Abstract

It is a survival case that contains essential goods and tools for one or more missing persons in need of first aid. The survival case can be dropped, combined with a parachute, from an aircraft at the area where the missing person or persons are.

Description

SURVIVAL CASE
The present invention relates, in general, to a survival case. Specifically, it is a case that contains basic necessities and tools.
In the case where there is a need to rescue missing persons, the first necessity, even before their recovery itself, is to provide initial assistance and medical support.
In fact, in cases where the missing persons are in inaccessible environments and therefore difficult to reach, there is a need to provide goods and tools to ensure, first and foremost, their survival.
After providing this first essential aid, it is possible to proceed with the recovery activities of these people.
Survival kits are known to be provided to missing and hard-to-reach people.
These kits are often incomplete and limited.
In addition, these kits are usually launched from aerial vehicles, and it can happen that they are ruined in their impact on the ground, becoming at least partially unusable.
What is more, kits of the known type, while presenting useful survival tools, are not provided with aids to facilitate the tracing of missing persons who have come into possession of the kit.
The purpose of the invention is, therefore, to provide a survival case for missing persons that overcomes the problems of the known technique.
Another purpose of the invention is to provide a survival case that has within it goods and tools useful to missing persons, regardless of their situation and location. A further purpose of the invention is to provide a survival case that is useful for missing persons not only to ensure their survival, but also for their subsequent recovery.
Yet another purpose of the invention is to provide a survival case that can be launched from significant heights without causing it to break or even only to be partially unusable.
All purposes and more are achieved, according to the invention, by a survival case as defined in the appended main claim.
Particular features of the invention are, in addition, defined by the dependent claims.
Further features and particulars of the invention may be better understood from the following description, given as a non-limiting example, as well as from the accompanying drawing plates, in which: figure 1 is a schematic view of a survival case, according to the invention; figures 2, 3 are schematic views from above of a portion of the case in figure 1.
With reference to the appended figures, particularly Figure 1 , a survival case 10 is denoted a survival case that can be used by missing persons to provide initial assistance and medical support.
Specifically, survival case 10 can be dropped from an aircraft at the area where a person is presumed to be missing.
The survival case 10 includes, according to the mode of construction illustrated here, a containing element 11 made of fabric, which is to be understood in a broad sense so that it does not break when it impacts the ground.
In addition, survival case 10 is buoyant, so that it can also be launched into the sea.
The survival case 10 is externally orange in color, but it can still be yellow in color.
As per Figure 1 , survival case 10 has a basically parallelepiped shape, with an upper handle 12 at the sides of which are arranged a first control area 14 and a second control area 16, later described.
On the top two corners and adjacent to control areas 14, 16 are arranged a first loop 18 and a second loop 20, to which a parachute, for example, can be attached by means of two carabiners.
On the sides of survival case 10 white strips 22 may be arranged, possibly reflective.
In addition, survival case 10 includes LED lights arranged on several sides of the case itself.
Specifically, on the bottom side is centrally arranged an LED light on whose sides are arranged a red light and a green light, respectively.
The survival case 10 is also equipped with a loud intermittent beeping signal source.
The LED lights and the acoustic signal source are powered by a 12V rechargeable battery placed inside the case.
The first control area 14, shown individually in Figure 2, includes:
- a general power button 24, which is useful for operating the various devices in the suitcase 10;
- a USB socket useful, for example, for charging a phone;
- a first power button 28, adjacent to a parachute design, useful for activating the "parachute" mode; - a second power button 30, adjacent to a drawing of a flashlight, useful for activating the "lantern" mode.
Specifically, the "parachute" mode requires the LED lights to be on, as well as an audible signal. This mode is activated when the survival case 10 is dropped from the plane, attached to a parachute.
In "parachute" mode, the white LED lights will go on intermittently as well as the beep, while the red light and green light that are on the two sides will be steady.
The "lantern" mode, on the other hand, requires the LED lights to be on continuously and the audible signal to be off. This mode is activated when Suitcase 10 is used as a lantern to illuminate the area around Suitcase 10 itself.
Specifically, in the "lantern" mode, the white LED lights on the 4 sides are permanently on, while the upper and lower white LED lights, along with the four red and green lights remain off, as does the buzzer.
The second control area 16 includes:
- a display 32 that illustrates the charge level of the battery inside the case 10;
- a jack 34 for the input of a charging cable for the aforementioned battery.
The survival case 10 can have the following measurements: width cm 52, height cm 40, depth cm 19.5.
The survival case 10 can have a weight of about 8 kg, which is reduced to 3 kg if deprived of the items it contains.
The parachute is orange and white in color, and can have a diameter of 250 cm when the parachute is open, for a maximum capacity of 20 kg.
The survival case includes inside: - a 5-liter canister of water;
- a first aid medical kit;
- a GPS;
- some thermal coats;
- a small tent;
- some energy bars;
- a whistle;
- a knife;
- a flashlight;
- some ropes;
- paper;
- a lighter;
- a multiple cord for charging phones.
Additional devices or tools can also be inserted.
The survival case 10 also has loops useful for attaching shoulder straps with hooks having the function of transforming the survival case 10 into a backpack, so that the case itself can be more easily carried.
The survival case also includes a pocket with a transparent plastic so that a sheet with references (address and phone numbers) of the company that owns the survival case can be placed inside.
Additional variants and methods of construction other than those previously illustrated are possible and are to be considered within the scope of protection defined by the attached claims.
For example, a survival case according to the invention can be made of nylon with plastic reinforcements padded inside on the six sides, so that it always maintains a semi-rigid shape.
