Definitions
- the invention relates to a door for a road vehicle.
- the road vehicles are in a known manner composed of a cabin intended for the operator, formed of a shell open on both sides and which accommodates the means for controlling the tools arranged at the front or at the rear of the chassis of the vehicle, which may be articulated or not, and comprises at least two axles mounted on wheels (2).
- Road vehicles are often called upon to intervene in areas where circulation is difficult due to the narrowness of the premises or the presence of obstacles or vehicles on the sides.
- the means associated with the door to ensure its opening, respectively its closing comprise, in a known manner, sliding rails at the top and bottom of the opening.
- the document DE 2447698 describes a sliding door for a vehicle which is guided so as to be able to be moved longitudinally according to a guide head which can pivot around a vertical axis on a support arm which is in turn fixed to the body of the vehicle to itself pivot around a vertical axis.
- the door when open can be moved into an intermediate position parallel to its closed position, then in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the tilting of the sliding door into its intermediate parallel position being controlled by a link.
- axles are in fact placed in the same plane as the door, which requires providing a certain cabin height, often high, so that the front wheel of the vehicle is completely clear and does not interfere with the movement of the sliding door. opening and closing, especially when the front axle is turned.
- Document US4932714 which constitutes the closest prior art to the knowledge of the applicant, illustrates a door for a road vehicle, of the type comprising a cabin open on both sides and mounted on a chassis comprising at least two axles on wheels and means for ensuring the opening, respectively the closing, of the door, which is mounted on a frame formed of four uprights matching the contours of the opening of the cabin and secured to said cabin by arms forming a parallelogram.
- the door according to the invention is designed in such a way that it can be moved without sliding rails, leaving the wheels completely free, whether it is open or closed, and without the need to raise the cabin on the chassis.
- the door according to the invention is also associated with a particular cabin profile, which includes interior/exterior fixing grooves.
- the invention is characterized in that the means provided for ensuring the opening, respectively the closing, of the door consist of parallelogram arms, without any sliding rail.
- FIG. 1 is a side view of a road vehicle equipped with a door according to the invention, the door being in the closed position.
- FIG. 1 is a three-quarter view of a door according to the present invention, seen from inside the vehicle cabin.
- FIG. 1 is an exploded view showing the different parts allowing the door according to the invention to be mounted on the cabin.
- FIG. 1 is a partial top view showing the movement of the door to its maximum open position.
- FIG. 1 is a top view showing the positioning of the door in relation to the wheels when opening.
- FIG. 1 is a partial sectional view showing the profile allowing it to cooperate with the end of the door in the closed or open position.
- Figures 1 and 2 show a road vehicle equipped with a door (1) according to the invention, which is in the closed position, that is to say closing the cabin, respectively in the opening position, i.e. say leaving free access to the cabin.
- a tank and suction means are mounted, as well as road maintenance means, which will not be described in detail, to the extent that they do not not part of the invention and are of known type.
- the axle and front wheels (2) of the vehicle are located in the same plane as the door (1).
- the door (1) is intended to be mounted on the right side of the vehicle cabin, relative to the direction of movement of this vehicle.
- the door (1) consists of a window (1') which is mounted by gluing on a first frame (3) which follows the contours of the opening provided on the cabin.
- the first frame (3) has four sides (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d), namely a first front upright (3a) and a second rear upright (3b) in the vertical plane, connected together in the horizontal plane by a first upper side (3c) and a second lower side (3d).
- the sides (3a, 3b), respectively (3c, 3d), are not parallel to each other.
- the first frame (3) is secured to the cabin by three arms (6, 8, 9) which will be described later.
- THE first frame (3) is arranged so as to allow the door (1) to move between a closed position and an open position, the opening being done by initially shifting the cabin door towards the outside then moving it backwards to allow access.
- front and rear of the vehicle we refer to the direction of movement of the vehicle when it is in operation.
- the door (1) is designed to be mounted by gluing a part to this first frame (3) to produce a composite assembly, as seen in the figure. .
