Abstract
본 발명의 실시예들의 안테나 적층체는 안테나 기재층, 안테나 기재층의 상면 상에 배치되며 방사 패턴 및 안테나 패드를 포함하는 안테나 유닛 및 안테나 기재층의 저면 상에 배치되고 안테나 패드와 평면상에서 중첩된 접지 소자를 포함하는 표시 패널을 포함한다. 안테나 패드가 신호 방사에 활용되어 신호 송수신 특성이 개선될 수 있다.
Description
본 발명은 안테나 적층체에 관한 것이다. 보다 상세하게는, 안테나 층 및 그라운드를 포함하는 안테나 적층체에 관한 것이다.
최근 이동통신 기술이 발전하면서, 고주파 혹은 초고주파 대역의 통신을 수행하기 위한 안테나가 스마트폰 등의 디스플레이 장치, 차량, 건축물 등 다양한 대상 구조물에 적용되고 있다.
상기 디스플레이 장치 내부에는 편광판과 같은 광학 구조물 및 각종 센서 구조물이 함께 포함될 수 있다. 따라서, 안테나를 디스플레이 장치 내부에 포함시키는 경우, 상기 광학 구조물 및 상기 센서 구조물과의 간섭을 일으키지 않도록 상기 안테나를 배치, 설계할 필요가 있다.
또한, 상기 광학 구조물 및 상기 센서 구조물에 의해 상기 안테나가 적용될 수 있는 공간이 제약될 수 있다. 안테나 삽입을 위해 추가적인 막, 구조를 형성하는 경우 디스플레이 장치의 전체 두께, 부피를 증가시킬 수 있다.
따라서, 제한된 공간 안에서 안테나의 충분한 방사 특성, 게인 특성을 확보하기 위한 안테나 설계가 필요하다.
예를 들면, 한국공개특허 제2013-0113222호는 휴대용 단말기에 내장되는 안테나 구조를 개시하고 있으나, 상술한 바와 같이 디스플레이 장치 내에서 광학 특성 및 방사 특성을 함께 고려한 안테나 설계를 충분히 개시하고 있지 않다.
본 발명의 일 과제는 향상된 방사 특성을 갖는 안테나 적층체를 제공하는 것이다.
1. 안테나 기재층; 상기 안테나 기재층의 상면 상에 배치되며 방사 패턴 및 안테나 패드를 포함하는 안테나 패턴층; 및 상기 안테나 기재층의 저면 상에 배치되고 상기 안테나 패드와 평면상에서 중첩된 접지 소자를 포함하는 표시 패널을 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
2. 위 1에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널은 표시 영역 및 비표시 영역을 포함하며, 상기 접지 소자는 상기 비표시 영역 내에 배치되는, 안테나 적층체.
3. 위 1에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널은 표시 영역 내에 배치된 TFT 전극 및 표시 소자를 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
4. 위 3에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널의 상기 TFT 전극은 비표시 영역으로 연장되며, 상기 TFT 전극의 연장된 부분은 상기 접지 소자로 제공되는, 안테나 적층체.
5. 위 3에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널은 상기 TFT 전극과 연결되며 비표시 영역 내에 배치되는 버스바를 포함하며, 상기 버스바는 상기 접지 소자로 제공되는, 안테나 적층체.
6. 위 3에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널은 비표시 영역 내에서 상기 표시 소자와 동일 층에 형성된 접지 구조물을 포함하며, 상기 접지 구조물은 상기 접지 소자로 제공되는, 안테나 적층체.

본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 안테나 적층체는 안테나 패드와 평면 상에서 중첩된 접지 소자를 포함하는 표시 패널을 포함한다. 안테나 패드가 공진주파수를 매칭시키고 임피던스를 최적화시키는데 활용될 수 있다. 따라서, 안테나의 게인 및 방사 특성이 개선될 수 있다.

본 발명의 실시예들은 안테나 유닛의 패드와 표시 패널의 접지 소자가 평면상에서 중첩된 안테나 적층체를 제공한다.
상기 안테나 적층체에 포함되는 안테나 패턴층은 투명 필름 형태로 제작되는 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나(microstrip patch antenna)일 수 있다. 상기 안테나 적층체는 예를 들면, 고주파 혹은 초고주파(예를 들면, 3G, 4G, 5G 또는 그 이상) 이동통신 및 Wi-fi, 블루투스, NFC, GPS 등을 위한 통신 기기에 적용될 수 있다.

