Description
PILLOW ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a pillow assembly, in particular a pillow assembly for feeding a baby, comprising a first longitudinal top pillow provided with an elastic filing, preferably in a form of silicone balls, and stacked up on a second longitudinal bottom pillow, wherein the first pillow and the second pillow are connected to each other, preferably on their inner ends, by means of a connecting element.
Prior art
The prior art discloses some longitudinal cylindrical pillows for feeding in a form of a cylinder having a homogeneous elastic filling and pillow assemblies comprising two interconnected arched pillows both containing a homogeneous elastic filling. Such solutions enable wrapping them around a body of a baby feeding person twice in order to increase the height of such a pillow in the area where a baby rests. Such a double wrapping of a body with a pillow element results in an intensive heating up of a body of a baby feeding person and often results in sweating; and the thick elastic layer of the two component pillows lying one on the top of another makes it impossible to appropriately adjust the height of a baby location, makes it difficult to place a baby in a comfortable position and hold this position and a baby stably during feeding, and therefore there is a risk of a baby dropping and falling onto a hard ground. Examples of such solutions are disclosed in the patent publications US7010821 B1 or US9693638B1.
Object of the invention
It has been the object of the present invention to provide an improved pillow assembly, in particular an improved pillow assembly for feeding a baby, that provides a firm and reliable support for the babe placed on it with a possibility of adjusting the height of the position of the baby.
Summary of the invention
A pillow assembly of the kind mentioned in the outset, in particular a pillow assembly for feeding a baby, comprising a first longitudinal top pillow provided with an elastic filing, preferably in a form of silicone balls, and stacked up on a second longitudinal bottom pillow, wherein the first pillow and the second pillow are connected to each
other, preferably on their inner ends, by means of a connecting element, according to the present invention is characterised in that the second bottom pillow has a granular non-elastic filling.
The granular non-elastic filling of the second longitudinal bottom pillow of the pillow assembly according to the present invention has preferably a form of buckwheat hulls.
The connecting element of the pillow assembly according to the present invention has preferably a form of a fabric band, preferably an elastic fabric band, and/or is made of woven fabric or knitted fabric.
The second longitudinal bottom pillow preferably filled with the granular non-elastic filling with a percentage filling degree amounting from 50 to 99%.
The percentage filling degree of the second longitudinal bottom pillow with the granular non-elastic filling is the ratio of the volume of the granular non-elastic filling arranged in the second longitudinal bottom pillow to the total maximum volume of the second longitudinal bottom pillow expressed as a percentage value.
According to the present invention it is preferable that a pillowcase of the second longitudinal bottom pillow is made of an elastic fabric sheet. As a result, this second bottom pillow deforms better and it is easier to adjust its height, the pillow may be fitted more easily to the legs of the person holding a baby, what is very important in particular during feeding a baby, and provides a better support for the first longitudinal top pillow and therefore for a baby.
The first longitudinal top pillow and/or the second longitudinal bottom pillow have/has preferably an arched shape.
In such preferred embodiments of the pillow assembly according to the present invention it is additionally advantageous that:
- for the first arched longitudinal top pillow: its angular length ranges from 90 to 300°, its curvature radius ranges from 15 to 50 cm; and
- for the second arched longitudinal bottom pillow: its angular length ranges from 90 to 300°, its curvature radius ranges from 15 to 50 cm.
According to the present invention it is preferable that the first longitudinal top pillow and/or the second longitudinal bottom pillow have/has a width in a plan view ranging from 15 to 50 cm.
A length of the connecting element of the pillow assembly according to the present invention is preferably greater than 10 cm, and preferably ranges from 15 to 70 cm.
In some preferred embodiments, the pillow assembly according to the present invention additionally comprises connectors which are compatible with each other and connectable to each other in a decouplable manner, wherein the first decouplable connector is located in the area of the outer end of the first longitudinal top pillow, and the second decouplable connector is located in the area of the connecting element and/or in the area of the inner end of the first longitudinal top pillow. The use of such decouplable connectors allows the first longitudinal top pillow to be formed into a stable closed ring or a section of a ring surrounding the body of a person holding a baby.
Furthermore according to the present invention it is preferable that the first longitudinal top pillow comprises a first magnetic fastener and the second longitudinal top pillow comprises a second magnetic fastener corresponding to the first magnetic fastener and these magnetic fasteners attract each other by a magnetic force in a state of a stacking assemblage of the first longitudinal top pillow on the second longitudinal bottom pillow.
