Abstract

The present invention is directed to frameless cradles that provide cradle platforms free of framing walls and securely harnessed to the user through an innovative cross-over harness and support belt system, offering mobility for the user and freedom for the infant. By elimination of the cradle frame barrier between user and infant (e.g., mother and infant), the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention allow for intimate contact between the user and the infant positioned on the cradle platform. Moreover, the infant freedom is particularly useful for nursing, including, in certain embodiments, multi-axially positioning of the cradle platform afforded by the cross-over harness.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Bassinets and cradles have been known for hundreds of years, and in this way, every period of furniture style has produced a variety of cradle types, from simple boxes to the elaborate cradles of 18th-century France. The evolution of the cradle has moved from wooden to wicker to the barred crib of the early 20th century. Moreover, through the years, the construction materials of these structures have continually gotten lighter and more portable to carry.
With the active lifestyle of modern parents, multi-tasking has become an essential part of the role of a parent, and stationary structures like cribs and nursing pillows have become less desirable. To this point, whether for just carrying an infant or nursing the infant, hands-free options or modifications to most products have found increasing favorability. One such advancement has involved adding shoulder straps or a harness to existing cradles/bassinets, which allowed for carrying the infant while leaving the users hands free to engage in other duties, such as attending to a second child. The supportive frame walls of the cradle/bassinet provide safety barriers while allowing a significant freedom of motion (/. e. , even if also strapped in). However, these frame walls unfortunately also provided significant separation of infant and user, which obstructed intimate interaction with the infant, including critical activities like nursing.
Alternative frameless solutions seemingly trade between freedom of movement and mobility of the user in an effort to offer an answer, /.e., the greater the user freedom the lower the infant mobility. From varying styles of nursing pillows with significant freedom of movement for the infant but little mobility for the user, to infant slings that offer very restricted movement for the infant with increased mobility for the user, the frameless solutions fail to find a balance that affords both mobility to the user while offering increased freedom of movement of the infant required for effective nursing. Expanded and modified nursing pillows that are designed to be used when seated offer the freedom of movement of the infant needed for nursing but keep hands free only within reach of the seated user. Slings offer the user mobility, however, the infant is held very restrictively in one position, making nursing difficult with respect to positioning. Slings further have the added problem that while user mobility is afforded, nursing requires the lowering of one side of the inner sling, creating a dangerous situation for the infant to roll out of the sling.
As such, there remains a clear need for a portable cradle system that eliminates the cradle frame barrier between a mother and infant, especially a nursing child, allowing for intimate contact between mother and infant with freedom for the infant and mobility for the user.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
Accordingly, the present invention is directed to frameless cradles that provide cradle platforms free of framing walls and securely harnessed to the user through an innovative cross-over harness and support belt system, offering mobility for the user and freedom for the infant. By elimination of the cradle frame barrier between user and infant ( e.g ., mother and infant), the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention allow for intimate contact between the user and the infant positioned on the cradle platform. Moreover, the infant freedom is particularly useful for nursing, including, in certain embodiments, multi-axially positioning of the cradle platform afforded by the cross-over harness.
As such, one aspect of the present invention is harnessed frameless cradle comprising: a cradle platform free of framing walls and shaped to partially surround the middle section of a harnessed user when the cradle platform is positioned in a tray orientation; a cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform wherein said fastened cross-over shoulder harness comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation such that the point of cross-over of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop; and a middle section support belt comprising at least one middle section strap affixed ( e.g ., permanently affixed) to the side of the cradle platform of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affix to the other side of the cradle platform.
Another aspect of the present invention is a harnessed frameless cradle comprising: a cradle platform free of framing walls and shaped to partially surround the middle section of a harnessed user when the cradle platform is positioned in a tray orientation; wherein the cradle platform comprises a cover made of loop latch material; a cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform wherein said fastened cross-over shoulder harness comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation such that the point of cross-over of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix by hook latch material to any position on the cradle platform cover creating a completed support harness loop, and such that the cradle platform may be multi-axially positioned, wherein the cross-over shoulder harness comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform, and wherein the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness are interlaced {e.g., permanently interlaced) at the point of cross-over of the straps, and wherein the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness each comprise a top strap fastened at one end to the receiving side of the cradle platform and an integrated strap extender reversibly linked through a fixed adjuster positioned on the cross-over shoulder harness between the point of cross-over and the other end of the top strap {e.g., through fabric webbing, e.g., laced through the fixed adjuster) and comprising hook latch material suitable to reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop, and an integrated fabric safe pairing system that pairs the hook latch material with a matching loop latch material to protect fabrics on the user; a middle section support belt comprising one middle section strap permanently affixed to the side of the cradle platform of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affix to the other side of the cradle platform through a reversible fastener (e.g., buckle) attached to the middle section strap and a matching fastener on the cradle platform, wherein the middle section strap comprises fabric webbing partially encased in foam padded fabric, and laced into a reversible buckle, with suitable length to provide variable extension of the length to accommodate larger users; and a security mesh that integrates with the cross-over shoulder harness that comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform, and wherein the security mesh is positioned to provide an external safety barrier on the distal side of the receiving side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation between the reversible fastener and the cradle platform, wherein the security mesh is constructed to have openings on at least one side of the cradle platform and an adjustable closure, and wherein the security mesh comprises flexible tubing positioned from the distal side of the cradle platform to the upper periphery of the security mesh to create a curved tented shape for better visibility and accessibility to the cradle platform.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Given the need for a portable cradle system that eliminates the cradle frame barrier between mother and infant, allowing for intimate contact between mother and infant with freedom for the infant and mobility for the user, the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention overcome the deficiencies of all existing frameless solutions. In this respect, the wearable solution of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention are suitable for intimate interaction between the user and the infant, e.g., nursing and soothing. In particular, the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention allow the user to be mobile and hands-free while the infant is secured inside the cradle; where it is equally safe and comfortable for the user and the infant.
The harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention not only bring infants close enough for intimate contact suitable to effectuate nursing, but also have a variety of adjustable components, including capable of being multi-axially positioned for the perfectly desired feeding position for both infant and adult. An improvement over any known products, the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention allows the infant to be in the cradle while also being nestled in the arms of the user, against the chest, and near the user’s face, providing a soothing environment.
