Abstract

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Elektrolyt Membran und zugehörige Elektrolyse-Zelle beziehungsweise Elektrolyse-Stack zur Herstellung von Wasserstoff und Sauerstoff aus Wasserdampf mit Hilfe von elektrischer Energie und/oder einer zugehörigen Brennstoffzelle beziehungsweise Brennstoffzellen-Stack zur Herstellung von elektrischer Energie mit Hilfe von Wasserstoff und Sauerstoff unter Verwendung einer Redoxreaktion von in einem flüssigen Alkalicarbonatsalz gelösten lithiierten Eisenoxid - Eisen. Die Membran zur Spaltung von Wasserdampf in Wasserstoff und Sauerstoff, besteht in der erfindungsgemäßen Ausführung aus einem neuartigen lithiiertes Eisenoxid Elektrolyten der in einer flüssigen Alkalicarbonatsalz-Mischung allgemein auch Carbonatschmelze genannt, in der sich unter anderem Lithiumcarbonat befindet, gelöst ist. Der Elektrolyt und das flüssige Carbonatsalz werden in einer hitzefesten nicht leitenden Matrix beispielsweise aus Lithiumaluminat LiAIO2 und/oder einem anderen hitzebeständigen Material mit Kapillarwirkung eingebunden. Der neuartige und flüssige Elektrolyt und das flüssige Carbonatsalz wird dabei durch die Kapillarwirkung in der Matrix gehalten, so dass diese Einheit eine Membran bildet die mit einer Anodenseite und Kathodenseite und einer Verteilerstruktur für die Zuführung und Abführung der Einsatzmedien Wasserdampf, Wasserstoff und Sauerstoff für die elektrochemische Reaktion realisiert werden kann ohne, dass diese den Elektrolyten austragen.
