Description
A NEW TECHNIQUE AND FORMAT REQUIRING BALL AND EQUIPMENT
FIELD OF THE INVENTION:
The present invention relates to the field of sports. More particularly, the present invention pertains to new technique- TOLF - a team sport requiring ball and equipment.
The present invention is related to the methods and system of playing the sport, wherein the new formats of the aforementioned games is disclosed having features to applaud players making them stay engaged, attended and spectator's friendly.
The present invention in the new format reduces time, land area, and introduces new avenues of play involving communication and performance related technology wherein up to 16 players can compete simultaneously thus facilitating improved system and methods for the play.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION:
By team sport it is meant to describe a game or sport in which teams, consisting of more than one players each, playing together where the players are aware, in substantially real time, of the status of the game, i.e., the current score and the amount of the game remaining to be played, so that their strategy in playing the game can be responsive to the game situation.
To the extent that golf tournaments represent the prior art related to team golf competition, there are a number of shortcomings which my invention is intended to address. Unlike sports which are played in Stadiums and arenas, golf is played on a golf course which may occupy 150 to 200 acres or more. The players are not within sight and sound of each other. Various means of keeping players informed of the status of the game are unsatisfactory. Often, even professional golfers engaged in major tournaments are only peripherally aware of the overall status of the event because of hearing crowd reactions on adjacent holes. An effective course-wide public address system is not only expensive; its intrusive noise would be disrupting to players. To maintain manually posted scoreboards all over a golf course would be very expensive.
Traditionally, a round of golf entails playing '18 Holes' which take an average of 4 hours of playing time and only allows for the player and caddie to strategize in the execution and shot selection unlike the present invention. Traditional golf consists of 14 clubs and played over 150 acres to 200 Acres at a standard 18 holes golf course. For example 18 holes of golf can mean covering 7-10 kms at an average from shot to shot. The Use of Communication and performance related technology in the traditional golf is not used and sometimes banned as well. Traditional golf games does not Allows spectators to view Live in a Stadium/Arena environment rather they need to walk/ traveling over multiple Kilometers to View the sport.

The invention provides a simple, inexpensive and yet totaly enjoyable Golf game is provided for use outdoors. The game comprises a Golf flag assembly insertable into a natural ground surface and at a distance spaced from a tee area. A first annulus is positioned on the ground around the Golf flag assembly and defines a first target area within its inner periphery. A second annulus, having a diameter greater than the first annulus is in turn positioned on the ground surface and around the first annulus and defines a second target area between the first and second annulus. A hollow and perforated practice Golf ball is then struck with a standard Golf club from the tee area and towards the Golf flag assembly. The player's score is determined by the numer of strokes necessary to hit the practice Golf ball into either the first or second target area plus a predetermined number of strokes for the target area into which the practice ball lands. This predetermined number of strokes is larger for the second target area than for the first. Each annulus is constructed from one or more pieces of tubing, the ends of which may be detachably joined by a resilient double C-shaped clamp. Centrally of the first annulus, a putting cup is staked to the ground by a flag assembly.

The present invention which is merely new sport - TOLF - a team sport requiring ball and equipment that mentions various improved features over traditional golf. The traditional golf is basically an individual sporting event but the new the format changes traditional Golf as an individual sport to completely team sport based on relaying, striking, or propelling a ball thus enabling all individual to contribute to the score.
As a setting for a description of the preferred form of invention the new format comprises of delivering new individual rankings for players in different disciplines of the said sporting event wherein the disciplines comprises of Driving or Tee Shotin which the first stroke is played from the teeing ground of a TOLF hole, Approach or Fairway which is "closely mown area", Wedge or Short game which refers to the category of TOLF shots that are made when the TOLFER. is located relatively near the green, or on the green itself, Putting where golf stroke used with a club called a putter whereas in golf the player is ranked on entire basis.
The present format provides multiple equipment to propel or strike the ball towards a goal, hole, or pit with flexible resources such as cricket bats, hockey sticks, golf clubs, tennis rackets ball throwing devices etc.
The new improved format of sport - TOLF - a team sport requiring ball and equipment enables the team to frame strategies as 4 members or as whole in comparison to traditional Golf wherein it only allows for the player and caddie to strategize in the execution and shot selection. As it is well known that traditionally, a round of Golf entails playing '18 Holes' which takes an average of 4 hours of playing time but this format reduces playing time to 1 Hour for 18 Holes thus reduces the time of players to l/3rd.
The present format of sport - TOLF - provides limitation over the usage of Golf Clubs of any player to a maximum of 6 clubs for any individual team member rather than 14 as in Traditional Golf. It is evident from the present format of Golf that traditional golf is played over 150 acres to 200 acres at a standard 18 whole Golf course but new format requires lesser land and area. The present new format requires less walking /driving in carts etc. between shots played by players by 75 percent as of regular golf. For example, 18 holes of golf can mean covering 7-10 kms at an average in the traditional golf sport from shot to shot. But the TOLF format keeps the travel distance less than 2 kms for each player participating in the event. More particularly, provide flexibility to scale from 24 acres onward in TOLF format whereas golf requires 120+ acres for traditional golf courses.

In the present TOLF format players are not required to keep individual scores or maintain a scorecardwhich is a standard for traditional golf. The referees determine the score after each hole is played thus providing unique feature in the new format. Such provision reduces the load from the players and making them to
concentrate over the game. The traditional system of Golf sport provides Caddies, a person who carries a Golfer's clubs and provides other assistance during a match unlike the new format. The new sport - TOLF - a team sport requiring ball and equipment facilitates spectators to watch the game live in stadium or arena environment rather than walking or traveling over multiple Kilometers to view the sport. This makes the sport more 'spectators friendly' logistically. The lesser time taken to complete 18 holes makes it easier for them to stay engaged and attended but the traditional golf does not allow such feature. The invention provides flexibility in defining the boundaries. Therefore, the novelty exists for indoor/outdoor/large areas and multi terrain. More particularly, the technique requires less walking or driving in carts keeping travel distance less than 2 kms for playing 18 holes. The equipment requirements in the present invention far lower where a single equipment per player may be used and equipment and players can be changed. The technique is flexible in providing multiple equipment to propel, strike the ball towards a goal, hole, pit using any device of the choice of user.