In this way, the present invention is directed to frameless cradles that provide cradle platforms free of framing walls and securely harnessed to the user through an innovative cross-over harness and support belt system, offering mobility for the user and freedom for the infant. By elimination of the cradle frame barrier between user and infant (e.g., mother and infant), the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention allow for intimate contact between the user and the infant positioned on the cradle platform. Moreover, the infant freedom is particularly useful for nursing, including, in certain embodiments, multi-axially positioning of the cradle platform afforded by the cross-over harness.
The present invention, including harnessed frameless cradles, and components thereof, will be described with reference to the following definitions that, for convenience, are set forth below. Unless otherwise specified, the below terms used herein are defined as follows:
I. Definitions
As used herein, the term "a,” "an,” "the” and similar terms used in the context of the present invention (especially in the context of the claims) are to be construed to cover both the singular and plural unless otherwise indicated herein or clearly contradicted by the context.
The language “and/or” is used herein to mean both “and” in the conjunctive form and “or” in the disjunctive form.
The term “about” is used herein in reference to the degree or extent of the term which it modifies, and that such extent may be 100% or near to but not exactly 100% of the modified term; industry accepted standards will assist in defining the quantitative aspects of how “near” 100% is defined. In particular embodiments, the term “about” indicates ±3%, ±2%, ±1 % or ±0.5%. In a particular embodiment, for example, the language “about 90 degrees” would be exactly 90 degrees. In one alternative particular embodiment, for example, the language “about 90 degrees” would mean 90 degrees ±2%.
The language “behind the neck” is used herein to describe the area of the back that ranges from just below the neck to just below the shoulder blades.
The term “cradle” is used herein describe a small, cozy sleeping space meant for an infant which is distinguished from a bassinet based on designed movement, which in stationary cradles is usually rocking from side to side (e.g., manually).
The language “crossed over orientation” is used herein to describe relative orientation of one item to another, where in a relative sense, the two items through close proximity, or overlap at one point, form an X shape or approximate the shape of an X. Moreover, the point of cross over is the point of overlap or close proximity of these items (e.g., straps), which for example, may be linked through a reversible connector or strap, interlaced, or in certain embodiments, permanently fixed together. For example, the cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation.
The term “distal,” for example, as used in the expression “distal side of the cradle platform” is used herein to describe the side of the cradle platform that is situated the furthest away from the user when the cradle platform is in the tray orientation.
The language “frame walls” is used in herein to describe the peripheral walls of existing cradles or bassinets that provide the rigid vertical structural bounds of the cradle or bassinets when used to house an infant. In certain embodiments, this would include frame walls positioned when in use that might not be positioned when being transported.
The term “frameless” is used herein to describe having no peripheral frame walls.
The language “hook latch material” is art-recognized, and is used herein to describe the hook side material of the well-known pairing of hook and loop material (e.g., VELCRO®).
The term “infant” is used herein to describe a child in the earliest period of life, especially before he or she can walk.
The term “integrate” as used in the language “mesh integrates” with the cross over shoulder harness is used to describe the act of combining one thing with another so that they become a whole, e.g., the mesh becomes part of (e.g., is woven into) the cross-over shoulder harness. In certain embodiments, the security mesh integrates with the cross-over shoulder harness at the reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform.
The term “intimate” or “intimacy” is used herein to describe interaction of user to infant that allows for skin to skin to contact, e.g., suitable for nursing the infant.
The language “loop latch material” is art-recognized, and is used herein to describe the loop side material of the well-known pairing of hook and loop material (e.g., VELCRO®).
The language “middle section” is used herein in reference to the middle section of a user’s body ranging from hips to chest. Within this region/section is the user’s waist.
The language “multi-axially positioned” is used herein in reference to the cradle platform positioning to describe the ability of the cross-over shoulder harness to afford numerous angles of the cradle platform calculated as the angle deviating from tray orientation roughly parallel to the ground (with reference to the user, and indicating which side of the cradle platform is in the upward direction); which may be viewed as aligning along different axes (or multi-axial). Such multi-axial positioning is achieved through the flexibility of the cross-over shoulder harness, and the reversible affixation of the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness to any position on the cover such that the cradle platform can be positioned, with security, along numerous axes. In certain embodiments, the multi-axial positioning afford suitable angles (/. e. , in real-time) that assist in intimate nursing positioning.
The term “nursing” is used herein to describe a woman who is directly feeding her baby with her own breast milk. In certain embodiments of the invention, where advantages are described for a nursing mother, the act of nursing may be replaced by bottle feeding by a male or female user, affording similar convenience and intimacy advantage, allowing for intimate contact between user and infant with freedom for the infant and mobility for the user.
As used herein, the term “reversible” or “reversibly” describes any mechanism or action that may be utilized to repeatably place a given item or items in one of two possible states, indefinitely. For example, a fastener may be open/closed or fastened/unfastened, hook and loop fasteners may be affixed or separate; these closure mechanisms are considered reversible. In particular embodiments, the reversible fastener may be selected from hook and loop (e.g., VELCRO®), a buckle, a tie, a zipper, a ratchet-type binding, button, hook and eye, a snap, and the like, or any combination thereof.
The language “security fabric” is used herein to describe material that is located/positioned to provide an external safety barrier on the distal side of the receiving side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation. The fabric is sturdy and breathable to ensure an infant in the harnessed frameless cradle, with security fabric in place, would not be restricted from breathing comfortably.
The language “tray orientation” is used herein to describe an item, such as the cradle platform of the present invention, that is held in a positioned orientation to extend horizontally as in the case of holding a tray, /.e., in a three-dimensional arrangement wherein the largest rectangle-like face of the cradle platform is parallel to the ground. In the present invention, this orientation of the cradle platform is utilized to receive an infant, wherein the top of this tray orientation, /.e., facing upwards, is referred to herein as the receiving side of the cradle platform. Moreover, although the tray orientation may also be multi-axially positioned, such positioning is still designated as a tray orientation, and may be referenced by describing the angle deviating from roughly parallel to the ground (with reference to the user, and indicating which side of the cradle platform is in the upward direction).
