Abstract
The development of science and technology, as well as the reduction of physical movements and the immobility and stillness of the body, have nowadays led to laziness and weakening of the muscles, the most important of which are the back muscles, Consequently, bad and wrong habits to follow such inactivity over time will cause kyphosis (roundback) and deformities in the posture of the body due to an unhealthy lifestyle. The hamstring and gluteal muscles are strong, and performing the Romanian deadlift movement further strengthens them and put sometimes more pressure on the spinal straightening muscles (Erector Spinae (ES) muscle). Due to the feature of the choice of more weight, which has been made possible in this invention in a specialized mode, the user can engage the hamstring, gluteal, and erector spinae (ES) muscles according to his wishes and needs.
Description
This application claims the benefit of priority to an Iran patent application having serial number 140150140003005004 filed on October. 01, 2022, which is incorporated by reference herein in its entirety.
The innovation refers to an advantageous technology in Human needs and sports equipment
In the past and even now, several muscle groups were stressed and strengthened by different sports and exercises and using a series of movements with weights or body weight, which sometimes caused postural abnormalities and led to an unbalanced and unsymmetrical strengthening of body muscles in professional and beginner athletes. We have seen in some cases that the hamstring and gluteal muscles are strong, and performing the Romanian deadlift movement further strengthens them and put sometimes more pressure on the spinal straightening muscles (Erector Spinae (ES) muscle). Due to the feature of the choice of more weight, which has been made possible in this invention in a specialized mode, the user can engage the hamstring, gluteal, and erector spinae (ES) muscles according to his wishes and needs.
Given the advancements of mankind in the last few decades and due to the fact that the development of science and technology, as well as the reduction of physical movements and the immobility and stillness of the body, have nowadays led to laziness and weakening of the muscles, most important of which are the back muscles. Consequently, sticking to bad and wrong habits to follow such an inactivity over time will cause kyphosis (roundback) and deformities in the posture of the body due to an unhealthy lifestyle. Intrinsic back muscles (deep muscles of the back) Intrinsic back are one of the intermediate muscles of the human back. The intermediate layer of the intrinsic muscles includes the Erector Spinae muscles, which are situated in three vertical columns: Iliocostalis muscles in the outer column, Longissimus muscles in the middle column, and Spinalis muscles in the inner column. Longissimus muscles include three groups of longissimus capitis, longissimus cervicis and longissimus thoracis muscles. The fibers of these muscles are basically attached to the posterior surfaces of the transverse processes of the vertebrae and are innervated by the dorsal roots of the spinal nerves.
At first, pipe No. (with a diameter of 80 mm, a thickness of 2 mm, and a length of 2 m) that serves as the device chassis support is welded to the column (with a diameter of 100 mm, a length of 700 mm, and a thickness of 2 mm) at certain angles specified in the map, which is the support of movable mats. Two 16-inch pipes (with a diameter of 100 mm, a length of 700 mm, and a thickness of 2 mm; 30-mm shafts are welded at the two ends of this tube) are welded on the column in a T-shape, which are actually where the movable mattresses 4 and 5 are placed. Movable mattresses are mounted on the 30-mm shaft of the 16-inch pipe with a bearing system, which can be adjusted relative to column 2 with an angle from 15 to 90 degrees. The parts have leg support and the back of the leg is placed on component 13 for control and dominance. Pipe 12 can be moved smoothly up and down inside pipe 11 to adjust the size for different people, which is released and fixed with a spring pin system. All the spring pins of the device can be made available to the user with a bicycle-like braking system to facilitate the length adjustment during performing the motions. Part 10 is a perforated drum system for adjusting the angle of the leg support, which is fixed and released with a spring pin.
It is used to adjust the angle relative to the mattress 4, which is designed to put pressure on the intended muscles and setting the proper position of the foot. The motion can be performed with straight legs or folded legs in different positions by changing the angles of the mats. Or, the pressure can be adjusted for the intended muscles and perform the motion without weights.
The weight system, which is attached and fixed to pipe 3 (with a diameter of 100 mm, a length of 700 mm, and a thickness of 2 mm) with nut and bolt to perform the motion with weights. Some certain parts are embedded for performing motion with weights, in which, the weights are engaged with or released from part 6 using the spring pin and the drum system (with weights, without weights), and the weight system is fixed by pin to the chassis in its highest section (vertical mode) for performing the motion without weight and released with the same pin.
Individual strengthening of the Erector Spinae (ES) muscles group
Spine straightener
Usable by all people
No need for different devices or free weights
Engaging the Hamstrings and Gluteal muscles
The very low weight of the device
Portable and small size
1 Chassis – 2 Mattresses – 3 Weight - 4 Weight bar - 5 Reels - 6 Cable - 7 Shaft - 8 Lever arm - 9 Hinge with gusset (Latch hinge) - 10 Weight Latch - 11 Telescopic pipe
First, the required weight is adjusted according to the user's physical condition and goal. Following settling on the device, depending on his objective of using the device to engage one or a few muscle groups (set accordingly), the user will fix his feet regarding the objective within the footrest part of the device; then, the arm latch is released and the mattress on the arm latch is placed on the two Scapula of the user, and the latch hinge, which is the latch to release the arm of the machine, connects the shafts together. In the beginning, the motion is done from 30 degrees bending of the trunk down to the straightening of the trunk for strengthening the target muscles. Also, if the goal is to engage gluteal muscles and somewhat the hamstrings, we should adjust the mattress and the telescopic pipe according to the user's height and make it wider so that the mattress and legs get straightened.
Gyms, orthopedic and pathology centers, corrective movements, etc.
Claims (3)
- It is a device designed to strengthen the back muscles from the back of the neck (nape) to the back of the knee (Popliteal Fossa). This device consists of the following components:
Chassis, Mattresses, Weight, Weight bar, Reels, Cable, Shaft, Lever arm, Hinge with, gusset (Latch hinge) , Weight Latch, Telescopic pipe - According to Claim 1, The mentioned device is used to strengthen the Erector Spinae (ES) muscle along with the Gluteal and Hamstring muscles. The weakness of these muscles causes abnormalities in the body's natural posture, including the occurrence of kyphosis (roundback) disorder, in which, the forward neck would occur following the kyphosis disorder.
- According to Claim 2, The mentioned device is designed for straightener strengthening of the unharmed spine and rehabilitation, if needed, and also strengthening the Erector Spinae (ES) muscle depending on the user's objective.
