In this embodiment, a method of knitting a punch lace fabric using a two-bed flat knitting machine will be described. A plurality of compound needles are arranged as knitting needles 1 on a needle bed 2 of the flat knitting machine. A carriage (not shown) that reciprocates on the needle bed is provided with a cam system 10 for advancing and retreating the knitting needle 1 and a plurality of yarn feeders for feeding knitting yarn to the knitting needle 1 . The knitting needle 1 is disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 2917146, the construction of the presser and the needle bed mounted on the cam system 10 and the needle selection mechanism is disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 5057996, and the loop presser 9 for pressing the knitting yarn is disclosed in Japanese Patent No. 4102430. Since a known flat knitting machine equivalent to that disclosed in a publication or the like can be applied, the description thereof is omitted here.
<編針>
<Knitting needle>
A knitting needle 1 is composed of a needle body 3 having a hook 7 at its tip and a slider 5 that moves relative to the needle body 3 to open and close the hook 7 . The needle main body 3 and the slider 5 are each provided with a butt, and the needle main body 3 and the slider 5 move forward and backward with respect to the dental gap under the action of a cam system 10 which will be described later.
<Cam system>
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing a cam system 10 mounted on a carriage. The cam system 10 is configured to perform knitting, tucking, and miss, but in addition, it may be a compound cam system capable of transferring stitches. Also, a plurality of cam systems 10 may be mounted on the carriage. The cam system 10 functions as compound needle control means for controlling the movement of the needle body 3 of the knitting needle 1 and the slider 5 .
FIG. 1 shows the state when the cam system 10 travels leftward to perform knitting. The cam system 10 includes a presser portion 13 that acts on the butt (not shown) of the select jack, a needle body control cam portion 21 that acts on the butt of the needle body 3 of the knitting needle 1, and a slider control cam portion 31 that acts on the butt of the slider 5. have
The presser portion 13 is provided corresponding to the butt of the select jack selected to three positions A, H, and B by a needle selection mechanism (not shown) provided below the presser portion 13 .
A fixed welt presser 15 is provided at the B position, a tuck presser 17 is provided at the H position, and a pair of left and right slider switching pressers 19 are provided at the A position. The tack presser 17 and the slider switching presser 19 can be controlled by an electromagnet and can be switched to an operating position or a non-operating position. As shown in FIG. 1-C of Japanese Patent No. 2917146, the presser presses the butt of the select jack housed in the needle groove to sink it into the needle groove. Therefore, the needle body 3 and the butt of the slider 5, which are housed below the select jack, also sink into the needle groove and are not affected by the cam. As described above, the slider switching presser 19 of this embodiment acts on the butt of the select jack. ), a slider switching presser may be applied to the first butt (auxiliary butt) on the front side to sink the second butt.
The needle body control cam portion 21 is provided above the presser portion 13 . A needle raising cam 23 and a top cam 25 are provided in the center, and stitch cams 27 are provided on both sides of them. The needle raising cam 23 acts as a raising cam that acts on the butt of the needle body 3 to raise it to the knitting position. The dovetail cam 25 pulls down the butt of the needle body 3 and guides it to the following dovetail cam 27 . The slider control cam portion 31 is provided above the needle body control cam portion 21 . A slider raising cam 33 is provided in the center, and slider side raising cams 35 are provided on the left and right sides thereof. The slider side raising cam 35 is provided in the same phase as the slider switching presser 19 in the traveling direction of the carriage. In addition, the slider switching presser 19 is in the operating position only on the trailing side in the carriage advancing direction, and is in the non-operating position on the leading side.
Since the butt of the select jack at the B position is pressed by the welt presser 15 while the carriage is moving, the knitting needle 1 at this position is not affected by the needle raising cam 23 and the slider raising cam 33. does not form (miss).
At the H position, when the tack presser 17 is in the active position, the butts of the needle body 3 and the slider 5 are sunk by the tuck presser 17, so that the needle raising cam 23 disengages from the cam just before the top of the needle raising cam 23 and the slider center. Each bat passes through the route 42 without being affected by the raising cam 33 (tack). When the tack presser 17 is in the inactive position, the butts of the needle body 3 and the slider 5 rise along the slopes of the needle raising cam 23 and the slider center raising cam 33, respectively. After that, the butt of the slider 5 rises under the action of the slider side raising cam 35 and passes through the broken-line route 41 in the figure. The knitting at this time will be described later.
