Abstract
본 발명은 액체질소를 이용하는 이중격납을 포함하는 일체형원자로 시스템에 관한 것으로, 원자로 용기; 상기 원자로 용기 내에 위치하는 노심; 상기 원자로 용기의 내에 위치하며 상기 노심의 상부에 위치하는 증기발생기; 제1공간을 사이에 두고 상기 원자로 용기를 둘러싸는 제1격납용기; 제2공간을 사이에 두고 상기 제1격납용기를 둘러싸는 제2격납용기; 및 상기 제2공간에 액체질소를 공급하는 액체질소공급부를 포함한다.
Description
본 발명은 액체질소를 이용하는 이중격납을 포함하는 일체형원자로 시스템에 관한 것이다.
원자로 용기 내에 노심과 증기발생기가 위치하고 있는 일체형 반응기 또는 SMR(small modular reactor)가 많이 연구되고 있다.
일체형 반응기에서는 반응기 내부에 수증기를 가압하는 가압영역이 위치하고 있다. 반응기 내에 비정상 과도상태 발생 등에 따른 이상 고온으로 수증기가 과열되면 이상 과압이 발생하여 원자로 용기의 폭발 등 사고가 발생할 수 있다.
사고발생 방지 및 방사성물질의 외부환경으로의 유출방지를 위해서는 원자로 용기 내에서 과열된 수증기를 효율적으로 냉각시켜야 한다.
따라서 본 발명의 목적은 액체질소를 이용하는 이중격납을 포함하는 일체형원자로 시스템을 제공하는 것이다.
상기 본 발명의 목적은 액체질소를 이용하는 이중격납을 포함하는 일체형원자로 시스템에 있어서, 원자로 용기; 상기 원자로 용기 내에 위치하는 노심; 상기 원자로 용기의 내에 위치하며 상기 노심의 상부에 위치하는 증기발생기; 제1공간을 사이에 두고 상기 원자로 용기를 둘러싸는 제1격납용기; 제2공간을 사이에 두고 상기 제1격납용기를 둘러싸는 제2격납용기; 및 상기 제2공간에 액체질소를 공급하는 액체질소공급부를 포함하는 것에 의해 달성된다.
상기 제1격납용기와 상기 제2격납용기는 강재로 이루어질 수 있다.
상기 원자로 용기의 내부의 상부부분은 수증기가 가압되는 가압영역을 형성하며, 상기 원자로 용기는, 상기 가압영역과 상기 제1공간을 연결하며 상기 가압영역의 수증기를 상기 제1공간으로 배출하는 압력배출밸브; 및 상기 압력배출밸브보다 하부에 위치하며, 상기 제1공간에서 응축된 냉각수를 상기 원자로 용기 내부로 회수하는 재순환밸브를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 액체질소 공급부는, 상기 제2격납용기의 외부에 위치하는 액체질소 공급유닛; 상기 액체질소 공급유닛과 상기 제2공간을 연결하는 연결유닛; 및 상기 제2격납용기의 상부에 연결되어 있으며 상기 제2공간의 액체질소를 외부에 배출하는 배출밸브를 포함할 수 있다.
상기 제1공간은 진공이거나 질소로 채워져 있을 수 있다.
본 발명에 따르면 액체질소를 이용하는 이중격납을 포함하는 일체형원자로 시스템이 제공된다.

이하 도면을 참조하여 본 발명을 더욱 상세히 설명한다.
첨부된 도면은 본 발명의 기술적 사상을 더욱 구체적으로 설명하기 위하여 도시한 일 예에 불과하므로 본 발명의 사상이 첨부된 도면에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 또한 첨부된 도면은 각 구성요소 간의 관계를 설명하기 위해 크기와 간격 등이 실제와 달리 과장되어 있을 수 있다.
도 1은 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 일체형 원자로 시스템을 나타낸 것이다.
일체형 원자로 시스템(1)은 원자로 용기(20), 제1격납용기(30), 제2격납용기(40) 및 액체질소 공급부(50)를 포함한다.
원자로 용기(20)의 내부에는 노심(11), 증기발생기(12) 및 가압영역(13)이 위치한다.
