Description

A DENTAL RUBBER DAM CLAMP
TECHNICAL FIELD
[01] The present disclosure relates to dental tools and instruments, and more particularly to a dental rubber dam clamp having a matrix band.
BACKGROUND
[02] Tooth isolation is mandatory for successful functional restoration and successful root canal treatment. Tooth build up prior to root canal treatment is considered important to guarantee success. However, it is time consuming and less cost effective. Matrix band is a cylindrical metal or plastic band with a special clamp or holder (the matrix retainer); it is seated over a tooth so that the restorative material can flow into the prepared cavity. It is also used for placement and contouring of certain restorative materials.
[03] Rubber dam is a sheet of thin latex rubber used by dentists to isolate a tooth or teeth from the fluids of the mouth during dental treatment, held in place by a clamp and frame.
[04] Using the conventional matrix bands and rubber dams during endodontic operations would require the patient to visit the dentists’ multiple times given the nature of these matrices and dam. Thus, providing a tool that achieves tooth isolation and as well as acting as a matrix band will help to restore tooth effectively and efficiently in one visit to the dentist would definitely reduce time and cost with more predictable results.
SUMMARY
[05] It is an object of the present disclosure to provide a dental rubber dam clamp with a built-in matrix band, thus saving the time and effort of a dentist to replace tools during an endodontic operation.

[07] In some aspects, the bracket may have elastic properties that allow for elastic deformation.
[08] In some aspects, the plurality of gripping holes may be configured to receive tips of a clamp holder for applying and removing said dental rubber dam clamp.
[09] In yet some aspects, the first end and the second end of the overlapping band may be in proximity to the buccal portion.
[010] In some aspects of the present disclosure, a thickness of the overlapping band may gradually increase from the lower portion to the lower portion.
[Oil] In some aspects, the overlapping band may be tapered from the upper potion to the lower portion.
[012] In some aspects of the present disclosure, a ratio of thickness of the buccal portion to the mesial portion may be at least about 1.13:1.
[013] In some aspects, a ratio of thickness of the lingual portion to the mesial portion may be at least about 1.13:1.
[014] In some aspects, the overlapping band may have elastic deformation properties.
[015] In some aspects, the bracket may be made of nickel titanium alloy, stainless steel, or a combination thereof.
[016] In yet some aspects, the overlapping band may be made of nickel titanium alloy, stainless steel, or a combination thereof. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