The term “waist” is art-recognized is used herein to describe the narrowed part of the body between the hips and chest
II. Harnessed Frameless Cradle Of The Invention
The present invention described herein relates to a portable cradle system comprising a cradle platform, free of frame walls and shaped to partially surround the circumference of a user. The system is constructed of an infant cradle platform, one or more straps that form a middle section support belt, and shoulder straps that form a cross-over shoulder harness. The middle section support belt has one or more adjustable straps to secure the platform to the user’s body. The two adjustable shoulder straps of the cross-over shoulder harness are connected to the cradle platform, and optionally connected through integrated security mesh. The other ends of the shoulder straps allow the user to hang the entire system on their body by wrapping over and around the back of the user and connecting back to the cradle platform. Both the middle section support belt and cross-over shoulder harness straps have an option to be extended to fit different adult sizes. When all components are secured, the user can sit or be mobile, for example, with an infant inside the system while being hands free; allowing the user to place hands on top or inside to touch the infant. In particular embodiments, the system may be adjusted, in real time, to achieve proper nursing angles through multi-axial positioning.
As such, one embodiment of the present invention provides a harnessed frameless cradle comprising: a cradle platform free of framing walls and shaped to partially surround the middle section of a harnessed user when the cradle platform is positioned in a tray orientation; a cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform wherein said fastened cross-over shoulder harness comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation such that the point of cross-over of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop; and a middle section support belt comprising at least one middle section strap affixed ( e.g ., permanently affixed) to the side of the cradle platform of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affix to the other side of the cradle platform.
Another embodiment of the present invention provides a harnessed frameless cradle comprising: a cradle platform free of framing walls and shaped to partially surround the middle section, e.g., waist, of a harnessed user when the cradle platform is positioned in a tray orientation; a cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform wherein said fastened cross-over shoulder harness comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation such that the point of cross-over of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop; and a middle section support belt comprising two middle section straps of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affix to each other.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, a security fabric, e.g., security mesh, is connected to the cradle platform, and provides an additional barrier (i.e., in addition to the cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform) for example, to prevent an infant's body from rolling off the platform.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises a security fabric, e.g., security mesh, positioned to provide an external safety barrier on the distal side of the receiving side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation. In certain embodiments, the security fabric, e.g., security mesh, integrates with the cross-over shoulder harness {e.g., through reversible connectors). In certain embodiments, the security fabric, e.g., security mesh, integrates with the cross-over shoulder harness and comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform, and wherein the a security fabric, e.g., security mesh, is positioned to provide an external safety barrier on the distal side of the receiving side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation between the reversible fastener and the cradle platform. In particular embodiments, the security fabric, e.g., security mesh, comprises a stretchy or elastic border material. In particular embodiments, the security fabric may be removable for cleaning purposes, e.g., through the use of a zipper.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention wherein the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises a security fabric, e.g., security mesh, the security fabric is constructed to have an openings on at least one side. In particular embodiments the security fabric, e.g., security mesh, is constructed to have an openings on each side of the cradle platform (e.g., allowing for extended horizontal motion).
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention wherein the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises a security fabric, e.g., security mesh, the security fabric comprises an adjustable closure (e.g., to cinch the top and/or the open sides of the security fabric). In certain embodiments, the adjustable closure comprises a drawstring-spring toggle. In particular embodiments, the harnessed frameless cradle includes more than one adjustable closure, e.g., 2, 3 or 4.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention wherein the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises a security fabric, e.g., security mesh, the security fabric comprises flexible tubing positioned from the distal side of the cradle platform to the upper periphery of the security mesh (e.g., to the stretchy or elastic border material) to create a curved tented shape for better visibility and accessibility to the cradle platform. In particular embodiments, 1 to 13 lengths of flexible tubing are employed, e.g., 7 lengths of flexible tubing.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the hook latch material on each strap is protected by a fabric safe pairing system that pairs the hook latch material with a matching loop latch material to protect fabrics on the user. In certain embodiments, an integrated fabric safe pairing system provides matching loop latch positioned at the end of the strap and paired by folding over the end of the strap.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises one or more accessory magnets. In certain embodiments, the accessory magnets are encased in a fabric material. In particular embodiments, the accessory magnets are presented on the security mesh or on the cross-over shoulder harness.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles present invention, the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises one or more accessory items including a magnetic pair to the accessory magnet, wherein the accessory item is selected from the group consisting of a cloth (e.g., burp cloth), a pacifier, a bottle, a toy, a flashlight, a pouch, and any combination thereof.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises one or more accessory snaps. In particular embodiments, the accessory snaps are presented on the security mesh or on the cross-over shoulder harness.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles present invention, the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises one or more accessory items including a snap pair to the accessory snaps, wherein the accessory item is selected from the group consisting of a cloth (e.g., burp cloth), a pacifier, a bottle, a toy, a flashlight, a pouch, and any combination thereof.
Another embodiment of the present invention provides a harnessed frameless cradle comprising: a cradle platform free of framing walls and shaped to partially surround the middle section, e.g., waist, of a harnessed user when the cradle platform is positioned in a tray orientation, wherein the cradle platform comprises a cover made of loop latch material; a cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform at the distal side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation, wherein said fastened cross-over shoulder harness comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation such that the point of cross-over of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix by hook latch material to any position on the cradle platform cover creating a completed support harness loop, and such that the cradle platform may be multi-axially positioned, wherein the cross-over shoulder harness comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform, and wherein the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness are reversibly connected at the point of cross-over of the straps {e.g., by a snap); a middle section support belt comprising two middle section straps of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user in a crossed over orientation and reversibly affix to each other through hook and loop fastening; and a security mesh composed of stretchy material that integrates with the cross-over shoulder harness that comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform, and wherein the security mesh is positioned to provide an external safety barrier on the distal side of the receiving side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation between the reversible fastener and the cradle platform, wherein the security mesh is constructed to have openings on at least one side {e.g., on each side) of the cradle platform {e.g., allowing for extended horizontal motion) and an adjustable closure ( e.g ., drawstring- spring toggle). In particular embodiments, the security mesh comprises a stretchy or elastic border material.

A. Cradle Platform
The harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention comprise a cradle platform free of framing walls and shaped to partially surround the middle section, e.g., waist, of a harnessed user when the cradle platform is positioned in a tray orientation. The cradle platform is designed to be suitable in size to receive and position an infant {e.g., hold/feed the infant), in addition to being body contoured to fit {e.g., comfortably fit) the middle section of the typical user, e.g., post-partum mother, father, or grandparent. The elimination of the cradle frame walls/barrier allow for intimate contact between the user and the infant positioned on the cradle platform. The cradle platform, in the tray orientation (with receiving side facing upward) is generally defined by a proximal region and a distal region. The proximal region is configured to be placed near or adjacent to a user’s middle section, e.g., waist, shaped to partially surround the middle section of a harnessed user. The distal region is generally furthest from the user to which the cross-over shoulder harness is fastened, i.e., where the receiving side of the cradle platform is in the tray orientation and facing upward.