노심(11)은 원자로 용기(20)의 하부에 위치하며, 가압영역(13)은 원자로 용기(20)의 상부에 위치한다. 증기발생기(12)는 노심(11)과 가압영역(13)의 사이에 위치한다.
본 실시예에서는 증기발생기(12)에서 발생한 증기를 외부로 이동시키는 구성이나 증기발생기(12)의 냉각장치 등은 도시하지 않았다.
냉각수는 원자로 용기(20) 내부에서 순환하며, 노심(11)을 냉각시킨다. 가압영역(13)에서는 발생한 수증기가 가압된다.
원자로 용기(20)에는 압력배출밸브(21)와 재순환밸브(22)가 마련되어 있다.
압력배출밸브(21)는 원자로 용기(20)의 상부에 위치하며, 필요시 가압영역(13)의 수증기를 외부로 배출한다.
재순환밸브(22)는 압력배출밸브(21)보다 하부에 위치하며, 원자로 용기(20)의 측면에 위치한다. 재순환밸브(22)를 통해 수증기가 응축된 응축수가 다시 원자로 용기(20) 내부로 공급된다.
제1격납용기(30)는 제1공간을 사이에 두고 원자로 용기(20)를 둘러싼다. 제2격납용기(40)는 제2공간을 사이에 두고 제1격납용기(30)를 둘러싼다. 제1격납용기(30)와 제2격납용기(40)는 스틸로 마련될 수 있으며, 구체적으로는 제1격납용기(30)는 스테인리스 스틸로 마련되고 제2격납용기(40)는 카본 스틸로 마련될 수 있다.
제1공간은 진공이거나 공기 또는 질소로 채워져 있을 수 있다. 도시하지는 않았지만, 진공을 유지하기 위한 진공펌프 등의 수단 또는 공기(또는 질소)를 공급하기 위한 펌프나 탱크 등을 더 포함할 수 있다.
제1공간이 진공이거나 질소로 채워진 경우, 노심손상 시 원자로 용기(20) 내부에서 발생한 수소가 제1공간에 공급되어도 제1공간에 산소가 없기 때문에 수소의 폭발가능성을 차단할 수 있다.
액체질소공급부(50)는 제2공간에 액체질소를 공급한다. 액체질소공급부(50)는 외부에 마련되어 있는 액체질소 공급유닛(51), 액체질소 공급유닛(51)과 제2공간을 연결하는 연결유닛(52) 및 제2격납용기(40)의 상부에 연결되어 있으며 제2공간의 질소혼합물을 외부에 배출하는 배출밸브(53)를 포함한다.
연결유닛(52)에는 밸브가 마련되어 있다.
도시하지는 않았지만 밸브(21, 22, 52, 53) 등의 개폐를 제어하는 제어부를 더 포함할 수 있다. 또한 액체질소 공급유닛(51)은 복수개로 마련되며, 병렬로 연결될 수 있다.
다른 실시예에서는 일체형 원자로 시스템(1)이 복수개로 마련될 수 있으며, 액체질소는 공통의 공급유닛을 통해 공급받을 수도 있다.
이상과 같이 액체질소공급부(50)는 개회로로 마련되어 있으나, 다른 실시예에서는 폐회로로 마련될 수도 있다.
이하 도 2를 참조하여 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 일체형 원자로 시스템의 작동을 설명한다.
사고 등의 이유로 가압공간 내에 수증기가 이상 과열되면 압력배출밸브(21)가 열리면서 수증기가 제1공간으로 배출된다. 압력배출밸브(21)의 개방은 일정 압력, 예를 들어, 2,500psig정도의 내부 압력이 발생하면 이루어질 수 있다.
제2공간은 평상시에는 공급된 액체질소가 기화된 기체 질소로 채워져 있을 수 있다. 이를 통해 정상운전시 노심(11)에서 발생한 열이 제1격납용기(30)로 전달되어 손실되는 것을 감소시킬 수 있다.
이상징후가 발생할 경우(가압공간 내에 수증이 이상 과열 또는 반응로 내부의 압력 및 노심온도 등이 이상 상승 시) 제2공간에 액체질소를 공급함으로써 점진적으로 제2공간을 모두 액체질소로 채운다.
