Definitions
- Vehicle roof window with integrated light source Vehicle roof window with integrated light source
- the invention relates to a vehicle roof window with an integrated light source, which is intended in particular as a reading light.
- the invention also relates to the production and use of the vehicle roof pane.
- the light sources can, for example, serve as reading lights for the vehicle occupants, with each vehicle occupant preferably being assigned their own light source, which can be operated independently of the others. If the vehicle is equipped with a roof window, the positioning of the light sources can sometimes be a problem. These can be integrated into the roof lining on the side of the roof window. However, in order to achieve more favorable positioning and attractive aesthetics, it may be desirable to integrate the light sources directly into the vehicle roof window.
- WO2019105855 discloses a composite pane with a recess for integrating electronic components, the recess comprising a laser-drilled feedthrough through the inner pane.
- WO2017029384, WO2018/002707 and WO2018002723 disclose composite panes with capacitive buttons that are used to control integrated light sources.
- WO2021025651 discloses a pane with an emissivity-reducing coating, electrical lines being formed from the coating for a light source mounted on the coating.
- the present invention is based on the object of providing a vehicle roof window with at least one integrated light source.
- the vehicle roof glass should be aesthetically pleasing and ensure easy access to the light source for maintenance or replacement purposes. If there are several light sources, they should preferably be independent of each other and as intuitive to operate as possible.
- the object of the present invention is achieved by a vehicle roof window according to independent claim 1.
- the vehicle roof pane according to the invention is a composite pane. It comprises an outer pane and an inner pane, which are connected to one another via an intermediate layer.
- the vehicle roof window is intended to separate the vehicle interior from the outside environment in a window opening, namely the roof window opening of a vehicle.
- the inner pane refers to the pane facing the interior.
- the outer pane refers to the pane facing the external environment.
- the outer pane and the inner pane each have an outside surface and an inside surface and a circumferential side edge surface running between them.
- the outside surface refers to the main surface which is intended to face the external environment in the installed position.
- the interior-side surface refers to the main surface which is intended to face the interior in the installed position.
- the interior surface of the outer pane and the outside surface of the inner pane face each other and are connected to one another by the thermoplastic intermediate layer.
- the vehicle roof pane has at least one recess.
- the recess extends from the interior surface of the inner pane into the composite pane.
- the recess is formed at least by a passage through the inner pane.
- This passage can also be referred to as a hole in the inner pane; it extends from the interior surface of the inner pane through the entire inner pane to the outside surface of the inner pane.
- the recess according to the invention can be formed solely by passing through the inner pane. Optionally, it can also extend from the passage of the inner pane into the intermediate layer or extend through the entire intermediate layer.
- a section adjacent to the inner pane or a layer of the intermediate layer adjacent to the inner pane is also provided with a recess, which ends within the intermediate layer in the manner of a blind hole. If the recess extends through the intermediate layer, there is a passage through the entire intermediate layer - the recess in this case is a passage through the inner pane and the intermediate layer, which extends from the interior surface of the inner pane through the entire Inner pane and the entire intermediate layer up to the interior surface of the outer pane.
- a light source and an optical element are inserted into the recess.
- the light source is directed towards the vehicle interior.
- the light source is at a smaller distance from the outer pane than the optical element. This means that it is directed towards the optical element.
- the light source is therefore arranged in such a way that its intended radiation direction faces the optical element, the interior surface of the inner window and the vehicle interior, so that the radiation from the light source passes through the optical element and out of the composite pane or the recess via the interior surface from the inner window towards the vehicle interior.
- the electrical contacts of the light source are preferably arranged on the side of the light source opposite the radiation direction and face the outer pane.
- the vehicle roof window is also equipped with electrical lines which are electrically connected to the light source.
- the electrical cables are used to supply power to the light source. They are electrically connected to the contacts of the light source.
- the vehicle roof pane is equipped with several recesses according to the invention, with a light source and an optical element being inserted into each recess in the manner according to the invention.