In certain embodiments of the invention, the receiving side of the cradle platform may have contoured shape. In certain embodiments, the cradle platform may be additionally adapted to place an infant in an improved ergonomic position facing a user, e.g., with the head of the infant above the stomach of the infant while feeding. In particular embodiments, the cradle platform may be higher at the outside edges than at the center of the receiving side of the cradle platform (e.g., not including the proximal outside edge). In such embodiments, the height may increase substantially linearly from the center of the cradle platform to portions at the outer edges where the cradle platform would have its maximum height.
In certain embodiments of the invention, the cradle platform provides a cover surface suitable for reversibly affixing each strap of the cross-over shoulder harness to any position on the cover, such that the cradle platform may be multi-axially positioned. This multi-axial positioning is afforded by the adjustable nature of the reversible fastening/affixing of the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness to raise the infant's head higher than the body, which can, for example, benefit the infant's reflux and digestion system. This further affords the advantage of allowing the infant to be positioned in an ergonomically beneficial position when nursing, while also facilitating the maintenance of the mother in an ergonomically beneficial position when nursing the infant, e.g., relieving pressure from the user’s neck, back, stomach and relieving weight and pressure off the user’s hands.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the cradle platform comprises a cover made of loop latch material to which hook latch material on the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness is suitable to reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop. In certain embodiments, the cover made of loop latch material surrounds the entire cradle platform. In particular embodiments, the cover made of loop latch material may afford accessory item attachment through hook latch material on the accessory ( e.g ., a cloth, a pacifier, a bottle, a toy, a flashlight, a pouch, and any combination thereof). In particular embodiments, the cover is removable. In specific embodiments, the removable cover is machine washable. In specific embodiments, the removable cover encloses the cradle platform cover through use of a zipper and/or snaps, e.g., a circumferential zipper.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the cradle platform cover comprises a removable sheet. In certain embodiments, the sheet may be held on with a zipper and/or snaps, e.g., wherein one of the pair of snap components is fixed onto the cover. In a specific embodiment, the sheet may be held on with a zipper and snaps (e.g. , 1 , 2, 3, or 4 snaps, e.g. , 3 snaps).
In particular embodiments, the cover is machine washable.
In certain embodiments of the invention, the receiving side of the cradle platform may have comprise two layers. In certain embodiments, the top layer is selected of a material that is breathable to prevent infant suffocation shape.
In certain embodiments of the invention, the receiving side of the cradle platform may have comprise one layer. In certain embodiments, the invention provides a separate accessory pillow selected of a material that is breathable to prevent infant suffocation shape may be placed on or under the removable sheet.
B. Shoulder Harness
/. Cross-Over Shoulder Harness
The harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention comprise a cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform wherein said fastened cross-over shoulder harness comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation such that the point of cross-over of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop. The straps of the cross- over shoulder harness, in the crossed over orientation relieve a significant amount of the weight of the cradle platform ( e.g ., with infant in place) so it’s not all on the user’s stomach or hands. This weight relief is a substantial advantage for post-partum sensitivity and preventing related injuries.
In certain embodiments of the invention, the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness reversibly affix to the cradle platform cover surface suitable to any position on the cover, such that the cradle platform may be multi-axially positioned. This multi-axial positioning is afforded by the adjustable nature of the reversible fastening/affixing of the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness to raise the infant's head the appropriate height for nursing comfort and success, e.g., higher than the body, which can, for example, benefit the infant's reflux and digestion system. This further affords the advantage of allowing the infant to be positioned in an ergonomically beneficial position when nursing, while also facilitating the maintenance of the mother in an ergonomically beneficial position when nursing the infant, e.g., relieving pressure from the user’s neck, back, stomach and relieving weight and pressure off the user’s hands. In particular embodiments, the cross-over shoulder harness places the infant towards the mother for ideal stomach-to-stomach position; supports the infant, brings the infant to breast, and not breast to infant; does not require the mother's arms to secure the infant; and/or supports the nursing mother's arms to reduce arm fatigue and back pain from leaning or slouching.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the cross-over shoulder harness straps comprise fabric webbing (e.g., heavy duty fabric webbing) stitched on top of the shoulder straps. In particular embodiments, the fabric webbing is stitched along the entirety of the shoulder strap.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the cross-over shoulder harness is fastened to the receiving side of the cradle at the distal side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the cross-over shoulder harness comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform. In certain embodiments, the fastener may be hook and loop ( e.g ., VELCRO®), a buckle, a tie, a zipper, a ratchet- type binding, button, hook and eye, a snap, and the like, or any combination thereof. In particular embodiments, the fastener is a buckle, e.g., a magnetic buckle. In a specific embodiment, the fastener is a buckle in combination with a snap. In certain embodiments, the cross-over shoulder reversible fastener utilizes a magnetic component for reversible fastening (e.g., a magnetic buckle).