안테나 기재층(110)에 의해 안테나 패턴층(120)과 표시 패널(200)에 포함된 접지 소자 사이에 정전용량(capacitance) 또는 인덕턴스(inductance)가 형성되어, 안테나 적층체(10)가 구동 혹은 센싱할 수 있는 주파수 대역이 조절될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 안테나 기재층(110)의 유전율은 약 1.5 내지 12 범위로 조절될 수 있다. 상기 유전율이 약 12를 초과하는 경우, 구동 주파수가 지나치게 감소하여, 원하는 고주파 혹은 초고주파 대역에서의 구동이 구현되지 않을 수 있다. 예를 들면, 안테나 기재층(110)이 글래스를 포함할 경우, 3.5 내지 8의 유전율을 가질 수 있다.
커버 윈도우(150)는 안테나 유닛(120) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 커버 윈도우(150)는 안테나 기재층(110)의 반대 측에 배치될 수 있다. 커버 윈도우(150)는 안테나 적층체(10)의 시인면 또는 최외곽면에 배치될 수 있다.
커버 윈도우(150)는 예를 들면, 글래스, 또는 폴리이미드, 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트(PET), 아크릴계 수지, 실록산계 수지 등과 같은 유연성 수지 물질을 포함할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 커버 윈도우(150)의 두께는 약 10㎛ 내지 1,000㎛일 수 있다. 바람직하게는, 커버 윈도우(150)의 두께는 커버 윈도우(150)가 유연성 수지물질인 경우 약 300 내지 700㎛ 일 수 있으며, 박막 유리인 경우 약 10 내지 100㎛일 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 안테나 유닛(120)의 상면은 커버 윈도우(150)와 직접 접촉할 수 있다.

상기 무기 절연층은 금속 산화물 또는 금속 질화물을 포함하는 단일막 또는 다층막을 포함할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 상기 무기 절연층은 SiNx, SiON, Al2O3, SiO2 및 TiO2로 구성된 군에서 선택된 어느 하나를 포함할 수 있다.
예를 들면, 상기 무기 절연층은 SiON 층 또는 SiO2 층으로 형성되거나, SiON 및 SiO2의 이중층으로 형성될 수 있다.

예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 안테나 유닛(120)의 상면 상에 편광층(140)이 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 절연층(130)과 커버 윈도우(150) 사이에 편광층(140)이 배치될 수 있다. 편광층(140)은 절연층(130)과 상기 점접착층에 의해 접합될 수 있다. 편광층(140) 상에 추가 점접착층이 형성될 수 있으며, 이 경우, 상기 추가 점접착층에 의해 편광층(140)과 커버 윈도우(150)가 접합될 수 있다.

일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상기 광학 필름은 편광판(111)을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 상기 광학 필름은 편광자(112) 및 편광자(112)의 적어도 일 면 상에 형성된 편광자 보호 필름들(114, 115)의 적층체를 포함할 수 있다. 편광자(112)와 편광자 보호 필름들(114, 115)은 예를 들면, 점접착층에 의해 접합될 수 있다.

일 실시예에 있어서, 안테나 패턴층(120)의 시인 측면 상에 흑화층이 형성될 수 있다. 이 경우 상기 흑화층에 의해 전극의 시인을 방지할 수 있다.

일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상기 안테나 패드는 신호 패드(126)를 포함하며, 그라운드 패드(128)를 더 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 신호 패드(126)를 사이에 두고 한 쌍의 그라운드 패드(128)들이 배치될 수 있다. 그라운드 패드(128)들은 신호 패드(126) 및 전송 선로(124)와 전기적으로 분리될 수 있다.

