Definitions
- the invention relates to a shaft grounding arrangement, comprising a housing which accommodates a shaft, the shaft being assigned a grounding ring which produces an electrically conductive contact between the shaft and the housing.
- Such an arrangement is known, for example, from DE 10 2016 010926 A1 and is used to ground a shaft mounted in a housing.
- the grounding ring creates an electrically conductive connection between the shaft and the housing, so that electromagnetic waves, in particular high-frequency electromagnetic signals, cannot propagate outwards via the shaft beyond the housing.
- electromagnetic signals can adversely affect electronic components of a vehicle or electronic devices carried with the vehicle. Voltage flashover can also cause mechanical damage, particularly to bearings.
- the invention is based on the object of providing a shaft grounding arrangement that is robust and ensures secure electrical contact between the ground ring and shaft.
- the shaft grounding arrangement comprises a housing which accommodates a shaft and a fluid, the shaft being assigned a grounding ring which produces an electrically conductive contact between the shaft and the housing, the grounding ring having a disk-shaped contact body which rests in the shape of a lip on the jacket of the shaft , wherein a first contact surface is formed from the contact body and a second contact surface is formed from the shaft, with at least one of the two contact surfaces being provided with a surface structuring.
- a fluid in the housing next to the shaft which can be, for example, a lubricating oil or a lubricating grease.
- the lubricating oil can contact the shaft and also come into contact with the ground ring.
- the surface structuring introduced into at least one contact surface ensures an electrically conductive contact between the shaft and the grounding ring even if the fluid in the housing gets between the two contact surfaces. This ensures electrically conductive contact between the shaft and the housing even when the grounding ring is exposed to fluid. This makes it possible to arrange the ground ring within a housing.
- the grounding ring is arranged directly in the housing and is not shielded from the fluid via a sealing ring or the like.
- This configuration also makes it conceivable for the shaft to be mounted in the housing via a ball bearing, with the grounding ring being assigned to the ball bearing on the side facing the interior of the housing. Due to this arrangement, the grounding ring conducts electrical currents and electromagnetic currents introduced into the shaft Signals into the housing before they reach the ball bearing. This allows the ball bearings to be protected from the influence of spark erosion caused by voltage flashover and circular currents. This improves smooth running and service life and it is also possible to extend maintenance intervals. Overall, failures of the overall arrangement can be avoided.
- grounding ring of the shaft grounding arrangement according to the invention is arranged directly in the housing exposed to fluid, additional dynamic sealing points that encapsulate the grounding ring in conventional grounding systems can be omitted. This eliminates the need for friction-generating sealing points, which increases the efficiency of the system.
- the shaft grounding arrangement according to the invention is particularly suitable for use in vehicles, especially in electric vehicles.
- the shaft grounding arrangement can be arranged, for example, in the electric motor or gearbox housing.
- the contact body can have a matrix made of nonwoven material.
- the contact body having the matrix made of fleece can be soaked with PTFE and provided with electrically conductive particles.
- Electrically conductive materials are, for example, silver and/or graphite and can be in the form of threads, particles or powder. In principle, highly conductive materials such as copper, nickel, gold or the like are also conceivable.
- the nonwoven material is already electrically conductive, and the conductivity can be improved by adding the additives mentioned. In this configuration, the contact body can be produced easily and cost-effectively and, in addition to low-friction and low-wear sliding properties, also has good electrical conductivity.
- the contact body can be designed as a disk, with recesses running radially inwards being made in the outer circumference. It is also conceivable that the recesses are oriented in the direction of the main direction of rotation.
- the recesses can be designed in the form of slots.
- the surface structuring is introduced into the second contact surface. Accordingly, the surface structuring is incorporated into the shell of the shaft. The advantage here is that the surface structuring is particularly durable and is only subject to minimal wear.
- the surface structuring can be incorporated directly into the shaft.
- a sleeve is pushed onto the shaft, the sleeve being electrically conductive and preferably fastened to the shaft in a press fit.