- the light sources of the different recesses are preferably electrically contacted independently of one another by their own electrical lines, so that they can be operated independently of one another, in particular can be switched on and off independently of one another.
- the light source according to the invention is used as a reading light for the vehicle occupants. If a plurality of recesses with light sources are present, these are preferably arranged on the roof window and distributed over the roof window in such a way that a reading light is assigned to each vehicle occupant, for example the driver, the front passenger and two or three passengers in the back seat of the vehicle.
- the light source assigned to the respective occupant is arranged in an area of the roof pane, which is positioned above his seat when the roof pane is installed.
- the recess with the light source (or all recesses with light sources if a plurality of them are present) is preferably arranged in a transparent viewing area of the vehicle roof window.
- this transparent see-through area is typically surrounded in a frame-like manner by an opaque masking area.
- a masking area refers to an area of the roof pane through which a view is not possible.
- the light transmission of the masking area is preferably essentially 0%.
- a see-through area refers to an area of the roof pane that allows a view and therefore has a certain transparency or at least translucency.
- the light transmission of the see-through area is preferably at least 5%, particularly preferably at least 10%.
- the desired transmittance can be achieved in particular by tinting the outer pane, the inner pane and/or the intermediate layer.
- Light transmission refers in particular to the overall transmission that is used for characterization in the vehicle sector, determined by the procedure for testing the light transmission of motor vehicle windows specified by ECE-R 43, Annex 3, ⁇ 9.1.
- the masking area is arranged in a peripheral edge area of the roof pane. The masking area is primarily used to protect the adhesive used to bond the roof pane to the vehicle body from UV radiation. In addition, any electrical connections in the masking area can be concealed.
- the masking area is usually formed by an opaque, in particular black, print (covering print), in particular on the interior-side surface of the outer pane and/or the interior-side surface of the inner pane.
- the cover print typically consists of a screen-printed and then baked enamel containing glass frits and colorants (especially pigments).
- the pigment is typically a black pigment, for example carbon black, aniline black, bone black, iron oxide black, spinel black and/or graphite.
- the cover print preferably has a thickness of 5 pm to 50 pm, particularly preferably 8 pm to 25 pm.

- the passage through the inner pane preferably has round, in particular circular, base surfaces in the plane of the interior and exterior surfaces of the inner pane. Overall, it then has the shape of a cylinder (in particular a circular cylinder) with a constant cross-sectional area or the shape of a truncated cone (cone shape) with a continuously changing cross-sectional area.
- the implementation is limited by a surrounding edge surface. The edge surface forms the lateral surface of said cylinder or truncated cone, while the base surfaces are provided by the inlet and outlet openings of the bushing in the outside surface and the inside surface of the inner pane.
- the passage through the inner pane is preferably created by laser drilling.
- the optical element serves to shape the light beam emanating from the light source and is designed suitably for this purpose.
- the optical element is typically a lens.
- the light radiation emanating from the light source which can be treated approximately as a point source, is bundled by the optical element so that it is concentrated on the intended steel area.
- the optical element is designed as a Fresnel lens (in particular in the manner of a headlight lens) or as a TIR lens (TIR: total internal reflection).
- Fresnel lenses focus the light emitted from the light source in the direction of the optical axis.
- TIR lenses consist of a core material and a surrounding cladding material. The core material has a higher refractive index than the cladding material.
- the light beam is then totally reflected at the transition between the core and cladding material and remains within the TIR lens, which acts as an optical waveguide.
- the TIR lens also serves to focus or collimate the light radiation in the direction of the optical axis (that is, to direct the light beam parallel and allow it to emerge).
- the optical element is preferably made of a transparent polymer.
- a transparent polymer optical element is inexpensive and has a low weight. Since there are typically not particularly high demands on the optical quality of the optical element, these can be met with polymer optical elements. If the optical element is transparent, it is advantageously inconspicuous and only slightly impairs the view through the roof pane.
- Said transparent polymer is preferably polycarbonate (PC), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
- the optical element can also be made of glass, for example.
