Description

WELL ADAPTER
Field of the Invention
The invention relates to underground water supplies, in particular, to groundwater well facilities to connect various water supply equipment: an electric pump; lock valves, gate valves, metering devices, ball valves etc. The well adapter (hereinafter referred to as the "WA") is designed to connect a domestic water supply system to an electric pump of a groundwater well. The WA facilitates the lead-in of pumping mains, enabling the lead-in of an electric cable into the well, quick and convenient connection of the pump to the domestic water supply main. The growing need for domestic water supply systems, in particular, from groundwater wells, and the production output of the relevant equipment require to expand the range and improve technical means intended to achieve this purpose.
Prior Art
A well adapter for pipeline is known, in which the packing seal has split case and pressure flange design. The seal case is loosely placed in the pipe hole and attached to the wall of the box by means of a leak-tight flange. A through pipe sleeve is mounted to sink monitoring sensors into the well. (RU 2371550).
A well adapter to pump water from a well is known. It is a device in which water from a well is fed by means of a pump through the pipe inlet opening to a hydraulic accumulator that is intended to extract water for subsequent water discharge in a pressure water supply system. The water is fed to a house etc., passing through a water purification filter and to the pipe outlet opening. The water pressure in the system is controlled by a pressure switch: when the water pressure decreases to a pre-set level, the pressure switch is activated and turns on the pump in the well, which fills the system with water to a pre-set mark and turns off. The increase and decrease of water pressure is controlled by means of the pressure switch. A male thread is provided for in the bottom part of the device for a tap (RU 147882, a prototype.)
Summary of the Invention
The technical problem which is addressed by this technical solution lies in extending the range and enhancing the efficiency of technical means which provide wellwater supply, namely, well adapters.
The technical result achieved through the use of the claimed technical solution is to create an alternative well adapter design, enabling the well-water supply without having to install a caisson, and showing high reliability and durability since it prevents any water supply disruptions and makes it possible to check visually the relative position accuracy of main components.
The essence of the invention is that the well adapter comprises a swivel fitting for inlet and outlet of water from a well, a backup washer and a stop nut, as well as a mounting bracket; wherein the swivel fitting has an inlet branch pipe to connect to the electric pump of the well with a pipe, and an outlet branch pipe to connect to the consumer's supply pipe; wherein the swivel fitting is mounted in the mounting bracket, which is essentially a support panel, being integral with a sleeve having a through-hole, which goes through the support panel with the formation of the first and the second sections of the sleeve protruding from both sides of the support panel made in the form of a segment of the cylinder wall with a shaped contour along the perimeter formed by two extreme and intermediate portions of the support panel; wherein a structure is arranged on the concave side of one of the extreme portions of the support panel; the structure is made of inclined stiffeners, which are arranged along the circumference and converge to the connection with the end of the sleeve, which has the first section with a thread, protruding on the structure location side, in which a swivel fitting is mounted; and the second section protruding on the opposite side of the support panel is made in such a way that an outlet branch pipe of the fitting can be connected to the consumer's supply pipe through the through-hole of the sleeve and to a thread on which the backup washer and the stop nut are placed in sequence.
The shaped contour of the support panel is preferably symmetrical, with an extended circular-shaped portion at the edge of the structure location, with an intermediate longitudinal rectangular section and with a transverse rectangular section at the other edge connected with each other by one elongated stiffener of the structure.
The structure is preferably formed by five inclined stiffeners evenly spaced along the circumference around the sleeve, each of which has twin-design, being made of two parallel identical plates.
Preferably, the swivel fitting comprises a slide with an inlet branch pipe and a side flange, and a base plate with an outlet branch pipe and an end flange, which are mating and form a swinging hermetic pipeline of the swivel fitting, which comprises bores of the above branch pipes connected by openings of their flanges; wherein the inlet branch pipe is made with two holes at its ends sealed off from each other, one of which is made in such a way that the rising pipe is connected to the electric motor; the outlet branch pipe is made in such a way that it is connected to the consumer's supply pipe through the sleeve through-hole; the side flange of the slide has two parallel longitudinal tongues; wherein the end flange of the base plate has two parallel longitudinal grooves to form a dovetail joint with the above tongues on the side flange of the slide,
Preferably, the circular-shaped end of the connecting sleeve is wide enough to restrict movements of the swivel fitting within the thread of the bracket sleeve.

