- 5G was first standardized as Rel-15 in 2018, and in March 2020, services compatible with 5G started in Japan. 5G is expected to be used in various services, and the communication requirements for those services are also various. Therefore, 5G adopts the concept of network slicing. Since the communication characteristics (e.g., data rate, delay, etc.) required for each service are different, the communication service provided by 5G is divided into units called network slices, and each 5G service is provided in a communication form suitable for the service. be able to.
- 5G supports low data rate communication such as IoT (Internet of Things) to high data rate communication such as high resolution video distribution.
- IoT Internet of Things
- high-data-rate communications utilization of millimeter waveband frequencies that can utilize a wide frequency band is assumed.
- the millimeter wave band has high linearity and large propagation loss, the cell coverage is smaller than that of the 700 MHz to 900 MHz frequency band called the platinum band and the 2 GHz band used after 3G. Therefore, it is not always easy to surface-deploy cells that provide high-data-rate communication, and it is thought that the deployment of cells will be spot-like. Therefore, it is desirable to introduce a mechanism that matches the opportunity of using network slices that support high data rate communication with the availability.
- the present disclosure provides a terminal device, a base station device, a management device, and a communication method that make it possible to improve opportunities for communication using network slices.
- a terminal device of the present disclosure comprises a transceiver and a processor, wherein the processor determines to use a first network slice among one or more network slices, and determines to use the first network slice. Perform a first measurement on one or more frequencies that are used, and if the result of the first measurement satisfies a threshold, send a PDU Session Establishment Request or Service Request message to the management device via the AN (Access Node) configured to transmit configuration information including first information for configuring the first measurement from the AN prior to determining to use the first network slice; be.

- the (R)AN 20 has a function of enabling connection with a RAN (Radio Access Network) and connection with an AN (Access Network) other than the RAN.
- the (R)AN 20 includes a base station device 20 called gNB or ng-eNB.
- RAN is sometimes called NG (Next Generation)-RAN.
- Information is mutually exchanged between the UE 10 and the AMF 301 via the reference point N1.