- the optical element is preferably inserted into the recess in a non-destructive, detachable manner, in particular clamped or snapped into place in the feedthrough through the inner pane and thereby stably fixed in the recess according to the invention.
- the light source is preferably a light-emitting diode (LED, light-emitting diode).
- the electroluminescent material of the light-emitting diode can be, for example, an inorganic semiconductor or an organic semiconductor. In the latter case one also speaks of an organic light emitting diode (OLED, organic light emitting diode).
- the light source is connected to the electrical lines in an electrically conductive manner, for example via a solder mass or an electrically conductive adhesive.
- the solder mass or adhesive also mechanically fixes the light source in the roof pane, which is sufficient due to the typically low weight of the light source.
- the light source can be mechanically fixed by additional measures, for example an additional adhesive or clamping or latching devices.
- the light source and the optical element can be combined into a single component, for example by fixing the LED in a polymer socket which also contains the optical element.
- the optical element can be formed in one piece with the socket or can also be fixed in the socket.
- the edge surface of the feedthrough is exposed by the inner pane. So it is not covered by another element.
- the optical element has direct contact with the edge surface of the bushing and is in particular inserted directly into the bushing.
- the connection between the bushing and the optical element can preferably be detached in a non-destructive manner; the optical element is in particular clamped directly into the bushing.
- the optical element can be equipped on the side with flexible, elastically deformable locking lugs, which are pressed together for insertion and then spread so that they rest non-positively on the edge surface of the bushing and fix the optical element in the bushing.
- the feedthrough through the inner pane is conical, i.e.
- the opening of the feedthrough in the outside surface is therefore larger Surface as the opening of the bushing in the interior surface.
- the cross-sectional area of the bushing becomes, in particular, continuously smaller starting from the outside surface of the inner pane in the direction of the inside surface of the inner pane. This has the advantage that the clamped optical element is fixed even more stably in the feedthrough. Alternatively, it is also possible to fix the optical element in the feedthrough, for example using an adhesive.
- the feedthrough through the inner pane is provided with a socket.
- the socket covers the circumferential edge surface of the bushing and, based on this, can also extend to a surrounding area of the outside and/or inside surface of the inner pane.
- the socket in turn has a passage or recess into which the optical element is inserted, preferably detachable in a non-destructive manner, in particular screwed on, clamped or snapped in, alternatively, for example, glued or welded on.
- connection between the optical element and the socket by means of clamps or snaps, because on the one hand these connections can be released without destruction and on the other hand they can be released very quickly and easily (in contrast, for example, to a screw connection).
- the optical element can be equipped on the side with flexible, elastically deformable locking lugs, which are pressed together for insertion and then spread and thereby fix the optical element in the bushing or recess of the socket.
- the connection can be non-positive, with the locking lugs resting on the edge surface of the socket bushing.
- the passage or recess of the socket is preferably conical, i.e.
- connection can be positive if the edge surface of the feedthrough or recess of the socket is designed with complementary locking openings into which the locking lugs of the optical element lock.
- edge surface with latching lugs and the optical element is designed with complementary latching openings or with latching lugs of the socket closing over the optical element.
- the socket can only be used to attach the optical element.
- the light source can also be inserted into the socket.
- the socket preferably has electrical contact surfaces that are suitable for supplying the light source used with an electrical voltage.
- the socket further preferably has electrical connecting lines between said contact surfaces and electrical connection surfaces.
- the connection surfaces are in contact with the electrical lines according to the invention in order to supply the contact surfaces with voltage.
- the socket is preferably not provided with a feedthrough, but rather with a bag-like recess (recess in the manner of a blind hole), which extends from the interior surface of the inner pane to a bottom surface.

- the frame is preferably made of a polymer, particularly preferably of a transparent polymer.
- Suitable transparent polymers are, for example, polycarbonate (PC), PMMA, PET or polyamide.
