Abstract

A concave backboard wall or rebound wall for games where the ball bounces off a wall which, due to said concavity, entails a radical change in the dynamics of said games in comparison with flat walls, returning a backhand shot parallel to the forehand shot of the player and a forehand shot parallel to the backhand shot of the player, also returning cross shots to their origin in the same way, thus achieving greater dynamism, the furtherance of the skill of the players, and new applications such as individual training, and the construction thereof being possible in any location with no great investment or large areas of land required. The concave backboard wall (1) is characterised in that, while retaining its vertical nature, it has a concave shape from the point of view of the players; it being possible for the degree of concavity thereof to be variable, depending on the type of game; segments of the wall with different degrees of concavity likewise being possible.

Description

CONCAVE FRONT

The present invention, as expressed in the title of this specification, refers to a concave boulder frontispiece or wall, intended for the confrontation, evaluation, entertainment, improvement and competition of ball or ball sports, in which the wall of rebofe is a fundamental element.

Said concave frontis has been conceived and made to obtain numerous and notable advantages with respect to the usual ones with a plan shape. These advantages, which will be described below, imply an implausible improvement on the current state of the art.

TECHNICAL SECTOR

The field of application of the present invention falls within the sports facilities construction sector, focusing on the field of ball sports in which a rebound wall is used.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Ball games in general have been present in many previous civilizations: Egyptians, Chinese, Greeks, Romans, Phoenicians, Aztecs... All of them had a more or less playful activity that took place around a ball.

Closer references take us to the 13th century in France, where “jeu de palme” was played. In one of its variants and as a fundamental element, the front appears, a flat wall where the players must return the ball in each play. There is documentary evidence of a primitive ball-against-wall game practiced by the Spanish in the American colonies in the 17th century.

These types of games have undergone evolutions depending on the characteristics of the available ball, hitting instrument and other local adaptations.

Thus, the sport of "hitting the ball against the wall" can currently be enjoyed in these modalities: hand ball, fronton paddle, pointed basket, Valencian ball, fronfenis, squash, ping pong...

The rules and dimensions of the playing court are different and as a general rule they are mainly adapted to the speed of the ball after the hit and the elastic properties of the ball and court.

There is a common characteristic to these ball sports and it is that the frontis, the front wall where the players must return the ball in each play, is a vertical and flat surface. In these conditions, a parallel backhand shot is returned by the fronton also backwards, the same happens with drive shots. Likewise, a backhand/cross drive will be returned to the drive/backhand hit.

The use of frontis or concave rebound wall represents an innovation in this type of ball games, providing a radical alteration in the dynamics of the games in question, because by having a non-flat wall, concave with respect to the position of the players, a backhand down the line shot would be returned down the fronton to the player's drive. In the same way a down the line drive would go backwards and the cross shots return to their origin.

EXPLANATION OF THE INVENTION

This invention is presented as a new game system for sports with balls and wall rebounds, which can be built or assembled in any location (lower, outside), without the need for large investments or the availability of large areas of land, with a simple construction or assembly, a multipurpose game track, which is used both for leisure, as for confrontation, improvement or competition.

The innovative part of the invention is:

Frontis or concave rebound wall

The proposed front is vertical and with a concave curve in plan from the players' point of view, and may be pure concave (figures 1 and 2), concave-flat (figures 3 and 4) or with variable concavity (figures 5 and or). .

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

In view of the aforementioned figures, and according to the numbering adopted, a non-limiting example of the sports court system with a concave front for ball games, object of the present invention, can be observed.

Since the concave frontis can be used in various sports, the realization in terms of the degree of concavity and dimensions of the court must be adapted to the game in question.

The individual use will be made preferably for confrontation or improvement.

Claims

1. CONCAVE FRONT, characterized by having a rebound front wall or front for ball games that, while maintaining verticality, is concave from the point of view of the players

2. CONCAVE FRONTS, according to claim 1, characterized by fronts for ball games with a variable degree of concavity towards the players depending on the type of game.

3. CONCAVE FRONT, according to claim 1, characterized by preferably concave front where the different segments of the wall can have different degrees of concavity.