제2공간의 액체질소에 의해 제1격납용기(30)는 낮은 온도로 냉각된다.
제1공간으로 배출된 수증기는 제1격납용기(30)의 내면과 접촉하여 급속히 냉각되어 냉각수로 응축된다.
전환된 냉각수는 자중에 의해 하부로 이동하고, 재순환밸브(22)를 통해 원자로 용기(10) 내부로 다시 공급된다. 공급된 냉각수에 의해 원자로 용기(10)의 내부에 위치한 냉각수의 온도가 내려간다. 이와 같은 냉각-재가열-증기화-방출-냉각을 반복하는 순환유로를 통해 노심용융을 방지하면서 원자로를 안전하게 정지시키거나 지속적인 장기 냉각을 수행할 수 있다.
재순환밸브(22)는 개폐 제어로 작동된다. 예를 들어, 압력배출밸브(21) 의 열림 신호에 연동하여 시간 간격을 두고 자동 또는 수동으로 열리도록 구성할 수 있다.
제1격납용기(30)의 내면에서의 열교환에 의해 제2공간의 액체질소는 온도가 상승하고 일부가 기화된다. 기화된 액체질소는 배출밸브(53)를 통해 외부로 배출된다. 부족해진 액체질소는 액체질소 공급유닛(51)으로부터 공급받는다. 액체질소는 이상과 같은 개회로 형태로 보충 및 배출된다.
배출밸브(53)는 피동적으로 구동되거나, 제2공간의 온도 측정 결과 등을 기초로 개폐가 제어될 수 있다.
이상의 본 발명에 따르면 일체형 원자로를 안정적이며 효율적으로 냉각시킬 수 있으며, 수조 내 물을 냉각재로 사용하는 경우에 비하여 제2격납용기내 액체질소를 냉각재로 사용함으로써 훨씬 적은 양으로 더 빠른 냉각이 가능하여 사고 시 긴밀한 대처가 가능하다. 또한 제1격납용기(30) 및 제2격납용기(40)의 이중격납으로 이루어져 사고시 방사선물질의 이중 차단이 가능하다.
전술한 실시예들은 본 발명을 설명하기 위한 예시로서, 본 발명이 이에 한정되는 것은 아니다. 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 이로부터 다양하게 변형하여 본 발명을 실시하는 것이 가능할 것이므로, 본 발명의 기술적 보호범위는 첨부된 특허청구범위에 의해 정해져야 할 것이다.

- 액체질소를 이용하는 이중격납을 포함하는 일체형원자로 시스템에 있어서,원자로 용기;상기 원자로 용기 내에 위치하는 노심;상기 원자로 용기의 내에 위치하며 상기 노심의 상부에 위치하는 증기발생기;제1공간을 사이에 두고 상기 원자로 용기를 둘러싸는 제1격납용기;제2공간을 사이에 두고 상기 제1격납용기를 둘러싸는 제2격납용기; 및상기 제2공간에 액체질소를 공급하는 액체질소공급부를 포함하는 일체형 원자로 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 제1격납용기와 상기 제2격납용기는 강재로 이루어진 압력용기인 일체형 원자로 시스템.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 원자로 용기의 내부의 상부부분은 수증기가 가압되는 가압영역을 형성하며,상기 원자로 용기는,상기 가압영역과 상기 제1공간을 연결하며 상기 가압영역의 수증기를 상기 제1공간으로 배출하는 압력배출밸브; 및상기 압력배출밸브보다 하부에 위치하며, 상기 제1공간에서 응축된 냉각수를 상기 원자로 용기 내부로 회수하는 재순환밸브를 포함하는 일체형 원자로 시스템.
- 제1항에서,상기 액체질소 공급부는,상기 제2격납용기의 외부에 위치하는 액체질소 공급유닛;상기 액체질소 공급유닛과 상기 제2공간을 연결하는 연결유닛; 및상기 제2격납용기의 상부에 연결되어 있으며 상기 제2공간의 액체질소를 외부에 배출하는 배출밸브를 포함하는 일체형 원자로 시스템.
- 제1항에서,상기 제1공간은 진공이거나 질소로 채워져 있는 일체형 원자로 시스템.
