By the way, in the above-described conventional saddle-riding type vehicle, running wind flows rearward along the front cover and the upper cover. It is desirable that such traveling wind does not hit the occupant strongly.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a saddle-riding vehicle having a front cover and an upper cover, which can reduce the traveling wind flowing toward the occupant.

A straddle-type vehicle includes a front cover that covers the vehicle body from the front above the front wheels, and an upper cover that covers the steering wheel from the front above the front cover. The front surface slopes upward to the rear, and when viewed from the side of the vehicle, the front edge of the front surface of the upper cover is located behind a line extending rearward and upward along the rear edge portion of the front surface of the front cover. do.
According to this configuration, part of the running wind that flows rearward and upward from the rear edge along the front surface of the front cover flows rearward and upward along the front surface of the upper cover from the front edge of the upper cover. It can escape upwards efficiently. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the running wind that flows toward the passenger.
Further, in the above-described configuration, the front surface of the upper cover may be provided with a recess recessed downward, and the bottom surface of the recess may be positioned on an extension line when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
According to this configuration, the running wind that flows rearward and upward from the front cover along the extension line can be smoothly flowed along the bottom surface of the recess. In addition, since the running wind gathers in the concave portion and flows rearward and upward, it is possible to create a flow of running wind directed rearward and upward.
Further, in the above-described configuration, the front surface of the upper cover may be provided with a convex portion that protrudes upward, and the convex portion may protrude forward with respect to the extension line when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
According to this configuration, the traveling wind flows upward by hitting the projection projecting forward with respect to the extension line. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the running wind that flows toward the passenger.
Furthermore, in the above configuration, the front edge, the concave portion, and the convex portion may be arranged in order from the vehicle front side.
According to this configuration, the running wind flowing from the front edge along the front surface of the upper cover gathers in the concave portion and then hits the convex portion and flows upward. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the running wind that flows toward the passenger.
Further, in the above configuration, the upper cover rotates left and right together with the handle, the upper cover has an upper cover lower surface portion extending rearward from the front edge, and the front cover is positioned below the upper cover lower surface portion. An upper surface portion may be provided rearwardly and downwardly of the rear edge portion, and a gap may be formed between the lower surface portion and the upper surface portion of the upper cover.
According to this configuration, a gap can be secured between the left and right rotating upper cover and the upper surface of the front cover, so that the upper cover can be easily rotated.
Further, in the above-described configuration, the rear edge portion of the front cover may be convexly curved forward such that the center portion in the vehicle width direction is positioned furthest forward in a top view.
With this configuration, a large space can be secured between the upper cover that rotates left and right and the rear edge of the front cover, so that the upper cover can be easily rotated.
Further, in the above configuration, the front surface of the upper cover may have a portion behind the front edge that protrudes forward with respect to the extension line when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
According to this configuration, running wind flows upward by hitting the portion projecting forward with respect to the extension line behind the front edge. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the running wind that flows toward the passenger.

The upper cover 31 is arranged behind and above the front surface 40 of the front cover 30 . The upper cover 31 is arranged behind the rear edge portion 40 a of the front surface 40 of the front cover 30 .
A front edge 47 a of the upper cover front surface 47 is arranged rearward with respect to a rear edge portion 40 a of the front surface 40 of the front cover 30 .
A central portion of the front edge 47a in the vehicle width direction protrudes in a triangular shape in a plan view (top view) so that the width becomes narrower toward the front of the vehicle.

The recessed portion 50 is a portion in which a part of the upper cover front surface 47 is recessed in a triangular shape in front view and plan view of the vehicle. The concave portion 50 is arranged such that one vertex of the triangle is oriented forward of the vehicle.
The recessed portion 50 has a bottom surface 50 a that constitutes the bottom surface of the recessed portion 50 . The bottom surface 50a is triangular. The recessed portion 50 also includes a pair of side wall portions 50b extending upward from left and right side edges of the bottom surface 50a, and a rear wall portion 50c extending upward from the rear edge of the bottom surface 50a.
The interval between the left and right side wall portions 50b increases toward the rear side.
