Definitions

  • Such separate chest guards can be hard to adjust, and are difficult to keep in place during competition, especially when making dynamic movements, such as when nocking and releasing arrows in rapid succession, or when competing from horseback, because they can move out of place and even slip off the shoulder and onto the drawing arm of the archer. Because an archer is generally left or right handed, chest guards are typically worn only on the side of the drawing arm, which can throw off the balance of the archer. Thus, there is a need in the art for a better designed and more versatile chest guard.
  • the invention addresses this need by providing a garment, suitable for archery, that includes an integrated chest guard as part of the garment.
  • the garment further includes means for warming or cooling the archer.
