Description
GAS PROPELLANT TOP BEAM STRUCTURE IN PRESS BRAKES
Field of the Invention
The invention relates to press brakes that bend sheet plates with different thicknesses and materials by applying a pressing force.
The invention particularly relates to the top beam structure, which is moved by the beltpulley mechanism in press brakes and the repelling force is provided by the gas propellant.
State of the Art
Press brake is a sheet metal shaping bench that bends the sheet metal raw material to the desired form. Said sheet metals are shaped in the benches of press brakes by pressing the same between two molds.
In the state of the art, the press is applied to sheet plates required to be shaped by means of the top beam. After the top beam that is moved by the belt-pulley mechanism in the state of the art, presses the sheet in electric press brakes, it takes some energy during start from the springs that are mounted on the body sides. On one hand the top beam moves downwardly so as to press onto the sheet, on the other hand the body compresses the springs on the sides thereof and uses the energy compressed within the springs during its rise. Where springs are used on the sides of the body in the current situations so as to push the top beam, difficulties in assembly are experienced since the first force must be given to the spring for spring assembly. Disadvantages such as strength loss in springs over time due to material fatigue and need for replacement can be seen. At the same time disadvantages such as breaking of the springs connected in series and parallel to each other when they cannot perform the force transmission properly and using more elements so as to meet the required force when the spring is used can also be encountered. Also, mechanical springs cannot be able to return to their original form immediately due to the accumulated energy thereon and in the meantime they form vibration. This vibration is reflected as high sound when the machine is in operation and vibration in the construction. It may damage the connections in the construction in long-term use.
As a result of the research carried out in literature, a document numbered US10350662B2 which is not similar with the inventive subject but serves for the same technical field is found. The current document relates to a press brake and a method of forming a workpiece. However in the relevant document, any gas propellant structure which will facilitate the operation of the top beam structure and will provide repelling force is not mentioned.
As a result due to the abovementioned disadvantages and the insufficiency of the current solutions regarding the subject matter, a development is required to be made in the relevant technical field.
Aim of the Invention
The invention aims to solve the abovementioned disadvantages by being inspired from the current conditions.
The main aim of the invention is to provide a press brake with an top beam in which the repelling force is used with the gas propellant without using a spring mechanism.
Another aim of the invention is to eliminate the need for preloading by means of gas propellants. Thus, difficulties that occur during the assembly are eliminated.
Another aim of the invention is to provide a structure that allows reuse and saving by means of repairing the gas propellants.
Another aim of the invention is to provide a structure in which the vibrations that occur in the construction are eliminated and thus a quieter operation of the same is provided by means of the gas propellants.
In order to fulfill the aims mentioned above, the present invention is a press brake which involves the top beam that applies pressure to the sheet material required to be bent, belt-pulley that moves the top beam up and down and a body to which the top beam is connected, characterized in that; it comprises at least one gas propellant configured on the body that provides the top beam to store energy in its downward movement and to be pushed upwards with this stored energy in its upward movement.
The structural and characteristic features of the present invention will be understood clearly by the following drawings and the detailed description made with reference to
these drawings and therefore the evaluation shall be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the inventive structure of gas propellant top beam in bending is described by means of examples only for clarifying the subject matter.
The subject of the invention relates to the novelty realized in the part where the part to be bent is positioned in press brakes. The inventive subject comprising; an top beam (10) that applies pressure to the sheet material required to be bent, a belt-pulley (11) that moves the top beam (10) up and down and a body (12) to which the top beam is connected. The invention also comprises at least one gas propellant (13) configured on the body (12) that provides the top beam (10) to store energy in its downward movement and to be pushed upwards with this stored energy in its upward movement.
The top beam (10) structure having the inventive gas propellant (13) shown in Figure 1 eliminates the usage of spring and provides a secure, silent and easy assembly unlike the state of the art (Figure 2). Gas propellants (13) store energy in the downward movement of the top beam and serve for pushing this stored energy by means of transmitting the same to the top beam in its upward movement.
The operating principle of the inventive structure is as follows; the sheet desired to be bent is positioned between the bottom beam (20) and the top beam (10). The bottom beam (20) is fixed and includes a lower mold mounted thereto. While the pulley-belts (11 ) rotate, the top beam (10) moves downwards by means of the disintegrated belts. At this time, energy accumulates in the gas propellants (13) that are found on the sides of the body. After the top beam (10) that performs the bending process, raises up with the help of the accumulated energy in the belts wrapped around pulleys and in the gas propellant (13). Also, the gas propellant (13), which is connected to the top beam (10), acts as a safety element with the reverse resistance of the gas therein for dangerous situations such as rupture of the belt and immediate fall of the jaw.
