とのそれぞれについて計測される。
 なお、防護体40の状態変更が完了した時点は、撮像画像12を用いて特定されてもよいし、防護体40から防護体制御装置2000へ送信される完了通知を用いて特定されてもよい。完了通知は、防護体40の状態変更が完了したことに応じて、防護体40から防護体制御装置2000へ送信される通知である。
 ここで、防護体40が故障しているために、その防護体40の状態変更ができないことも考えられる。そこで防護体制御装置2000は、防護体40に対して状態変更の制御信号を送信してから所定長の時間以内に、防護体40の状態変更が完了しない場合、その防護体40が故障していると判断する。そして、防護体制御装置2000は、故障している防護体40の識別情報を記憶部に格納する。こうすることで、故障している防護体40を制御部2040による制御の対象から除外したり、修理が必要な防護体40を把握したりすることができる。
 以上、実施の形態を参照して本願発明を説明したが、本願発明は上記実施形態に限定されるものではない。本願発明の構成や詳細には、本願発明のスコープ内で当業者が理解し得る様々な変更をすることができる。

     前記車両の進行を妨げる状態である防護状態と、前記車両の進行を妨げない状態である非防護状態とをとりうる防護体の状態を、前記予測手段による予測の結果に基づいて制御する制御手段と、を有する防護体制御装置。
  2.  前記制御手段は、車両が人に接触すると予測された場合に、前記車両、前記人、又はそれら双方の位置に基づいて、複数の前記防護体の中から、前記車両の進行を妨げることができる前記防護体を特定し、前記特定した防護体の状態を前記防護状態に変更する、請求項1に記載の防護体制御装置。

     前記車両の進行を妨げる状態である防護状態と、前記車両の進行を妨げない状態である非防護状態とをとりうる防護体の状態を、前記予測ステップによる予測の結果に基づいて制御する制御ステップと、をコンピュータに実行させるプログラムが格納されている非一時的なコンピュータ可読媒体。
  14.  前記制御ステップにおいて、車両が人に接触すると予測された場合に、前記車両、前記人、又はそれら双方の位置に基づいて、複数の前記防護体の中から、前記車両の進行を妨げることができる前記防護体を特定し、前記特定した防護体の状態を前記防護状態に変更する、請求項13に記載の可読媒体。
  15.  前記制御ステップにおいて、
      車両が人に接触すると予測された場合に、前記車両に対して、人との接触を回避するための制御を要求する回避情報、危険を知らせる警告情報、又はこれらの双方を送信し、
     前記予測ステップにおいて、前記回避情報又は前記警告情報が送信された後に、前記車両が人に接触するか否かを予測し、
     前記制御ステップにおいて、前記回避情報又は前記警告情報が送信された後に、前記車両が人に接触すると予測された場合、前記防護体の状態を前記防護状態に変更する、請求項13又は14に記載の可読媒体。
  16.  各前記防護体について、前記非防護状態から前記防護状態となるまでに要する所要時間が記憶部に格納されており、
     前記制御ステップにおいて、各前記防護体の前記所要時間に基づいて、複数の前記防護体の中から、人に接触すると予測された車両の進行を妨げることができる前記防護体を特定し、前記特定した防護体の状態を前記防護状態に変更する、請求項13又は14に記載の可読媒体。
  17.  前記予測ステップにおいて、
      車両が前記防護体に接触するか否かを予測し、
      車両が前記防護体に接触すると予測された場合に、前記車両が人に接触するか否かを予測し、
      前記車両が人に接触しないと予測された場合に、前記車両に接触すると予測された前記防護体の状態を、前記非防護状態に変更する、請求項13に記載の可読媒体。
  18.  前記防護体は、道路と歩道との間に設けられている、請求項13、14、又は17に記載の可読媒体。
