Description
FLUSHING SYSTEM DEVELOPED FOR URINALS
Subject of the Invention
The invention relates to a urinal flushing system wherein the transfer of the flushing water from the clean water plumbing into the urinal is performed in such a way that the contaminants are prevented from mixing into the clean water plumbing.
State of the Art
Today, the urinals are often preferred in the bathrooms and toilet rooms. Like the other ceramic sanitary ware, it is necessary to clean the urinals following the use. According to the state of the art, various flushing systems are utilized for this purpose. A first solution available in the state of the art includes accumulating the water inside a flush tank and flushing the urinal by way of discharge of the accumulated water into the urinal as a result of the triggering of the flushing system. This practice requires the positioning of the flush tank at a location higher than the urinal as well as the use of extra space. Further, a substantial modification is necessary for the mounting of said system.
Another system employed for the flushing is the one where the flushing is performed depending on the transfer of the water in the plumbing directly into the urinal. Due to its compact structure, said system is often preferred in the currently available urinals. However, that the clean water line directly opens into the urinal bowl in said system may cause some problems. Due to the clogging, which is possible to occur in the urinal and which may result in an increase in the water level inside the bowl or in the splashes, the contaminants may mix into the clean water plumbing via the end of the clean water plumbing opening into the urinal. This is one of the situations that are essential to avoid, since it causes serious health problems.
With the flushing system according to the invention, the water exiting the clean water plumbing is enabled to reach the urinal by passing through an air gap and thus the passage of the contaminants from the urinal into the clean water plumbing is prevented.
Object of the Invention
An object of the invention is to develop a flushing system, which enables the urinals to be flushed with water and prevents the passage of the contaminants from the urinal into the clean water plumbing.
Another object of the invention is to develop a flushing system wherein the water to be delivered into the urinal for the purpose of flushing is enabled to reach the urinal from the clean water plumbing by passing through an air gap.
Another object of the invention is to develop a flushing system, wherein the water that drips while the water delivered into the urinal for the purpose of flushing is passing through the air gap is conveyed directly to the wastewater drain system without entering the urinal.

Detailed Description of the Invention
The invention relates to a urinal (7) flushing system wherein the transfer of the flushing water from the clean water plumbing into the urinal (7) is performed in such a way that the contaminants are prevented from mixing into the clean water plumbing. More particularly, the invention relates to a flushing system wherein the water to be delivered from the clean water plumbing into the urinal (7) for the purpose of flushing is conveyed into said urinal (7) by passing said water through an air gap (33).
The urinal (7) flushing system according to the invention comprises in its most basic form;
• at least one water spray component (1), which enables the water in the clean water plumbing to be sprayed to advance through an air gap (33),
• at least one water capture component (2), which the water that is sprayed by the water spray component (1) and that passes through the air gap (33) enters, i.e., which enables the sprayed water to be captured,
• at least one body (3), on which the water spray component (1) and the water capture component (2) are positioned in such a way that an air gap (33) forms between them, and
• at least one water drip container (4), into which the water unable to reach the water capture component (2) during the transfer of the water from the water spray component (1) to the water capture component (2) drips and which enables the dripping water to be captured and conveyed to the wastewater drain system.
A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises at least one valve (6), which controls the flow of water from the clean water plumbing to the water spray component (1). Said valve (6) either permits or prevents the passage of water to the water spray component (1). Said valve (6) may be a mechanically controlled valve (6) and/or an electronically controlled valve (6). The valve (6) is positioned between the clean water plumbing and the water spray component (1).
The water spray component (1) comprises at least one water plumbing connection (11), via which the water enters, and at least one water spray end (12), via which the water exits. The water capture component (2) comprises at least one capture component water inlet (21), via which the water sprayed by the water spray component (1) enters by passing through the air gap (33), and at least one capture component water outlet (22), via which the water is transferred into the urinal (7). The water spray component (1) is positioned on the body (3) in such a way that the water spray end (12) faces the air gap (33), i.e., the water capture component (2). The water capture component (2) is positioned on the body (3) in such a way that the capture component water inlet (21) faces the air gap (33), i.e., the water spray end (12) of the water spray component (1).
