While the positioning of the bicycle wheel within swinging arm 16 holds the bicycle securely, any movement during transport of the bicycle can cause the bicycle to move upward which can cause the wheel to disengage from rack 10. In rack 200, locking mechanism 202 keeps such upward movement 224 of arm 16 from happening during transport.

Abstract

Porte-vélo comprenant une plaque de montage, un bras oscillant, un premier berceau, un second berceau et un mécanisme de verrouillage sur le bras oscillant. Le bras oscillant est monté de manière pivotante sur la plaque de montage, le premier berceau étant relié à la plaque de montage et le second berceau étant relié à une extrémité du bras oscillant à l'opposé de la plaque de montage. Le mécanisme de verrouillage se trouve sur le bras oscillant et comprend un élément de support de verrou et un actionneur de verrou. L'élément de support de verrou est monté de manière pivotante au niveau d'un premier point de pivot sur un élément d'actionnement de verrou et un second point de pivot au niveau de la plaque de montage. L'élément d'actionnement de verrou est en prise coulissante avec le bras oscillant pour coulisser vers le second berceau ou à l'opposé de celui-ci. L'actionneur de verrou peut venir sélectivement en prise avec le bras oscillant pour permettre sélectivement à l'élément d'actionnement de verrou de coulisser le long du bras oscillant.