The differentiation of the fillings in the top pillow and the bottom pillow as proposed according to the present invention with the use of an elastic filling in the top pillow and a granular non-elastic filling in the bottom pillow ensures in a very advantageous manner:
- an easy adjustment of the height of the entire pillow assembly according to the present invention;
- a good fit of the pillow assembly according to the present invention to legs of a person holding a baby on it, and in particular a person who feeds a baby on the
pillow assembly, in order to obtain a good support for the entire pillow assembly and thus to improve the safety of a baby and the comfort of a person holding a baby;
- reducing a heating up of the body of a person holding a baby on the pillow assembly according to the present invention by this assembly in a case of using buckwheat husks as a granular non-elastic filling of the second bottom pillow;

Detailed description of preferred embodiments
The first embodiment of a pillow assembly 1 according to the present invention as shown in Figs. 1-6, apt for holding a baby thereon, in particular apt for feeding a baby, comprises a first longitudinal and arched top pillow 2, a second longitudinal and arched bottom pillow 3 and a connecting element 4.
The first longitudinal arched top pillow 2 is stacked up on the second longitudinal arched bottom pillow 3, wherein these pillows 2,3 are connected to each other at their inner ends 23, 33 by means of the connecting element 4 in the form of a fabric band for example made of woven fabric or knitted fabric.
The first longitudinal arched top pillow 2 comprises a pillowcase 21 in which there is arranged a homogeneous elastic filling 22 in the form of silicone balls 221 .
The second longitudinal arched bottom pillow 3 includes a pillowcase 31 in which there is arranged a granulated non-elastic filling 32 in a form of buckwheat husks 321 . The percentage filling degree of the second bottom pillow 3 with the granular non-elastic filling 32 - being the ratio of the volume of the granular non-elastic filling 32 arranged in the second bottom pillow 3 to the total maximum volume of the pillowcase 31 of the second bottom pillow 3 - preferably ranges from 50 to 99%.
The pillowcase 31 of the second bottom pillow 3 is made of a flexible fabric sheet 311 .
In this embodiment, the angular lengths a and [3 of the top pillow 2 and the bottom pillow 3 respectively, both amount 180°; wherein according to the present invention these angular lengths a and [3 are preferably in the range from 90 to 300°.
The radius of curvature R1 of the first top pillow 2 is preferably in the range from 15 to 50 cm, and the width D1 of the first top pillow 2 in a plan view is preferably in the range from 15 to 50 cm.
The radius of curvature R2 of the second bottom pillow 3 is preferably in the range from 15 to 50 cm, and the width D2 of the second bottom pillow 3 in a plan view is preferably in the range from 15 to 50 cm.
Whereas the length L of the connecting element 4 is preferably greater than 10 cm, and even more preferably is in the range from 15 to 70 cm.
The top view of the first embodiment of the pillow assembly 1 according to the present invention as shown in Fig. 4, clearly depicts that only the connecting element 4 made of a fabric sheet abuts the rear part of the body 5 of a person holding a child on the pillow assembly 1 , so that in this area there exists no intensive heating up of the body 5 of a person holding a baby, for example for the purpose of feeding a baby.
Figs. 5 and 6 illustrate the height adjustment of the first embodiment of the pillow assembly 1 according to the present invention. Due to the possibility of a stable deformation of the height of the second bottom pillow 3 with the granular non-elastic filling which rests on the thighs 6 of a person holding a baby, it is possible to vary the height of the entire pillow assembly 1 relative to the upper surface of the thighs 6 of the person holding a baby, while maintaining the stability of the support of the entire pillow assembly. As a result of the larger immersion of the thighs 6 into the second bottom pillow 3 shown in Fig. 6 with a corresponding deformation of the pillow, a reduction in the height H2 of the position of the upper surface of the first top pillow 2 is achieved relative to the height H1 of the pillow assembly 1 with the smaller immersion of the thighs 6 into the second bottom pillow 3 as shown in Fig. 5.
Figs. 7 and 8 show the second embodiment of a pillow assembly 1 according to the present invention, in which both the first and second longitudinal pillows 2, 3 are
entirely rectilinear elements 24 and 25. In addition, this second embodiment of the pillow assembly 1 comprises fasteners 71 , 72 which are compatible with each other and releasably connectable to each other. The first decouplable fastener 71 is in the form of a small fabric sheet projecting from the outer end 25 of the first longitudinal top pillow 2, and has a hole through, wherein any of the second decouplable fasteners 72 having forms of buttons sewn to the connecting element 4 and to the first longitudinal top pillow 2 in the area of its inner end 23, may be coupled in this hole. The use of decouplable fasteners 71 , 72 allows the first longitudinal top pillow 2 to be formed into a stable closed ring surrounding the body of a person holding a baby thereon.
