Description

Honeycomb sandwich panel
The subject of the invention is a honeycomb sandwich panel, where the frame is replaced with strengthening elements.
The description of the Polish patent PAT.228784 discloses a honeycomb panel with a batten core. The honeycomb panel is a multi-layered structure consisting of outer sheets (2 and 3) made of plywood, between which there is a core (4) made of solid wood battens. The core (4) has the form of a lattice, whose structural elements are wooden battens (5) with fibres laid along their longitudinal axes, with the neighbouring layers of battens [5] having mutually perpendicular wood fibres. The number of the layers of battens (5) in the lattice (4) is no fewer than three. The battens (5) in each layer are parallel to each other with a gap in between (6). The density of the laid battens in each layer is the same or different, and adjusting their density allows to achieve the desired stiffness and strength of the honeycomb panel. The more densely the battens in the core are arranged, the bigger the mass of the honeycomb panel.
The description of the patent PAT .235039 discloses a Cellular HDF board with a corrugated core and a method of manufacturing the HDF board with a corrugated core. The cellular board consisting of three layers where between at least two layers of outer sheets (2 and 3) there is a core (4), is characteristic in that the core (4) is connected pointwise (5) with the outer sheets (2 and 3), with the core (4) having the form of a corrugated board, in which the waves have the shape of lateral surfaces of pyramids, whose corners of the base are joined with analogous corners of the base of adjacent pyramids and each of the corners of the base of a pyramid is joined with three corners of adjacent pyramids, with the exception of the pyramids located at the edge of the cellular board where the pyramids are joined with two adjacent pyramids or in the corner of the board, in which the corners of the base of the pyramid are not joined with any other pyramid while the outer sheets (2 and 3) are joined with the core (4) using glue in the vertices of the pyramids. The subject of the patent application is also the method of manufacturing an HDF board with a corrugated core.
The description of the Polish patent PAT.213287 discloses a method of manufacturing furniture, in particular office furniture, consisting in that the board is cut into furniture panels, the narrow edges are veneered and then the furniture panels are milled and drilled, is characteristic in that the process of cutting the board is done using an end mill, from which the furniture panels are transported automatically using a system of roller conveyors to the veneering area, where the narrow edges of the furniture panels are veneered in a loop of single-side narrow edge veneering machines, while the curvilinear edges are veneered in the contour milling ad curvilinear veneering area, where the edges are finished simultaneously by forming the radius of the edge and by flat and profiled sanding using an industrial robot.
The description of another Polish patent no. 222102 discloses a method of veneering narrow planes of furniture elements, applicable to the production of veneered furniture elements, in particular covering the edges of furniture with a decorative layer. The method is characteristic in that the laser heats the functional layer of the edge banding with the thickness of 0.05-0.1 mm, made of polymer, with the same colour and structure as the decorative layer, to the temperature in the range of 350-350 ° C, preferably 400 ° C, and then it is pressed into a narrow plane of furniture elements with pressure rollers in the pressing zone within 0.3-0.7 m, preferably 0.5 m, for 3-7 seconds, preferably 5 seconds, where the feed rate of veneered furniture elements is 15-25 m / min, preferably 20 m / min.
The description of Polish patent no. 218559 provides a method of manufacturing elements of furniture, in particular elements made from laminated chipwood used to produce furniture. The method of manufacturing elements of furniture, in particular elements from laminated chipwood consists in cutting the boards into furniture panels, and then the narrow sides and favourably the edges are veneered, in particular if the edges form a gentle curve. The furniture panels are milled, drilled and favourably the gluing and/or sanding and/or cleaning process is also performed on them, and the furniture panels are delivered to the machining area. The element is marked by making at least one curved groove, which is used as a positioning mark for the technological processes, with the curved groove being milled or drilled, favourably on the narrow side of the furniture panel, with at least the milling process and the veneering process being basically performed in the same machining area and in a single machining equipment.
The description of yet another Polish patent no. 169196 discloses a layered insulation board, in particular a shuttering board, consisting of a few formed and glued to each other layers of veneer made by rotary-cutting hardwood or softwood is characteristic in that the outer layers are veneers saturated through with modified amino or phenolic resins of very low viscosity with the thickness of 1,5 - 4,5 mm, where the individual veneers are joined with each other using a layer of waterproof glue. The subject of the invention is also a method of manufacturing layered insulation boards. The layered insulation board, in particular a shuttering board consisting of a few formed and glued to each other layers of veneer made by rotary-cutting hardwood or softwood is characteristic in that the external layers are veneers saturated through with modified amino or phenolic resins of very low viscosity with the thickness of 1,5 - 4,5 mm, where the individual veneers are joined with each other using a layer of waterproof glue. The subject of the invention is also a method of manufacturing layered insulation boards.
The furniture industry uses honeycomb sandwich panels for manufacturing various types of furniture. These are usually solutions based on the popular framed or slatted panels or the less popular frameless panels.
The furniture industry already uses framed or ffameless honeycomb sandwich panels, including panels with longitudinal slats. The slats usually have the width of 50 mm, which makes it convenient to install traditional furniture joints and other furniture accessories.
However, the used frames increase the weight of the panel. Not using the frames and strengthening elements weakens the panel. The invention solves this problem by replacing the slats with elements with identical length but a smaller cross-section and by discreetly arranging cubicoid strengthening elements.
The honeycomb sandwich panel according to the invention consisting of three layers where between at least two layers of outer sheets there is a core, is characteristic in that it is equipped with longitudinal wooden slats of the frame and longitudinal or transverse strengthening elements in the form of cubicoids arranged discreetly on the outer sheets in the parts of the panel which are used to join the panel with other elements of frame- or box-based furniture or for installing furniture fittings.
Alternatively, the longitudinal slats of the wooden frame are replaced with strengthening slats made of chipboard in the form of cubicoids.
Alternatively, the strengthening slats in the form of cubicoids are made of HDF boards or cardboard profiles.
Favourably, the strengthening elements are glued to the layers of the panel.
The panel according to the invention ensures that the manufactured furniture elements have structural and technological properties identical with those of a panel with a frame and moreover it also decreases the relative density of the panel and improves its strength as compared to honeycomb sandwich panels without longitudinal slats.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention where
Fig 1 shows an embodiment of manufacturing the panel with a thin-walled slat
Fig 2 shows an embodiment of manufacturing the panel with the slat in the form of a cardboard tube with a rectangular cross-section.
Figure 1 shows an isometric projection of the cross-section of the panel. The panel (1) consisting of three layers where between at least two layers of outer sheets (2 and 3) there is a core (4). The panel is equipped with longitudinal wooden slats of the frame (5) and strengthening elements (6) in the form of cubicoids arranged discreetly on the outer sheets in the parts of the panel which are used to join the panel with other elements of frame- or box-based furniture or for installing furniture fittings. The thin-walled slats are made of chipboard or corrugated or pressed cardboard.
The outer layers have the thickness of 3 mm.
Fig 2 shows an embodiment of the panel with a slat in the form of a cardboard tube with a rectangular cross-section.
The presented embodiments do not exhaust the possibilities of using the invention.