일부 실시예들에 있어서, 안테나 패턴층(120)의 일단은 회로 연결 구조물(160)과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 회로 연결 구조물(160)은 예를 들면, 연성 인쇄 회로 기판(FPCB)을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 안테나 패드는 예를 들면, 연성 인쇄 회로 기판과 같은 회로 연결 구조물(160)을 통해 안테나 구동 집적 회로(IC) 칩과 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 따라서, 상기 안테나 구동 IC 칩을 통해 상기 안테나 패턴으로의 급전 및 구동 제어가 수행될 수 있다.
상기 구동 집적 회로(IC) 칩은 상기 연성 회로 기판 상에 직접 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 연성 회로 기판(FPCB)은 구동 집적 회로(IC) 칩과 상기 안테나 패턴을 전기적으로 연결시키는 회로 또는 콘택을 더 포함할 수 있다. 연성 회로 기판(FPCB) 및 구동 집적 회로(IC) 칩과 인접하도록 배치함으로써, 신호 송수신 경로를 단축시켜 신호 손실을 억제할 수 있다.
일 실시예에 있어서, 안테나 패턴층(120)은 메쉬 구조로 형성될 수도 있다. 예를 들면, 안테나 기재층(110)의 상면 상에 스퍼터링 공정을 통해 안테나 패턴층(120)을 직접 형성할 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 방사 패턴(122)은 메쉬 구조를 가질 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 방사 패턴(122)과 연결된 전송 선로(124) 역시 메쉬 구조를 가질 수 있다.
방사 패턴(122)이 메쉬 구조를 포함함에 따라, 방사 패턴(122)이 디스플레이 장치의 표시 영역 내에 배치되는 경우에도 투과율이 향상되어 전극 시인 및 이미지 품질 저하를 방지할 수 있다.
방사 패턴(122) 및 전송 선로(124) 주변에는 더미 메쉬 패턴이 배치될 수 있다. 상기 더미 메쉬 패턴은 방사 패턴(122) 및 전송 선로(124)와 분리 영역을 통해 전기적, 물리적으로 이격될 수 있다.
예를 들면, 안테나 기재층(110) 상에 상술한 금속 또는 합금을 포함하는 도전층을 형성할 수 있다. 상기 도전층을 방사 패턴(122) 및 전송 선로(124)의 프로파일을 따라 부분적으로 식각하여 상기 메쉬 구조를 형성하면서 상기 분리 영역을 형성할 수 있다. 이에 따라, 상기 분리 영역에 의해 이격된 안테나 유닛(120) 및 상기 더미 메쉬 패턴을 상기 안테나 기재층(110) 상에 형성할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 급전 저항 감소를 위해 신호 패드(126)는 속이 찬(solid) 구조로 형성될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 신호 패드(126)는 디스플레이 장치의 비표시 영역 또는 차광 영역에 배치되어 연성 회로 기판 및/또는 안테나 구동 IC 칩과 본딩 또는 연결될 수 있다.
이에 따라, 신호 패드(126)는 사용자의 시인 영역 또는 표시 영역 (DA) 밖에 배치될 수 있다. 일 실시예에 있어서, 신호 패드(126)는 금속 또는 합금으로 구성될 수 있다.
표시 패널(200)은 안테나 기재층(110)의 안테나 유닛(120) 반대 면(예를 들면, 안테나 기재층(110)의 저면) 상에 형성될 수 있다.
표시 패널(200)은 액정 표시 장치, 유기 LED 표시 장치, 무기 LED 표시 장치, 플라즈마 표시 장치 등을 포함할 수 있으며, 바람직하게는, 유기 LED 표시 장치, 무기 LED 표시 장치 등의 자발광 표시 장치일 수 있다.