The panel 26 is designed as a thin-walled segment of the hollow cylinder wall with a symmetric shaped contour along the perimeter formed by two mating extreme and intermediate portions 29,30,31 of the support panel 26, respectively.
On one extreme portion 29 of the support panel 26, on its concave side, a supporting structure of the sleeve 27 fastener is arranged, which consists of inclined stiffeners 32,33,34,35,36 that are radially arranged along the circumference and converge upwards (in the direction from the support panel) to the connection with the circular-shaped end of the sleeve 27.
On the side of the structure consisting of stiffeners 32,33,34,35,36 (on the concave side of the support panel) the first protruding section of the sleeve 27 with female thread is located, in which the swivel fitting 8,9 is mounted; and the second protruding section on the opposite side of the support panel 26 (on the convex side of the support panel 26) is made in such a way that the outlet branch pipe of the fitting base plate 8 is connected to the consumer's supply pipe 25 through the through-hole 28 of the sleeve 27 and to the male thread on which the backup washer 2 and the stop nut 3 are placed in sequence.
The shaped contour of the support panel 26 is vertically elongated and symmetrical with respect to the vertical axis according to Fig. 1 , it has an extended circular-shaped portion 29 at the edge, where the structure is positioned and the sleeve 27 goes through the support panel 26, and an intermediate longitudinal rectangular (in plan) section 30 and a transverse rectangular (in plan) section 31 at the other edge so that the elongated stiffener 35 of the support panel 26 provides connection and transfer of the compressive stress, as well as stiffness, i.e. it serves as a bracing bar for the bracket 1.
The bracket 1 structure is formed by five inclined stiffeners 32,33,34,35,36, evenly spaced along the circumference around the sleeve, each of which has twin-design, being made of two parallel identical plates, which are integral with the support panel and the sleeve, i.e. edges of each plate are attached to the support panel and the sleeve. The structure has the form of a slotted frustum of pyramid.
The extreme extended and transverse portions 29, 31 of the support panel have support points (the lower support point 38 is a “footpad” of the support panel) on the convex side of the support panel 26; the above footpad aims to prevent the panel from any distortion which may be caused by random (incorrect) load distribution. The transverse portion 31 of the support panel 26 on its convex side is hollow, with an internal stiffener 37, crossing the elongated stiffener 35 of the structure.
On the convex side of the support panel 26, opposite to the side where the structure 1 is located, an annular groove is provided wherein a resilient seal 5 is placed.
The swivel fitting (or, that is the same, the "well adapter") comprises a slide 9 with an inlet branch pipe and a side flange; and a base plate 8 with an outlet branch pipe and an end flange, which are mating and form a swinging hermetic pipeline of the swivel fitting, which comprises bores of the above branch pipes connected by openings of their flanges; wherein the inlet branch pipe is made with two holes at its ends sealed off from each other, one of which is made in such a way that the rising pipe 23 is connected to the electric motor 24; the outlet branch pipe is made in such a way that it is connected to the consumer's supply pipe 25 through the sleeve 27 through-hole 28 of the bracket 1 ; and the side flange of the slide 9 has two parallel longitudinal tongues; wherein the end flange of the base plate 8 has two parallel longitudinal grooves to form a dovetail joint with the above tongues on the side flange of the slide 9. The circular-shaped end of the connecting sleeve 27 has a pad to restrict movements of the swivel fitting base plate 8 on the thread inwards the sleeve 27.
The slide 9 and the base plate 8 of the swivel fitting are made of brass, and other parts, including the bracket 1 and the backup washer 3 are made of plastic (i.e. of polymeric material).