The body (3) comprises at least one water spray component housing (31), on which the water spray component (1) is to be positioned, and at least one water capture component housing (32), on which the water capture component (2) is to be positioned. The air gap (33) is located between the water spray component housing (31) and the water capture component housing (32). The body (3) comprises at least one body water outlet gap (34), which enables the water dripping during the transfer of water from the water spray component (1) to the water capture component (2) to be conveyed into the water drip container (4). The water drip container (4) correspondingly comprises at least one drip container water inlet section (41), which enables the water exiting via the body water outlet gap (34) to be captured. The water drip container (4) is positioned below the body (3) in such a way that the body water outlet gap (34) corresponds to the drip container water inlet section (41). In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the water drip container (4) is positioned below the body (3) in such a way that a gap remains between the two. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the water drip container (4) is positioned below the body (3) in such a way that the body (3) and the water drip container (4) do not contact one another and a gap remains between the two, i.e., the drip container water inlet section (41) and/or the body water outlet gap (34) open/s into the atmosphere.
The water drip container (4) comprises at least one drip container water outlet (42), which enables the water entering via the drip container water inlet section (41) to be discharged from the water drip container (4). Said drip container water outlet (42) is preferably connected to the wastewater drain system and provides the transfer of the dripping water to the wastewater drain system.
A preferred embodiment of the invention comprises at least one trap (5), which prevents the penetration of malodor from the water drip container (4) and/or the urinal wastewater outlet (72) to the ambience. The trap (5) comprises at least one trap drip container water inlet (51), to which the drip container water outlet (42) is connected, and/or at least one trap urinal water inlet (52), to which the urinal wastewater outlet (72) is connected. The trap (5) comprises at least one trap wastewater drain system connection (54), which enables the water coming from the trap drip container water inlet (51) and/or the water coming from the trap urinal water inlet (52) to be conveyed to the wastewater drain system. The
penetration of the malodor from the trap wastewater drain system connection (54) to the water drip container (4) and/or the urinal (7) is prevented by at least one spiral structure (53) that the trap (5) comprises. Said spiral structure has an "e" shaped geometry and always contains some amount of water. Said water is present between the trap wastewater drain system connection (54) and the trap drip container water inlet (51) and/or the trap urinal water inlet (52) and thus prevents the penetration of air, i.e., the malodor. However, said spiral structure (53) has a form that permits the passage of water from the urinal (7) and/or the water drip container (4) to the wastewater drain system.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the transfer of water from the water drip container (4) to the trap (5) is realized by means of at least one water carrier (8). More particularly, the connection between the drip container water outlet (42) and the drip container water inlet section (41) is provided by at least one water carrier (8).
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the water reaching the water capture component (2) is conveyed by at least one water carrier (8) to the urinal water inlet (71) and thus the bowl of the urinal (7) is enabled to be flushed.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the water carrier (8) is a hose or a tube.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the water spray component (1) is a water spray component (1) with a cross-sectional area that decreases from the water plumbing connection (11) towards the water spray end (12). In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the water capture component (2) also has a cross-sectional area that decreases from the capture component water inlet (21) towards the capture component water outlet (22).
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the centers of the water spray component housing (31) and the water capture component housing (32) are coincident.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the cross-sectional area of the water spray end (12) of the water spray component (1) is smaller compared to the cross-sectional area of the capture component water inlet (21) of the water capture component (2).
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the body (3) and therefore the water spray component (1) and the water capture component (2) and/or the water drip container (4) are fixed on the valve (6).
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the components of the flushing system, more particularly the water spray component (1) and/or the water capture component (2) and/or the body (3) and/or the water drip container (4) and/or the trap (5) and/or the valve (6) are positioned within the urinal rear area gap (73) and accordingly, when the urinal (7) is fixed on the mounting surface, said components are situated between the urinal (7) and the mounting surface and are invisible to the user. Owing to said system being disposed within the urinal rear area gap (73), the mounting becomes possible to be performed on the existing installation without having to perform any modification on the mounting surface.
In the system according to the invention, the water reaching the valve (6) from the clean water plumbing is delivered by the valve (6) to the water spray component (1). The water reaching the water spray component (1) is sprayed from the water spray end (12) and the sprayed water reaches the water capture component (2), i.e., the capture component water inlet (21), by passing through the air gap (33) and is conveyed from the capture component water outlet (22) to the urinal water inlet (71), and as a result, the bowl of the urinal (7) is enabled to be flushed. Owing to the absence of any physical connection between the water spray component (1) and the water capture component (2), i.e., owing to the presence of the air gap (33) between the water spray component (1) and the water capture component (2), the passage by no means occurs from the water capture component (2) to the water spray component (1).