표시 패널(200)은 화상이 표시되는 표시 영역(DA) 및 표시 영역(DA) 주변의 비표시 영역(NDA)을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 표시 영역(DA) 내에 표시 소자(260) 및 TFT 전극(270)이 배치될 수 있다. 상기 접지 소자는 비표시 영역(NDA) 내에 형성될 수 있다.
도 2 및 도 3을 참조하면 상기 접지 소자는 TFT(thin film transistor) 전극(270)을 포함할 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, TFT 전극(270)은 표시 영역(DA)을 넘어서 비표시 영역(NDA)까지 연장될 수 있다. 이 경우, 표시 영역(DA) 내에 위치한 부분이 표시부(272)로 정의되고, 비표시 영역(NDA)으로 연장된 부분이 연장부(274)로 정의될 수 있다.
따라서, 도 1에 도시된 바와 같이, 연장부(274)가 안테나 패드(126, 128)와 평면 상에서 중첩되어 접지 소자로 제공될 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 연장부(274)는 TFT 전극(270)의 도선, TFT 전극(270)에 연결된 트레이스 또는 TFT 전극(270)에 연결된 버스바(미도시)를 포함할 수 있다.
예를 들면, TFT 전극(270), 상기 트레이스 및 상기 버스바는 투명도를 고려하지 않고 저저항 금속으로 형성될 수 있으며, 예를 들면, 은(Ag), 금(Au), 구리(Cu), 알루미늄(Al), 백금(Pt), 팔라듐(Pd), 크롬(Cr), 티타늄(Ti), 텅스텐(W), 니오븀(Nb), 탄탈륨(Ta), 바나듐(V), 철(Fe), 망간(Mn), 코발트(Co), 니켈(Ni), 아연(Zn), 주석(Sn), 몰리브덴(Mo), 칼슘(Ca) 또는 이들 중 적어도 하나를 함유하는 합금이 사용될 수 있다. 바람직하게는, 상기 저저항 금속은 구리, 알루미늄, 은-팔라듐-구리 합금, 구리-칼슘 합금을 포함할 수 있다. 이 경우, 안테나의 주파수 및 임피던스가 효과적으로 조절 및 매칭될 수 있다.
도 5는 예시적인 실시예들에 따른 안테나 적층체를 나타내는 개략적인 평면도이다. 도 6은 예시적인 실시예들에 따른 안테나 적층체를 나타내는 개략적인 단면도이다. 도 1 내지 도 4를 참조로 설명한 구성/구조와 실질적으로 동일하거나 유사한 내용에 대한 설명은 생략될 수 있다.
도 5 및 도 6을 참조하면, 안테나 적층체(20)의 표시 패널(201)은 접지 구조물(280)을 포함할 수 있다. 접지 구조물(280)은 표시 소자(260)와 동일 층 또는 동일 레벨에 형성될 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 접지 구조물(280)은 비표시 영역(NDA) 내에 형성될 수 있다. 따라서, 비표시 영역(NDA) 내에 배치된 안테나 유닛(120)의 안테나 패드(126, 128)와 중첩될 수 있다. 이 경우, 접지 구조물(280)이 상기 접지 소자로서 안테나 패드(126, 128)와 커플링될 수 있으며, 안테나의 주파수 및 임피던스가 효과적으로 조절될 수 있다.
예를 들면, 접지 구조물(280)은 TFT 전극(270)을 예로 들어 설명한 소재와 동일한 소재를 포함할 수 있으며, 막대 또는 판 형상으로 형성될 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 접지 구조물(280)은 메쉬 구조 또는 속이 꽉 찬(solid) 구조를 포함할 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 접지 구조물(280)은 TFT 전극(270)과 동일한 소재로 형성될 수 있으며, TFT 전극(270)의 연장부(274), 접지 구조물(280) 및 안테나 유닛(120)의 상기 안테나 패드가 순차적으로 중첩될 수 있다. 이 경우, TFT 전극(270)의 연장부(274), 접지 구조물(280) 및 안테나 유닛(120)이 함께 커플링되어 안테나의 게인을 향상시킬 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 접지 구조물(280)은 안테나 유닛(120)의 그라운드 패드(128)와 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 안테나 기재층(110)을 관통하는 비아(via) 또는 컨택을 통해 접지 구조물(280)과 안테나 유닛(120)의 그라운드 패드(128)가 연결될 수 있다. 일부 실시예들에 있어서, 접지 구조물(280)은 안테나 기재층(110)의 측면을 우회하는 그라운드 도선을 통해 안테나 유닛(120)의 그라운드 패드(128)와 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다. 이 경우, 안테나의 게인이 향상될 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 접지 구조물(280)은 안테나 기재층(110)의 안테나 유닛(120) 측의 반대 면(예를 들면, 저면) 상에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 접지 구조물(280)은 안테나 패드(126, 128)의 하부에 배치될 수 있다. 이 경우, 접지 구조물(280)과 표시 소자(260)는 전기적 및 물리적으로 분리될 수 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 표시 소자(260)는 안테나 유닛(120)의 방사 패턴(122)과 안테나 적층체(10)의 두께 방향으로 중첩될 수 있다. 이 경우, 방사 패턴(122) 및 상기 안테나 패드 전체가 활용되어 안테나의 공진 주파수 및 임피던스가 조절될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 표시 소자(260)는 표시 영역(DA)내에만 형성되어 상기 안테나 패드와 중첩되지 않을 수 있다. 일 실시예에 있어서, 표시 소자(260)는 안테나 유닛(120)의 전체 면적에 대하여 중첩될 수도 있다.