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness are reversibly connected at the point of cross-over of the straps e.g., with a securing latch (e.g., snap, button). In certain embodiments, the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness are reversibly connected at the point of cross-over of the straps with a snap. In particular embodiments, multiple snaps are provided along the cross over area to afford a range of comfortable locations for the point of cross-over. In specific embodiments, the cross over connection (e.g., snap) positions the shoulder straps into supportive position around neck holding the cradle platform in levered tray orientation position against the body of a user.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness are interlaced (e.g., permanently interlaced) at the point of cross-over of the straps (e.g., the fabric webbing stitched on top of the shoulder straps are interlaced) . In certain embodiments, the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness comprise one or more reversible snaps positioned that may be used to position the interlaced point of cross-over above or below the snaps to assist in directing a range of comfortable locations for the point of cross-over. In specific embodiments, the cross over connection (e.g., snap) positions the shoulder straps into supportive position around neck holding the cradle platform in levered tray orientation position against the body of a user.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, each strap of the cross-over shoulder harness may be reversibly affixed to the side of the cradle platform or the bottom of the cradle platform.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles present invention, the cross-over shoulder harness straps may be optionally extended to fit different adult sizes using a strap extender that utilizes a matching/paired reversible fastening/affixation mechanism, and comprises an additional reversible fastening/affixation mechanism identical to the one matched on the original strap. For example, in embodiments where the two cross-over shoulder harness straps of the cross-over shoulder harness reversibly affix to cradle platform through hook and loop fastening, the strap extender could match the hook latch material with a loop latch material on the extender strap and provide an additional hook latch material to reversibly affix to the cradle platform, completing the cross-over shoulder harness loop.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles present invention, the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness each comprise a top strap fastened at one end to the receiving side of the cradle platform and an integrated strap extender reversibly linked through a fixed adjuster positioned on the cross-over shoulder harness between the point of cross-over and the other end of the top strap (e.g., through fabric webbing, e.g., laced through the fixed adjuster) and comprising hook latch material suitable to reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop. In particular embodiments, the cross-over shoulder harness straps comprise two parts, a top part with 2 reversible fasteners (e.g., magnetic buckles) connecting security mesh to the shoulder straps and with heavy duty webbing looped through an adjuster stitched on bottom of the top part of the shoulder straps and an integrated strap extender with webbing from the fixed adjuster stitched on the top of the integrated strap extender. In specific embodiments, a sufficient length webbing is laced through the fixed adjuster that connects to the top of the integrated strap extender of the shoulder strap that can be adjusted for sizing. In certain embodiments, the straps of the cross over shoulder harness further comprise an integrated fabric safe pairing system that pairs the hook latch material with a matching loop latch material to protect fabrics on the user.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles present invention, the shoulder harness straps of the cross-over shoulder harness may comprise one or more strings next to the magnetic buckle component, e.g., which are of sufficient length to be useful in pulling the shoulder harness strap back to the front when it’s out of user’s reach. //. Alternative Shoulder Harness
In certain alternative embodiments of the present invention, the straps of the shoulder harness are connected by a spacer linking the adjacent straps behind the neck within distance sufficient to hold straps on the shoulders, in a spacer-linked orientation.
In certain alternative embodiments of the present invention, the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention comprise a spacer-linked shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform wherein said fastened spacer-linked shoulder harness comprises two straps linked by a spacer such that the point of linking of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop.

In specific embodiments, a sufficient length webbing is laced through the fixed adjuster that connects to the top of the integrated strap extender of the shoulder strap that can be adjusted for sizing. In certain embodiments, the straps of the cross over shoulder harness further comprise an integrated fabric safe pairing system that pairs the hook latch material with a matching loop latch material to protect fabrics on the user.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles present invention, the shoulder harness straps of the cross-over shoulder harness may comprise one or more strings next to the magnetic buckle component, e.g., which are of sufficient length to be useful in pulling the shoulder harness strap back to the front when it’s out of user’s reach. C. Middle Section Support Belt
The harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention comprise a middle section support belt comprising at least one middle section strap affixed to the side of the cradle platform of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affix to the other side of the cradle platform. The middle section support belt, in certain embodiments, provides tighter and increased weight bearing support for the cradle platform. In particular embodiments, the middle section support belt affords an additional fulcrum point, leverage against the user, to make the cradle platform more secure upon release of the cross-over harness fastener; such security assists in managing or manipulation of the multi-axial positioning of the cradle platform while the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention are in active use. i. One Strap
In certain embodiments, the middle section support belt of the present invention comprises one middle section strap permanently affixed to the side of the cradle platform of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affixed to the other side of the cradle platform through a reversible fastener ( e.g ., via a buckle) attached to the middle section strap and a matching fastener on the cradle platform. In particular embodiments, the middle section strap is permanently affixed to the left side of the user and the matching fastener on the cradle platform is on the right side of the user. In particular embodiments, the cradle platform further comprises a retention loop that retains the reversible fastener of the strap near the matching fastener on the cradle platform.
In certain embodiments, the middle section support belt comprises fabric webbing (e.g., heavy duty fabric webbing), and optionally stitched to more comfortable fabric material. In certain embodiments, the middle section strap comprises fabric webbing (e.g., and partially encased in foam padded fabric) laced into a reversible fastener (e.g., a buckle), with suitable length to provide variable extension of the length to accommodate larger users. In particular embodiments, the middle section strap comprises an elastic loop to hold excess fabric webbing. In particular embodiments, the fabric webbing is permanently affixed to the left side of the user and is inserted through the middle section support belt and looped through the fastener (e.g., buckle) with sufficient length to surround the user fasten with the matching fastener on the cradle platform on the right side of the user, and which can be adjusted for larger sizes. ii. Two Straps
In certain embodiments, the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention comprise a middle section support belt comprising two middle section straps of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affix to each other. The middle support belt straps ( e.g ., waist straps) are attached or originate from the proximal side of the cradle platform. In certain embodiments, the waist straps are made of soft material. In certain embodiments this reversible fastening/affixation may be hook and loop (e.g., VELCRO®), a buckle, a tie, a zipper, a ratchet-type binding, button, hook and eye, a snap, and the like, or any combination thereof.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the two middle section straps of the middle section support belt reversibly affix to each other through hook and loop fastening.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention, the two middle section straps of the middle section support belt are of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user in a crossed over orientation and reversibly affix to each other. In certain embodiments the straps are equal lengths. In certain alternative embodiments, the straps are not equal lengths. In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles present invention, the harnessed frameless cradle further comprises storage pouches from which the two middle section straps of the middle section support belt attach or originate and are of sufficient size suitable to store the straps when not in use.
In certain embodiments of the harnessed frameless cradles present invention, the middle section support belt straps may be optionally extended to fit different adult sizes using a strap extender that utilizes a matching/paired reversible fastening/affixation mechanism, and comprises an additional reversible fastening/affixation mechanism identical to the one matched on the original strap. For example, in embodiments where the two middle section straps of the middle section support belt reversibly affix to each other through hook and loop fastening, the strap extender could match the hook latch material with a loop latch material on the extender strap and provide an additional hook latch material to reversibly affix to the other strap, completing the middle section support belt loop.