In the present embodiment, the recess 50 has a triangular shape, but the recess 50 is not limited to this, and may have, for example, a trapezoid whose width increases toward the rear side of the vehicle.
The convex portion 51 is a portion where the rear portion of the upper cover front surface 47 bulges upward. The convex portion 51 extends in the vehicle width direction behind the concave portion 50 .
The protrusion 51 protrudes upward with respect to the recess 50 . The convex portion 51 includes a front wall portion 51a facing forward of the vehicle and an upper wall portion 51b extending rearward from an upper edge of the front wall portion 51a.
The concave portion 50 and the convex portion 51 are continuous in the front-rear direction, and the rear wall portion 50 c of the concave portion 50 is the front wall portion 51 a of the convex portion 51 .
2 to 5 show an extension line L extending rearward and upward along the rear edge portion 40a of the front surface 40 of the front cover 30. As shown in FIG. The extension line L is an imaginary straight line extending rearward and upward from the rear edge portion 40a at the central portion in the vehicle width direction.
2 to 5, the front edge 47a of the upper cover front surface 47 is located behind the extension line L when viewed from the side of the vehicle (FIG. 2). Further, the front edge 47 a is located forward of the rear edge 41 a of the upper surface portion 41 of the front cover 30 when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
The front edge 47 a is positioned at substantially the same height as the rear edge portion 40 a of the front surface 40 of the front cover 30 .
The front edge 47a, the concave portion 50, and the convex portion 51 overlap the extension line L in plan view in FIG.
A bottom surface 50a of the recessed portion 50 is an inclined surface that is inclined upwardly rearward when viewed from the side of the vehicle. The bottom surface 50a is positioned on the extension line L when viewed from the side of the vehicle. The bottom surface 50a overlaps the extension line L and is substantially parallel to the extension line L when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
The convex portion 51 protrudes forward and upward with respect to the extension line L when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
A front wall portion 51a of the convex portion 51 protrudes upward with respect to the extension line L. As shown in FIG.
The extension line L intersects the lower portion of the front wall portion 51a.
The front wall portion 51a is an inclined surface that is inclined rearwardly upward when viewed from the side of the vehicle. The slope of the front wall portion 51 a is closer to vertical than the slope of the bottom surface 50 a of the recess 50 .
On the front side of the front cover 30 , the running wind W caused by running of the motorcycle 1 flows rearward and upward along the front surface 40 .
A portion of the running wind W flowing along the front surface 40 flows rearward and upward along the extension line L from the rear edge portion 40 a of the front surface 40 , and then flows rearward and upward along the upper cover front surface 47 .
Specifically, the running wind W passes through the front edge 47 a of the upper cover front surface 47 slightly forward, hits the lower portion of the upper cover front surface 47 , and then flows inside the recess 50 . Since the front edge 47a is located behind the extension line L, the running wind W easily hits the front surface 47 of the upper cover. For example, when the front edge 47a is located forward of the extension line L, the running wind W along the extension line L tends to flow toward the upper cover lower surface portion 48 side, but hardly flows toward the upper cover front surface 47 side.
In the recessed portion 50, the running wind W is guided in the vehicle width direction by the left and right side wall portions 50b of the recessed portion 50 and flows rearward and upward along the bottom surface 50a. The traveling wind W flows between the left and right side wall portions 50b, so that directivity in the rearward upper direction becomes stronger.
The running wind W flowing through the concave portion 50 hits the front wall portion 51a of the convex portion 51 and flows rearward and upward along the front wall portion 51a. Since the slope of the front wall portion 51a is closer to the vertical than the slope of the bottom surface 50a, the running wind W is strongly directed upward.
Thus, in the motorcycle 1, the running wind W flowing along the front face 40 of the front cover 30 is efficiently applied to the upper cover front face 47, and the running wind W can be escaped rearward and upward by the upper cover front face 47. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the amount of running wind W that flows toward the passenger seated on the seat 13 behind the upper cover 31 .
The upper cover 31 is attached to the steering wheel 20, and rotates left and right together with the steering wheel 20 when the steering wheel 20 is steered.
