Definitions
- the present application relates to the field of furniture specially adapted for children and in particular provides a latch chair with an elastic grip fit.
- coupling chairs which allow a child to be seated on the edge of a table. These chairs typically have two upper arms or portions and two lower arms or portions that engage the table surface. In this way, when the child sits in the chair, the child's weight exerts a lever that keeps the chair in place.
- DE 3931549 describes a harness saddle that adapts to surfaces of different thickness.
- a frame that has a first U-shaped piece that defines two upper arms, a crossbar connected to said two upper arms and two posts that project vertically from said upper arms.
- two springs are arranged on said posts, which are connected, in turn, to corresponding lower arms.
- document US 4,586,746 describes a hitch chair that has a frame formed by two U-shaped elements, each one defining an upper arm and a lower arm, as well as two posts, each one vertically connecting each arm. upper arm with its corresponding lower arm.
- the chair also has a seat surface and a back surface connected to said U-shaped elements.
- This chair also has two fastening elements that slide along said posts. Said fasteners can be fixed in position by means of a wedge and spring mechanism, which prevents downward movement of the fasteners.
- the chair is required to withstand a series of forces, both in longitudinal and vertical directions, without yielding. The foregoing raises a problem from the technical point of view that, however, is not solved by the chairs of the state of the art. Consequently, a hitch-type chair is required that allows solving the previously stated problem.
- the present application provides a hooking chair characterized in that it comprises: a frame that has two upper arms, two lower arms, and two posts that connect an upper arm with a corresponding lower arm; a seating surface operatively coupled to said frame; a back surface operatively coupled to said frame; and two stop elements, each slidably connected to a corresponding post; wherein said stop elements are resiliently connected to said posts, such that they are pushed towards said upper arms.
- the hooking saddle is characterized in that each of said posts has a vertical slot along which its corresponding stop element slides. In a more preferred embodiment, the hooking saddle is characterized in that each of said posts has a hollow elongated shape and that said resilient connections are provided by means of springs positioned inside each of said posts.
- the hooking saddle is characterized in that each of said stop elements has a substantially triangular shape with rounded corners and that each of said stop elements also has a through hole.
- the hooking chair is characterized in that said seating surface is foldable. In another preferred embodiment, the hooking chair is characterized in that said back surface is foldable. In a preferred embodiment, the hooking chair is characterized in that each of said upper arms has a cover made of non-slip material.

- This new geometry of the hooking chair (1) has the advantage that it allows to provide four points of contact below the surface to which the chair is attached, namely, two free ends of the lower arms (4a, 4b) and two stop elements (8a, 8b). This makes it possible to withstand greater forces in a direction perpendicular to said surface. Additionally, since there is a push of said stop elements (8a, 8b) towards said upper arms (3a, 3b), the contact force, and therefore the friction, between the coupling saddle (1) and the surface a is increased. which the chair is attached to. The latter makes it possible to withstand greater forces in a direction parallel to the plane of said surface.
- arms are to be understood as structural elements projecting in some particular direction, defining a free end in the projection direction.
- both the upper arms (3a, 3b) and the lower arms (4a, 4b) project substantially forward from the back surface (7) or from the seating surface (6), respectively.

- each of said lower arms (4a, 4b) can have a cover (11 a, 11 b) made of a non-slip material at their corresponding free ends.
- the shape, dimensions and material of said caps (11 a, 11 b) do not limit the scope of the present application.
- said caps (11a, 11b) can substantially cover only the free end of each lower arm (4a, 4b).
- said covers (11 a, 11 b) can be made of a non-slip material selected from the group consisting of rubbers and silicones, without limiting the scope of the present application.