- Information is mutually exchanged between the SMF 306 and the UPF 330 via the reference point N4.
- the 5G QoS model supports GBR (Guaranteed flow Bit Rate) QoS flows and non-GBR QoS flows.
- a GBR QoS flow corresponds to a bandwidth-guaranteed QoS flow
- a non-GBR QoS flow corresponds to a non-bandwidth-guaranteed QoS flow.
- NAS Non-Access Stratum
- QoS flows are encapsulated on the NG-U interface.
- a QoS flow is identified within a PDU session by a QFI (QoS Flow ID) carried as a header.
- the (R)AN 20 can establish at least one radio bearer, DRB (Data Radio Bearer), along with a PDU session, and can establish additional DRBs.
- DRB Data Radio Bearer
- a DRB is a logical path for transmitting data.
- (R)AN 20 and core network 30 ensure quality of service by allocating packets to QoS and DRB suitable for the service. That is, two steps are performed: IP flow and QoS flow mapping in NAS (Non-Access Stratum) and QoS flow and DRB mapping in AS (Access Stratum).
- the QoS flow consists of a QoS profile (QoS profile(s)) provided from the core network 30 to the (R) AN 20 and a QoS rule (QoS rule(s)).
- the QoS profile is used by the (R)AN 20 to determine how to operate on the air interface.
- QoS rules are used to instruct the UE 10 on the mapping between uplink user-plane traffic and QoS.
- the QoS profile is provided to (R)AN20 by SMF306 via AMF301 via reference point N2, or is set in (R)AN20 in advance.
- the SMF 306 may provide one or more QoS rules via the AMF 301 and optionally QoS flow-level QoS parameters associated with these QoS rules to the UE 10 via the reference point N1. . Additionally or alternatively, the UE 10 may apply Reflective QoS control.
- Reflective QoS control is QoS control that monitors the QFI(s) of downlink packets and applies the same mapping to the uplink.
- a QoS flow can be either GBR (guaranteed bandwidth) or non-GBR (non-guaranteed bandwidth) flow type, depending on the QoS profile.
- the QoS profile of the QoS flow includes parameters such as 5QI (5G QoS Identifier) and ARP (Allocation and Retention Priority).
- ARP contains information on priority level, pre-emption capability, and pre-emption vulnerability.
- the ARP priority level defines the relative importance of QoS flows, and is set in the range of 1 to 15, with 1 being the highest priority.
- ARP pre-emption capability is an indicator that defines whether a QoS flow can use resources already allocated to other QoS flows with lower priority.
- ARP's pre-emption vulnerability is a metric that defines whether or not resources allocated to a QoS flow are yielded to other higher priority QoS flows.
- ARP pre-emption capability and ARP pre-emption vulnerability must be set to either "enabled” or "disabled”.
- the QoS profile is GFBR (Guaranteed Flow Bit Rate) for uplink and downlink, MFBG (Maximum Flow Bit Rate) for uplink and downlink, maximum packet for uplink and downlink Includes Maximum Packet Loss Rate, Delay Critical Resource Type, Notification Control, etc.
- the QoS profile includes RQA (Reflective QoS Attribute), additional QoS flow information (Additional QoS Flow Information), and the like.
- the QoS parameter Notification Control indicates whether notification from the (R)AN 20 is requested when the GFBR cannot be satisfied for the QoS flow. For a certain GBR QoS flow, if Notification Control is "enable" and (R) AN 20 determines that GFBR cannot be satisfied, (R) AN 20 must send a notification to SMF 306. not. At that time, unless (R)AN 20 is in a special state that requests release of RAN resources for this GBR QoS flow, such as Radio Link Failure or RAN internal congestion, (R ) AN 20 must maintain QoS flows. If (R)AN 20 determines that it can meet the GFBR again, (R)AN 20 sends a new notification to SMF 306 to that effect.
- AMBR Average Maximum Bit Rate
- Session-AMBR limits the aggregate bit rate expected to be delivered across all non-GBR QoS flows for a particular PDU session and is managed by the User Plane Function (UPF).
- UPF User Plane Function
- UE-AMBR limits the aggregate bit rate expected to be offered across all non-GBR QoS flows for a given UE 10 and is managed by (R)AN 20 .
- 5QI relates to QoS features and provides guidelines (policies) for setting node-specific parameters for each QoS flow.
- Standardized or preconfigured 5G QoS features are known from 5QI and are not signaled explicitly.
- the QoS characteristics that are signaled can be included as part of the QoS profile.
- QoS features include Priority level, Packet Delay Budget, Packet Error Rate, Averaging window, Maximum Data Burst Volume, etc. Consists of elements.
- the packet delay tolerance may include the packet delay tolerance in the core network 30 .
- the DRB Radio Bearer
- the (R)AN 20 assigns (maps) QoS flows to DRBs based on the QoS profile associated with the QFI (QoS Flow ID). Different DRBs can be established for packets requiring different packet forwarding treatment. Alternatively, multiple QoS flows belonging to the same PDU session can be multiplexed into the same DRB.
- mapping rules In the uplink, the mapping of QoS flows to DRBs is controlled by mapping rules that are signaled in two different ways.
- One is called Reflective mapping, in which for each DRB, the UE 10 monitors the QFI(s) of downlink packets and applies the same mapping on the uplink.
- Another method is a method called Explicit Configuration, in which rules for mapping QoS flows to DRBs are explicitly signaled by RRC (Radio Resource Control).
- RRC Radio Resource Control
- QFI QoS Flow ID
- RQoS Reflective Quality of Service
- NAS Non-Access Stratum
- Reflective mapping is used for the QoS flows carried by a DRB, the QFI for that DRB is not signaled on the Uu interface.
- the (R)AN 20 may configure signaling QFI over the Uu interface to the UE 10 .
- 5G NR introduces a new SDAP (Service Data Adaptation Protocol) sublayer for QoS control via QoS flows.
- the SDAP sublayer maps QoS flow traffic to the appropriate DRBs.
- the SDAP sublayer can have multiple SDAP entities, one SDAP entity per PDU session on the Uu interface.
- An SDAP entity is established or released by RRC (Radio Resource Control).
- a QoS flow is identified using the QFI in the PDU Session Container included in the GTP-U header.
- a PDU session is identified using a GTP-UTEID (Tunnel Endpoint Identifier).
- the SDAP sublayer maps each QoS flow to a specific DRB.
- a network slice is a service unit that divides the communication services provided by 5G according to the communication characteristics (for example, data rate, delay, etc.) required for each service. .
- Each network slice is assigned an S-NSSAI as information for assisting network slice selection (network slice selection assistance information).
- This S-NSSAI is a mandatory SST (Slice/Service Type) consisting of 8 bits that identifies the slice type, and 24 bits for distinguishing different slices within the same SST. It consists of a pair with an optional SD (Slice Differentiator) consisting of

