SANITARY FURNITURE ITEM
Technical Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an easy detachable cover assembly suitable for use in sanitary furniture items.
Background Art
Among the sanitary furniture items, it is known that water closets are used with a folding cover assembly. In the art, there are cover assemblies that are operated by a damper system and are removable from their location. One of the known methods for attaching and removing these cover assemblies is to remove the cover from the hinge on the water closet by pressing a single or double button. In the cover assemblies available in the art, these buttons wear out over time. Moreover, hygiene problems arise due to the recesses and protrusions of the buttons on the cover. Some of the closet cover fixing apparatuses available in the art cannot be easily assembled or disassembled, whereas some closet covers require additional apparatuses for fixing purposes. Also, hinge structures available in the art increase production costs due to their multi-piece and complex structures.
Objects of the Invention The present invention relates to an improved cover assembly to be used in bathrooms and toilets, which overcomes the above-mentioned disadvantages.
The cover assembly presented within the scope of the present invention can be easily mounted to the water closet and can be easily detached therefrom when it should be replaced. The present invention provides a hygienic environment as well as a robust connection since the closet cover is easily detachable without using any button, and has less recesses and protrusions. The present invention provides a simple configuration in which the user does not need a separate tool to remove the closet cover.
Advantageously, when the damper in the cover assembly is broken or out of service. The user can easily replace with the new one. The proposed system provides a durable system since the dampers are firmly kept in its place and removed when it is required.

Detailed Description of the Invention
The present invention relates to a cover assembly (10) for use in sanitary furniture items (100), said cover assembly (10) comprising a cover group (20) having an upper cover (21) and a lower cover (22), the upper cover suitable for pivotal movement relative to the lower cover (22); and a fixable connection assembly (30) to which the cover group (20) are attached. Said cover assembly (10) comprises a pair of damper housings (23) formed at the lower cover (22) and arranged in the same rotational axis; a pair of dampers (40) arranged to be positioned in said damper housings (23), respectively. Moreover, said connection assembly (30) comprises two guiding members (31) each having a retaining housing (32) to which a connection end (41) of the damper (40) extending outwardly from the damper (40) is removably attached. With the arrangement, the cover assembly (10) can be easily detached which in results an easy cleaning and replacement thereof, when necessary. The cover assembly (10) mainly comprises the cover group (20) and the connection assembly (30) on which the cover group (20) which is attached thereon. Referring to Fig. 3, the cover assembly (10) presented within the scope of the present invention mainly comprises a cover group (20) having the upper cover (21) suitable for pivotal movement with the lower cover (22) in the form of a hollow donut, and the connection assembly (30) suitable to be kept fixed. The cover group (20) is easily attached to the connection assembly (30) which is firstly connected on the water closet. Said connection is realized by positioning the connection end (41) of the damper (40) inside the guiding member (31) having the retaining housing (32).
Referring to Fig. 9, the connection end (41) has a polygonal, preferably rectangular or square cross-section such that it contacts the bottom and opposite lateral walls of the guiding member (31) in which it is positioned. Thus, the connection end (41) is prevented from rotating inside the guiding member (31). Again, as illustrated in Figs.7-9, said connection end (41) has a rectangular cross-section such that it cannot rotate inside the retaining housing (32), and the retaining housing (32) has a U cross-section such that it has an upper opening (33). Referring to the Fig. 6, the damper housings (23) have a generally cylindrical shape and provided at the rear part of the lower cover (22). Referring to Fig. 9, the connection end (41) of the damper (40) is aligned with respect to upper opening (33) and inserted into the retaining housing (32) such that the connection of the cover group (20) is completed. When the user wants to remove the cover group (20), the user has to bring the cover group (20) vertical position such that the connection end (41) can be lifted from the its retaining housing (32). If the cover group (20) is not brought to the almost vertical position, the damper housings (23) will block the movement.
As illustrated in Fig. 4, said guiding member (31) is reciprocally positioned in the housings (37) on the lateral walls of a raised area in the middle portion of the connection assembly (30), as a separate part. In the connection of the guiding member (31), there is a fixing protrusion (34) extending in the housing (37) in the rear connection assembly (30) of the guiding member (31) and having engagement teeth thereon. There is a guiding nut (36) which is attached on the fixing protrusion (34) so as to abut on an inner wall of the connection assembly (30) for purposes of compression. In addition, an additional gasket (35) may be used to prevent any possible jamming and for better fixation. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the guiding member (31) can be produced integral with the connection assembly (30).
Advantageously, the invention enables the cover group (20) to be removed at certain positions (i.e., between 70° and 100°, preferably in between 85° and 95° relative to the rotation axis). As illustrated in Fig. 7, said damper housing (23) has a peripheral end portion (42) surrounding the connection end (41), and the end portion (42) has an engagement opening (43) extending in the direction of the rotation axis (X). With said engagement opening (43), the damper housing (23) is seated on the guiding member (31) as illustrated in Fig. 10. In this position, the connection end (41) is engaged with the retaining housing (32) and forms a rotation axis (X). Then, the lower cover (22) and the upper cover (21) can be opened and closed together to rotate about the rotation axis (X) defined by the damper (40). As shown in Fig. 10, the inner wall (44) of the circumferentially extending end portion (42) is configured to be in contact with the guiding member (31) after the coupling. Also, the engagement opening (43) is configured to allow the connection end (41) to be removed from the retaining housing (32) only in a certain position. When in the position shown in Fig. 10, that is, when the cover group (20) is brought to a substantially vertical position, the engagement opening (43) remains at the lower part of the guiding member (31) and thus the connection end (41) can be removed through the upper opening (33) of the retaining housing (32). Referring to Fig. 6, the lower cover (22) and the upper cover (21) are also connected with a pair of dampers (40) extending in the damper housing (23), and they are allowed to make a pivotal movement by means of the damper housing (23) and the damper (40). There is a connection portion on said upper cover (21) that will coincide with the damper housing (23) on the lower cover (22) and through which the damper (40) will be partially passed.
Referring to Fig. 6, the lower surface of the upper cover (21) includes a series of upper fittings (24) such that it will contact the lower cover (22). Again, the lower cover (22) also includes a series of lower fittings (25) to allow dampening in case of a rapid closing. If the water closet is preferably made of ceramic, any possible damage is thus prevented. Said damper (40) is preferably formed cylindrically. Said connection assembly (30) may be a separate part, or may be integrated with the water closet. When the connection assembly (30) is used as a separate part, the connection of the water closet is achieved with the appropriate fasteners passing through the mounting holes thereon. The connection assembly (30) is preferably made of plastic. The sanitary furniture item (100) described herein may be a water closet, preferably a wall-hung water closet. The damper housings (23) formed in a hollow cylindrical shape are formed at the rear of the lower cover (22) such that there are preferably two in number and in the same axial direction.