A front edge 47 a of the upper cover front surface 47 is spaced rearward from the rear edge portion 40 a of the front cover 30 . A gap 52 is vertically provided between the upper cover lower surface portion 48 extending rearward from the front edge 47 a and the upper surface portion 41 of the front cover 30 . Therefore, when the upper cover 31 rotates left and right, a large space can be secured between the rear edge portion 40a of the front cover 30 and the upper cover 31, and the upper cover 31 can be easily rotated.
The upper surface portion 41 is provided over substantially the same range as the rear edge portion 40a in the vehicle width direction.
As shown in FIG. 3, when viewed from the top, the rear edge portion 40a of the front cover 30 is curved forward so that the central portion of the rear edge portion 40a in the vehicle width direction is positioned furthest forward. Therefore, a large clearance can be secured between the front edge 47a of the upper cover 31 and the rear edge 40a of the front cover 30, and the upper cover 31 can be easily rotated.
As described above, according to the embodiment to which the present invention is applied, the motorcycle 1 includes the front cover 30 covering the body frame 10 from the front above the front wheels 2 and the steering wheel above the front cover 30. The front surface 40 of the front cover 30 and the upper cover front surface 47, which is the front surface of the upper cover 31, are inclined rearwardly upward when viewed from the side of the vehicle. The front edge 47a of the front cover 30 is positioned rearward of an extension line L that extends rearward and upward along the rear edge portion 40a of the front surface 40 of the front cover 30 .
According to this configuration, part of the running wind W flowing rearwardly upward from the rear edge portion 40a along the front surface 40 of the front cover 30 flows rearwardly upward from the front edge 47a of the upper cover 31 along the upper cover front surface 47. Since it flows, the running wind W can be efficiently released upward. Therefore, the running wind W flowing toward the passenger can be reduced.
Further, the upper cover front surface 47 is provided with a recessed portion 50 that is recessed downward, and the bottom surface 50a of the recessed portion 50 is positioned on the extension line L when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
According to this configuration, the running wind W flowing rearward and upward from the front cover 30 along the extension line L can be smoothly flowed along the bottom surface 50 a of the recess 50 . In addition, since the running wind W gathers in the concave portion 50 and flows rearwardly upward, the directionality of the running wind W in the rearwardly upward direction can be strengthened.
Further, the upper cover front surface 47 has a convex portion 51 that protrudes upward, and the convex portion 51 protrudes forward with respect to the extension line L when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
According to this configuration, the running wind W hits the convex portion 51 projecting forward with respect to the extension line L, and flows upward. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the running wind that flows toward the passenger.
Furthermore, the front edge 47a, the concave portion 50, and the convex portion 51 are arranged in this order from the front side of the vehicle.
According to this configuration, the running wind W flowing from the front edge 47a along the upper cover front surface 47 gathers in the concave portion 50 and then hits the convex portion 51 and flows upward. Therefore, the running wind W flowing toward the passenger can be reduced.
The upper cover 31 rotates left and right integrally with the handle 20. The upper cover 31 has an upper cover lower surface portion 48 extending rearward from the front edge 47a. A gap 52 is formed between the lower surface portion 48 and the upper surface portion 41 of the upper cover.
According to this configuration, the gap 52 can be secured between the upper cover 31 that rotates left and right and the upper surface portion 41 of the front cover 30, so that the upper cover 31 can be easily rotated.
Further, when viewed from the top, the rear edge portion 40a of the front cover 30 is curved forward so that the central portion in the vehicle width direction is positioned furthest forward.
With this configuration, a large space can be secured between the upper cover 31 that rotates left and right and the rear edge portion 40a of the front cover 30, so that the upper cover 31 can be easily rotated.
Further, the upper cover front surface 47 has a convex portion 51 as a portion projecting forward with respect to the extension line L in a side view of the vehicle behind the front edge 47a.
According to this configuration, the running wind W flows upward by hitting the convex portion 51 projecting forward with respect to the extension line L behind the front edge 47a. Therefore, the running wind W flowing toward the passenger can be reduced.