- optical element is preferred
- the optical element or the socket is equipped with (in particular flexible, elastically deformable) locking lugs. If the optical element is equipped with locking lugs, these have direct contact with the edge surface of the bushing (if the optical element is clamped into the bushing in a force-fitting manner) or direct contact with the edge surface of a recess in the socket (if the optical element is clamped in a force-fitting manner in the socket). ) or are in complementary locking openings locked into the socket (if the optical element is positively locked into the socket). If the frame is equipped with locking lugs, these are locked into complementary locking openings of the optical element (even then the optical element is positively locked to the socket).
- the electrical lines according to the invention are formed from a transparent, electrically conductive coating.
- a coating is considered transparent if it has an average transmission in the visible spectral range of at least 70%, preferably at least 80%, and thereby does not significantly restrict the visibility through the vehicle window. This has the advantage that they are inconspicuous and do not significantly restrict the view through the roof pane.
- coatings that are already present can be used for this purpose in order to provide the roof pane with additional functions, for example sun protection coatings or emissivity-reducing coatings (so-called LowE coatings).
- coatings can also be used that are intended specifically for the purpose of electrically contacting the light source and do not fulfill any other function.
- the depth of the recess depends on where (in which plane) the coating is arranged in the composite pane. If the light source is to be connected directly to the coating, the recess extends from the interior surface of the inner pane to the electrically conductive coating, so that an area of the coating is exposed in the recess and can be connected to the light source. Connection surfaces can be provided for connection to the light source, which are provided, for example, with an additional print containing silver.
- the coating can be a large-area coating in which the electrical lines are created by insulation lines. This is particularly suitable if the coating fulfills another function, for example an IR-reflecting function.
- the insulation lines are linear coating-free areas that electrically isolate the lines from the surrounding coating. They can be formed in the coating, for example, by laser ablation. On the other hand, if the coating only serves to electrically contact the light source, it is also possible for the coating to be present exclusively in the area of the lines. The coating is then formed into the lines as a whole, which can be achieved, for example, using masking techniques during the coating process.
- each light source is assigned two electrical lines, each line connecting the light source to one of the two poles of a voltage source.
- the lines run from the light source to a section of the edge area of the roof pane, where they are connected, for example, to flat conductors, which are connected directly or indirectly to the voltage source via further cables.
- the lines are made of a transparent, electrically conductive coating on the surface of the outer pane facing the intermediate layer, i.e. the interior side.
- the coating is preferably a sun protection coating which has at least one IR-reflecting layer based on a metal (in particular silver).
- the metallic layer which is typically susceptible to corrosion, is protected inside the composite pane.
- the recess extends through the entire intermediate layer, so that the connection area of the coating is exposed in the recess.
- the recess is a passage through the entire inner pane and the entire intermediate layer.
- the light source is preferably connected directly to the electrical lines, the optical element is either inserted directly into the feedthrough of the inner pane or into a socket in this feedthrough, as described above.
- a socket it is also possible for a socket to be inserted into the recess, which has contact surfaces for the light source, as described above.
- the socket preferably extends to the electrically conductive coating, so that connection surfaces in the surface of the base of the socket, which faces the outer pane, are in contact with the lines and the contact surfaces in the surface of the base of the socket, which are the Facing the inner pane, it is in contact with the light source.

- TCO transparent, electrically conductive oxide
- ITO indium tin oxide
- the recess is preferably formed by a feedthrough exclusively through the inner pane, and therefore does not extend into the intermediate layer. This configuration is particularly advantageous if the feedthrough through the inner pane is provided with a socket that also contains contact surfaces for the light source, as described above. The connection surfaces of the socket are then preferably in contact with the coating, and the electrical current is fed to the contact surfaces via the connecting lines integrated into the socket.
- the lines are formed from a transparent, electrically conductive coating on a carrier film within the intermediate layer.
- the coating is preferably a sun protection coating which has at least one IR-reflecting layer based on a metal (in particular silver).
- the metallic layer which is typically susceptible to corrosion, is protected inside the composite pane.
