Description

Device for packaging and dispensing a cosmetic product comprising a bottle and a at least one cartridge
The present invention relates to a device for packaging and dispensing a cosmetic product prepared by mixing a first and a second bulk, of the type comprising:
- a bottle defining a bottle reservoir designed to contain the first bulk, the bottle reservoir extending along a bottle axis between a bottle upper end and a bottle lower end of the bottle;
- a cartridge extending along a cartridge axis between a cartridge upper end and a cartridge lower end, the cartridge defining a cartridge reservoir designed to contain the second bulk, the cartridge comprising a seal sealing the cartridge reservoir, the cartridge being arranged between a disassembled configuration in which it is spaced away from the bottle and a mounted configuration in which it is mounted on the bottle;
- a seal opening mechanism adapted to open the seal when the cartridge is placed in the mounted configuration, the bottle reservoir and the cartridge reservoir being in fluid communication in the mounted configuration; and
- a dispensing apparatus for dispensing the first bulk or the cosmectic product from the bottle reservoir, the dispensing apparatus being mounted on the bottle upper end of the bottle.
Such a device is intended to be used by a user to dispense a cosmetic product, for example, on a body surface.
Such a device enables a user to prepare a specific cosmetic product using specific bulks according to his wishes. For example, different bulks contained in different cartridges offer the user numerous customized blending possibilities.
The cosmetic product is for example, a cosmetic care product, a dyeing product or make-up product for the body surface. It is particularly in the form of a liquid or a gel.
More generally, a cosmetic product is a product as defined in EC Regulation No. 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and the Council of November 30, 2009, relating to cosmetic products.
WO 2018/206898 A1 discloses a device for mixing two cosmetic products, the device comprising a bottle defining a first reservoir containing the first product, a cartridge defining a second reservoir containing the second product, the cartridge being mountable on the bottle, a seal sealing the first reservoir and a seal opening mechanism to perforate the seal during the mounting of the cartridge on the bottle.
It can be difficult for a user to properly place and replace a cartridge on a bottle without, for example, spilling or degrading the bulk of either the bottle or the cartridge.
One purpose of the invention is to provide a device that is easy to use and in which the bulks are safely packaged, so that the prepared cosmetic product presents optimal cosmetic properties.
For this purpose, the invention relates to a device of the aforementioned type, wherein the cartridge comprises a removable cartridge-sealing plug, the removable cartridge-sealing plug being designed to cover the seal in the disassembled configuration, the removable cartridge-sealing plug being replaced with the bottle in the mounted configuration.
The removable cartridge-sealing plug accounts for an additional sealing means that prevent any leaking of the second bulk outside the cartridge reservoir or any intrusion of air within the cartridge reservoir when the cartridge is, for example, in a disassembled configuration. The cartridge can thus be stored without any risk that the second bulk may be deteriorated. Furthermore, when the cartridge has been used, the removable cartridge-sealing plug makes it possible to seal again the cartridge reservoir so that residual cosmetic product is not spilled outside of the cartridge.
The device can have the following feature:
- the bottle comprises a lower threaded neck at its bottle lower end, the cartridge comprising a threaded outer tubular sleeve extending along the cartridge axis towards the bottle, the lower threaded neck and the threaded outer tubular sleeve being designed to be screwed during the mounting of the cartridge on the bottle.
Mounting by screwing is an efficient and safe way to fasten the bottle and the cartridge.
According to alternatives:
- the cartridge comprises an inner tubular sleeve extending along the cartridge axis and a lower wall, the inner tubular sleeve, the lower wall and the seal defining the cartridge reservoir;
- the lower wall is movable between a lower position in which the cartridge reservoir has a first volume and an upper position in which the cartridge reservoir has a second volume, the first volume being greater than the second volume;
- the cartridge comprises an injection mechanism for injecting the second bulk within the bottle reservoir in the mounted configuration, the injection mechanism comprising a button for pushing the movable lower wall towards its upper position.