III. Methods of Harnessed Frameless Cradle Of The Invention
A. Methods of manufacture
The harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention may be manufactured by any method suitable to prepare the harnessed frameless cradles described herein, which, for example, may comprise techniques used in both the clothing and furniture design and manufacture. In certain varied embodiments of the present invention, the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention may comprise the following components:
Cradle platform comprising one ore multiple levels/types of foam, a cradle platform cover, presenting with pouches on the backside of the cradle platform cover, with the cradle platform cover enclosing the cradle platform and close with a zipper, and such cover presenting a snap and/or zipper on sheet over the receiving surface of the cradle platform cover:
• Mattress 1 (Breathable Foam)
• Mattress 2 (Firm Foam; alternatively used as full mattress without levels)
• Cradle platform cover
• 2 pouches on backside of platform cover
• Zipper 1 (to enclose foam inside platform cover)
• Zipper 2 (for sheet on platform cover)
• Snaps for sheet on platform cover
Cross-over shoulder harness comprising shoulder straps integrated with a security mesh, magnetic buckles (with optional snaps) to connect the shoulder straps to the security mesh (and in turn the cradle platform), fabric webbing to interlace shoulder straps together in a cross-over position, snaps to hold webbing and shoulder straps together to determine sizing, crossover snaps, string toggle for adjusting the tightness of the security mesh, string on each of the shoulder harness straps next to the magnetic buckle component of sufficient length to be useful in pulling the shoulder harness strap back to the front when it’s out of user’s reach, accessory snaps/magnets to be positioned on the security mesh, and shoulder strap extenders or with sufficient length webbing and adjuster system to extend length of the shoulder straps for sizing and desired comfort:
• 2 shoulder straps (e.g., with sufficient length webbing and adjuster system for sizing) connected to security mesh

Middle section support belt comprising at least one middle support belt strap ( e.g ., waist strap), affixed to the side of the cradle platform or attached or originating from the proximal side of the cradle platform, and strap extenders or integrated strap extenders:
• one middle support belt permanently affixed to the cradle platform positioned on the left side of the user and the matching fastener on the cradle platform on the right side of the user, extendable for larger size by sufficient length of webbing
• 2 middle support belt straps attached to proximal side of the cradle platform, using belt strap extenders for larger size
In certain embodiments, the type of stitching may be upholstery strong, heavy duty grade stitching, e.g., polyester yarn. In particular embodiments, higher pressure points may be stitched with 3x stitches, e.g., front back front. In specific embodiments, the higher pressure points include, for example, connection of side of security mesh to the top of the cradle platform cover and the top of security mesh strings with toggles.
In certain embodiments, the type of fabric for the cover, straps (e.g., outer side of strap), pouch, pockets, sheets, blanket, or burp cloth may comprise summer fabric, winter fabric, or any combination thereof. In particular embodiments, the summer fabric is cotton or bamboo In particular embodiments, the winter fabric is muslin or flannel. In certain embodiments, the fabric touching the skin is fluffy, e.g., fabric for the side of the straps touching the skin or a blanket.
In certain embodiments, the type of fabric for the cradle platform cover may comprise double sided quilt made from cotton or bamboo {e.g., breathable and washable).
In certain embodiments, the type of fabric for the cradle platform cover may comprise water resistant quilt fabric that is washable.
In certain embodiments, the cross-over shoulder harness straps may comprise two parts, a top part with 2 reversible fasteners (e.g., magnetic buckles) connecting security mesh to the shoulder straps and with heavy duty fabric webbing looped through a fixed adjuster stitched on bottom of the top part of the shoulder straps and an integrated strap extender bottom part with the fabric webbing from the fixed adjuster stitched on the top of the integrated strap extender.
In certain embodiments, the cross-over shoulder harness straps may comprise ¼” foam and/or fusible fleece inside the shoulder straps.
In certain embodiments, the middle section support belt of the present invention comprises foam and webbing belt covered (e.g., partially encased) by fabrics of sufficient length to cover back area of the harnessed user, and where the fabric webbing is of suitable length to provide variable extension of the length to accommodate larger users.
The present invention is not limited by color. However, in certain embodiments the fabric colors are selected from light tones, e.g., light silver grey. In certain embodiments, the fabric colors are selected from black, white, greens, blues, yellows, pinks, and prints.
In certain embodiments, the hook and loop fastener materials are upholstery grade.
In certain embodiments, harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention is finished, inside and out with overlook stitch or piping covering stitches. In certain embodiments of the invention, piping is added for trim and the appearance/feel of soft touch to the body. In certain embodiments, the accessory snaps/magnets are any size suitable to achieve the intended purpose.
In certain embodiments, the zipper on the cover of the cradle platform is heavy duty, e.g., number 5 zipper.
B. Methods of Using
The harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention allow the user to be mobile and hands-free while the infant is secured inside. Moreover, it is equally safe and comfortable for the user and the infant. The harnessed frameless cradles allows the user to be hands-free in activities for example, feeding an infant which relieves the user’s muscle stress which can cause conditions such as de Quervain's tenosynovitis (Mommy’s Wrist).
In certain embodiments, the user can wear the product and place an infant in it. With the infant in the harnessed frameless cradle, the user can feed the infant, soothe the infant, or let the infant play or sleep. In certain embodiments, the infant is capable of sitting up for extended periods, e.g., secured in sitting position by the adjustable closure mechanism that may have one or more drawstring toggles. In other embodiments, the harnessed frameless cradles can be used as a support system for user to work or rest in a comfortable position, e.g., co-sleeping.
In certain embodiments, the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention are capable of supporting 50 pounds, e.g., 30 pounds.
In certain embodiments, in order to operate the harnessed frameless cradles of the present invention the user adjusts crossover snaps on cross-over shoulder harness straps as needed. The user then puts the shoulder straps around their neck and shoulder, after which the user connects the middle section support belt straps around their body to secure the harnessed frameless cradle in the tray orientation. The user takes the cross-over shoulder harness straps from behind them and reversibly fastens the ends to the outer surface of the cradle platform (e.g., the cradle platform cover) and/or the bottom surface of the cradle platform. To place the infant on the receiving side of the cradle platform, the user releases one the security mesh fastener (e.g., magnetic buckle and safety button) that integrates the security mesh with the cross-over shoulder harness straps. Once the infant is placed on the receiving side of the cradle platform, the user can reconnect the reconnects the security mesh fastener. The user can then adjust the adjustable closure apparatus on the security mesh. At this point, the user can readjust the connected cross-over shoulder harness straps and middle section support belt straps.
IV. Design Aspects of the Invention
Independent of the utility related to the harnessed frameless cradle, and components thereof, of the present invention, the ornamental appearance of any novel design provided herein is intended to be part of this invention, for example, each of the perspective views in Figures 1 to 8, which may form an independent or combined ornamental appearance of the harnessed frameless cradle, and components thereof, described herein.