- the coating only serves for the electrical connection of the light source and does not fulfill any sun protection function, then the carrier film can be made correspondingly smaller - it is then only present in the cable area, while the majority of the roof pane is not provided with the carrier film.
- the coating preferably comprises at least one layer based on a metal (in particular silver), which is advantageous due to the high electrical conductivity.
- the intermediate layer comprises, in an advantageous variant, at least a first thermoplastic layer and a second thermoplastic layer.
- the thermoplastic layers are arranged flat one above the other, with the first thermoplastic layer having direct contact with the inner pane.

- the carrier film is arranged in an area of the vehicle roof window that contains the recess - the carrier film therefore overlaps the recess and preferably extends to the side edge of the roof window.
- the recess extends through the entire first thermoplastic layer, so that the connection area of the coating is exposed in the recess.
- the recess is a passage through the entire inner pane and the entire first thermoplastic layer adjacent to the inner pane.
- the light source is preferably connected directly to the electrical lines, the optical element is either inserted directly into the feedthrough of the inner pane or into a socket in this feedthrough, as described above. However, it is also possible for a socket to be inserted into the recess, which has contact surfaces for the light source, as described above.
- the socket preferably extends to the electrically conductive coating, so that connection surfaces in the surface of the base of the socket, which face the outer pane and the carrier film, are in contact with the lines and the contact surfaces in the surface of the bottom of the socket , which faces the inner pane, is in contact with the light source.
- thermoplastic layers can also be present between the carrier film and the second thermoplastic layer.
- the recess extends through all thermoplastic layers between the inner pane and the carrier film, so that the connection area of the coating is exposed in the recess.
- the carrier film has direct contact with the inner pane or outer pane and is not inserted between two thermoplastic films of the intermediate layer.
- the surface of the carrier film that carries the coating faces the inner pane.
- the recess extends to the carrier film, so that the connection area of the coating is exposed in the recess. If the carrier film has contact with the inner pane, it preferably only extends through the inner pane. If the carrier film is in contact with the outer pane, it extends through the inner pane and the entire intermediate layer.
- the light source is preferably connected directly to the electrical lines, the optical element is either inserted directly into the feedthrough of the inner pane or into a socket in this feedthrough, as described above.
- Said carrier film is preferably based on or made from PET.
- the proportion of PET is preferably more than 90% by weight, particularly preferably more than 95% by weight.
- the carrier film preferably consists essentially of PET.
- the carrier film preferably has a thickness of 20 pm to 200 pm, particularly preferably 25 pm to 150 pm.
- thicker carrier films can also be used with thicknesses of, for example, up to 800 ⁇ m, especially if a thermoplastic layer, which is present in the rest of the pane, has been locally removed in the area of the carrier film.
- the carrier film can then be made correspondingly thick in order to compensate for the thickness of the missing thermoplastic layer.
- several films of the carrier film type can be placed on top of each other.
- a sun protection coating is intended to reflect infrared components of solar radiation in order to reduce the heating of the vehicle interior.
- the IR-reflecting effect relates in particular to the near infrared range, for example in the range from 800 nm to 1500 nm.
- the sun protection coating is in particular a stack of thin layers, with the thickness of the individual layers being less than 1 pm.
- the thin-film stack contains one or more IR-reflecting layers based on a metal, in particular silver, alternatively, for example, gold, aluminum or copper.
- dielectric layers are typically present. Common dielectric layers of sun protection coatings include:
- Anti-reflective layers that reduce the reflection of visible light and thus increase the transparency of the coated pane, for example based on silicon nitride, silicon-metal mixed nitrides such as silicon zirconium nitride, titanium oxide, aluminum nitride or tin oxide, with layer thicknesses of, for example, 10 nm to 100 nm;
- Adaptation layers which improve the crystallinity of the electrically conductive layer, for example based on zinc oxide, with layer thicknesses of, for example, 3 nm to 20 nm;
- Smoothing layers which improve the surface structure for the layers above, for example based on a non-crystalline oxide of tin, silicon, titanium, zirconium, hafnium, zinc, gallium and / or indium, in particular based on tin-zinc mixed oxide, with layer thicknesses of, for example 3nm to 20nm.
