Description

SCRAP CUTTING MACHINE
Technological Area:
This invention is about a scrap cutting machine that can be used in cutting big metal scrap materials.
Current Situation of the Technique:
There are molded presses and guillotines currently in use to cut metal scraps in order to reduce their sizes. Molded presses are structures that are used to get products at desired shapes (cubic, rectangular, square etc.) from scrap metals. The disadvantages of these machines are their absolute cycle discontinuity and that it takes long for each pressing operation.
Another method, guillotines works faster compared to molded presses. There are manually or automatically operated types of guillotines. In manually operated guillotines, the time required to arrange the size of the material to be cut and the difficulties faced in cutting very heavy metal scraps, make it difficult for the personnel. In automatically operated guillotines, the one-sided cutting of the guillotine causes the guillotine blade to be constantly exposed to tensile force and it won't be possible to make a proper cutting operation. In addition, they will need frequent maintenance.
In the utility model application numbered CN207563811U, "Highly efficient scrap iron cutter" is described. The invention is used in cutting materials with high metal toughness. With the help of the buttons in the control board, the shears connected to the hydraulic cylinder is moved and enables the scrap cutting operation.
In the patent application numbered US4041821A, the "Scrap cutter machine" is described. The invention includes fixed blades composed of two parts for scrap cutting operation, the blades are arranged in a way to consecutively cut the scrap material and one blade is aligned in a way to lie on at least a 30° angle to the cutting plane of the other blade.
In the inventions mentioned above, it's obvious that there will be difficulties in serial cutting operations of large scaled materials. Cutting operation continues until one side of the blade touches the side of the other blade so there will be deformations on blades and it may hinder the cutting operation.
In conclusion, there's a need for a new safe technology which can overcome the difficulties mentioned above, enable the cutting of large scaled materials, suitable for serial operation, does not allow the engine and equipment to be heated much with the help of its' cooling cycle and can prevent the accidents that may happen during cutting.
Definition of Invention:
This invention is a new safe technology which can overcome the difficulties mentioned above, enable the cutting of large scaled materials, suitable for serial operation, does not allow the engine and equipment to be heated much with the help of its' cooling cycle and can prevent the accidents that may happen during cutting.
The most important feature of our invention that distinguishes it from the other existing hydraulic shears, is that materials here are cut within in a cylindrical structure. Scraps are entering from the structure's top reservoir, being cut and transferred to the bottom conveyor belt. As the cutting operation takes place inside the body, it becomes possible to avoid accidents that may occur during cutting.
The function of the blades cutting in our invention is different compared to the existing blades. 2 blades are being used in cutting operation and these blades are being pushed by pistons to the blade slots placed in line, right in front of them. And as the scrap left in the middle is being cut by both sides, it breaks the bond with the main scrap material and is being carried by drums to the conveyor belt. Materials in here are being cut in half a meter lengths.
The oil that's heated of friction is being cooled down with the cooling systems in our invention and the fan and climate systems within these cooling systems. Cooled down oil is being transferred back to hydraulic oil feed reservoirs and from there sent to the pumps. Ducts that preserve the cooled and hot oil are different and recirculation of the oil in the system is enabled by these ducts.
With the help of the bending system (Section C) in our invention, it's avoided to leave space while the material is being cut. For the materials leaving space are hard to cut, the space is being removed by bending the material around its' own like a rope. This way, the scrap is more easily cut in the blades. As the bending system ascends together with the scrap in its' downward motion, it receives support from hydraulic force. And in its' upward motion, pneumatic force is being used for it to raise fast as it will not carry any load. The rotational motion of the bending system is enabled by hydromotors.
As the parts composing the invention is able to be fixed onto each other easily, the invention is installed easily, hence its' assembly time is short which makes the cost low. In addition, the invention has a solid structure.

Section D (7) in the invention includes the following parts; the sixth piston (7.1) and the sixth piston fixing cap (7.2). And the sixth piston (7.1) includes only one part which is the connection piece (7.1.1). Section E (8) in the invention includes the following parts; the seventh piston (8.1), the blade (8.2) and the blade duct (8.3). Section F (9) in the invention includes the following parts; the eighth piston (9.1) and the shear bottom cap (9.2). Section G (10) in the invention includes the following parts; the drum (10.1), the drum hydromotor (10.2), the fixing rod (10.3), the steel spring (10.4) and the scrap slipping apparatus (10.5). Within the inner wall bearing (6.8) there are also the oil pump, oil cooling system (air and gas) and hot-cooled oil tanks of the Section C's (6) spin system.
The working principle of the system subject to invention is as follows; before scraps are entering through the scrap intake (Hg) section, the first pistons (4.1) in Section A (4) goes back and scraps are filled. Section C (6) is pushed for half a meter with the third pistons (6.2). The first pistons (4.1) in Section A (4) closes in order to push the scraps left above to Section B (5). Then the second pistons (5.1) in Section B (5) push the second piston catch caps (5.2) and enable the scrap to be caught. The fifth piston (6.9) in Section C (6) opens the fifth piston catch caps (6.10) and ascends for half a meter by means of the fourth pistons (6.4) of Section C (6) which works pneumatically. Then, the fifth piston (6.9) closes the fifth piston catch caps (6.10). Meantime, the second piston catch caps (5.2) in Section B (5) open and scrap entry by Section A (4) continues. Section C (6) begins to rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise by means of the hydromotors (15) and bends the scrap like a rope. At the same time, it begins to drive the scrap toward Section D (7). Section D (7) catches the left-open scrap by means of the sixth piston catch caps (7.2). Meantime, Section C (6) ascends again by means of the fourth piston (6.3). While Section C (6) is ascending, the sixth piston (7.1) in Section D (7) pulls back the sixth piston fixing caps (7.2) and sends the scraps to Section E (8). The seventh pistons (8.1) in Section E (8) starts moving and pushes the blades (8.2) to send them to the blade ducts (8.3). Cut scrap falls between the drums (10.1) in Section G (10) and by means of the drum hydromotors (10.2) the rotating drums (10.1) leave the scraps on to the conveyor belt (K). System continually works in this way in a recirculation. During a system overhaul, the personnel unbolts the bolts on the pillars (28) and easily performs the operation.
