Abstract

The invention relates to a baby changer, comprising a base (2) configured to accommodate a baby (B) and a protective barrier (3) arranged around the base (2). DESCRIPTION

field of invention

The present invention refers to a changing table for babies, specially designed to increase the level of safety and/or protection of babies during the tasks of changing the diaper and/or the baby's clothes, being applicable both at home and abroad. In public places.

Background of the invention

In Spain, approximately 10% of babies suffer an unintentional injury, the majority being due to falls, mostly produced at home (83.5%).

In babies between 0 and 6 months, the main causes of serious injuries are caused by falls from different heights, frequently from the changing table, bed, sofa or any other high surface where the baby is left alone, even for a few seconds. In most cases, when the baby falls to the floor, it is because the person who is changing him does not have everything he needs within reach and has to move or turn around to get a towel, diaper, clothes, etc. Falls from the bed or sofa are also common, because the father or mother has fallen asleep or been distracted. 69.4% of falls occur from the changing table and the bed, while falls from other furniture, such as sofas, tables, chairs or the kitchen counter account for 13.4%.

Falls are thus the main cause of hospitalization for injuries in babies under 12 months of age. The average age of admission is 8 months, and the most serious injuries occur in babies under 3 months of age who have fallen from a height greater than 50cm. The part most affected by the fall is usually the head, and the baby can suffer a skull fracture, break a bone, get a bruise or contusion. In the worst case, the baby could suffer a brain hemorrhage. In fact, most admissions are caused by head injuries, followed by skull fractures and intracranial bleeding. Therefore, it is important not to leave the baby alone without supervision on changing tables, chairs, beds, sofas, tables, etc., and it is also advisable to adopt more security measures. The present invention solves the aforementioned problems by means of a baby changing table that increases the level of safety and/or protection of babies, especially during the tasks of changing the baby's diaper and/or clothes, and that can also be adapted and easily use on different furniture (tables, chests of drawers, kitchen countertops, beds, etc.). Whose configuration allows it to be foldable, transportable and easily stored.

Description of the invention

The baby changing table of the present invention comprises:

- a base configured to accommodate a baby; and

- a protective barrier arranged around the base.

Said changer is characterized by the fact that the protective barrier is formed in turn by a fixed barrier and a mobile barrier, adopting said changer:

- a position of use where the mobile barrier is superimposed on the fixed barrier defining an open protective barrier around the base to facilitate changing the baby; and

- a protection position where the mobile barrier is deployed from the fixed barrier defining a closed protective barrier around the base for the protection of the baby.

The term "overlapping" also refers to the fact that the mobile barrier is arranged next to the fixed barrier, attached to it, right next to it, placed or superimposed on said fixed barrier, totally or partially covering it.

The term "position of use" refers especially to the position that allows carrying out the typical and/or usual functions of a changing table, that is, those whose purpose is to change the baby's diaper and/or clothes. For this reason, in the position of use, the protective barrier is open, facilitating greater access to the baby for the person carrying out such functions.

The term "protective position" refers especially to a safety position that the changer can adopt when the person carrying out such functions you have to turn around momentarily or move slightly, for example, to get a diaper, clothes or any other item needed to change the baby that is out of reach. It is in these situations that accidents often occur. For this reason, in the protection position, the protective barrier is closed, offering safety to the baby while the person carrying out these functions takes what they need. The deployable nature of the mobile barrier with respect to the fixed barrier allows it to go from the position of use to the protection position quickly, easily and simply, while offering safety to the baby and peace of mind to their parents and/or caregivers in the face of such situations.

Preferably, the base is formed by:

- a fixed part attached to the fixed barrier; and

- a receiving part configured to receive the mobile barrier in the protection position.

Preferably, the receiving part comprises receiving means configured to facilitate the positioning and/or fixing of the mobile barrier on said receiving part in the protection position. The purpose of such receiving means is that, once the mobile barrier is deployed, it remains well arranged and secure on the receiving part to prevent it from rising and/or moving laterally in an undesired manner. Fastening and/or fast coupling elements can be used as reception means, such as buttons, Velero®-type fastening and/or closing systems, clipping system, etc.

To ensure the correct positioning of the mobile barrier, it also has sufficient rigidity and weight to prevent it from deforming and/or moving in an unwanted way.