- Emissivity-reducing coatings are also known as thermal radiation-reflecting coatings, low-emissivity coatings or low-emissivity coatings. Emissivity is the measure that indicates how much heat radiation the pane emits into an interior when installed compared to an ideal heat radiator (a black body). Emissivity-reducing coatings have the function of preventing the radiation of heat into the interior (IR components of solar radiation and in particular the thermal radiation of the pane itself) and also the radiation of heat from the interior. They have reflective properties against infrared radiation, especially against thermal radiation in the spectral range of 5 pm - 50 pm (see also standard DIN EN 12898:2019-06). This effectively improves the thermal comfort in the interior.
- the emissivity-reducing coatings can at least partially reflect the heat radiation emitted by the entire pane towards the interior. When outside temperatures are low, they can reflect the heat radiation emitted from the interior and thus reduce the effect of the cold pane as a heat sink.
- the emissivity-reducing coating is in particular a stack of thin layers, the thickness of the individual layers being less than 1 pm.
- the thin-film stack contains one (optionally several) IR-reflecting layers, preferably based on an electrically conductive oxide (TCO), in particular based on indium tin oxide (ITO), alternatively, for example, based on indium-zinc mixed oxide (IZO), gallium-doped tin oxide (GZO), fluorine-doped tin oxide (SnO2:F) or antimony-doped tin oxide (SnO 2 :Sb).

- dielectric layers are typically present.
- Common dielectric layers of the emissivity-reducing coating are, for example:
- Anti-reflection layers which have a lower refractive index than the TCO layer and are arranged below and above it in order to increase the transmission through the pane and reduce the reflectivity, for example based on silicon oxide, with layer thicknesses of, for example, 10 nm to 100 nm;
- Barrier layers above the TCO layer which are used to regulate oxygen diffusion during a temperature treatment of the roof pane (for example as part of a bending process), for example based on silicon nitride or silicon carbide, with layer thicknesses of, for example, 5 nm to 30 nm;
- Blocker layers below the TCO layer which are intended to prevent alkali diffusion from the inner pane into the TCO layer, for example based on silicon nitride or aluminum nitride, with layer thicknesses of, for example, 10 nm to 50 nm.
- the transparent coating from which the lines are formed fulfills a further function, for example a sun protection function or an emissivity-reducing function, it preferably covers the entire viewing area of the vehicle roof window, with the exception of the insulation lines for forming the electrical lines and optionally other local ones Areas that act as communication, sensor or camera windows to ensure the transmission of electromagnetic radiation through the roof pane. If the transparent coating does not fulfill such a function, the coating is preferably essentially limited to the areas of the lines, while the majority of the transparent area is not provided with the coating.
- the electrical lines do not necessarily have to be made of a transparent coating.
- Metallic wires for example made of copper or tungsten
- Such printed lines are common in the vehicle sector, for example as heating conductors on the rear window. They are typically applied using a screen printing process and then baked. They typically contain glass frits, which ensure a stable connection to the pane surface, and metallic particles (especially silver particles), which provide electrical conductivity.
- Such wires or printed lines are not transparent, so they are visually more noticeable, but this is sometimes acceptable due to their small width.
- the electrical lines are dimensioned such that they also form a series resistor for the light source.
- the light source is a light-emitting diode - the series resistor serves to limit the current in order to avoid destroying the light-emitting diode.
- the series resistor which is formed in one piece with the lines, is connected in series with the light source and limits the electrical voltage or the electrical current to non-critical values.
- the series resistor can be formed or adjusted by appropriately dimensioning the electrical lines. This is particularly easy if the lines are made of a transparent coating.
- the series resistor can then be formed or adjusted by the design of the insulation lines, which isolate the electrical lines from the surrounding coating.
