  • At least one piston (3) with preferably an elliptical pushing member (31) which enables to push the drug within the chamber (21) so as to be taken out from the orifice (22); at least one handle (32) which starts from one edge of an end of the pushing member (31) distal to the orifice (22) and extends on the chamber (21) so as to cover the chamber (21) partially; at least one lug (33) which is preferably located at the end of the handle (32) and configured to stop movement of the handle (32) at a certain point, to support the handle (32), to reduce friction between the body (2) and the handle (32); at least one second notch (34) which is located on the handle (32); at least one seal housing (35) which is located on the inner surface of the pushing member (31) proximal to the orifice (22); and at least one seal (36) which is inserted into the seal housing (35) and has a structure extending into the orifice (22); and

  • the retaining member (24) is a protrusion in accordance with the form of the chamber (21) which is created by positive extrusion on the outer part of the open end of the chamber (21), in a certain thickness and width.
  • the retaining member (24) is a protrusion in accordance with the form of the chamber (21) which is created by positive extrusion on the inner part of the open end of the chamber (21), in a certain thickness and width.
  • the retaining member (24) prevents the chamber (21) from detaching from the pushing member (31) of the chamber (21) moving back and forth on the pushing member (31) during injection upon being inserted into the lug (33).
  • the support member (25) included in the body (2) is a structure in a protrusion form created by positive extrusion on the lower and upper surfaces of the orifice (22); and it enables to create a soft contact surface on the orifice (22).
  • the support member (25) is only provided only on the lower and upper surfaces of the orifice (22) and ensures that a contacted tissue is not damaged by complying with the anatomy of related areas during drug administrations to be performed labially, sublingually or into the cheek without the need to carry out any extrusion process on the side surfaces and to have loss of raw material for extrusion.
  • the body (2) is a structure made of a one-piece, transparent/coloured/UV-protected and medically compatible plastic comprising the chamber (21), the orifice (22), the first notch (23), the retaining member (24) and the support member (25).
  • the pushing member (31) included in the piston (3) in the inventive pediatric oral injector (1) is a hollow and almost elliptical structure which is provided in a diameter so as to be able to enter the orifice (22) from the open end of the chamber (21) by means of the seal (36) located on one end thereof, and the other end of which is open.
  • the pushing member (31) has any of cylindrical, triangular, quadrangular, polygonal or amorphous form.
  • the pushing member (31) ensures that drug is filled into the chamber (21) by moving back and forth inside the chamber (21) and the drug is injected to the patient.
  • the handle (32) has a form rotating onto the chamber (21) from part of an open end of the pushing member (31) and extending so as to cover the chamber (21) partially.
  • the handle (32) enables the pushing member (31) move back and forth precisely inside the chamber (21), upon being gripped by the thumb.
  • the handle (32) enables to perform controlled inaction with the lug (33).
  • the lug (33) is a structure which is located on the end of the handle (32) extending onto the chamber (21) and provided on the side of the handle (32) facing the chamber (21).
  • the lug (33) is a structure which is located on the side of the pushing member (31) facing the chamber (21) on the end thereof close to the orifice (22).
  • the lug (33) has a stopping configuration that prevents the chamber (21) moving back and forth on the pushing member (31) from detaching from the pushing member (31) entirely.

  • the second notch (34) is a structure which have recesses and protrusions that prevent the finger of the user -who will perform drug injection with one hand- whereby s/he performs the gripping with his/her thumb, from slipping; enhance the gripping/contact surface; and is created by negative and positive extrusion in accordance with the thumb ergonomics; and it enables to perform the gripping precisely.
  • the seal housing (35) is a structure which is in a protrusion form located on the inner part of the end of the pushing member (31) entering the chamber (21). The seal housing (35) is configured to ensure that the seal (36) is inserted into the part of the pushing member (31) close to the orifice (22).
  • the seal (36) has a recess in order to be fitted into the protrusion in the seal housing (35); has a structure that has a section having almost the same diameter with the pushing member (31) on the part wherein no recess is included and an extension that extends so as to enter the orifice (22) at the centre thereof by narrowing from the section having almost the same diameter with the pushing member (31).
  • the seal (36) proceeds inside the chamber (21) during the progress movement of the pushing member (31) towards the orifice (22) and enters towards the orifice (22) by means of its structure in an extension form.
  • the seal (36) has an elastic structure.
  • the seal (36) has a piece (P) almost in the same diameter with the pushing member (31) following its part inserted into the pushing member (31) for the purpose of reading of the drug dose taken into the chamber (21).
  • the piston (3) has a structure made of a matte/transparent and medically-compatible plastic comprising the pushing member (31), the handle (32), the lug (33), the second notch (34), the seal housing (35) and the seal (36).
  • the cover (4) included in the inventive pediatric oral injector (1) is configured to prevent the orifice (22) that is included in the body (2), from being contaminated by air and contact within the period of time elapsing from the preparation of the drug into the oral injector and until its application to the patient.
  • the cover (4) has a shape that take the orifice (22) into thereof by enclosing it, and is in compatible with the preferred shape of the orifice (22).
  • the cover (4) at the end of the orifice (22) is removed while the body (2) is inserted into the piston (3) entirely at first in case of drug administration to a patient by oral route, and then the orifice (22) is immersed into the drug container. Thereafter, the person who will perform the injection positions the index finger of his/her hand onto the first notches (23) on the chamber (21) and his/her thumb onto the second notches (34) on the handle (32) and grips it. Then, negative pressure is generated inside the chamber (21) by moving the pushing member (31) in a direction such that its orifice (22) will move out from the chamber (21) that is immersed into the liquid drug. With the negative pressure generated, filling of a liquid drug into the chamber (21) is realized.
  • the support member (25) on the orifice (22) is placed in any preferred area on the mouth of the patient labially, sublingually or into the cheek at first. Then, the pushing member (31) is moved in a direction so as to move out the liquid included drug inside the chamber (21), from the orifice (22) and the drug is administered to the patient by oral route by means of the positive pressure generated inside the chamber (21).
  • the inventive pediatric oral injector (1) enables children not to be afraid of oral drug administrations due to the fact that the orifice (22) is not compatible with the intravenous cannula diameter, does not contain needle, its image does not look like commonly used standard injectors by means of the support member (25) located on thereof and its shape. Particularly, it is not possible to administer drug by wrong route due to the fact that the injector orifice (22) is not compatible with the cannula diameter. Besides, due to the fact that the orifice (22) has an amorphous structure, integrity of oral mucous membrane can be maintained.
  • the notches (23, 24) included on the body (2) and the piston (3) enables to administer drug at a safe speed by facilitating gripping and preventing slipping and avoids airway aspiration.