- the serving PLMN (Serving Public Land Mobile Network) can set the Configured NSSAI applied to each PLMN to the UE.
- the HPLMN (Home PLMN) can set the Default Configured NSSAI to the UE. Only when the Configured NSSAI for the serving PLMN is not set in the UE 10, the UE 10 under the serving PLMN can use the Default Configured NSSAI. Note that the UE 10 may have the Default Configured NSSAI set in advance. Also, using UE Parameters Update via the UDM Control Plane process, the HPLMN's UDM 307 may provide or update the Default Configured NSSAI.
- a Configured NSSAI consists of one or more S-NSSAI(s).
- the Requested NSSAI is the NSSAI provided by the UE 10 to the serving PLMN during the registration process.
- the Requested NSSAI MUST be one of the following: ⁇ Default Configured NSSAI ⁇ Configured-NSSAI ⁇ Allowed-NSSAI or part thereof ⁇ NSSAI obtained by adding one or more S-NSSAIs included in Configured-NSSAI to Allowed-NSSAI or part thereof
- Allowed-NSSAI is, for example, an NSSAI that the serving PLMN provides to the UE 10 during the registration process, and one or more S-NSSAI(s) values available within the current registration area of the current serving PLMN. is shown.
- a Subscribed S-NSSAI is an S-NSSAI that the UE 10 can use within the PLMN according to the subscription information.

- each capacity boost cell constitutes a base station that provides basic coverage cells (gNB20-11, gNB20-12, gNB20-13) It may be configured with a CU (Central Unit) that That is, each capacity boost cell is composed of DUs (Distributed Units) among the components of the base station. CU and DU are connected by an F1 interface. Also, each capacity boost cell may be configured with CUs and DUs that make up the base station that provides the basic coverage cell. That is, each capacity boost cell is composed of RUs (Radio Units) among the components of the base station. DUs and RUs are connected via a fronthaul.
- the fronthaul is, for example, a fronthaul compliant with eCPRI (evolved Common Public Radio Interface).
- the UE 10 performs initial registration with 5GS, Mobility Registration Update accompanying a change in tracking area (TA: Tracking Area), periodic registration update, emergency According to any purpose of registration at the time, it is necessary to register with a network (such as RAN, AN or core network).
- the UE 10 selects, for example, a PLMN corresponding to the 5GC/NGC 30 and performs registration processing.
- FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an example of a registration procedure.
- the UE 10 in the RM-DEREGISTERED state that is, in the state of not being registered with the 5GC/NGC 30, sends a Registration Request message to the RAN/AN 20 to perform initial registration. (step S401).
- the UE 10 transmits a registration request message including the UE identity.
- the UE identity is the 5G-GUTI mapped from the EPS GUTI if it has a valid EPS GUTI (Global Unique Temporary Identifier).
- EPS Evolved Packet System
- EUTRAN Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network
- EPC Evolved Packet Core
- the EPS GUTI is a temporary used to identify the UE 10 within the EPS instead of an ID uniquely assigned to each UE such as IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) or IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity). is a valid ID.
- the UE identity is the PLMN-specific 5G-GUTI assigned by the PLMN with which the UE 10 is trying to register, if available.
- the UE identity is the PLMN-specific 5G-GUTI assigned by the PLMM treated as the equivalent PLMN for the PLMN the UE 10 is trying to register with, if available.
- the UE identity is a PLMN-specific 5G-GUTI assigned by any PLMN, if available.
- the UE 10 includes SUCI (Subscription Concealed Identifier) in the registration request message.
- SUCI is an ID obtained by encrypting SUPI (Subscription Permanent Identifier), which is an ID uniquely assigned to each UE 10 .
- the UE 10 When the UE 10 registers with 5GS of any PLMN, if it has a Configured NSSAI or an Allowed NSSAI for this PLMN, it must provide the above-mentioned Requested NSSAI to the network. Thus, the UE 10 either includes the Requested NSSAI in the Registration Request message or includes a mapping between each S-NSSAI of the Requested NSSAI and the HPLMN's S-NSSAIs in the Registration Request message. This allows the network side to check whether the S-NSSAI(s) included in the Requested NSSAI can be permitted based on the Subscribed S-NSSAIs. Also, if the UE 10 uses the Default Configured NSSAI, the UE 10 includes the Default Configured NSSAI Indication in the registration request message.
- RAN/AN 20 Upon receiving the registration request message from UE 10, RAN/AN 20 executes AMF Selection (step S402). RAN / AN 20, if the registration request message does not include 5G-S-TMSI (5G S-Temporary Mobile Subscription Identifier) or GUAMI (Globally Unique AMF Identifier), (R) AT (Radio Access Technology), and if available, select AMF 301 based on Requested NSSAI. Alternatively, the RAN/AN 20, if the 5G-S-TMSI or GUAMI included in the registration request message does not indicate a valid AMF 301, (R) AT (Radio Access Technology) and use If possible, select AMF301 based on the Requested NSSAI.

