Description

A SEPARATION MACHINE
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a separation machine which enables to separate products such as tablet or capsule from blister packs wherein they are contained, without getting damaged by using mechanical pressure.
Background of the Invention
Products such as tablet, capsule, pill are kept within blister packs and carried in medicine boxes. Since products contained in blister packs are used a lot in environments such as hospital, medical personnel try to remove products such as tablet, capsule from their packages (unpack) in advance and then make them ready for use. Meanwhile, blister packs may get damaged during production step and it is required to remove the products contained therein and then repack. Therefore, deblistering machines that enable to remove products such as tablet, capsule collectively from blister packs are used today. However, products are removed by using different moulds for blister packs different from each other in the said machines. The said situation creates the need for different moulds for each blister pack and it also takes time to replace these moulds. For this reason, today there is need for a solution with adjustable characteristic for each blister pack without the need for moulds replacement and without creating a workload.
The United Kingdom patent document no. GB2547860B, an application in the state of the art, discloses a system for separating capsules from blisters and collecting the separated capsules. In the said invention, the deblister for separating pharmaceutical deblisters comprise a chassis that support a roller, a support shaft mechanism of deblister ring that collects blister packs of different rows. In the current invention, the deblister apparatus has a filter tray that collects the exiting blisters. The removed capsules pass through the holes located within the filter tray and they are collected therein. In one embodiment of the invention, a rotary roller is driven by a motor. The motor can be used at variable speeds and the motor revolution is changed by a PWM motor controller. In embodiments of the said invention, the rotation speed of the roller is configured according to blister packs of different types. Different rotation speeds depend on the size of blister packs, the location and distribution of the capsules contained in the blister pack, the design of the blister pack, the construction material of the blister pack, the differences of gaps located between the blister rings, the types of feeding the blister packs into the machine.
Summary of the Invention
An objective of the present invention is to realize a separation machine which enables to separate products such as tablet or capsule from blister packs wherein they are contained, without getting damaged and by using mechanical pressure by means of an adjustable disc-roller configuration without the need for a different mould.

The inventive separation machine (1) also comprises at least one cover (10) which is located on the body (2) and whereon the adjustment unit (6) is located. At least one stop button (11) used for terminating the motion of the motor (5) in case of emergency is located on the cover (10).
The inventive separation machine (1) comprises at least one direction plate (11) which is located just at the end of the roller (7) and the separator (8) on the body (2) and wherein the products removed from their blister packs are collected. The direction plate (11) directs the products collecting thereon towards a collection chamber and ensures that they are gathered.
On the body (2) included in the inventive separation machine (1), there are channels wherein the driving member (4) moves and which ensures that the blister packs are pushed to the roller (7) and the separator (8). The charger (3), the roller (7), the separator (8) and the direction plate (12) are located on the body (2), whereas the motor (5) and the driving member (4) are located therein.
In the invention, the charger (3) rises almost vertically on the body (2) and stores a plurality of blister packs therein. The driving member (4) is located in the part where the charger (3) contacts the body (2), and moves the blister packs contained in the charger (3) towards the roller (7) and the separator (8). In one preferred embodiment, the driving member (4) comprises two projections moving within two channels that extend in a position parallel to each other. In the inventive separation machine (1), the motor (5) powers the roller (7) and the separator (8) together with driving member (4) and its speed can be adjusted by an adjustment unit (6). In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the adjustment unit (6) is located on the cover (10).
The roller (7) included in the inventive separation machine (1) is present together with the separator (8) in such a way that an aperture, that allows blister packs to pass through, will remain between thereof. The roller (7) and the separator (8) are located on the body (2) in a position almost parallel to each other. The roller (7) applies mechanical pressure onto the blister packs getting between itself and the separator (8) and enables the products to be removed from their packages. The separator (8) comprises a plurality of discs (9) that can be adjusted according to the dimension of the blister packs and the positioning of the products located thereon, and that contact the apertures between the products. The roller (7) and the separator (8) performs rotational motion together, thus the discs (9) are moved by contacting the blister packs from the apertures located between the products and it is ensured that the roller (7) applies pressure to the products from top.
In the inventive separation machine (1), the separator (8) comprises a plurality of discs (9) located in a position almost parallel to each other on a shaft. Distances of the discs (9) relative to each other on the shaft can be adjusted according to the dimension of the blister packs and the positioning of the products located thereon. Thereby, the process of removing the products from their packages can be continued by changing the disc (9) settings on the basis of the dimension of the blister packs.
In the inventive separation machine (1), the blister packs whereby it is aimed to take out tablets and capsules are inserted into the charger (3) and then the operating speed is selected over the adjustment unit (6). Upon the operating speed is input over the adjustment unit (6), the driving member (4) pushes the blister packs from the charger (3) towards the roller (7) and the separator (8). The roller (7) applies mechanical pressure to the blister packs getting between the roller (7) and the separator (8), from the upper parts thereof and thereby, it is ensured that products such as tablet or capsule are removed, separated from their packages. The separated products are collected on the direction plate (12) and then gathered in a collection chamber.
With the inventive separation machine (1), tablets or capsules are separated from their blister packs easily without getting damaged and it eliminates needs such as mould replacement for blister packs in different dimensions by means of its separator (8) comprising the disc (9). Accordingly, the workload and loss of time arising from mould replacement is eliminated.
Within these basic concepts; it is possible to develop various embodiments of the inventive “Separation Machine (1)”; the invention cannot be limited to examples disclosed herein and it is essentially according to claims.