The integrated compression fitting 8,9 of the bracket 1 comprises the base plate 8 to mount the quick-detachable slide 9, to which the supply pipe 23 of the electric pump 24 is connected. The base plate 8 is completed with a seal ring 10 to ensure a leak-tight connection with the bracket 1 , the slide 9 is completed with a seal ring 11 to ensure a leak- tight connection with a base plate 8. Female threads are provided on the slide 9. The lower thread for connection of the supply pipe 23 going from the electric pump 24, and the upper thread is intended for a process pipeline to mount the slide 9.
To ensure the operation of the electric pump 24, an assembly to supply electric power (a cable) to the electric pump 24 through a special bracket 12 and a hermetic connector 19 with an electric cable 47 can be used. The bracket 12 is completed with a seal 18 and it is completed with a nut 14 and a washer 13 on the outer side of the concrete ring 22. An integrated compression connector of the bracket 12 for an electric power supply cable is designed in such a way to connect a tube with a diameter of 20 mm for the cable, and consists of a nut 15, a collet 20, a locking ring 17, and a seal ring 16. On the inner side of the well ring 22, the bracket 12 has a hermetic connector 19 for the electric cable 47 with an outer diameter of its sheath of 6 mm to 12 mm.
Wherein the hermetic connector 19 is mounted in a special bracket 12, which may be designed as a curved location panel 39 and a connecting sleeve 40 having a stepped through-hole 41, which geometric axis goes through the panel 39 (perpendicular to the panel 39) designed as a thin- walled segment of the hollow cylinder wall with a circular contour along the perimeter, on which a structure is located, consisting of identical inclined stiffeners 42,43,44,45,46, which are arranged along the circumference and converge upwards (in the direction from the panel 39 surface) to the connection with the circular-shaped end of the connecting sleeve 40, in which the hermetic connector 19 is mounted. The stiffeners 42,43,44,45,46, each of them, have twin-design, being made of two parallel identical plates. Detailed Description of the Invention Preferred embodiment
The well adapter (WA) is operated as follows.
A bracket 1 for entering the discharge line and a bracket 12 for entering an electric cable with the seal rings 5 and 18 are mounted inside the concrete ring 22 through radial holes. The washers 2, 13 are placed and fastened with nuts 3, 14 from outside.
The size of a hole in the concrete ring 22 for the bracket (1) should be 55-60 mm; for the bracket (12) - 40-45 mm.
The following operations are performed when mounting in a well.
Operation 1
A hole is made in the concrete ring 22: for the bracket (1) it should be 55-60 mm; for the bracket (12) - 40-45 mm.
Operation 2
Brackets 1 and 12 are mounted in the prepared holes with seal rings 5 and 18 placed between the brackets and the concrete ring 22 wall. They are fastened from outside with nuts 3 and 14 through washers 2 and 13 (Fig. 2,5).
Operation 3
The pipe 23 (water-supply pipeline) is attached to the bracket 1. The cable 47 is led through the hermetic connector 19 in the bracket 12.
Operation 4
The pipe 23 going from the electric pump 24 is connected with the slide 9. A safety rope is attached to the electric pump 24 (Fig. 5).
Operation 5
The electric pump is mounted on the bracket 1 ; the availability of a seal ring 11 on the slide 9 should be checked before. A safety rope is attached on the top of the well; its free sagging should be ensured so that the weight of the pump is borne only by the pipe (Fig.5).
Fig. 5 shows a well adapter mounted in a well.
The adapter is ready for operation.
When the liquid is fed by the submersible electric pump 24, it is supplied to the consumer through the pipes 23, 25, the fitting 8,9 and the sleeve 27 through-hole 28 without a caisson. Therein, the fitting 8,9 placed in the space of the water-extraction channel below the soil freezing level prevents icing in wintertime. The adapter design provides unimpeded access to the vertical wall of the concrete ring 22 of the well and to the submersible electric pump 24 with an electric drive installed therein, without removing the well head (cover). If necessary, flanges of the slide 9 and the base plate 8 of the fitting in the dovetail joint are detached simply by lifting the slide 9 of the pipe 23 with the electric pump 24 upwards.
Since the soil does not freeze at such depths, there is no need to apply a heatinsulating layer on the pipes 23,25 or to provide an electric heating.