Preferably, the base has a collapsible character, where the receiving part is configured to fold over the fixed part. The folding and unfolding nature of the base adds to the folding and unfolding nature of the mobile barrier, thus making the changing table foldable and unfoldable when required. With this, a changing table is obtained that takes up little space when folded, thus facilitating its transport and/or storage, and can be easily stored and/or housed anywhere. The collapsible and unfoldable nature of the base can be carried out by means of hinges or joints arranged at the junction between the fixed part and the receiving part.

Alternatively, the base may have a fixed and/or permanent nature, the fixed part being integral with the receiving part.

Preferably, the base has a substantially oval, circular or elliptical shape, being especially suitable for receiving the baby.

Preferably, the base has a non-slip support surface, so that once the changing table is placed on a surface it does not slide on it.

Preferably, the changing table includes a mattress arranged on the base for the baby's comfort. The mattress can be part of the base itself, being integrated into it, or it can be an independent element separated from it.

Preferably, the mattress is foldable and unfoldable, so that it can also be stored with the rest of the changing table, once the latter is folded.

Preferably, the mattress has a separator element configured to leave a distance between the baby's head and the protective barrier. The separator element can be shaped as a protuberance around the contour and/or upper part of the base intended to receive the baby's head. Its function is, in addition to offering comfort to the baby, to create a minimum separation so that when folding the mobile barrier it does not impinge on and/or come into contact with the baby's head.

Preferably, the mobile barrier is configured to unfold from the fixed barrier by means of a folding movement when going from the use position to the protection position. This folding movement facilitates the change from the position of use to the position of protection and vice versa, since the person caring for the baby only has to lift the mobile barrier and accompany its movement with their hand until reaching the desired position. The folding and unfolding of the mobile barrier by means of this type of turning and/or turning movement of the same makes it possible to move from one position to another in an instant. Preferably, the mobile barrier is articulated to the fixed barrier according to an axis of rotation arranged parallel to the base and transversally to it, to produce the folding movement by means of a 180° rotation of the mobile barrier around said axis of rotation. The mobile barrier can be arranged both on the external part of the fixed barrier, and on the internal part of the same.

Alternatively, the folding or unfolding of the mobile barrier can be carried out in other possible ways, such as a displacement and/or lateral sliding of the mobile barrier around the fixed barrier, for example by means of a lateral rotation.

Preferably, the fixed barrier and the mobile barrier each have a substantially "II" shape.

Preferably, the open protective barrier has a substantially "U" shape.

Preferably, the closed protective barrier has a substantially oval, circular or elliptical shape.

Preferably, the protective barrier includes a soft, padded interior lining for the baby's greater safety and comfort.

Preferably, the changing table comprises one or more entertainment elements, such as play arches on which to hang toys and/or dolls, sensory elements with which the baby can interact, decorative elements that attract their attention, etc. These entertainment elements allow the baby to remain calm while being changed, thus preventing them from becoming nervous and making sudden movements that put them at risk. Therefore, these entertainment elements also constitute a reinforcement of your safety.

Preferably, the entertainment element is arranged on the outside of the fixed barrier, articulated to the same axis of rotation as the mobile barrier, in order to be able to rotate without blocking the folding movement of said mobile barrier when it is arranged on the inside of the mobile barrier. the fixed barrier. Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the changing table (1) for babies of the present invention in the use position (II).

As can be seen, the changer (1) comprises:

- a base (2) configured to accommodate a baby (B); and

- a protective barrier (3) arranged around the base (2).

The protective barrier (3) is formed in turn by a fixed barrier (31) and a mobile barrier (32), and has a soft and padded interior lining (33) for greater safety and comfort of the baby (B ).

As can be seen, in said use position (U), the mobile barrier (32) is superimposed on the fixed barrier (31) defining an open protective barrier (3U) around the base (2) to facilitate changing the baby. (B), Fig. 8a.

The mobile barrier (32) is articulated to the fixed barrier (31) according to an axis of rotation (3x) arranged parallel to the base (2) and transverse to it.

The base (2) is formed by:

- a fixed part (21) attached to the fixed barrier (31); and

- a receiving part (22) configured to receive the mobile barrier (32) in the protection position (P), Figs. 3 and 4.

According to the present example, the base (2) has a substantially oval shape, with a non-slip support surface (S). The fixed part (21) and the receiving part (22) therefore have a substantially "U" shape.