At the A position, when the slider switching presser 19 is at the inoperative position, the bat passes through the same route as at the H position when the tack presser 17 is inoperative. When the slider switching presser 19 on the trailing side is in the operating position at position A, the butts of the needle body 3 and the slider 5 rise along the slopes of the needle raising cam 23 and the slider center raising cam 33, respectively, and then switch the slider. Since the slider 5 receives the pressing action of the presser 19, the butt of the slider 5 goes straight without engaging with the slider side raising cam 35, and receives the action of the slider guide cam 39 and descends. As a result, the needle body 3 and the butt of the slider 5 pass through the route 40 indicated by the solid line (knit).
<Loop presser>
The loop presser 9 is provided on an auxiliary bed (not shown) above the needle bed as described in Japanese Patent No. 4102430, and is moved forward and backward with respect to the tooth gap by a loop presser control cam (not shown) mounted on a carriage. It descends above the mouth and acts to push down the knitting yarn. Although it is possible to provide a loop presser 9 for each of a plurality of knitting needles, it is preferable to provide a loop presser 9 corresponding to each knitting needle so that the pattern portion of the punch lace knitted fabric can be formed with an arbitrary knitting needle. It becomes possible to In other words, there is an advantage that the restrictions on the pattern can be eliminated.
<給糸口>
<Yarn feeder>
A yarn feeder is shown at the top of FIG. The lace yarn feeder 45 is on the leading side of the carriage, and the pattern yarn feeder 47 is on the trailing side. The lace yarn feeder 45 precedes the pattern yarn feeder 47 so that the lace yarn 49 extending to the knitting needle 1 is positioned lower than the pattern yarn 51, and the height of the lace yarn feeder 45 is lowered. is doing. If a height difference can be obtained between the lace yarn 49 and the pattern yarn 51, instead of this configuration, the height of each yarn feeder may be the same if, for example, the lace yarn feeder 45 is advanced farther. Since the lace thread 49 is positioned below the pattern thread 51, the lace thread is sometimes called the bobbin thread and the pattern thread is called the upper thread. If the lace thread 49 is made of a transparent nylon type, a visual effect can be obtained in which the pattern thread portion is raised, but other types of thread may be used.
<Punch lace formation>
A method of knitting a punch lace knitted fabric using a flat knitting machine having such a configuration will be described below. In this embodiment, a case where the knitting needle 1 at the A position passes through the root 40 and the knitting needle 1 at the H position passes through the root 41 will be described as an example. In the course for knitting the punch lace fabric, the knitting needle 1 is selected at the H position in order to knit the base 55 of the knitted fabric with the lace yarn 49, and the knitting needle 1 for knitting the pattern portion 57 is selected at the A position. In the present embodiment, the knitting needle selected at the A position is the pattern knitting needle (hereinafter referred to as knitting needle P), and the knitting needle selected at the H position is referred to as the base knitting needle (hereinafter referred to as knitting needle B). In the cam system 10, the slider switching presser 19 and the tack presser 17 on the leading side are set to the non-operating position, and the slider switching presser 19 on the trailing side is set to the operating position.
First, when the carriage advances leftward with each yarn feeder, both the needle bodies 3 and the sliders 5 of the knitting needles B and P pass through the route 40 and reach the X position. FIG. 2(a) shows the state of the tooth gap at this time. The needle body 3 and the slider 5 are in a state where the hook 7 is opened with a distance between the tip of the hook 7 and the slider 5 due to the difference in the amount of advance by the cam. The lace thread 49 is within the locus of movement of the hook 7 and the pattern thread 51 is above the locus of movement of the hook 7 . The loop presser 9 advances to a position above the pattern yarn 51 .
After the X position, the sliders 5 of the knitting needles B and P take separate routes. At position A, the slider switching presser 19 is set to the active position, so the slider 5 of the knitting needle P passes through the route 40 forming the knit loop without being affected by the slider side raising cam 35 . On the other hand, since there is no presser at the H position, the slider 5 of the knitting needle B is raised to the Y position through the route 41 by the action of the slider side raising cam 35 . FIG. 2(b) shows the state of the needle bed at this time, in which the tip of the slider 5 of the knitting needle B enters between the lace yarn 49 and the pattern yarn 51. As shown in FIG. At this time, the loop presser 9 is lowered to a position where it contacts the pattern yarn 51 . FIG. 2(c) shows the state of the needle bed gap of the knitting needle P at position A, which is substantially the same as in FIG. 2(a).
