Abstract

In this facial treatment device, a pair of cheek pads are brought into abutment with user's right and left cheeks. An arm part connects between the cheek pads. A biting portion is disposed at an intermediate position of the arm part. The cheek pads have action parts that electrically act on the user's skin. The biting portion is equipped with an attachable/detachable mouthpiece. The biting portion is replaceably equipped with different types of mouthpieces. A controller adjusts the action of the action parts. The controller can be attached to/detached from a body of the facial treatment device. The action parts each have an attachable/detachable pad on the side that comes into contact with the user's skin. The cheek pads are capable of conforming to the shape of the user's cheeks.

Description

Facial massager

The present invention relates to a facial beauty device that acts on the human face.

One cause of facial sagging with age is said to be the weakening of facial muscles. Another cause is the loosening of the fibrous tissue that connects the facial muscles to the bones, known as ligaments or tendon sheaths. There are mainly eight ligaments on each side of the face, more than half of which are located on the cheek and its surrounding areas. When blood flow to the ligaments is poor, the elasticity of the ligaments decreases and they become hard. This weakens the ability to lift the facial muscles, resulting in sagging. To prevent this, it is effective to promote blood circulation by exercising the facial muscles and massaging the ligaments with your fingers.

The following devices are known that focus on facial muscles. First, there is a facial beauty device that uses EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) that is worn on the user's face and provides electrical stimulation to the facial muscles (see Patent Document 1). This device applies a voltage to pads that cover the user's cheeks and the surrounding area.

There is also a facial exercise device that is held in the mouth and efficiently applies stress to the orbicularis oris and other facial muscles, reducing wrinkles such as nasolabial folds (see Patent Document 2). There is also a facial muscle training device that trains facial muscles such as the orbicularis oris (see Patent Document 3).

The inventor recognized the following problems in realizing the technologies of Patent Documents 1 to 3. In the technology of Patent Document 1, pads on which EMS acts are attached to both ends of a headband that curves to cover the user's head, and the headband is worn so that the pads touch the cheek. The cheek where the pads touch is flat and therefore prone to coming off. Tightening the headband too tightly to prevent it from coming off can reduce the comfort of the headband for the user. There is a further need for a facial beauty device in which the action part is less likely to come off without reducing the comfort of the headband for the user.

The techniques in Patent Documents 2 and 3 are effective in training the muscles around the mouth, but may have little effect on the cheeks and the ligaments around the cheeks. Stimulating areas closer to the ligaments is more effective. There is a need for a facial beauty device that is more effective at promoting blood circulation in the ligaments.

The present invention was made in consideration of these problems. Its purpose is to provide a facial beauty device that is highly effective at beautifying the face. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide a facial beauty device that is comfortable to wear.

To solve the above problem, the facial beauty device of the present invention is provided with a pair of cheek rests that are placed on the left and right cheeks of the user, an arm portion that connects each cheek rest, and a jaw portion that is provided in the middle of the arm portions, and the cheek rests have an action portion that electrically acts on the user's skin.

The present invention can achieve the above-mentioned objectives.

The facial beauty device 100 has a cheek rest 2, an arm 4, a jaw part 6, and a controller 8.

The cheek rest 2 is placed against the left and right cheeks of the user. The cheek rest 2 has an action part 22 that acts electrically on the user's skin. The action part 22 has a pad 24 on the side that contacts the user's skin. The action part 22 exerts an electrical effect on the user's skin through the pad 24. Specifically, the action part 22 performs EMS treatment on the skin. Note that the operating principle of EMS treatment is known, so details will be omitted. The cheek rest 2 may be movable up, down, left and right relative to the arm part 4 described below so that the area that is acted on can be changed and adjusted.

The action unit 22 has a secondary battery 28 that supplies electricity, an electrical control unit 30 that controls the electricity, and an electrode 26 that connects to the electrical control unit 30. The secondary battery 28 is charged using a dedicated charger (not shown) that allows non-contact charging. It may also be charged through an external adapter (not shown) from a charging port (not shown) provided anywhere on the facial beauty device 100. The secondary battery 28 can be fully charged within two hours, and is capable of 40 minutes of continuous treatment from a fully charged state. The electrical control unit 30 performs electrical control such as application based on information transmitted wirelessly from the controller 8, which will be described later. The electrical control unit 30 has a communication unit (not shown) that communicates with the controller 8.