Accordingly, one embodiment of the present invention provide an ornamental design for a harnessed frameless cradle of the present invention as shown and described.

The figures (1-8) depict one example of the harnessed frameless cradle of the present invention, which consists of a cradle platform cover 100 and a security mesh 201. The cradle platform cover 100 has a mattress base 101 inserted within. The cradle platform cover 100 has a distal surface 111, receiving side 109, proximal surface positioned at user middle section 108, bottom surface 110 and a proximal surface positioned at left/right of user middle section 112. The distal surface 111 and bottom surface 110 has a fastening system that allows for cross-over shoulder harness straps 206 and other components with a hook and loop latch system to be attached and secured to it. There is one middle section support belt 105 that is permanently affixed on the left side of the cradle platform at 112 (i.e., user’s left side).
On the bottom of the distal surface 111 of the cradle platform cover 100 there is a zipper 107 that encloses the mattress 101. The receiving side 109 has sheet fasteners 103 and a cradle platform cover zipper 102 to connect a mattress sheet 300.
Middle section support belt 105 is made from fabric enclosed with foam and webbing inside waist belt with elastic loop to hold excess webbing 211 with a buckle 216 that pairs with female buckle 217 on the right side of the distal surface of the cradle platform 111.
The figures show the security mesh 201. The security mesh 201 is connected all around the edge of the top of the distal surface 111 of the cradle platform cover 100 and fasteners 203 to connect to the two cross-over shoulder harness straps 206. The cross-over shoulder harness straps 206, are connected to the security mesh with fasteners 202. The cross-over shoulder harness straps 206 have a string on each shoulder harness straps next to the magnetic buckle component is used to pull it back to the front when it’s out of user’s reach 106 and have fasteners 212 to hold webbing and shoulder straps together to determine sizing. The cross-over shoulder harness straps 206 are made from fabric with a hook and loop latch material system consisting of loop 213, and hook 214 at the end of the cross-over shoulder harness straps 206. When the hook and loop latch material systems 213, 214 are opened, the user will use to fasten both shoulder straps 206 behind their back to the distal surface 111 and/or bottom surface 110 of the cradle platform cover 100. The end of the cross-over shoulder harness straps 206 have a fabric safe pairing system of hook and loop latch material 213, 214. Each component of the hook and loop latch material system 213,
214 are able to fold on top of each other to close the hook and loop latch material system 213, 214 when not in use. If a larger sized user needs, the user can use the fixed adjuster 220 and webbing 219 that is fixed on the bottom of the top part of the shoulder harness strap and connected with sufficient length webbing 221 at the top of the integrated strap extender of the shoulder harness strap to release-webbing 221 for a more comfortable fit. The security mesh 201 has two accessory snaps 215 to connect accessories such as burpee 301, blanket 302, and light 303. In the center and top of the security mesh 201 there is a string with an adjustable closure toggle 205 to adjust the security mesh’s 201 opening size. The security mesh 201 also has 7 flexible tubing 210 lengths to create a curved tented shape for better visibility and accessibility to the infant.
Example 2
Using Harnessed Frameless Cradle Of The Present Invention
In one embodiment, the cradle platform cover covers a one tier mattress system. The base mattress is a firm foam to create a stable support that can hold an infant’s weight without changing its shape or form. The mattress may be covered with a breathable fabric. The shape of the distal surface is curved in to limit the movement of the infant which prevents rolling too far away from the user’s stomach.
On the top of the cradle platform cover, there are about 2 snaps and a zipper to connect a mattress sheet for the infant to lay on. The mattress sheet with snaps and a zipper, protects the platform cover for hygienic purposes. The sheets are made from fabrics that can be washed and replaced. The middle section support belt is permanently affixed on the left side of the cradle platform (i.e., user’s left side) and the middle section support belt strap wraps around the user’s back-to secure the platform in place surrounding the user’s middle section, e.g., waist. The user fastens the middle section support belt with a reversible buckle and webbing system. The belt strap is made of fabric with a fabric safe buckle and fabric webbing system where the buckle can be affixed to the right surface of the cradle platform paired with other side of buckle after being inserted through a retention loop that retains the reversible fastener of the strap near the matching fastener on the cradle platform loop on the right surface of the cradle platform. A larger sized person can release the sufficient length webbing for a larger fit.
The security mesh panel, in certain embodiments, can act as a barrier to prevent the infant's body from rolling off of the platform. The security mesh may comprise a breathable fabric panel, two female components of side release buckles (e.g., with magnetic engagement), an adjustable closure string ( e.g ., with a locking toggle), structured channels with flexible tubing and accessory snaps positioned on the security mesh below the magnetic buckle component. Connected to the security mesh are two cross-over shoulder harness straps with about 2 pairs of snaps and the male component of the side release buckles above on each strap. The cross-over shoulder harness straps, snapped together, allow the user to hang the system on their body. When not in use, the hook latch material may be folded over the loop latch material on both ends of the shoulder straps, to prevent hook latch material from attaching to the user’s clothing or other hook/loop latch material parts of the harnessed frameless cradle. To use, the user will make sure the buckles and heavy duty snaps are connected properly. The cross-over shoulder harness straps will then be hanging behind the user’s lower back for easy access to grab and connect to the bottom surface and/or the distal surface using a hook latch material. The hook and loop latch material allows the user to easily adjust the placement of shoulder strap ends on the cradle platform cover. A larger sized person can use the fixed adjuster and webbing that is fixed on the bottom of the top part of the shoulder harness strap and connected with sufficient length webbing at the top of the integrated strap extender of the shoulder harness strap to release-webbing for a more comfortable fit.
Once all fasteners are connected, the entire harnessed frameless cradle is secured and ready for the infant to be placed inside. The user will disconnect one buckle on top of the security mesh based on preference, to release the security mesh panel to create an opening to easily place the infant inside. The user will take the infant to a safe setting where the user will be sitting and will place the infant on top of the cradle platform cover. The user may adjust the infant as needed. The user will then reconnect the released buckle and adjust the toggle on the adjustable closure string to loosen or tighten the security mesh. Once the infant is safe and secure, the user can re-adjust components of the system (e.g., heighten one side of the cradle platform if infant is feeding, tilting the distal surface up towards the user’s body if they are walking, being burped etc.)