At the Z position, the slider 5 of the knitting needle B is at almost the same height as the Y position, but the needle body 3 descends along the lower surface of the top 25, so the hook 7 comes into contact with the tip of the slider 5 and closes the hook. . FIG. 2(d) shows the state of the needle bed gap of the knitting needle B at this time. The lace yarn 49 is held in the hook 7, and the loop presser 9 is further lowered to push down the pattern yarn 51. However, since the hook 7 of the knitting needle B is already closed by the slider 5, the hook 7 eats the pattern yarn 51. no. Therefore, the pattern thread 51 is omitted in FIG. 2(d). FIG. 2(e) shows the state of the needle bed gap of the knitting needle P at the Z position. While the slider 5 remains in the state shown in FIG. 2(c), the needle body 3 descends along the lowering surface of the top 25, and the loop presser 9 further descends so that the pattern yarn 51 reaches the forward and backward trajectory of the hook 3 of the knitting needle P. It is pushed down.
Thereafter, the knitting needle P at position A draws in both the lace yarn 49 and the pattern yarn 51 to form a knit loop. On the other hand, the knitting needle B at the H position draws only the lace yarn 49 into the hook 7, and since the pattern yarn 51 is outside the closed hook 7, a knit loop of only the lace yarn 49 is formed, and the pattern yarn 51 becomes a miss. . In the punch lace fabric knitted in this way, the base 55 of the knitted fabric 53 is formed by the lace yarn 49, and the pattern yarn 51 is knitted with the lace yarn 49 aligned only at the portion forming the pattern portion 57. A loop is formed, and the portion other than the handle portion 57 does not form a loop, resulting in a state of being horizontally extended. In this way, when the knitting needle 1 is advanced and retreated within the single cam system 10 to complete the course knitting of the punch lace knitted fabric, and the base 55 and the pattern portion 57 are continuously combined in the course direction to form a plurality of them. can be organized efficiently. Further, when the base 55 and the pattern portion 57 are arranged in combination in the wale direction, various patterns can be formed on the knitted fabric 53.
In the above embodiment, the needle body 3 of the knitting needle 1 and the slider 5 are advanced and retracted by the slider switching presser 19 and the slider side raising cam 35 in the carriage equipped with the cam system 10. Any other configuration may be used as long as it can give the knitting needle 1 the movement necessary for knitting. For example, if the knitting needle 1 itself is provided with a drive mechanism to control the needle body 3 and the slider 5, it is of course possible to use a carriageless flat knitting machine. Further, the yarn feeders 45 and 47 are not limited to those of a type in which the yarn feeders 45 and 47 are moved while being entrained by the carriage. good. To knit a knitted fabric in which the relationship between a lace yarn and a pattern yarn in a punch lace knitted fabric is exchanged by changing the relationship between the yarn feeder on the leading side and the yarn feeder on the trailing side by using the bobbin thread and the yarn feeder on the trailing side as the upper thread. is also possible.

    a step of further advancing only the slider of the base knitting needle by the compound needle control means so that the tip of the slider enters between the lace yarn and the pattern yarn;
    By retracting the needle bodies of the base knitting needle and the pattern knitting needle by a predetermined amount by the compound needle control means, the hook of the base knitting needle is brought into contact with the tip of the slider to close the hook, and the hook of the pattern knitting needle is opened. Let it be maintained,
    Subsequently, a step of further lowering the loop presser to push down the pattern yarn portion extending from the pattern yarn feeder into the advancing and retreating trajectory of the hook of the pattern knitting needle with the hook in the open state;
    Following the above step, the needle bodies of the base knitting needle and the pattern knitting needle are retracted by the compound needle control means, so that the base knitting needle does not pull in the pattern yarn with the hook and makes a mistake, and draws only the lace yarn to form a knit loop. , in the pattern knitting needle, the hook draws in both the lace yarn and the pattern yarn to form a knit loop;
