Description

ROTOR FOR AGRICULTURAL BIOMASS-CUTTING MACHINE
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention refers to agricultural machinery intended for cutting and shredding biomass and can be used, in particular, in gardening practice.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Currently there are various known agricultural chopper designs, in which operating elements are mounted on rotating horizontal shaft and arranged perpendicular to motion direction. Radial hammers with cutting edge are employed as cutting and crushing operating tools.
For example, a cutting tool intended for tillage and breakage of soil is described in patent EP3515165 (publication date - July 31, 2019), ICL A01B- 033/10. Cutting tools of agricultural machine are installed in sockets intended for tool mounting and located on machine rotor. The design of the chopping-cutting machine described in Patent Application W02020216700 (applicant - SEPPI M, publication date - October 29, 2020) represents the closest analogous solution. A rotor with holders for a set of cutting and chopping tools of the machine is installed on a frame in such a way that possibility of rotation is provided. Vibrations occurring due to the unbalance arising from the operation of solid tools installed on the rotor represent one of the problems in the manufacture of shredding machines having rotors equipped with chopping and cutting tools. To eliminate this disadvantage, engineers have to increase the weight of the rotor shaft and perform high-accuracy balancing of the rotor with mounted tools. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The technical result achieved by the present invention consists in reduction of rotor weight and making the process of rotor balancing easier.
A rotor for an agricultural biomass-cutting machine having radial hammers installed on its surface, wherein the said rotor is made as individual sections mounted for rotation and interconnected by means of adapters containing movable couplings.
The above-indicated technical result is achieved due to the fact that the rotor is broken down into sections connected together by means of movable couplings. In this case, rotor sections can be made as lower-weight sections. Vibrations arising in each section are transmitted to the adjacent section due to the employment of movable coupling intended for transmitting rotation to one another. Even if a fraction of the energy of these vibrations is transmitted, vibrations are partially compensated for in the course of composition of vibrations. In particular, the said rotor is installed inside a casing, while the rotor sections are fixed in such a way that they can rotate in partitions rigidly secured on the inner surface of the casing
In addition, the said rotor sections are fixed in the said partitions by means of bearing assemblies. Besides, the said rotor sections are made hollow and have adapters installed inside the rotor sections for connecting said rotor sections.
In addition, the rotor sections are made out of individual plates rigidly fixed to one another.
Due to the fact that the rotor sections are secured in partitions through the use of adapters on the inner surface of the casing, the rotor as a whole is fixed in several points, which also contributes toward attenuation of vibrations of rotor sections and enables to reduce the rotor weight. In addition, the size-reduction process is improved because it takes place in each section in a separate space.

Fig. 3 shows a general cross-section view of the agricultural machine intended for biomass cutting with hollow rotor sections. Fig. 4 shows a design of two rotor sections installed in casing partitions. Fig. 5 shows a design of adapters with a movable coupling.
Fig. 6 shows an option of adapter fixing in the partition.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE EMBODIMENTS
Rotor 1 of the agricultural biomass-cutting machine (Fig. 1) is made of individual sections 2 connected to one another by means of movable couplings 3. Rotor sections 2 can be made as monolithic shaft (Fig. 1) or as light-weight structures (Fig. 3 - Fig. 4). Radial hammers 6 (Fig. 1) are shown only on one section 2 of the rotor 1, the second on the right. Ends of sections 2 of rotor 1 are installed in such a way that they can rotate in partitions 5 fixed in casing 4 of the agricultural machine. The said rotation is provided by means of bearing assemblies 16 fixed in partitions 5 (Fig. 1, Fig. 3, Fig. 4).
End sections 2 of rotor 1 are installed in bearing assemblies 16 mounted in the ends of casing 4. Input section 2 of rotor 1 is fixed to pulley 10 of belt transmission 9 from electric motor 8 of agricultural machine. Movable couplings 3 can be made as one of the various types of couplings, for example, as a cam clutch, as a hinge or as another kind of rotation-transmitting connections. Figures 5 and 6 present an exemplary embodiment of movable coupling 3 in the form of a simple clutch coupling/"
Fig. 2 presents a view of radial hammer 6 having cutting edge 7. Each of sections 2 of rotor 1 can be made hollow and adapter 11 in this case is mounted inside section 2 of rotor 1 (Fig. 3 - Fig 4). Hollow sections 2 of rotor 1 can be made cylindrical, or made of individual plates 15 rigidly fixed to one another. Through the use of plates 15 it is possible to section 2 of rotor 1 of any shape - for example, box-shaped (as shown in the Figures) or polygonal. Making sections 2 of rotor 1 hollow further reduces reduce the overall weight of rotor 1.
Adapters 11 comprise movable couplings in the form of the cam clutch 12, which transmit rotation from one section 2 of rotor 1 to another (Fig. 5, Fig. 6).
Fixture elements 13, in which radial hammers 6 are secured, are installed on the surface of sections 2 of rotor 1. Fig. 4 shows fixture elements 13 welded to the surface of section 2 of rotor 1, in which radial hammers 6 are fixed by means of bolt connection 14. Rotor 1 of agricultural machine operates as follows (Fig1 - Fig 6).
Rotational torque is transmitted from electric motor 8 via belt transmission 9 to pulley 10 mounted on rotor 1. The first section 2 of rotor 1 starts rotating. Rotation from the first section 2 of rotor 1 is transmitted to the next section 2 of rotor 1 by means of movable couplings 3 of adapters 11. Radial hammers 6 installed on sections 2 of rotor 1 also rotate and cut a biomass. In this process the vibration, which arises in the course of operation of each section 2 of rotor 1 is practically not transmitted to the next section 2 of rotor 1. At the same time, the cut and shredded biomass does not move beyond partitions 5 of casing 4, which ensures lower- degree lumping of the biomass outgoing from the machine.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
The proposed rotor design is intended primarily for cutting and shredding biomass and can be used, in particular, in gardening practice for agricultural intertillage machines. This rotor design can also be used in stationary biomass- cutting machines.