The pad 24 is a conductive fabric with silver fibers woven into it. The pad 24 can be washed with water. The pad 24 is durable enough to be washed repeatedly. The pad 24 may be a conductive fabric with other metal fibers woven into it, or a fabric containing a conductive substance such as metal or carbon black. The electrode 26 has a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and is provided on the side that contacts the pad 24. Electricity flows from the electrode 26 to the pad 24, and acts on the user's skin. The action part 22 has a mechanism for attaching and detaching the electrode 26 and the pad 24 with a fastener. A mechanism for attaching and detaching using magnetic force may also be used.

The arm 4 connects the first cheek rest 2a and the second cheek rest 2b. The arm 4 is formed in an arch shape, and the first cheek rest 2a and the second cheek rest 2b are joined to each end of the arm 4. The arm 4 has elasticity, and the joined cheek rest 2 holds the cheek of the user from the outside to fix the position of the cheek rest 2. In other words, the arm 4 is provided so that the linear distance between the first cheek rest 2a and the second cheek rest 2b is slightly narrower than the width of both cheeks of the user. The arm 4 includes a leaf spring as a core. Other elastic materials may be used for the arm 4. The arm 4 may include an elastic synthetic resin material. The length of the arc of the arm 4 is preferably 120 mm to 180 mm. The linear distance from one edge to the other edge of the arm 4 is preferably 40 mm to 70 mm. The numerical ranges described below are also ranges that have been confirmed to be easy to use through experiments.

The gripping portion 6 is provided at the middle position of the arm portion 4. The gripping portion 6 has a mouthpiece 62 and a fitting protrusion 68. The fitting protrusion 68 is joined at the middle position of the arm portion 4, and the mouthpiece 62 fits into the fitting protrusion 68. The mouthpiece 62 is formed to be softer than the fitting protrusion 68. The mouthpiece 62 is attached removably. The mouthpiece 62 can be washed with water.

The mouthpiece 62 has a first mouth groove 64 and a second mouth groove 66. The first mouth groove 64 is provided closer to the arm portion 4 when the mouthpiece is attached, and the second mouth groove 66 is provided farther from the arm portion 4. The first mouth groove 64 and the second mouth groove 66 are recessed at the positions that come into contact with the front teeth so that the mouthpiece can be easily bitten when held in the mouth. The first mouth groove 64 and the second mouth groove 66 may be recessed on the entire outer circumference, or may be formed only at the positions that come into contact with the front teeth. The mouthpiece 62 is available in a variety of types with different external dimensions and shapes, and is also available in a variety of types made of different materials such as EVA, polyolefin, and polyurethane. The user can select a mouthpiece 62 according to the size, shape, and preference of their mouth.

The controller 8 is detachably attached to the arm portion 4. To attach and detach the controller 8 from the arm portion 4, a magnetic attachment mechanism or a fitting attachment mechanism may be provided. The controller 8 has a power button 82 and an operation button 84. The action portion 22 can be started and stopped by pressing the power button 82. The strength of the action of the action portion 22 can be adjusted by pressing the operation button 84. The operation by pressing the button is accepted, and the operation information is transmitted wirelessly to the action portion 22.

The facial beauty device 100 having the above configuration is used as follows.
The user inserts the mouthpiece 62 of the mouthpiece portion 6 into the mouth and bites the first mouthpiece groove 64 or the second mouthpiece groove 66 with the front teeth. For example, the user bites the first mouthpiece groove 64 and bites the mouthpiece portion 6 deeply. If the user has a small mouth or is unfamiliar with use and finds it difficult to bite deeply, the user bites the second mouthpiece groove 66 shallowly. Users can select, install, and replace multiple types of mouthpieces 62 with different external dimensions, materials, hardness, and shapes according to differences in mouth size, preferred bite comfort, and biting strength.

The action of biting the mouthpiece 62 trains the user's orbicularis oris muscle and the muscles around the mouth that are connected to the orbicularis oris muscle, such as the buccinator, zygomaticus major muscle, and zygomaticus minor muscle.

The cheek rest 2 is placed on the left and right cheeks. The position of the cheek rest 2 can be adjusted up, down, left and right. The user removes the controller 8 from the arm 4 and presses the power button 82 to activate the action unit 22. Electricity is applied to the pad 24 and EMS treatment is performed on the skin. The user adjusts the strength of the action with the operation button 84 on the controller 8.

