Preferably the compositions comprise glycerine and sorbitol for a lubricated mouth feel, but their cumulative levels do not exceed the disclosed upper limit. Phytic acid, also known as myo-inositol hexaphosphate, or inositol hexaphosphoric acid, is a biodegradable chelating agent in liquid form with chelating performance comparable to that of EDTA.

- the polyphosphates desired are those having at least 4 phosphate groups.

- the inorganic polyphosphates may also be of branched form.

Polyphosphates larger than tetrapolyphosphate usually occur as amorphous glassy materials.

- the inorganic polyphosphate or a water-soluble salt thereof is other than a monofluorophosphate or a tripolyphosphate.
- the weight ratio of the organic phosphate to inorganic phosphate is 1 :10 to 1 :0.05, more preferably 1 :7 to 1 :0.1.
- the dentifrice composition of the present invention is prepared by conventional methods of making oral care compositions. Such methods include mixing the ingredients under moderate shear and atmospheric pressure.
- Anti-bacterial agents may also be included such as Triclosan, chlorhexidine, sanguinarine extract, metronidazole. Further examples of anti-bacterial agents are quaternary ammonium compounds such as cetylpyridinium chloride; bis-guanides such as chlorhexidine digluconate, hexetidine, octenidine, alexidine; halogenated bisphenolic compounds such as 2,2' methylenebis-4(4-chloro-6-bromophenol).
- Polymeric compounds which can enhance the delivery of active ingredients such as antibacterial agents can also be included.

Abstract
La présente invention concerne un produit de soin buccal approprié pour maintenir et/ou améliorer la qualité des dents. Un objet de la présente invention est de fournir une composition de dentifrice qui peut durcir, prévenir ou au moins fournir une protection à l'émail contre des lésions provoquées par des caries. Il a été déterminé que le dentifrice selon la présente invention satisfait l'objet. La présente invention concerne une composition de dentifrice qui peut durcir, prévenir ou au moins fournir une protection appréciable à l'émail contre des lésions provoquées par des caries dans un court laps de temps (8) jours d'utilisation en continu. L'invention concerne une composition de dentifrice comprenant : a) de 3 à 50 % en poids d'abrasif ; b) un sel de zinc ; c) de l'argile de silicate en couches 1:1 ; et d) de l'argile de silicate en couches 2:1.