- the surface structuring can be applied to the outside of the sleeve and the grounding ring is in contact with the sleeve.
- the surface structuring can include grooves which run in the circumferential direction.
- the grooves can extend around the shaft in a ring shape or in a helical shape.
- the surface structuring ensures that the grounding ring always rests on the shaft and thereby creates electrical contact between the shaft and the housing. If fluid, for example a lubricating oil, gets into the area of the contact surfaces, the surface structuring causes the fluid to be transported so that the fluid does not remain between the two contact surfaces and thereby lifts the grounding ring away from the shaft. A pumping effect can therefore be achieved through the surface structuring. Constant transport ensures that the grounding ring is always in contact with the shaft. The advantageous effect also occurs if the surface structuring is also non-directional and has any structure, such as that created by roughening or grinding.
- the surface structuring is introduced into the first contact surface.
- the surface structuring is accordingly introduced into the contact body.
- the surface structuring can include grooves, which in this embodiment are concentric on the shaft assigned Contact surface runs.
- the grooves can be introduced into the first contact surface in the form of concentric rings, sine waves or in the form of a spiral.
- it is advantageous that the surface structuring can be introduced into the contact body particularly easily and cost-effectively. This can be done, for example, directly during the shaping process of the contact body, which is particularly easy if the contact body is made of polymeric material.
- the surface structuring is embossed into the first contact surface.
- the surface structuring can be introduced into the contact surface even after the contact body has been shaped.
- the first contact surface and the second contact surface are provided with a surface structuring. This configuration ensures electrically conductive contact between the shaft and the housing even under adverse circumstances, for example in the case of particularly strong contact with fluid.
- a spring means can be assigned to the contact body, which presses the contact body onto the shaft with elastic preload.
- the spring means ensures permanent contact of the ground ring with the shaft.
- the spring means can be formed by an annular elastomer lip which surrounds the contact body on the outer circumference.
- the elastomer lip can be provided with fluid conveying structures.
- the elastomer lip is provided with a thickening which extends into the spaces in the contact body formed by the recesses. There is a particularly good conveying effect if the elastomer lip is provided with conveying structures in the area of the thickening.
- the surface structuring introduced into the first contact surface and/or second contact surface can form a wave-like course when viewed in section and can be designed, for example, in the form of sine waves, square waves or trapezoidal waves.
- the contact body can have recesses into which the spring means projects.
- the surface structuring is incorporated into the spring means. It is particularly advantageous here that the surface structuring is particularly easy to produce.
- a secure electrical contact between the contact body and the shaft with a long service life is achieved in particular when the height of the surface structuring, i.e. the distance between the high point and the low point, is between 1 pm and 20 pm.
- the depth is particularly preferably between 5 pm and 15 pm.
- the width of a groove-shaped structure of the surface structuring is preferably between 50 pm and 200 pm.
- the width is particularly preferably between 75 pm and 150 pm.
- At least one fluid guide element can be assigned to the grounding ring.
- the fluid guide element is assigned either to the housing or to the shaft.
- the fluid guide element is arranged on the shaft in a rotationally fixed manner.
- the fluid guide element acts as a centrifugal ring, which fluidly limits the amount of fluid that can penetrate between the two contact surfaces.
- a fluid guide element is arranged on both sides of the grounding ring.
- the grounding ring is designed as a cassette ring and has fluid guide elements on both sides, between which a grounding ring is arranged.
- the fluid guide elements are arranged on the shaft in a rotationally fixed manner, while the grounding ring is secured in a rotationally fixed manner on the housing.
- the grounding ring has a support structure which is fastened to the shaft in a rotationally fixed manner and has fluid guiding elements in the form of centrifugal surfaces on both end faces. Between the two fluid-conducting elements, a further support body is arranged, which carries a spring means that attaches the contact body to the inside of a fluid-conducting element on the front side pressed.
- This configuration is suitable for particularly robust applications with a high volume of fluid.

Wellenerdungsanordnung
