Description
A GUIDING DRAPE AND APPLICATION METHOD THEREOF
Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a guiding drape and application method thereof developed to be used in all kinds of interventional procedures to be performed in the presence of imaging devices by applying X-rays to tissues that cannot be seen from the outside.
In particular the present invention relates to a guiding drape and application method thereof developed to be used in biopsy, treatment and all kinds of interventional procedures to be performed with computerized tomography (CT), fluoroscopy and similar devices that perform imaging by applying X-ray to tissues that cannot be seen from the outside in the body.
State of the Art
Today, there are grid-like apparatus visible by X-ray imaging devices for biopsy, treatment and similar interventional procedures performed with said devices.
Apparatuses in the state of the art are only used for pre-processing location marking purposes. In the applications of the state of the art, the process is continued with a perforated sterile drape after marking. Other devices with sterile drapes and markers in the state of the art are not detected by X-ray imaging devices. For this reason, interventional procedures cannot be performed with these apparatuses, accompanied by X-ray imaging devices.
The application titled “Surgical drape with selectively detachable barrier” numbered EP3231389B1 has been encountered in literature. Here, a surgical drape having a thin and plastic material or translucent structure, containing various holes so that it can be configured for use in different types of procedures, consisting of an adhesive portion on the surface of the surgical drape that provides adhesion to the patient's skin and a square or
rectangular grid configuration of various sizes horizontally and vertically, providing flexibility in defining surgical site, is disclosed. However, the use in CT or similar imaging biopsy or the application of iopromide, black paint or medical silicone on the transparent surface as a line so as to ensure the visibility of the guiding part in CT, is not specifically mentioned here. In this context, it is considered that the invention that is the subject of the application contains novelty against this document.
The application titled “Skin marking porous grid and related method of use”, numbered US10143531 B2 has been encountered in literature. An image guided biopsy grid markable with marking medium is disclosed herein. Said marking medium is a grid on the patient's skin that enables the needle entry site to be determined. This adhesive grid contains multiple pores or empty spaces that allow it to flow through and onto the skin. A marking region containing radiopaque lines so as to identify a needle insertion target or to image or scan in the plane is described herein. However, the use of sterile surgical drapes and the application of iopromide, black paint and medical silicone on the transparent surface in the form of lines so as to ensure visibility in CT in the guiding part, is not specifically mentioned here. In this context, it is considered that the invention that is the subject of the application contains novelty against this document.
As a result, due to the abovementioned disadvantages and the insufficiency of the current solutions regarding the subject matter, a development is required to be made in the relevant technical field.
Brief Description of the Invention
The present invention relates to a guiding cover and application method thereof which fulfills the abovementioned requirements, eliminate all disadvantages and bring some additional advantages.
The aim of the invention is to develop a guiding drape and the application method thereof which allows grid-like apparatuses to be used for marking as well as to be usable during the whole process for biopsy, treatment and similar interventional procedures performed with X- ray imaging devices as well as making it usable during the whole procedure, thus shortening the time of the associated interventional procedures.
A similar aim of the invention is to develop a guiding drape and application method thereof,
which enables the use of sterile drapes and markers that are not visible in X-ray imaging devices, in interventional procedures.
In order to fulfill the above-described purposes, the inventive guiding apparatus comprising of; sterile drape and guide apparatus made of material that can be seen by X-ray imaging devices integrated into this sterile drape, the inventive application method comprising of the following process steps; connecting the guide apparatus with the sterile drape directly or with the help of the connection apparatus and obtaining the guiding drape, using the obtained guiding drape in interventional procedures accompanied by X-ray imaging devices.
The structural and characteristic features of the present invention will be understood clearly by the following drawings and the detailed description made with reference to these drawings and therefore the evaluation shall be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, the inventive guiding drape and application method thereof is described only for clarifying the subject matter in a manner such that no limiting effect is created.
The inventive guiding drape basically includes the sterile drape (1) and the guiding apparatus (3) made of any material that can be seen in X-ray devices to be integrated into it.
A preferred embodiment of the invention also includes at least one connection apparatus (2) that provides the connection of the guiding apparatus (3) with the sterile drape (1). The sterile drape (1) can be any type of drape with a gap in the middle, preferably in different sizes, allowing the procedures to be carried out in a sterile environment. In different preferred embodiments, the guide apparatus (3) consists of applying iopromid, black paint or medical silicone on the transparent surface in the form of a line, which will ensure visibility by X-ray imaging devices.
In the embodiment of the guiding drape of the invention, the guiding apparatus (3) is combined with the sterile drape (1) directly or with the help of the connection apparatus (2). The inventive guiding drape is obtained by integrating the guiding apparatus (3) with the sterile drape (1 ). This guiding drape obtained is used in surgical or interventional procedures accompanied by X-ray imaging devices. The guiding drape can be used in all stages of interventional procedures as it can be seen by X-ray devices and helps to shorten processing times. Furthermore, the guiding drape developed within the scope of the invention is sterile and disposable.