According to the present example, the fixed barrier (31) and the mobile barrier (32) each have a substantially "U" shape. Thus, the open protective barrier (3U) also has a substantially "U" shape. Figure 2 shows a plan view of the changing table (1) for babies of Fig. 1 with a mattress (4) folded on top.

The receiving part (22) comprises receiving means (220) configured to facilitate the positioning and/or fixing of the mobile barrier (32) on said receiving part (22) in the protection position (P), Figs. 3 and 4.

The base (2) comprises a set of hinges (23) arranged at the junction between the fixed part (21) and the receiving part (22) to allow the collapsible and deployable nature of said base (2).

Figures 3 and 4 respectively show a perspective view and a plan view of the changing table (1) for babies of the present invention in the protection position (P).

As can be seen, in said protection position (P), the mobile barrier (32) is deployed from the fixed barrier (31) defining a closed protective barrier (3P) around the base (2) for the protection of the baby ( B). The closed protective barrier (3P) has a substantially oval or elliptical shape.

As can be seen, in said protection position (P), the receiving part (22) receives the mobile barrier (32) in a safe and stable manner.

Figures 5 and 6 respectively show a perspective view and a plan view of the changing table (1) for babies of the present invention in the storage or transport position (T).

As can be seen, the base (2) has a folding character, where the receiving part (22) is configured to fold over the fixed part (21). The folding and unfolding nature of the base (2) is added to the folding and unfolding nature of the mobile barrier (32), thus making the changer (1) also foldable and unfoldable when required. With this, a changing table (1) is obtained that takes up little space when folded, thereby facilitating its transport and/or storage, and can be easily stored and/or housed anywhere. Figures 7a, 7b and 7c represent various perspective views of the changing table (1) for babies of the present invention, which form a sequence to show how to move from the storage or transport position (T) to the protection position (P). ).

As can be seen in Figure 7a, the changing table (1) is fully folded in the storage or transport position (T), occupying a small space for easy storage and/or transport.

As can be seen in Figure 7b, to start using the changer (1), the receiving part (22) of the base (2) is first unfolded by simply rotating it. Once this action is completed, the changing table (1) is ready in its position of use (U).

As can be seen in Figure 7c, to bring the changer (1) to the protection position (P), it is enough to simply unfold the mobile barrier (32) from the fixed barrier (31) by means of a rotating or folding movement (M). This is easily done because the mobile barrier (32) is articulated to the fixed barrier (31) according to an axis of rotation (3x) arranged parallel to the base (2) and transversally to it, to produce the folding movement (M) by means of a 180° rotation of the mobile barrier (32) around said axis of rotation (3x). Figures 8a, 8b and 8c show a sequence of the mode of operation of the changing table (1) for babies of the present invention.

As can be seen in Figure 8a, the baby (B) is accommodated in the changing table (1) in its use position (U). The person who attends to the baby (B) comfortably performs the tasks to change it, since the mobile barrier (32) is superimposed on the fixed barrier (31) defining an open protective barrier (3U) around the base (2) that facilitates access to the baby (B). As can be seen in Figure 8b, the person caring for the baby (B) realizes that he needs something that is not within his reach. Without losing sight of the baby (B), quickly unfold the mobile barrier (32) by means of a folding movement (M) that is followed by hand until the mobile barrier (32) rests safely and stably on the receiving part (22) of the base (2), using if necessary the receiving means (220) to facilitate the positioning and/or fixing of the mobile barrier (32) on said receiving part (22).

As can be seen in Figure 8c, once the baby (B) is safe and protected in the protective position (P) of the changing table (1), due to the closed protective barrier (3P) that surrounds him, the person attending the baby (B) can turn and/or move around calmly to get what they need. Subsequently, reverse the folding movement (M) of the mobile barrier (32) with the same ease and speed to fold it on the fixed barrier (31), going back to the position of use (II) of the changer (1), Fig. 8a, to complete the tasks of changing the baby (8).

Figure 9 shows a plan view of the mattress (4) of the changing table (1) for babies of the present invention.

According to the present example, the mattress (4) has a foldable and unfoldable character, so that it can also be stored with the rest of the changing table (1), once the latter is folded, that is, in the storage and transport position (T ) of the same.