The presence of an injection mechanism enables the user to force the mixing of the first and the second bulk to prepare the cosmetic product. The push button accounts for an easy to use and efficient mechanical system. The lower wall acts as a piston that pushes the second bulk towards the bottle reservoir.
According to other alternatives:
- the seal comprises a cylindrical skirt covering at least a portion of an outer surface of the inner tubular sleeve;
- the seal opening mechanism comprises a cutting edge designed to open the seal when the cartridge is placed in the mounted configuration;
- the seal is movable with regards to the cutting edge between a first sealed position in which the seal seals the cartridge reservoir and a second open position in which the bottle reservoir and the cartridge reservoir are in fluid communication, by passing the cartridge between the disassembled configuration and the mounted configuration;
- the seal opening mechanism is borne by the cartridge;
- the bottle lower end comprises a lower support portion designed to cooperate with the seal during the mounting of the cartridge on the bottle, so that the seal is pushed towards its open position.
The seal opening mechanism being borne by the cartridge makes it possible for the user to manipulate a lightweight bottle. The mounting of the cartridge on the bottle leads to the opening of the seal. Therefore, the seal is easily open thanks to simple manipulation of the device.
In another variant, the dispensing apparatus comprises an extended portion extending within the bottle reservoir substantially along the bottle axis, the seal opening mechanism comprising a lower pushing end of the extended portion, the lower pushing end being designed to open the seal during mounting of the cartridge on the bottle.
The seal opening mechanism being part of the dispensing apparatus of the bottle makes it possible to implement a lightweight device in which the bottle and the cartridge have a simple structure without specific seal opening means such as, for example, the specific cutting edge.
In another variant, the dispensing apparatus is a pipette.
The pipette is a dispensing apparatus that can be easily used by the user in order to withdraw cosmetic product from the bottle reservoir and in order to dispense the cosmetic product on, for example, a body surface.
According to another alternative, the device further comprises a removable bottle-sealing plug designed to seal the bottle lower end of the bottle in the disassembled configuration, the removable bottle-sealing plug being replaced with the cartridge in the mounted configuration.
The removable bottle-sealing plug also accounts for a sealing means that prevent any leaking of either the first bulk or the cosmetic product and any intrusion of air within the bottle reservoir when the cartridge is, for example, in a disassembled configuration.
According to another alternative, the first bulk is a liquid and the second bulk is a powder.
The device offers a wide range of mixing possibilities. Various chemicals in various state of matter can be used to prepare, for example, a customized cosmetic product that is adapted to the wills of a user.
According to another alternative, the device comprises at least an auxiliary cartridge, the auxiliary cartridge defining an auxiliary cartridge reservoir designed to contain an additional second bulk, the auxiliary cartridge reservoir extending along an auxiliary cartridge axis between an auxiliary cartridge upper end and an auxiliary cartridge lower end of the auxiliary cartridge, the auxiliary cartridge comprising an auxiliary seal sealing the auxiliary cartridge reservoir, the auxiliary cartridge being arranged between a disassembled configuration in which it is spaced away from the bottle and a mounted configuration in which it is mounted on the bottle, the seal opening mechanism being adapted to open the auxiliary seal when the auxiliary cartridge is placed in the mounted configuration, the bottle reservoir and the auxiliary cartridge reservoir being in fluid communication in the mounted configuration, the auxiliary cartridge being able to be mounted on the bottle in replacement of the cartridge, the auxiliary cartridge advantageously comprising a removable auxiliary cartridge sealing plug, the removable auxiliary cartridge sealing plug being designed to cover the auxiliary seal in the disassembled configuration, the removable auxiliary cartridge sealing plug being replaced with the bottle in the mounted configuration.
Several cartridges can successively be mounted on a same bottle to, for example, adjust the quantity of the second bulk in the final cosmetic product.
The invention will be easier to understand after reading the following description, provided solely as an example and with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
