Description

(2) Utility of the Invention: The Application of Polyurea serves for waterproofing, anti-corrosion protection and protection against wear from abrasive products, like paint, but much more resistant.
(3) The application of Polyurethane (both use the same equipment) is used for thermal insulation, waterproofing and for filling areas where contact with air or liquid is not desired, such as inside Bus Chassis, for example.
(4) The inputs used by the device are Polyurethane, formed with the components isocyanate and polyol, and Polyurea, which is a mixture of isocyanate and amine.
(5) There are some variations of these products on the market, with different commercial names, so that the names: component A and component B are normally used for the reactant products in the application.
(6) Técnica Atual: (6) Current Technique:
(7) A Aplicação atualmente, usa a técnica de aplicação a quente, tanto de Poliureia, quanto de Poliuretano, usa uma bomba de produto, um lado para o componente A e componente B. (7) The application currently uses the hot application technique, both for Polyurea and Polyurethane, using a product pump, one side for component A and component B.
(8) After passing through the pump, two heaters (one for each component) with a power of 12,000W or greater are used, followed by a fully heated double hose.
The product cannot be applied at a temperature lower than 60 degrees, and it must be kept warm throughout the process.
(10) After leaving the heated hose, the two components enter the common gun that mixes and sprays.
(11) When the applicator releases the gun trigger, as the product reacts almost instantly, a purge system with compressed air is activated immediately to prevent the product from catalyzing in the spray nozzle and mixing chamber of the gun. . (12) Currently there are cold applications for both Polyurethane and Polyurea, with many types of device, but no device in the current state of the art has cold application with air purging.
(13) With the exception of Spray Polyurethane, in all current cold devices, Isocyanate and Polyol pass at low pressure through a static mixer (an artifact placed inside a tube that causes the products to mix as they pass through it) , and come out in a nozzle that can be injected with compressed air to form a Spray.
(14) The point is that in all these devices the application needs to be uninterrupted, because once the product flow stops, even for a fraction of a second, it dries in the mixing block and the artifact needs to be discarded.
(15) This process makes a more precise application impossible, generates a huge waste of material and a huge cost for the applicator.
(16) For this reason, most applications to date are carried out hot, due to the current lack of air purging in current cold applications, an important deficiency that the new invention resolves.
(17) Diferencial da nova invenção : (17) Differentiator of the new invention:
The new invention consists of a two-stage application gun, a different device from the current gun developed for hot application, using the following changes:
(19) The pressure used in the first stage of the gun is always greater than 3500PSI so that the product can be mixed cold, instead of pressures between 1000 and 2500PSI used hot.
(20) Changes to the gun are necessary so that it can withstand greater working pressure, as cold mixing becomes more difficult due to the greater viscosity of the material and the impossibility of heating the more viscous product to facilitate mixing.
(22) A terceira parte consiste na maior diferença do dispositivo em invenção: (21) Second, as we use higher pressures, it is necessary to use a smaller nozzle at the exit of the first stage of the gun to reduce the flow, because if we use the original holes made for hot application, even if using the smallest one, at these higher pressures it will be impossible to apply. (22) The third part consists of the biggest difference of the device under invention:
(23) After the mixed product exits the high pressure stage, we install a second stage with a second air gun nozzle, similar to the originals of a conventional spray gun.
(24) As the nozzle we placed in the second stage has a sectional area approximately 8 times larger than that used at the first stage outlet, the product is now at low pressure.
(25) The compressed air from the gun makes it possible not only to open a spray fan, but also to control the size of the spray fan, something previously unheard of.
(26) The gun's original air purge system cleans the device, allowing the application to be paused.
The device under invention causes the products to pass at high pressure in the first stage of the gun to allow perfect mixing, but to be sprayed at low pressure with a controlled application.
(28) Como o dispositivo consegue misturar o produto a alta pressão e pulverizar a baixa pressão não necessita de aquecimento, trabalhando a frio.(28) As the device can mix the product at high pressure and spray at low pressure, it does not require heating, working cold.
(29) This process reduces the value of the machine by 1/3, facilitates the application process and allows the entire application to be carried out using only compressed air, without even needing electrical energy on site.
(31) The invented device consists of a gun for applying two reagent components, basically: isocyanate and polyol, or isocyanate and amine, in the chemical synthesis of Polyurethane and Polyurea, respectively, in the chemical and commercial variations available on the market.
Se não existisse a "purga" esses produtos de reação extremamente rápida iriam secar, obstruindo o sistema.(32) The invented device consists of a two-stage gun, using a first stage of high pressure greater than 3500PSI so that products can be mixed cold, with a small diameter nozzle with a ratio of 1/8 (one eighth ) of the application nozzle section diameter, and a second stage with application nozzles and conventional pressure, enabling fan opening and air purging to clean the equipment when application is interrupted. (33) Purge Definition: When applying, the gun is letting in component A and component B, which are mixed and sprayed in real time. The moment you release the gun trigger, compressed air instantly enters, which serves to "purge" any remaining product mixed inside, cleaning this minimal area where the two components are mixed. If the "purge" did not exist, these extremely fast reaction products would dry out, clogging the system.
(34) The possibility of “purging” so that the cold application of polyurea to polyurethane can be interrupted is a distinguishing feature of this invention.
(35) Air curtain: it is the compressed air that comes out of the air hood that is responsible for forming the spray fan, as occurs in all compressed air spray guns, made for painting in general.
(36) The differences in the technique of this invention are the possibility of using an air curtain, associated with the possibility of purging, adjusting the spray range and interrupting the cold application, all essential conditions for excellent application functionality.

This nozzle is screwed onto the other end of Flange #3, and has a hole with an area approximately 8 times larger than the high pressure nozzle that is positioned on the other end of the flange. This increase in area allows the product to come out at low pressure, a necessary requirement for us to be able to regulate the painting range with compressed air. 3 Low pressure nozzle adaptation flange. It is screwed into the gun's mixing chamber, keeping its original high-pressure nozzle, which is pressed between the mixing chamber and the aforementioned flange.

5: Pressure reducing tube.