The mattress (4) has a separating element (43) configured to leave a distance between the baby's head (B) and the protective barrier (3). The separator element (43) can be shaped as a protuberance on the contour and/or upper part of the base (2), for example, in the shape of a moon, intended to receive the baby's head (B). Its function is, in addition to offering comfort to the baby (B), to create a minimum separation so that when folding or lowering the mobile barrier (32), it does not affect and/or come into contact with the baby's head (B).

According to the present example, the mattress (4) is divided into two substantially symmetrical parts (41, 42) in the form of "II", which are held together by a cover that forms two separate compartments by means of a seam. The composition of the mattress (4) facilitates its folding on the fixed part (21) of the base (2).

Figures 10 and 11 show a first example of the fastening and/or anchoring means (5) that the changing table (1) for babies of the present invention can incorporate, which in this case allow it to be anchored to a piece of furniture ( O), in this case a chest of drawers.

As can be seen, according to this first example, the fastening and/or anchoring means (5) comprise a pair of anchoring elements (51) configured to anchor the changing table (1) to the furniture element (O). The anchoring elements (51) work in collaboration with reception elements (52), which in turn are located on one or both outer side faces of the fixed part (31) of the protective barrier (3). The anchoring elements (51) are removable in order to be inserted, introduced and/or housed in the reception elements (52). The anchoring elements (51) are formed by means of plates or metal pieces that define a bracket that fits in the area of junction between the horizontal surface of the furniture element (O) on which the changing table (1) rests and a vertical surface of said furniture item (O). So that the vertical part of the bracket can be trapped and/or pressed against a wall next to the furniture element (O), in order to prevent the changing table (1) from tipping over due to a sudden movement of the baby (B), Fig. . eleven.

Figures 12 and 13 show a second example of the fastening and/or anchoring means (5) that the changing table (1) for babies of the present invention can incorporate, which in this case allow it to be fastened to a piece of furniture ( O), in this case a table.

As can be seen, according to this second example, the fastening and/or anchoring means (5) comprise a belt (53) configured to fasten the changing table (1) to a piece of furniture (O), in this case around from the table, in order to prevent the changing table (1) from tipping over due to a sudden movement of the baby (B), Fig. 12.

As can be seen, the changing table (1) includes an entertainment element (6), in the form of a play arch, on which objects and/or toys can be hung to entertain the baby (B). In this way the baby (B) remains calm, without making sudden movements that could put him at risk.

The fixed barrier (31) also comprises one or more pockets (7) to be able to store diapers, clothes or other objects necessary to change the baby (B).

Claims

1- Changing table for babies, which includes:

- a base (2) configured to accommodate a baby (B); and

- a protective barrier (3) arranged around the base (2); said changer (1) characterized in that the protective barrier (3) is formed by a fixed barrier (31) and a mobile barrier (32), adopting said changer (1):

- a use position (II) where the mobile barrier (32) is superimposed on the fixed barrier (31) defining an open protective barrier (3U) around the base (2) for changing the baby (B); and

- a protection position (P) where the mobile barrier (32) is deployed from the fixed barrier (31) defining a closed protective barrier (3P) around the base (2) for the protection of the baby (B).

2- Changing table for babies according to claim 1, characterized in that the base (2) is formed by:

- a fixed part (21) attached to the fixed barrier (31); and

- a receiving part (22) configured to receive the mobile barrier (32) in the protection position (P).

3- Changing table for babies according to claim 2, characterized in that the receiving part (22) comprises receiving means (220) configured to facilitate the positioning and/or fixing of the mobile barrier (32) on said receiving part (22) in the protection position (P).

4- Changing table for babies according to any of claims 2 to 3, characterized in that the base (2) has a folding character, where the receiving part (22) is configured to fold over the fixed part (21).

5- Changing table for babies according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the base (2) has a substantially oval, circular or elliptical shape.

12- Changing table for babies according to any of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the fixed barrier (31) and the mobile barrier (32) each have a substantially "II" shape.

13- Changing table for babies according to any of claims 1 to 12, characterized in that the open protective barrier (3U) has a substantially "II" shape.

14- Changing table for babies according to any of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that the closed protective barrier (3P) has a substantially oval, circular or elliptical shape. 15- Changing table for babies according to any of claims 1 to 14, characterized in that the protective barrier (3) comprises an inner lining (33) of a soft and padded nature.

16- Changing table for babies according to any of claims 1 to 15, characterized in that it comprises fastening and/or anchoring means (5) for its fastening and/or anchoring to a piece of furniture (O).