The design of the WA provides both convenient initial immersion of the pump into a well, and subsequent operations of extracting and immersing the pump.
The well adapter design provides unimpeded access to the vertical well bore and to the electric pump 24 (with an electric drive) installed therein.
Thus, the embodiment of the invention claimed will result in making an alternative unique well adapter and the possibility of arranging the low-cost small-scale production.
The well adapter has small dimensions, features increased reliability and durability, as it prevents corrosion of the mounting washer and makes it possible to monitor the relative position accuracy of main components.
The plastic bracket 1 on the transverse (outlet branch pipe) with resilient seals contributes to the security of the electric pump 24 attachment.
The elongated stiffener 35 of the support panel 26, and the supporting structure on it provide connection and compressive stress transfer, as well as stiffness, wherein the stiffener 35 serves as a bracing bar for the bracket 1 , which is particularly aimed at disabling of short pulses of surging shocks and pressure fluctuations by giving a spherical shape to the surge front surface, and consequently by reducing the density of the shock-wave energy and pressure fluctuation wave along its propagation path.
At the same time, it ensures an increase in labour productivity during the mounting of the well adapter, optimizes its operation (reduction of labour intensity involved in the mounting process control, cost and time saving for mounting of the adapter); eliminates any zones with abnormally high mechanical stresses on the liquid pumping element, responsible for density of mechanical stress distribution, structural strength and leaktightness.
Industrial applicability
The present invention is embodied with multipurpose equipment extensively employed by the industry.

Claims
1. A well adapter, which comprises a swivel fitting for inlet and outlet of water from a well, a backup washer and a stop nut, as well as a mounting bracket; wherein the swivel fitting has an inlet branch pipe to connect to the electric pump of the well with a pipe, and an outlet branch pipe to connect to the consumer's supply pipe; wherein the swivel fitting is mounted in the mounting bracket, which is essentially a support panel, being integral with a sleeve having a through-hole, which goes through the support panel with the formation of the first and the second sections of the sleeve protruding from both sides of the support panel made in the form of a segment of the cylinder wall with a shaped contour along the perimeter formed by two extreme and intermediate portions of the support panel; wherein a structure is arranged on the concave side of one of the extreme portions of the support panel; the structure is formed by inclined stiffeners, which converge to the connection with the end of the sleeve, which has the first section with a thread, protruding on the structure location side, in which a swivel fitting is mounted; and the second section protruding on the opposite side of the support panel is made in such a way that an outlet branch pipe of the fitting can be connected to the consumer's supply pipe through the through-hole of the sleeve and to a thread on which the backup washer and the stop nut are placed in sequence.

The well adapter according to Claim 1, characterized in that subjects, that the shaped contour of the support panel is preferably symmetrical, with an extended circularshaped portion at the edge of the structure location, with an intermediate longitudinal rectangular section and with a transverse rectangular section at the other edge connected with each other by one elongated stiffener of the structure.

The well adapter according to Claim 1, characterized in that subjects, that the structure is formed by five inclined stiffeners, evenly spaced along the circumference around the sleeve, each of which has twin-design, being made of two parallel identical plates, which are integral with the support panel and the sleeve.

The well adapter according to any of Claims 1-3, characterized in that subjects, that the swivel fitting comprises a slide with an inlet branch pipe and a side flange, and a base plate with an outlet branch pipe and an end flange, which are mating and form a swinging hermetic pipeline of the swivel fitting, which comprises bores of the above branch pipes connected by openings of their flanges; wherein the inlet branch pipe is made with two holes at its ends sealed off from each other, one of which is made in such a way that the rising pipe is connected to the electric motor; the outlet branch pipe is made in such a way 9 that it is connected to the consumer's supply pipe through the sleeve through-hole; the side flange of the slide has two parallel longitudinal tongues; wherein the end flange of the base plate has two parallel longitudinal grooves to form a dovetail joint with the above tongues on the side flange of the slide,
5. The well adapter according to Claim 4, characterized in that subjects, that circularshaped end of the connecting sleeve is wide enough to restrict movements of the swivel fitting within the thread of the bracket sleeve.
