Description
DESCRIPTION
DEVICE FOR WINDING A DEFORMABLE BODY
This invention relates to a device for winding a deformable body, of the kind specified in the preamble of the first claim.
For example, the deformable body can be a cushion, a pillow, or something else. Devices for winding deformable bodies such as cushions, pillows, mattresses, sleeping bags, and the like are currently known.
An example of such a device is described by the same applicant in the Italian patent application IT 102007901499815.
This patent application describes a flat, flexible mat that has a predominant longitudinal direction of extension and comprises stiffening elements, essentially consisting of rigid, transverse rods, therefore perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, parallel and equidistant to each other.
This mat enables you to place a pillow, or the like, on the surface thereof so that the mat and pillow can be simultaneously wound together, rolling them up in the longitudinal direction and acting, in particular, on the stiffening elements.
Said technical solution enables you to comfortably wind the pillow and keep it clean, away from contact with external elements.
The prior art described here comprises some drawbacks.
In particular, the pillow is not always wound very successfully, especially because of its deformability, which can lead to its displacement during the winding operations. In this context, the technical task underlying this invention is to devise a device for winding a deformable body capable of substantially overcoming at least some of the above-mentioned drawbacks.
In the context of said technical task, an important purpose of the invention is to
obtain a device for winding a deformable body that enables the deformable body to be perfectly wound and contained.
Another important purpose of this invention is to obtain a winding device for a deformable body that enables the deformable body to be perfectly contained.
An additional important purpose of the invention is to provide a winding device for a deformable body that is simple and economical.
The technical task and specified purposes are achieved with a winding device for a deformable body as claimed in the appended claim 1 .
Preferred technical solutions are set forth in the dependent claims.
The features and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the detailed description of preferred embodiments of the invention, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 shows a view of the winding device according to the invention in a first configuration;
Fig. 2 illustrates a view of the winding device according to the invention in a second configuration;
In this document, the measures, values, shapes and geometric references (such as perpendicularity and parallelism), when used with words like “about” or other similar terms such as “approximately” or “substantially”, are to be understood as except for measurement errors or inaccuracies due to production and/or manufacturing errors and, above all, except for a slight divergence from the value, measure, shape or geometric reference with which it is associated. For example, if associated with a value, such terms preferably indicate a divergence of no more than 10% from the value itself.
Furthermore, when terms such as “first”, “second”, “upper”, “lower”, “main” and
“secondary” are used, they do not necessarily identify an order, relationship priority or relative position, but they can simply be used to distinguish different components more clearly from one another.
Unless otherwise stated, the measurements and data reported in this text shall be considered as performed in International Standard Atmosphere ICAO (ISO 2533:1975).
With reference to the figures, the number 1 indicates, as a whole, the winding device according to the invention.
It is designed to enable a deformable body 10 to be contained and wound. Said deformable body 10 may consist of a cushion, a pillow, a mattress, a sleeping bag, a camping mattress, and the like. The deformable body 10 is preferably a pillow. The deformable body 10 has a perimetral portion 10a that, in the case of the pillow, consists of the perimeter of the main extension plane of the pillow itself. Pillows are, in fact, generally deformable bodies equipped with a main extension surface and, in general, define a basically rectangular shape along said main extension surface. The winding device 1 comprises, preferably, a flexible membrane 2 that has a predominant longitudinal direction of extension 2a and a transverse direction 2b, perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The flexible membrane 2 defines two ends 2c along the longitudinal direction 2a.
The flexible membrane 2 may be made of flexible polymer material or fabric, or something else, and may comprise a multitude of layers.
The flexible membrane 2 can have a basically rectangular shape. In this case, the ends 2c are the short sides of the rectangle. The size of the flexible membrane 2 in the longitudinal direction 2a is preferably in the order of a metre, while the size of the flexible membrane 2 in the transverse direction 2b is preferably in the order of
10 cm or one metre.
The winding device 1 preferably comprises, in addition, rigid elements 3 extending in the transverse direction 2b and fastened to the flexible membrane 2. The flexible elements 3 are preferably rod elements and, more preferably, have a circular or oval normal section, and are preferably flat. In addition, the flexible elements 3 are preferably equidistant. There are, preferably, between 5 and 20 flexible elements 3, more preferably between 5 and 15.
The rigid elements 3 preferably comprise, in addition, rigid end elements 3a, arranged at at least one end 2c, and, preferably, at just one of the ends 2c, of the flexible membrane 2. In particular, if the flexible membrane 2 is basically rectangular, the rigid end elements 3a are arranged along the short sides of the perimeter of the rectangle. The rigid end elements 3a preferably have a larger cross- section than the other rigid elements 3 that are not rigid end elements.
The rigid elements 3 are preferably fastened to the flexible membrane 2 by means of gluing or sewing. In particular, the flexible membrane 2 can define seats for the rigid elements 3 between two overlapping layers.
The rigid elements 3 basically make the flexible membrane 2 suitable for being rolled only along said longitudinal direction 2a, thus defining local rotations along transverse axes, as also described and illustrated in the Italian patent application IT 102007901499815.
The winding device 1 preferably comprises, in addition, fastening means 4 for the deformable body 10, designed to fasten part of the perimetral portion 10a of the deformable body 10 to the flexible membrane 2. In particular, said perimetral portion 10a can consist of a short side of the pillow or another element.
The fastening means 4 are preferably arranged at at least one end 2c. The fastening
means 4 are preferably arranged at just one end but could also be included at both ends 2c.
In addition, the fastening means 4 preferably consist of a housing 40 for part of the perimetral portion 10a of the deformable body 10.
The housing 40 preferably consists of a pocket made of a flexible elastic material, for example a portion in elastic fabric, or it can be gusseted, or something else. As a consequence, the housing 40 preferably collapses on itself if it is not engaged by the deformable body 10.
In addition, when the fastening means 4 are designed to fasten a deformable body 10 consisting of a pillow, the pocket is suitable for containing the perimetral portion 10a consisting of a short side of the pillow.
The operation of the winding device 1 described above in structural terms, is as follows.
The winding device 1 is used, in particular, for transporting a deformable body 10. The deformable body 10 that needs to be wound is, in part, fastened to the device 1 using the fastening means 4. In particular, a part of the perimetral portion 10a is inserted into the housing 40. More specifically, the short side of the pillow is inserted in the pocket.
Once the deformable body is fastened, the winding device 1 , together with the deformable body 10, can be wound along the longitudinal axis 2a, making use of the rigid elements 3, as also described in the Italian patent application IT 102007901499815.
The winding device 1 according to the invention achieves important advantages.
In fact, it enables the deformable body 10 to be perfectly wound and contained, the body remaining fastened to the flexible membrane 2 and not sliding or slipping along
the same.
The winding device 1 enables, as a consequence, the deformable body 10 to be perfectly contained, the body remaining contained inside the winding device 1 when rolled up. Finally, the winding device 1 is simple and economical.
In this context, all details can be replaced by equivalent elements, and the materials, shapes, and dimensions may be any materials, shapes, and dimensions.