- RAN / AN 20 is NG-RAN
- NID Network Identifier
- the received registration request is transferred to the AMF 209 (step S403).
- the AMF 301 activates Identity Request processing, transmits an Identity Request message to the UE 10, and requests the SUCI (step S404).
- the UE 10 When the UE 10 receives the Identity Request message in step S404, it transmits an Identity Response message containing SUCI (step S405).
- the UE 10 can obtain the SUCI using the HPLMN's Public Key.
- the AMF 301 executes AUSF Selection based on SUPI or SUCI (step S406) and activates UE 10 authentication.
- the AUSF 309 When the AUSF 309 receives a request for authentication from the AMF 301, it has to authenticate the UE 10. The AUSF 309 selects the UDM 307 and acquires authentication data from the UDM 307 as authentication processing. Once the UE 10 is authenticated, the AUSF 309 provides information regarding security to the AMF 301 . When the UE 10 is successfully authenticated, the AMF 301 activates NGAP (NG Application Protocol) processing and provides security context to the RAN/AN 23 . RAN/AN 20 holds the security context and transmits a response to AMF 301 . RAN/AN 20 uses this security context to protect messages exchanged with UE 10 thereafter.
- NGAP NG Application Protocol
- the AMF 301 executes UDM Selection based on the SUPI and selects the UDM 307 (step S407).
- the AMF 301 is registered with the UDM 307 using Nudm_UECM_Registration (step S408).
- step S409 If the AMF 301 does not have the subscriber information (Subscription Data) of the UE 10, use Nudm_SDM_Get (step S409) to transfer Subscription Data such as Access and Mobility Subscription data, SMF Selection Subscription data, etc. to UDM 307 (step S410 ).
- Subscription Data such as Access and Mobility Subscription data, SMF Selection Subscription data, etc.
- Access and Mobility Subscription data After obtaining the Access and Mobility Subscription data from the UDM 307, the AMF 301 generates a UE context.

- step S538 similar to the process of FIG. 4B, since the UE 10 does not know when it will be in the coverage of the gNB 20-32, the network may start the eMBB_3 service using the PDU session via the gNB 20-11. unknown.
- the gNB 20-11 can provide sufficient throughput for the service of eMBB_1, but cannot necessarily provide sufficient throughput for the service of eMBB_3, so it may receive service in a poor quality situation.
- the AMF 301 may not start using the service of eMBB_3 until the PDU session change process including gNBs 20-32 is completed. In other words, there is a possibility that the user will be kept waiting for a long time until the service starts.

・Default Configured NSSAI
さもなければ、UE10は、登録要求メッセージにSUCI(Subscription Concealed Identifier)を含める。ここで、SUCIは、各UE10に固有に割り当てられるIDであるSUPI(Subscription Permanent Identifier)を暗号化したIDである。
UE10の認証に成功すると、AMF301は、NGAP(NG Application Protocol)処理を起動して、RAN/AN23にsecurity contextを提供する。
UE10のNAS(Non-Access Stratum)レイヤは、selected PLMNとequivalent PLMN(s)を特定する。
制御部13は、例えば、CPU(Central Processing Unit)、MPU(Micro-Processing Unit)、GPU(Graphics Processing Unit)等のプロセッサ(ハードウェアプロセッサ)により構成される。 ここで言うプロセッサは、ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit)やFPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array)等の集積回路を含み得る。
Default Configured NSSAI
制御部24は、例えば、CPU(Central Processing Unit)、MPU(Micro-Processing Unit)、GPU(Graphics Processing Unit)等のプロセッサ(ハードウェアプロセッサ)により構成される。 ここで言うプロセッサは、ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit)やFPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array)等の集積回路を含み得る。
制御部32は、例えば、CPU(Central Processing Unit)、MPU(Micro-Processing Unit)、GPU(Graphics Processing Unit)等のプロセッサ(ハードウェアプロセッサ)により構成される。 ここで言うプロセッサは、ASIC(Application Specific Integrated Circuit)やFPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array)等の集積回路を含み得る。