- the door (1) is pre-assembled at the factory on the first frame (3) which is designed to fit into a second frame (16) made of an aluminum profile (13).
- the second frame (16) made up of the profile (13) is fixed on the shell (14) of the cabin, a frame (16') identical to the second frame (16) closing said shell (14) on the opposite side to form a closed volume when the vehicle is in action.
- Additional functions can then be attached inside or outside the basic structure thus formed, such as one or more locks, or traffic lights or a roof rack.
- the door (1) is characterized in that it can be moved to clear the opening without the need to provide sliding rails at the top and bottom of the cabin, as is the case with the modalities of known type.
- the door (1) is fixed to the cabin shell by the first frame (3) at three fixing points, one lower (4) and the other upper (5, 5') to be moved outwards when it is open, respectively towards the inside when it is closed, according to a movement carried out by means of the arms (6, 8, 9) by a parallelogram using the principle of the pantograph
- This method allows, if necessary, and subject to compliance with safety conditions, to drive with the door open, for example if frequent stops with descent of the vehicle are necessary.
- the opening of the door itself is carried out by means of a lower bar (6), one of the ends of which is hinged to the aforementioned fixing point (7), at the bottom of the low vertical upright (3d) of the first frame (3), and the opposite end of which is articulated at a fixing point (4) in the rear of the shell fixed to the vertical upright (15) connecting the lower part of the second frame (16) constituted by the profile (13).
- the fixing point (4) is higher than the fixing point (7).
- the bar (6) which connects the points (4, 7) is not rectilinear but has a curved shape, to compensate for the difference in level between the fixing points (4) and (7) when releasing the door, to increase the opening amplitude.
- the bar (6) can be controlled by an electric actuator.
- a parallelogram composed of two arms (8, 9) whose ends are respectively articulated to the upper horizontal upright (3c) of the first frame (3) around the upper fixing points (5, 5') , and at the upper part of the door (1) around axes (11, 11') makes it possible to ensure the movement of the door without using sliding rails, as in known type modalities.
- Figures 5 and 6 show the movement made by the door (1) to clear the opening of the cabin.
- the first arm (8) of the parallelogram which is positioned in front of the second arm (9), is controlled by a gas spring (10).
- the gas spring (10) When the door (1) is in its closed position, the gas spring (10) is folded and maintains the first arm (8), and therefore the second arm (9) associated with it, in the rest position and prevents any accidental opening of the door (1). Conversely, when the door (1) is in its open position, the gas spring (10) is deployed, and holds it in place, preventing any accidental closing.
- the system can also operate without a gas spring.
- the profile (13) is shown in section at the .
- the profile (13) collaborates with the door (1) to perform different functions.
- the profile (13) is made in one piece and has at least four grooves or slides (21, 22, 23, 24) allowing movement, adjustment of the position or the addition and removal of functions at any time. , as well as sealing
- the windshield, door and side window are the windshield, door and side window.
- a first groove (21) makes it possible to connect the profile (13) to the steel elements mounted to reinforce the aluminum profile, and fix the door locking system.
- the groove 21 is designed to reinforce the connection of the supporting structure of the vehicle cabin.
- the grooves (23) and (24) make it possible to attach to the frame elements such as, for example, footrests, deflectors, accessory supports, mirrors, handles, roof load carriers, protections windshields, work lights or signaling, cameras, and other electrical devices.
- the shape of the grooves (22, 23, 24) is designed to accommodate the electrical wiring of the equipment to be attached without the need to drill the frame.
- the grooves 21 and 22 are oriented towards the interior of the cabin and are used together to fix elements when great rigidity is required.
- the groove (22) allows accessories to be placed, such as displays, rearview cameras, grab handles, mobile phone holders, etc.
- the grooves (23) and (24) are oriented towards the outside of the cabin and allow the passage of electrical cables to power light signaling elements or other electrical devices at the same time as the fixing of the elements.
