[Example 1]
A paper tube with a circumference of 22.3 mm and a length of 20 mm and a paper tube with a circumference of 22.3 mm and a length of 40 mm were prepared, and both were arranged so that their end surfaces were in contact with each other. Chip paper A (basis weight 37 g/m 2 ) having a length of 45 mm and a width of 25 mm was prepared, and the paper tube was wound around it to prepare a test piece (see FIG. 3). At this time, the MD direction of the chip paper was made to be approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction of the test piece.
A 20 mm paper tube of the test piece was inserted into the heating device. The temperature of the heating device was set at 295° C., and the test piece was subjected to a smoking test using a smoking machine. Specifically, using an automatic smoker (LM-1 manufactured by Borgwaldt KC Inc.), the sample was subjected to automatic smoking under the conditions of a smoke volume of 55.0 ml/sec, a smoke duration of 2 seconds/puff, and 9 puffs. At this time, the joint was heated. After smoking, the sample was cooled to room temperature and subjected to a breaking test. An outline of the test is shown in Figure 3. In the figure, P is a plunger, B is a pedestal, and J is a joint. Table 1 shows the load at breakage, etc.
[Comparative example 1]
A test piece was prepared and evaluated in the same manner as in Example 1, except that the direction perpendicular to the MD of chip paper A, that is, the CD direction, was made to be approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction of the test piece.
The average load is the maximum load applied to the sample before it breaks, and the smaller the number, the faster it breaks, and the larger the number, the harder it is to break. Further, the average distance is the average distance that the plunger moves until the sample breaks, and is an index of the tenacity of the sample in that it does not easily break due to bending. Comparing the example and the comparative example, the example shows higher values for both average distance and average load. From this, it is clear that the test pieces of Examples sufficiently exhibit the effect of suppressing fracture and folding.
