  • the elastic means 24 are configured so that the switching of the abutment member 28 corresponds to the switching of the support structure 21, and therefore also to the switching of the pad 16a.
  • the support structure 21 can perform a first movement, with respect to the frame 20 and against the elastic means 24, to move between the first retracted position and the extracted position.

  • the pad device 16 is configured so that the rear wall 26 does not mechanically contact the switch mechanism 29 by means of the first movement, and therefore does not activate the switch mechanism 29 by means of the first movement. Therefore, the support structure 21 is used both for extracting the pad 16 for the application of the label, and for switching the radial position of the abutment member 28. In this way, compactness is improved. Therefore, the pad device 16 allows to provide a more adaptable transfer drum with a simple mechanical configuration.
  • the pad support structure 21 includes a connection element 27, which structurally connects the rear wall 26 and the front wall 25.
  • the elastic means 24 act between the connection element 27 and the frame 20.
  • connection element 27 can comprise one or more rods or one or more bars or one or more beams. Each rod extends radially.
  • having the elastic means 24 acting on the connection element 27 reduces the interference of the movements on the same elastic action.
  • the type of connecting element 27 improves the stability of the first movement and of the second movement.
  • the abutment member 28 and the switch mechanism 29 are radially positioned between the rear wall 26 and the front wall 25.

  • the transfer drum 13 is configured for defining a not operative condition of the second cam surface 31, in which the second cam surface 31 cannot interact with the second cam follower 30, and an operative condition of the second cam surface 31, in which the second cam surface 31 can interact with the second cam follower 30.
  • the second cam surface 31, in Figure 8 adopts the operative condition.
  • the fixed first cam surface 23a is positioned so that, by means of interaction with the first cam follower 22, the pad 16a adopts the extracted position at the application station A, as shown in Figures 7 and 4.

  • the support structure 20 can be switched in the first retracted position before reaching the receiving station R, by means of interaction with the same second cam surface 31, to receive the respective label 3.
  • the second cam surface 31 can alternatively be positioned at a second location, which is downstream of the receiving station R and upstream of the gluing station G, according to the direction of rotation of drum 13.
  • This latter position is in particular useful for managing situations in which there is a gap in the conveyor 6.
  • the corresponding sector 15 of the drum 13, which would have applied the label on the missing container 2 receives the label in the normal way at the receiving station R, so that the label can be discarded in a correct way.
  • the second cam surface 31 is positioned at this alternative second location, another second cam surface 31 would be required, which would be positioned at the above first location, because, if in the following cycle the same sector 15 needs to apply a label, the switching mechanism 29 shall be activated another time before reaching again the receiving station R.
  • the machine 1 can comprise an automatic control system by means of which condition of the second cam surface 31 can be automatically controlled as a function of the speeding speed or as a function of at least one missing container in the conveyor 6.
  • the second cam surface 31 can be set in the operative condition if the feeding speed is zero or is below a threshold. This allows a quicker and better management of situations in which there is a reduced or zero feeding speed, or situations in which there are missing containers.
  • abutment member 28 being movable, thanks to the presence of switch mechanism 19 and in particular thanks to the selectively activatable second cam surface 31, an automatic, simple, cost- effective and easily retrofittable system for avoiding the spread of glue onto pads 16a and 17a is provided.
  • a label transfer drum 13 or a labelling machine 1 which is configured to be less subject to wear and/or to get dirty during different phases of the production, with a simple structural configuration, because pad supporting structure 21 can be used both for moving pad 16a at the application station A and for retracting pad 16a in case of need.
  • the drum 13 can also comprise an actuation device 32 for setting the condition of the second cam surface 31.
  • This actuation device 32 can be electric, electromagnetic, hydraulic, or pneumatic, or can comprise a motor of any nature.

L'invention concerne un dispositif tampon (16 ; 17) d'un tambour de transfert d'étiquette (13) pour une machine d'étiquetage (1), la machine d'étiquetage (1) étant conçue pour étiqueter des récipients (2), le dispositif tampon (16 ; 17) comprenant : un cadre fixe (20) pouvant être fixé au tambour de transfert (13), le tambour de transfert (13) ayant un axe de rotation central (Y) ; une structure de support de tampon (21) montée sur le cadre (20) d'une manière mobile ; un tampon (16a ; 17a) qui est intégré à la structure de support de tampon (21), le tampon (16a ; 17a) étant conçu pour supporter une partie d'extrémité d'étiquette (3a ; 3b), la structure de support (21) étant mobile radialement par rapport au cadre (20) entre une première position rétractée, une seconde position rétractée et une position extraite, le tampon (16a, 17a) étant radialement plus en retrait dans la première position rétractée que dans la position extraite et étant radialement plus en retrait dans la seconde position rétractée que dans la première position rétractée ; un élément de butée (28) qui est mobile radialement par rapport au cadre (20), entre une première position radiale et une seconde position radiale ; et - des moyens élastiques (24) interposés fonctionnellement entre le cadre fixe (20) et la structure de support de tampon (21), pour solliciter la structure de support de tampon (21) contre l'élément de butée (28), de sorte que la première position radiale de l'élément de butée (28) définit la première position rétractée et la seconde position radiale de l'élément de butée (28) définit la seconde position rétractée de la structure de support (21).