- the vehicle roof window contains a capacitive button which is assigned to the light source and is used to switch the light source on and off. If the roof pane comprises a plurality of recesses with light sources, each light source is preferably assigned its own button so that the light sources can be operated independently of one another.
- the button is preferably arranged around the associated recess or near it, for example at a maximum distance of 10 cm.
- the capacitive button is an area of the roof window that triggers a switching process when an operator's finger touches or approaches it.
- the area in question is provided with at least one surface electrode. Via an external one
- the capacitance of the surface electrode is measured by the control electronics.
- the capacitance of the surface electrode changes relative to ground when a grounded body comes near it or, for example, touches an insulator layer above the surface electrode.

- the button is determined by the shape and size of the surface electrode.
- said area is provided with two surface electrodes which are capacitively coupled to one another.
- the electrodes can, for example, have spiral-like, comb-like or meander-like shapes.
- the capacitance of the capacitor formed by the electrodes changes when a body approaches.

- the electrical lines for the light source(s) and the capacitive button are formed from the same transparent, electrically conductive coating.
- the at least one surface electrode of the button can also be isolated from the surrounding coating by insulation lines.
- said coating can be a coating on the interior surface of the outer pane, a coating on a carrier film in the intermediate layer or a coating on the outside or interior surface of the inner pane.
- the surface electrode(s) of the button on the one hand and the electrical lines for the light source(s) on the other hand may be formed from two different transparent coatings.

- the button(s) coated carrier films are inserted into the corresponding area of the composite pane, or vice versa.
- the surface electrodes of the buttons to be formed by a printed conductive paste, in particular screen printing paste with glass frits and silver particles, which are burned into a surface of the outer pane or the inner pane.
- the outer pane and the inner pane are preferably made of glass, particularly preferably of soda-lime glass, as is common for window panes.
- the panes can also be made from other types of glass, for example quartz glass, borosilicate glass or aluminosilicate glass.

- the intermediate layer preferably contains polyvinyl butyral (PVB), ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), or polyurethane (PU).
- the intermediate layer comprises one or more thermoplastic layers.
- Each layer of the intermediate layer is preferably formed from a film, particularly preferably a film based on PVB, EVA or PU, in particular PVB. This means that the layer or film contains the majority of the material in question (proportion of greater than 50% by weight) and can also optionally contain other components, for example plasticizers, stabilizers, UV or IR absorbers.
- the thickness of each thermoplastic layer is preferably from 0.2 mm to 2 mm, particularly preferably from 0.3 mm to 1 mm. For example, films with standard thicknesses of 0.38 mm or 0.76 mm can be used.
- the invention also includes a method for producing a vehicle roof pane, wherein
- thermoplastic layer (i) an outer pane, an inner pane and at least one thermoplastic layer are provided, (ii) a feedthrough is created through the inner pane and optionally through the thermoplastic layer,
- the outer pane, the at least one thermoplastic layer and the inner pane are arranged in the specified order to form a layer stack, the passage of the inner pane, possibly together with the passage of the at least one thermoplastic layer, forming a recess (A),
- the layer stack is laminated to form a composite pane, with a thermoplastic intermediate layer being produced from the at least one thermoplastic layer,

- an optical element is inserted into the recess in the beam path of the light source.
- the implementation in method step (ii) is introduced into the inner pane by laser drilling.
- This means implementation can be implemented in any form with high precision.
- Laser-drilled bushings can also be distinguished from mechanically drilled bushings on the finished product, in particular in that they typically do not have any edge grinding and are of good quality without scalloping or other damage to the edge surface, as well as by the characteristic tensile and compressive stresses in the glass.
- the outer pane and the inner pane are bent by subjecting them to a bending process before being arranged into the layer stack.
- the disks are softened by heating so that they become plastically formable and then shaped by methods known per se, for example gravity bending, press bending and/or suction bending. Typical temperatures for glass bending processes are, for example, from 500°C to 700°C.
- the disks can be made into a cylindrical or spherical curved shape.
