The mouthpiece is usually made of metal, ceramic, plastic or the like, through which a metal tube is passed, which protrudes on the side facing the user. The mouthpiece is sometimes designed in two parts, with the actual mouthpiece being attached to the end with the protruding metal tube, which is often made of plastic for hygienic reasons.

The head is usually designed as a small vessel made of a refractory material with a recess into which the tobacco is filled. The smoke can get into the smoke column through openings in the head.

To generate smoke, the tobacco is heated by means of a glowing fuel, usually coal, arranged above the tobacco, so that essentially the aromas of the tobacco evaporate. Burning the tobacco when smoking should be avoided as far as possible, so the tobacco filled into the head is often covered with a perforated aluminum foil on which the glowing coal is placed as fuel.

It is the object of the present invention to improve a water pipe with regard to the selection of the materials used to form the mouthpiece and head in such a way that the enjoyment of users is increased.

This object is achieved by a mouthpiece and a head for a water pipe with the features of the independent claims.

According to the invention, a mouthpiece for a water pipe is provided which has a body through which a through hole is guided, the mouthpiece being designed to connect an opening of the through hole with a water pipe hose of the water pipe or a tube protruding from the water pipe hose, the mouthpiece from Wood or a wood composite.

The mouthpiece is preferably designed to be rotationally symmetrical in relation to the through-hole, so that there are no restrictions on use for the user, as is the case with the mouthpiece of a conventional tobacco pipe, for example.

If the mouthpiece is to be connected directly to the water pipe hose, i.e. without a tube arranged in between, the mouthpiece preferably has an outer diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the water pipe hose at its end to be connected to the water pipe hose, so that it can simply be inserted into the hose . Alternatively, this end can also have a conical shape so that it can also be used with different hose diameters or inner diameters. In addition, in both of the aforementioned variants, this end can be designed to be retracted compared to the rest of the mouthpiece, so that there is a "stop" when it is pushed onto the hose, which also creates a more harmonious appearance when the hose merges into the mouthpiece without a clear step. The mouthpiece can also be designed in such a way that the hose is inserted into the corresponding end, but this variant is not preferred.

If a tube, usually made of metal, protrudes from the hose for attaching the mouthpiece, the inner diameter of the end of the mouthpiece is preferably adapted to the outer diameter of the tube.

This variant with the tube is often used in shisha bars or the like in order to be able to change the mouthpieces quickly for hygienic reasons when changing users. Since the mouthpieces are usually made of plastic for this purpose, they are designed as disposable items. With the mouthpieces according to the invention made of wood or wood composite, each user has an individual mouthpiece that remains his property and can be used repeatedly.

The mouthpieces, in particular those that are connected directly to the water pipe hose, can also have a greater length so that a user can also use them as a handle to guide the mouthpiece to the mouth.

Such mouthpieces can be designed in a visually appealing manner by profiling.

Otherwise, the configuration of the mouthpieces according to the invention offers the user a pleasant feel and a more pleasant feeling on the lips as well as a better sense of pleasure than when using mouthpieces made of plastic, metal, ceramic or the like.

In addition, the subject of the invention is a head for a water pipe, a body with a recess for receiving tobacco and at least one passage opening which opens in the area of the recess and is preferably provided with a circumferential edge, which is preferably less high than a circumferential edge Edge of the recess which is designed for introducing smoke into a smoke column of a water pipe, the body being made of wood.

The head can be designed in a variety of ways. For economic reasons, rotationally symmetrical shapes are particularly suitable.

Contrary to the usual designs of water pipes with mouthpieces and heads made of metallic, ceramic materials or the like and the associated reservations with regard to hygiene and durability, wood is very suitable as a material for mouthpieces and heads of water pipes, ie it is good resistance to moisture from the Saliva of the users and water droplets entrained in the tobacco smoke are given by the mouthpieces and the heads show good resistance to the heat of the fuel. According to a preferred embodiment, the selected wood contains ingredients which additionally promote resistance to moisture and the killing of germs.

These can be, for example, various tannins, such as tannins and catechin tannins, which are present in increased amounts in oak wood, for example.

The woods can also contain a lot of oil, such as olive wood, for example, so that their resistance, in particular to moisture, is increased within the scope of this invention.

Alternatively, the ingredients can also be added later. For example, any kind of wood can be painted or soaked with olive oil, linseed oil, tung oil or other oils, preferably drying oils and / or oils that are harmless to humans (possibly in a hardened state), which harden over time and prevent the penetration of water and harden the wood additionally. Furthermore, the penetration of moisture into the wood is prevented. With such drying oils, the feel of the wood surface is advantageously made even more pleasant at the same time. In addition, the surface is protected from dirt and has a slightly shiny appearance.

Another preferred embodiment consists in selecting wood with a high Brinell hardness, preferably> 30 N / mm ² .

It is also preferred to select the wood on the basis of its bulk density, preferably with a wood moisture content of 12% (normal moisture content in heated interiors). The bulk density should preferably be> 600 kg / m ³ .

The aforementioned criteria for selecting wood that is particularly suitable for forming a mouthpiece and a head of a water pipe are partially overlapping and can differ depending on whether a mouthpiece or a head is to be manufactured. For example, wood containing oil is particularly suitable for mouthpieces. Hard and dense woods in particular are chosen for a head, as they are more stable when exposed to heat.

Usually, the coals used for heating do not come into direct contact with the wood, but it has been shown that a circumferential edge of the recess in soft wood, for example coniferous wood, can be charred by the heat.

This effect is effectively avoided if the hard woods mentioned above are used and / or the surrounding edge of the recess is not sharp-edged, but rounded, wherein the edge has a radius of curvature of at least 1 mm, preferably at least 2 mm.

At the same time, the aforementioned woods, which are selected according to their hardness and bulk density, also absorb moisture to a lesser extent.

The wood is preferably selected from the following group:

Walnut, oak, beech wood, olive wood, robinia, ebony, fruit woods, especially cherry, apple, plum and pear.

According to the invention, it is also possible to use wood composites which can consist of mixtures of wood particles with a polymer, which are particularly suitable for the mouthpieces. When using a composite for the heads, attention should be paid to the heat resistance of the polymer used, which is familiar to a person skilled in the art.

Another form of wood composites are mouthpieces and heads assembled from individual bodies of wood and other materials such as glass, ceramics, metal, clay, polymer and the like, the contact surfaces with the user being made of wood, especially in the case of the mouthpieces.