The third embodiment of the pillow assembly 1 according to the present invention as shown in Fig. 9 is the pillow assembly of Fig. 1 , in which additionally the central arched portions of the first top pillow 2 and the second bottom pillow 3 transform on both their outer ends into rectilinear portions 24 and 34, respectively, and the connecting element 4 is in the form of an elastic fabric strip made for example of woven fabric or knitted fabric, and the pillowcase 31 of the second bottom pillow 3 is made of a non-elastic fabric sheet. This third embodiment further comprises fasteners 71 , 72 which are compatible with each other and releasably connectable to each other. The first decouplable connector 71 is a fastening element projected from the outer end 25 of the first longitudinal top pillow 2 and comprising a component strip with hooks of a hook-and-loop connection, and the second decouplable connector 72 has a form of a component strip with loops of a hook-and-loop connection which may fastened in a longitudinal manner on the connecting element 4 and in the area of the inner end 23 of the first longitudinal top pillow 2. Similarly as in the second embodiment of Figs. 7 and 8, also in this third embodiment the use of decouplable fasteners 71 , 72 enables the first longitudinal top pillow 2 to be arranged into a form of a closed, stable ring or a section of a ring surrounding the body of a person holding a baby on the pillow assembly 1 .
The fourth embodiment of a pillow assembly 1 according to the present invention shown in Fig. 10 is the pillow assembly of Fig. 1 , in which the angular lengths a and [3 of the first top pillow 2 and the second bottom pillow 3, respectively, amount approximately 240°.
The fifth embodiment of a pillow assembly 1 according to the present invention shown in Figs. 11 and 12 is the pillow assembly of Fig. 1 , in which the pillowcase 21 of the first longitudinal top pillow 2 is additionally provided with first magnetic fasteners 26 in a form of a number of radially extended magnetic strips arranged equiangularly over the bottom part of the pillowcase 21 , and the pillowcase 31 of the second longitudinal bottom pillow 3 is additionally provided with second magnetic fasteners 35 corresponding to the magnetic fasteners 26 of the first top pillow 2 and having a form of a number of radially extended magnetic strips arranged equiangularly over the top part of the pillowcase 31 . The angular positions of the first magnetic fasteners 26 of the first top pillow 2 correspond to the angular positions of the second magnetic fasteners 35 of the second bottom pillow 3. Thanks to that, when the first top pillow 2 is stacked up on the second bottom pillow 3 then the first magnetic fasteners 26 are located over the second magnetic fasteners 35 and are attracted to the second magnetic fasteners 35 by a magnetic force, and thus the position of the first top pillow 2 relative to the second bottom pillow 3 is additionally magnetically stabilized.
The sixth embodiment of a pillow assembly 1 according to the present invention shown in Figs. 13 and 14 is the pillow assembly of Fig. 11 , in which the connecting element 4 comprises two separate component connecting elements 41 and the first arched longitudinal top pillow 2 is curved relative to the connecting element 4 in the same angular direction as the second arched longitudinal top pillow 3 (and not in the opposite angular direction as in the fifth embodiments of Fig. 11) and the first magnetic strip fasteners 26 are arranged equiangularly over the top part of the pillowcase 21 of the first top pillow 2. The first top pillow 2 is stacked up on the second bottom pillow 3 in a state of its rotation of an angle amounting 180° relative to the plane of the top view of Fig. 13 and in the result of such a rotation the first magnetic fasteners 26 and the second magnetic fasteners 35 are facing each other and attracting each other by a magnetic force. Thanks to the employment of two narrower separate component connecting elements 41 forming the connecting element 4 (instead of a single one wider connecting element employed in the previous embodiments), such a pillow rotation does not result in forming any unfavorable thickening of the connecting element resulting from twisting thereof which would cause digging into the back of a person using the pillow arrangement.
With regard to the shapes of the first and second longitudinal pillows in one pillow assembly, any combination of shapes, not shown in the attached drawings, is also possible according to the present invention; for example, one of the pillows may be arched and the other may be entirely rectilinear. The above presented embodiments of the present invention are merely exemplary. The figures are not necessarily to scale and some features may be exaggerated or minimized to better illustrate the present invention. These and other factors and the presented exemplary embodiments should not be considered as limiting the spirit of the present invention, the intended scope of protection of which is indicated in appended claims.
