Description

A FRONT AXON WITH A STAGED JOINT STRUCTURE
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an axle shaft cap included in front suspension system of vehicles and a front axon with a staged labyrinth structure so as to correspond to each other between thereof.
Background of the Invention
An axon part bears brake disc, hub, ABS sensor, wishbone, shock absorber and axle shaft. Therefore, it is one of the most important supporting structural parts of the front suspension which is a subsystem of the chassis system in vehicles. An axon part is made of different materials and methods for heavy commercial vehicles and also of different materials and methods for passenger and light commercial vehicles. For example, an axle part is manufactured by means of steel forging method so as to be durable in heavy commercial vehicles, whereas it is obtained by means of iron casting or aluminum casting method in light commercial and passenger vehicle groups. Hub bearing, which allows the wheels to rotate and also bears the tire and rim aseembly, is connected to the axon part. A hub bearing is connected to an axon part preferably by means of four bolts and there is an aperture between the axon part and the axle shaft. The said aperture causes foreign substances enter the hub bearing, the hub seal to be negatively affect and the bearings to break down upon the greases get contaminated, due to the fact that no axle shaft is included in front-wheel vehicles. Therefore, protecting hub bearings against environmental factors that may occur from the outside environment is a problem included in the state of the art. In order to overcome this problem, there is need for a solution which is not affected by the external effects between a hub and an axle shaft entering thereof. The Chinese utility model document no. CN208198007, an application included in the state of the art, discloses a protection structure which prevents invasion of little foreign matters in order to avoid the premature failure of a hub which is located at the end of a vehicle’s drive axle. In the said invention, at least one spiral groove is provided between the hub connection and the drive axle and it is ensured that the foreign matters, which are included in the groove during rotation of the hub, are discharged over the groove upon being moved.
Summary of the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to realize a front axon whereby it is ensured to close the aperture, which is located between an axon and an axle shaft, by means of a staged labyrinth structure thereof.
Another objective of the present invention is to realize a front axon whereby the aperture, which is located between an axle shaft and a hub bearing seal, is removed in order to provide extra protection for the latter.
Detailed Description of the Invention
“A Front Axon with a Staged Joint Structure” realized to fulfil the objectives of the present invention is shown in the figure attached, in which:
Figure 1 is a sectional view of the inventive front axon with a staged joint structure in relation to its assembly with the axon cap in a front suspension system.
The components illustrated in the figure are individually numbered, where the numbers refer to the following: 1. Front axon
2. Body
3. Stage
A: Axle shaft
AB: Axle shaft cap
P: Hub
The inventive front axon (1) for protecting the hub bearing (P), which is included in the front suspension systems of vehicles, from external environment factors comprises at least one body (2) which includes parts such as at least hub (P), the axle shaft (A) and the axle shaft cap (AB) on itself and has an aperture where the axle shaft cap (AB) can fit into; and at least one step (3) which is located on the surface where at least the body (2) contacts the axle shaft cap (AB) and has a staged structure enabling to disconnect the hub (P) bearing from the external environment by closing the aperture between the body (2) and the axle shaft cap (AB).
In the inventive axon protective cap (1), the body (2) bears at least the brake disc, the hub (P), the ABS sensor, the wishbone, the shock absorber and the axle shaft (A). The body (2) comprises at least one hub (P) bearing connected to itself by means of connectors such as bolt. There is a step (3) with a plurality of stages created between the body (2) and the axle shaft cap (AB) reciprocally in order to protect the hub (P) bearing located between the body (2) and the axle shaft cap (AB) against environmental factors that may occur from the outside environment. A labyrinth structure is created between the body (2) and the axle shaft (A) by means of the staged step (3) located between the body (2) and the axle shaft cap (AB). The said labyrinth structure undertakes a protective task for the hub (P) bearing. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the step (3) is located on the surfaces of the axle shaft cap (AB) where it contacts the body (2) reciprocally. Thereby, the grease is prevented from getting contaminated and the bearing from breaking down, by avoiding foreign substances that may reach the hub (P) bearing seal from external environment.
The inventive front axon (1) enable the bearing grease to perform its duty by avoiding foreign substances such as water, mud, dust and sand from reaching the hub (P) bearing, by means of its labyrinth structure created with the staged step (3) that it has on the surface where it combines with the axle shaft (A) included in the front suspension systems of front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive vehicles. Thereby, it is ensured to prevent the hub (P) bearing from breaking down and to provide a safe drive. Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop various embodiments of the inventive “Front Axon with a Staged Joint Structure (1)”; the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims.
