Abstract

A transvascular thrombectomy system includes an aspiration catheter and a first vacuum chamber having a clot filter and configured for use within a sterile field. A vacuum line connects the first vacuum chamber to a second vacuum chamber and aspiration pump configured for use outside of the sterile field. The first and second chambers may be brought to a low pressure by the aspiration pump. Opening of a valve enables rapid aspiration from the patient into the first chamber. A clot engagement tool having a distal helical thread may be advanced through the catheter to engage a clot.
