Definitions
- the present invention in general, relates to the field of sports training equipment. More closely, it relates to the field of skates, skis and rollerblades, and specifically refers to the classic roller-ski.
- the technical problem solved by the present invention is how to soften the impact caused by the immediate blockage of the one-way bearing for moving backwards of the classic roller-ski during the kick.
- the sudden stopping of the wheel turning backwards, and therefore sudden stopping of moving the roller-ski backwards produces shocks that destroy the athlete's knee as the most burdened joint, and it also makes a drastically different feeling of driving than on snow, where these stoppings are soft and progressive with slipping a few inches back to the final stop, without the effect of impact and provocation of the athlete's knee injury.
- the classic roller-ski technique is practically a walking technique with alternating pushing on the roller-ski as support, whose backward movement is prevented by the one-way bearing blockade.
- the alternating block of turning the wheel is reflected as an impact on the most burdened leg joint, the knee.
- countless such "impacts" to the knee lead to serious destruction of the knee, which is counterproductive to the idea of playing sports in general.
- roller-ski uses one-way bearings on the back or front wheels to turn the wheels around a fixed axle forward or to block the rotation of these wheels when pushing the roller-ski backwards, which is a constant movement while driving.
- the roller-ski serves as a support for pushing the other roller-ski forward with alternating repetitions. This is achieved by constructing a fixed connection between the wheel axle and the body of the roller-ski so that the blockage of turning the wheel backwards by the one-way bearing is reflected by the instantaneous stopping of the body of the roller-ski, and this blocked roller-ski can serve as a support for athletes to push the other roller-ski forward.
- the novelty of the invention is contained in the replacement of the fixed connection between the wheel axle and the body of the roller-ski with a freely rotating connection and with a fixed disk on the wheel axle to which a spring is attached with its one end, and with the other end, the spring is attached to the body of roller-ski. Therefore, due to the blockade of the rotation of the wheels backwards by the one-way bearing, the mentioned spring is strained in the zone of its elasticity.
- This construction allows that, at the moment when the one-way bearing lock is activated, instead of completely and instantaneously preventing the rotation of the wheel and axle backwards, the axle together with the wheel and disc rotates backwards and progressively slows its rotation by spring tension, because the connection between the body of the roller-ski and the axle of the wheel is not direct and fixed, but through springs and elastic. This practically eliminates the impact of the blockage of the rotation of the wheel, and thus its transmission to the user's knee joint. This also makes the feeling of the ski rolling more similar to skiing on snow.
- Figure 1 is a side view of a roller-ski with its back wheel and spring in a neutral and strained position.
- Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the invention from above. Best Modes for Carrying Out of the Invention
- FIG. 1 and 2 shows the body of the roller-ski A in the direction of movement B.
- a sliding insert has been put, through which a free rotation of the axle H of the wheel C is allowed inside the roller-ski body A.
- discs G are fixed, so that the turning of the axle H is transferred to the rotation of the discs G.
- the springs E are attached by their one end, while their other ends are attached to the roller-ski body A over the bolts J.
- Figure 1 clearly shows the connection and position of the spring E and the axle H, as well as the freedom of rotation of the axle H inside the body of the roller-ski A, before and after activation of the blockade, showing the stopping of the rotation of the wheel C which is directly proportional to the elasticity of spring E and its geometry, which represents the element of regulation of the path length L until the final stop.
- Figure 2 shows a bilaterally symmetrical construction of the invention, while a one sided construction is possible in which a disk G with a fixed connection to the axle H of the wheel C is placed on one side of the axle El of the wheel C so that the rotation of the axle El is transmitted to the rotation of disk G.
- the spring E is fixed to one end, while the other end is attached to the body of the roller-ski A over the bolt J.