- the feedthrough is preferably created in the already bent inner pane (the inner pane and the outer pane in Process step (i) is therefore provided as curved disks), in particular by laser drilling. Laser drilling is more applicable to curved glass panels than mechanical drilling, which can lead to glass breakage due to the stresses created in the glass during the bending process.
- the outer pane and the inner pane are preferably bent simultaneously, with the outer pane and the inner pane lying congruently on top of one another. Then their shape is optimally matched to one another, so that the composite pane produced from them is of high quality.
- the bushing should not yet be in place because the bushing allows air to get between the glass panes and they do not remain in contact with each other. Therefore, the drilling of the bushing is preferably carried out after bending, in particular by laser drilling.
- laser drilling is carried out with a laser that emits pulsed radiation in the green spectral range, in particular in the spectral range from 500 nm to 550 nm.
- the pulse lengths are preferably in the nanosecond range.
- the focused laser radiation is moved along the intended edge surface of the feedthrough, for example spirally. Once the entire edge surface has been worked out, the glass material circumscribed by the laser can be removed or falls out of the passage that has now been created due to gravity.
- Suitable lasers are, for example, Nd:YAG lasers or Yb:YAG lasers.
- the bushing through the inner pane is to be provided with a socket that covers the edge surface, this is preferably done after drilling the bushing and before arranging it into the layer stack.
- the socket can be produced, for example, by injection molding, whereby it is either injected directly onto the inner pane or is subsequently attached, for example glued on.
- thermoplastic layer In method step (iii), the passage of the inner pane and the passage of the at least one thermoplastic layer, if present, are arranged in alignment so that they together form the recess. If there are several thermoplastic layers, only one of which is provided with a feedthrough, this is of course arranged in the layer stack in direct contact with the inner pane. There are several thermoplastic layers, some of which have a feedthrough are, while others have no feedthrough, the layers with feedthrough are of course arranged in direct contact with one another and overall directly adjacent to the inner pane in the layer stack.
- the electrical lines are provided before the disks and layers are arranged into the layer stack. If the lines are to be formed from a transparent coating on one of the panes, the corresponding surface of the pane is previously coated, for example by physical vapor deposition (PVD), particularly preferably by cathode sputtering (“sputtering”), very particularly preferably by magnetic field-assisted cathode sputtering (“ Magnetron sputtering”), or by other thin film methods, for example by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), in particular plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), by vapor deposition or by atomic layer deposition (ALD).

Description
Entspiegelungsschichten, welche die Reflexion von sichtbarem Licht senken und somit die Transparenz der beschichteten Scheibe erhöhen, beispielsweise auf Basis von Siliziumnitrid, Silizium-Metall-Mischnitriden wie Siliziumzirkoniumnitrid, Titanoxid, Aluminiumnitrid oder Zinnoxid, mit Schichtdicken von beispielsweise 10 nm bis 100 nm;
Anpassungsschichten, welche die Kristallinität der elektrisch leitfähigen Schicht verbessern, beispielsweise auf Basis von Zinkoxid, mit Schichtdicken von beispielsweise 3 nm bis 20 nm;
Antireflexionsschichten, welche einen geringeren Brechungsindex aufweisen als die TCO-Schicht und unterhalb wie oberhalb derselben angeordnet sind, um die Transmission durch die Scheibe zu erhöhen und die Reflexivität zu verringern, beispielsweise auf Basis von Siliziumoxid, mit Schichtdicken von beispielsweise 10 nm bis 100 nm;
Barriereschichten oberhalb der TCO-Schicht, welche zur Regulierung von Sauerstoffdiffusion während einer Temperaturbehandlung der Dachscheibe (beispielsweise im Rahmen eines Biegeprozesses), beispielsweise auf Basis von Siliziumnitrid oder Siliziumcarbid, mit Schichtdicken von beispielsweise 5 nm bis 30 nm;
Verfahrensschritt (i) also als gebogene Scheiben bereitgestellt), insbesondere durch Laserbohren.