예시적인 실시예들에 있어서, 안테나 적층체(10)는 터치 센싱 구조체를 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 터치 센싱 구조체는 표시 패널(200)의 상면 상의 임의의 영역에 배치될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상기 터치 센싱 구조체는 안테나 유닛(120) 내부에 형성될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 상기 터치 센싱 구조체는 상기 안테나 유닛과 동일 층에 형성될 수 있다.
일부 실시예들에 있어서, 상기 터치 센싱 구조체는 안테나 기재층(110) 내부에 형성될 수 있다. 예를 들면, 안테나 기재층(110)이 편광판(111)을 포함할 경우, 편광자 보호 필름들(114, 115)에 상기 터치 센싱 구조체가 매립될 수 있다.
상기 터치 센싱 구조체는 예를 들면, 정전 용량 방식의 센싱 전극들을 포함할 수 있다. 예를 들면, 열 방향 센싱 전극들 및 행 방향 센싱 전극들이 서로 교차하도록 배열될 수 있다. 상기 터치 센싱 구조체는 상기 센싱 전극들 및 구동 IC 칩을 연결시키는 트레이스들을 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 터치 센싱 구조체는 상기 센싱 전극들 및 상기 트레이스들이 형성되는 기재를 더 포함할 수도 있다.
Claims (15)
- 안테나 기재층;상기 안테나 기재층의 상면 상에 배치되며 방사 패턴 및 안테나 패드를 포함하는 안테나 유닛; 및상기 안테나 기재층의 저면 상에 배치되고 상기 안테나 패드와 평면상에서 중첩된 접지 소자를 포함하는 표시 패널을 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널은 표시 영역 및 비표시 영역을 포함하며, 상기 접지 소자는 상기 비표시 영역 내에 배치되는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 2에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널은 상기 표시 영역 내에 배치된 TFT 전극 및 표시 소자를 더 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 3에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널의 상기 TFT 전극은 비표시 영역으로 연장된 연장부를 포함하며, 상기 연장부가 상기 접지 소자로 제공되는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 3에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널은 상기 TFT 전극과 연결되며 비표시 영역 내에 배치되는 버스바를 더 포함하며, 상기 버스바는 상기 접지 소자로 제공되는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 3에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널은 비표시 영역 내에서 상기 표시 소자와 동일 층에 형성된 접지 구조물을 포함하며, 상기 접지 구조물은 상기 접지 소자로 제공되는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 3에 있어서, 상기 표시 소자는 상기 안테나 유닛의 그라운드로 제공되는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 안테나 기재층은 유리 또는 광학 필름을 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 8에 있어서, 상기 광학 필름은 편광판을 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 안테나 유닛의 상면 상에 배치된 커버 윈도우를 더 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 10에 있어서, 상기 커버 윈도우와 상기 안테나 유닛 사이에 개재된 편광판을 더 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 표시 패널의 상면 상에 배치된 터치 센싱 구조체를 더 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 안테나 패드는 상기 방사 패턴과 연결된 신호 패드 및 상기 신호 패드 주변에 형성된 그라운드 패드를 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 1에 있어서, 상기 방사 패턴은 메쉬 구조를 갖는, 안테나 적층체.
- 청구항 14에 있어서, 상기 안테나 유닛은 상기 방사 패턴 주변에 배열된 더미 메쉬 패턴을 더 포함하는, 안테나 적층체.
