Definitions
- the present invention relates to a holding device for battery cells, which are installed in large numbers to form a battery module of a high-voltage storage system, in particular for an electric vehicle or for a hybrid vehicle.
- Storage batteries also known as batteries or accumulators, are known for providing electrical energy.
- electrical energy with a comparatively high voltage of, for example, 400 V is required and the storage batteries used for this purpose are also referred to as high-voltage storage devices or drive batteries.
- high-voltage storage devices are generally not constructed as monoblocks, but in a modular fashion from a large number of battery cells. This increases the freedom of design and enables the use of comparatively inexpensive standard cells, which can be mass-produced, instead of individual custom-made products.
- the number of battery cells used is directly related to the range of the electric or hybrid vehicles. In practice, for example, round cells or prismatic battery cells are used as battery cells for high-voltage storage.
- the high-voltage batteries are often installed in the area of the passenger cell or the trunk of a vehicle and take up considerable space. There is therefore a challenge for the accommodation of the To find a high-voltage storage system in such a way that passenger comfort and cargo space are restricted as little as possible. It is therefore desirable to use such spaces for accommodating the battery cells as far as possible that would otherwise have no further use and thereby achieve a high packing density of the battery cells.
- a holding device is known, for example, from DE 102016206463 A1, which is formed in particular by a plastic frame for insertion into the spaces between the battery cells.
- the object of the present invention is to create a holding device for battery cells which is reduced in terms of cost and space requirements.
- the invention relates to a holding device for battery cells for building a high-voltage storage module that can be used for electrically powered motor vehicles, comprising an insulating plate provided with a recess pattern for each battery cell, the recess pattern having both positioning supports for the battery cell and flow joints for introducing an electrically insulating adhesive .
- the invention is based on the following considerations:
- Known holders for battery cells are mostly complex plug-in devices. If a module is constructed from a large number of battery cells, these must be protected from overheating using cooling plates. The battery cells must be electrically isolated from the cooling plates. According to the invention, an electrically insulating adhesive and a specially designed insulating plate are initially intended to be used as a “holder” in a simplified manner, with reliable positioning, in particular with respect to the vertical axis, being intended at the same time. Furthermore, a maximum possible adhesive force between the battery cells and the cooling plate must be established during the manufacturing process. The glue flow must be even and without air bubbles. Both the mechanical connection strength and the dissipation of heat should therefore be optimized.
- the holding device therefore essentially comprises an insulating plate provided with a recess pattern for each battery cell, the recess pattern having both positioning supports for the battery cell and flow joints for the introduction of an adhesive.
- the positioning supports prevent contact between the battery cell and the cooling plate and thus also have an electrically insulating effect.
- the flow joints are designed in such a way that they at least allow the cavity to be completely filled with electrically insulating adhesive between the battery cell surface resting on the positioning support and the cooling plate.
- the river joints also allow a lateral support, at least partially viewed in the vertical axis.
- the use with round battery cells is particularly advantageous, but not limited to it.
- FIG. 1 shows a plan view of the overall arrangement according to the invention with a held battery cell
- FIG. 2 shows a cross section of FIG. 1 through the vertical axis (z-axis) at an angle of 120 ° (section AA) and 3 shows a plan view of the recess pattern according to the invention in the insulating plate without the battery cell.
- FIG. 1 shows a battery cell 1 in an insulating plate 3 (detail) provided with a recess pattern.
- FIG. 1 viewed from above, only the flow joints 4 for the introduction of an adhesive 6 (FIG. 2) can be seen.
- Fig. 2 shows Fig. 1 viewed in section A-A.
- the battery cell 1 rests on a positioning support 5 of the insulating mat 6 and is thus spaced from a cooling plate 2 provided below the insulating mat 3.
- the positioning supports 5 is thus designed in such a way that contact between the battery cell 1 and the cooling plate 2 is prevented.
- a flow joint 4 can also be seen, which is designed in such a way that it ensures at least a complete filling of the flea space between the battery cells 1 resting on the positioning supports 5 and the cooling plate 2 with adhesive 6.
- the adhesive should be chosen to be electrically insulating.
- the flow joints 4 are designed as evenly distributed recess knobs, so that the adhesive 6 can preferably emerge in a laterally supporting manner.
- the positioning supports 5 are designed as evenly distributed depressions in the form of spacers in the insulating plate 3 (in one piece).
- the number of flow joints 4 is preferably twice as large as the number of positioning supports 5.
- Each positioning support 5 can be directly adjacent to every second flow joint 4.

Description
HALTEVORRICHTUNG FÜR BATTERIEZELLEN
TECHNISCHES GEBIET
Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt der Fig. 1 durch die Hochachse (z-Achse) im 120° Winkel (Schnitt A-A) und
Fig. 2 zeigt Fig. 1 im Schnitt A-A betrachtet.