To move the infant out, the user supports the infant with one hand while the other hand releases one magnetic buckle component fastening the security mesh to the cross-over shoulder harness strap, and loosens the security mesh spring toggle if needed. The user can wear the harnessed frameless cradle while placing the infant in a secure location. To take the harnessed frameless cradle off, the user will reconnect the buckle, disconnect/unfasten the middle section support belt, grasp the part of the security mesh where shoulder straps are connected and pull over the user’s head. This removal process leaves the setup for an easy next use. To keep the harnessed frameless cradle organized, the user will fold over the fabric safe pairing hook/loop latch material on the on the cross-over shoulder harness straps to prevent the hook/loop latch material from attaching to clothing or other hook/loop latch material areas on the harnessed frameless cradle. For the next use, the user will just grasp part of the security mesh where cross-over shoulder harness straps are connected, bring it over their head where the cross-over shoulder harness straps will rest on the user's shoulders, take middle section support belt and place it around the user's middle section and fasten.
The users can attach accessories to accessory snaps or magnets on the security mesh.

Claims

CLAIMS What is claimed is:
1. A harnessed frameless cradle comprising: a cradle platform free of framing walls and shaped to partially surround the middle section of a harnessed user when the cradle platform is positioned in a tray orientation; a cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform wherein said fastened cross-over shoulder harness comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation such that the point of cross-over of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop; and a middle section support belt comprising at least one middle section strap affixed to the side of the cradle platform of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affix to the other side of the cradle platform.
2. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 , wherein the cross-over shoulder harness is fastened to the receiving side of the cradle at the distal side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation.
3. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 , wherein the cross-over shoulder harness comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform.
4. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 3, wherein the cross-over shoulder reversible fastener utilizes a magnetic component for reversible fastening.
5. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 further comprising a security mesh positioned to provide an external safety barrier on the distal side of the receiving side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation.
6. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 6, wherein the security mesh integrates with the cross-over shoulder harness.
7. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 3, wherein the security mesh integrates with the cross-over shoulder harness that comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform, and wherein the security mesh is positioned to provide an external safety barrier on the distal side of the receiving side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation between the reversible fastener and the cradle platform.
8. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 5, wherein the security mesh comprises a stretchy or elastic border material.
9. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 5, wherein the security mesh comprises an adjustable closure.
10. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 5, wherein the security mesh comprises flexible tubing positioned from the distal side of the cradle platform to the upper periphery of the security mesh to create a curved tented shape for better visibility and accessibility to the cradle platform.
11. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 , wherein the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness are interlaced at the point of cross-over of the straps.
12. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 , wherein the middle section support belt comprises one middle section strap permanently affixed to the side of the cradle platform of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affixed to the other side of the cradle platform through a reversible fastener attached to the middle section strap and a matching fastener on the cradle platform.
13. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 12, wherein the middle section strap comprises fabric webbing laced into a reversible buckle, with suitable length to provide variable extension of the length to accommodate larger users.
14. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 , wherein each strap of the cross-over shoulder harness may be reversibly affixed to the side of the cradle platform or the bottom of the cradle platform.
15. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 , wherein the cradle platform comprises a cover made of loop latch material to which hook latch material on the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness is suitable to reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop.
16. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 15, wherein each strap of the cross over shoulder harness may be reversibly affixed to any position on the cover such that the cradle platform may be multi-axially positioned.
17. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 15, wherein the cover is removable.
18. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 , wherein the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness each comprise a top strap fastened at one end to the receiving side of the cradle platform and an integrated strap extender reversibly linked through a fixed adjuster positioned on the cross-over shoulder harness between the point of cross-over and the other end of the top strap and comprising hook latch material suitable to reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop.
19. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 18, further comprising an integrated fabric safe pairing system that pairs the hook latch material with a matching loop latch material to protect fabrics on the user.
20. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 1 , further comprising one or more accessory snaps.
21. The harnessed frameless cradle of claim 20 further comprising one or more accessory items including a snap pair to the accessory snap, wherein the accessory item is selected from the group consisting of a cloth, a pacifier, a bottle, a toy, a flashlight, a pouch, and any combination thereof.
22. A harnessed frameless cradle comprising: a cradle platform free of framing walls and shaped to partially surround the middle section of a harnessed user when the cradle platform is positioned in a tray orientation, wherein the cradle platform comprises a cover made of loop latch material; a cross-over shoulder harness fastened to the receiving side of the cradle platform wherein said fastened cross-over shoulder harness comprises two straps linked in crossed over orientation such that the point of cross-over of the straps would be positioned behind the neck of the harnessed user and the unfastened end of each strap is suitable to wrap around the back and under an arm of said harnessed user and reversibly affix by hook latch material to any position on the cradle platform cover creating a completed support harness loop, and such that the cradle platform may be multi-axially positioned, wherein the cross-over shoulder harness comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform, and wherein the straps of the cross-over shoulder harness are interlaced at the point of cross-over of the straps, and wherein the straps of the cross over shoulder harness each comprise a top strap fastened at one end to the receiving side of the cradle platform and an integrated strap extender reversibly linked through a fixed adjuster positioned on the cross-over shoulder harness between the point of cross-over and the other end of the top strap ( e.g ., through fabric webbing, e.g., laced through the fixed adjuster) and comprising hook latch material suitable to reversibly affix to the cradle platform creating a completed support harness loop, and an integrated fabric safe pairing system that pairs the hook latch material with a matching loop latch material to protect fabrics on the user; a middle section support belt comprising one middle section strap permanently affixed to the side of the cradle platform of sufficient length suitable to wrap around the middle section of the harnessed user and reversibly affix to the other side of the cradle platform through a reversible fastener attached to the middle section strap and a matching fastener on the cradle platform, wherein the middle section strap comprises fabric webbing partially encased in foam padded fabric, and laced into a reversible buckle, with suitable length to provide variable extension of the length to accommodate larger users; and a security mesh that integrates with the cross-over shoulder harness that comprises a reversible fastener positioned on one or two of said straps between the point of cross-over and the receiving side of the cradle platform, and wherein the security mesh is positioned to provide an external safety barrier on the distal side of the receiving side of the cradle platform positioned in the tray orientation between the reversible fastener and the cradle platform, wherein the security mesh is constructed to have openings on at least one side of the cradle platform and an adjustable closure, and wherein the security mesh comprises flexible tubing positioned from the distal side of the cradle platform to the upper periphery of the security mesh to create a curved tented shape for better visibility and accessibility to the cradle platform.
