Description

A PASSIVE DOOR STOPPER WHICH IS INTEGRATED TO LOWER MECHANISM
TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention generally relates to mechanisms that provide the movement of commercial vehicle sliding doors.
In particular, the invention relates to a sliding door stopper integrated into the sliding door mechanism.
STATE OF THE ART
Today, there are skids to ensure the movement of sliding-door vehicles on the vehicle body. There are roller mechanisms that allow the sliding door to move on these skids. Roller mechanisms are usually provided as three parts, in the lower part, middle part and upper part of the sliding door.
Lower mechanisms in the state of the art generally consist of three parts. There is a fixing bracket attached to the sliding door with the connection holes on it. There is a body bracket connected to the fixing bracket, allowing the door to be moved. There is a roller bracket, which is pivotally attached to the end of the body bracket with a pin, and usually has carrier and/or guide rollers on it. In some designs, the reel may be directly connected to the body bracket instead of the reel bracket.
In the state of the art, two different methods are used to keep the non-electric sliding doors in the open position. The first of these is the door stopper located on the vehicle body. The other one is the lock systems integrated with the lower mechanism. The lock on the lower mechanism is connected to the sliding door handle with a cable in its structure. By pulling the opening handle on the sliding door, the lock on the lower mechanism is opened and the sliding door can move. The disadvantage of this system is the high cost of cables and locks.
Door stoppers are generally located on the middle or lower skid, and the rollers on the mechanism are attached to the door stopper, preventing the sliding door from moving when it is in the open position. Fixing holes must be drilled in order to fix such door stoppers on the body or skid. Drilled fixing holes cause a decrease in the mechanical strength of both the skid part and the vehicle body. Moreover, forming these holes on the skid and vehicle body causes process, time and cost losses.
Since both of the mentioned sliding door stopping methods require different configurations in the vehicle body, it is necessary to design a separate vehicle body for both models. Considering the wishes of the users, the production of vehicles with both types of door stoppers requires both a costly and time-consuming design and production process.
In the US patent application number US 2006059783 in the state of the art, the lock system on the lower mechanism is mentioned. The feature of the invention is the motorized control of the locking system. The invention mentioned herein does not provide solutions to other problems in the prior art.
In the French patent application number FR 2896008 in the state of the art, a passive sliding door stopper connected to the vehicle body is mentioned. The structure mentioned in that invention does not offer a solution to the problems in the prior art.
As a result, improvements are to be made in sliding door mechanisms, therefore, new structures are needed that will eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above and bring solutions to existing systems.
THE AIM OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a lower mechanism that meets the above-mentioned requirements, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.
The main purpose of the invention is to provide a passive door stopper integrated with the lower mechanism, which will not require the door stopper to be fixed on the vehicle body or the skid.
An aim of the invention is to develop a door stopper integrated with a lower mechanism that can passively stop the sliding door without being driven by a cable from the sliding door handle.
Another aim of the invention is to provide an integrated door stopper with a compact lower mechanism, with reduced production costs. In order to realize all the advantages mentioned above and will be understood from the detailed description below, the present invention is a sliding door lower mechanism used in vehicles with sliding doors and allowing the sliding door to move on the vehicle body, comprising;
- At least one door connection bracket fixed to the sliding door from one side,
- At least one body bracket that can be included as a whole with the said door connection bracket or is connected to the door connection bracket as a separate part and helps the door to be moved,
- At least one roller which is rotationally connected with the said body bracket and guides the movement of the sliding door,
- At least one latch, which ensures that the sliding door remains fixed in the open position, characterized in that;
- the mechanism contains at least one door stopper positioned on the body bracket, which allows the sliding door to remain in the open position by resisting the rotation of the latch when the sliding door is opened.
The structural and characteristic features of the invention and all its advantages will be understood more clearly by means of the figures given below and the detailed description written with reference to these figures. For this reason, the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and detailed explanation into consideration.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
In this detailed explanation, the preferred embodiments of the lower mechanism (1 ) of the invention, are explained only for a better understanding of the subject and without any limiting effect.
Figure 1 shows the disassembled view of the lower mechanism (1) of the invention. Figure 2 shows the isometric view of the lower mechanism (1 ) of the invention. Figures 3 and 4 show the views of the lower mechanism (1) of the invention, when the sliding door is closed and open, respectively. Figure 5 shows the isometric view of the door stopper (7) located on the lower mechanism (1) of the invention.
There are roller mechanisms that carry the sliding door of the vehicles. These are usually three in number, in the lower, middle and upper part. Figure 1 shows an example of a lower mechanism (1). The main function of the roller mechanisms is to ensure that the sliding door opens and closes relative to the vehicle body. On vehicles with a manual sliding door, two different methods are generally used to hold the sliding door in the open position. The first of these is the lock system on the lower mechanism (1), while the second is the passive door stops on the vehicle body.
The lower mechanism (1) seen in Figures 1 and 2 consists of three main elements. The door connection bracket (2) allows the connection of the lower mechanism (1 ) to the sliding door. The door connection bracket (2) is fixed to the body bracket (3) with the connectors (10) passed through the holes (11 ) on the door connection bracket (2) and the slot holes (9) on the body bracket (3). At one end of the body bracket (3), there is a roller (4) that guides the movement of the sliding door. The roller (4) is fixed by means of the axis pin (5), which is inserted into a mounting hole (6) on the body bracket (3).
There is a latch (8) positioned on the body bracket (3), allowing the sliding door to remain in the open position. The latch (8) is connected to the body bracket (3) in a rotational manner with an axis pin (5). In the locked lower mechanisms of the prior art, the latch activation is provided by pulling the door opening handle. A cable connected with the door opening handle is also connected with the lock latch, and when the door opening handle is moved, the lock latch moves and gets rid of the lock hook. Thus, the sliding door is released, and the sliding door can move from the open position to the closed position.
In the lower mechanism (1) of the invention, there is a latch (8), similarly. However, the latch (8) mentioned in the invention does not have a cable connection with the sliding door handle. The door stopper (7) positioned on the lower mechanism (1 ) is fixed to the body bracket (3) with the connection holes (7.1 ) in its structure. While the sliding door moves from the closed position to the open position, the lock latch (8) is attached to the hook on the vehicle body. Meanwhile, the latch (8) rotates and presses the protrusion (7.3) on the door stopper (7) and fits into the recess (7.2). The door stopper (7) is an engineering plastic with sufficient strength to keep the sliding door in the open position and is preferably manufactured from POM plastic material.
When one wants to move the sliding door from the open position to the closed position, the latch (8) on the lower mechanism (1 ) will try to get out from the recess (7.2) on the door stopper (7). After a certain force applied, the latch (8) will become free by stretching the door stopper (7) and the sliding door will be able to move. Thus, the sliding door will be passively stopped without the need for any cable configuration on the sliding door. Compared to other passive door stoppers applied to the vehicle body, many advantages such as process and product cost will be gained.