The action of the action part 22 causes a weak electrical current to flow through the user's skin and facial muscles, providing stimulation. Figure 4 is an explanatory diagram showing the locations of the ligaments on the user's face, and the ligament points. There are mainly eight ligaments on one side of the face: ligament L1 at the tear trough, ligament L2 at the superior masseter skin, ligament L3 at the orbicularis oculi muscle, ligament L4 at the zygomatic skin, ligament L5 at the masseter skin, and ligament L6 at the mandibular skin. As a result of the above action, the EMS action reaches ligament L4 at the zygomatic skin, ligament L2 at the superior masseter skin, and ligament L5 at the three masseter skin, promoting blood circulation.

The above configuration provides the following advantages.
The facial beauty device 100 stimulates and trains the facial muscles through the action of EMS. The facial beauty device 100 stimulates and trains the ligaments located on the cheeks and around the cheeks through the action part 22. The action part 22 is close to the ligaments, so the EMS action is effective and blood circulation in and around the ligaments can be promoted.

The user can exercise the facial muscles around the mouth by biting the mouthpiece 62. The action of the action part 22 also promotes blood circulation in the facial muscles around the mouth, providing a synergistic training effect.

The user can easily wear the facial beauty device 100 by biting the biting part 6. The facial beauty device 100 is fixed in place by biting the mouthpiece 62, so it is difficult to come off during use.

The mouthpiece 62 can be washed with water, so the facial beauty device 100 can be used hygienically. The mouthpiece 62 is replaceable, so if multiple people share one facial beauty device 100, it can be used hygienically by using each person's own mouthpiece 62. In addition, the mouthpiece 62 can be replaced with multiple types of mouthpieces with different external dimensions and shapes, so each person can select and use the mouthpiece 62 that suits the dimensions and shape of their face. The larger the mouthpiece 62, the more chewing force is required. For example, if you want to improve your level of training or are accustomed to using it, you should use a larger mouthpiece 62, and if you are not accustomed to using it and want a treatment that is less accustomed to training, you should use a smaller mouthpiece 62. Treatment can be performed according to the needs of each user. The bite load changes if the part that is held in the mouth and placed against the front teeth is set to the first bite groove 64 or the second bite groove 66, and the same effect can be obtained.

The pad 24 can be washed with water, so the facial beauty device 100 can be used hygienically. If multiple people share one facial beauty device 100, each person can use their own personal pad 24 to ensure hygienic use. The pad 24 is made of fabric, so it feels good against the skin.

The average length of the intertragus subnasal arc for young adult women, the length of the arc that passes under the nose between the two ears, is said to be 260mm to 270mm, while that of older adult men is said to be 310mm to 330mm. The length of the arc of the arm part 4 is 120mm to 180mm, allowing the working part 22 to be placed exactly at the position of the cheek. Furthermore, the position of the cheek rest part 2 can be adjusted up, down, left and right. The facial beauty device 100 enhances the effect of the treatment by applying the working part 22 to the ligaments according to the size and shape of each individual's face.

The controller 8 is detachable, making it easy to operate. It can also be easily attached to the main unit after operation, making it less likely that the controller 8 will get lost.

The above describes examples of the underlying technology. The examples are merely illustrative and various modifications are possible, and those skilled in the art will understand that such modifications are also included in the underlying technology.

(Variation 1)
The cheek rest 2 may be formed to fit the shape of the cheek of the user. This modification improves the fit and makes it less likely to come off during use. If the cheek rest 2 is formed so that the pad 24 is appropriately in contact with the ligament, the effect of the action is enhanced.

(Variation 2)
The mouthpiece 62 may be made of low resilience material so that it is easy to bite. In this modification, the mouthpiece 62 is easy to bite at any position, so that the position in the mouth can be easily adjusted.

(Variation 3)
A vibrating mechanism may be provided in the biting portion 6. In this modification, the intensity of the biting motion of the user is increased, which enhances the effect of training the facial muscles.

(Variation 4)
The arm portion 4 of the embodiment may be extendable and retractable. In this modified example, the position of the action portion 22 can be adjusted more easily.

(Variation 5)
A power button 82 and an operation button 84 may be provided anywhere on the facial beauty device 100, such as on the outside of the cheek rest 2 or the outside of the arm 4. A touch sensor may be used so that the action part 22 can be operated simply by touching any part of the facial beauty device 100. In this modification, the weight of the facial beauty device 100 can be reduced, and there is no risk of losing the controller 8.

The present invention can be used in facial beauty devices that act on the human face.
