DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Figure 1 shows the perspective view of adjacent connector systems (10), seating module front connector (11), and seating module rear connector (12), and backrest module connector (13) of the seating module in an illustrative embodiment of the present invention, wherein two modules are joined together by means of three connectors despite all three components have the same connector type. The backrest module (40) is engaged to the seating module (30) via sliding connector systems (20), a back-seat sliding connector (Hettich slider) (21). The right arm module (50), and left arm module (60) are connected to the joint of the seating (30) and backrest module (40) after the backrest module (40) is positioned. This connection is achieved by means of an adjacent connector system (10). The operation principle of the connector system involves; when two modules are positioned adjacent to one another, pins (100) on one of the modules engage the holes located on the other module and the connector system is locked by pushing the lock arm (110) forward after the pins (100) are fully engaged to the holes. After the right arm module (50), left arm module (60), backrest module (40), and seating module (30) are locked to each other, legs (70) are screwed to the holes located underneath the seating module (30).
The aforementioned connector system consists of a male piece (90) and a female piece (80). The male piece (90) comprises at least two large holes at the position where the rivets on the female piece (80) will be inserted, a sheet metal that has at least four small holes for screws, and a pin (100) welded onto the sheet metal. There is a 4.4 mm notch at the position where the pin (100) is connected to the sheet metal, in order to perform the locking function of the lock arm (110) by means of the reciprocating motion thereof. Said female piece (80) comprises at least 2 large holes so that rivets located thereon may be inserted, a sheet metal that has at least 4 little holes for screws, and a lock arm (110) riveted onto the sheet metal. Said lock arm (110) is capable of performing reciprocating motion on the horizontal axis. There is a gap located at the center of the arm. The wide section (11) at the center of the gap has wide dimensions so as to ensure that said pin (100) may be inserted readily. When the lock arm (110) is locked (pushed forward), the narrow section (112) of the gap coincides with the notch of the pin (100), thereby locking the female piece (80) and the male piece (90). Shippable, customizable modular sofa, and connector system that enables tool free assembly and that allows for creating various sofa combinations by bringing different modules together by means of the disassembly feature, characterized in that; it comprises a seating module (30) that is the seating portion of the assembled- disassembled sofa, backrest module (40) that is the assembled-disassembled backrest module, right arm module (50) and left arm module (60) that are the assembled-disassembled arm resting modules; and adjacent connector system (10) that allows for assembling seating module (30), backrest module (40), right arm module (50), and left arm module (60) by being locked via the pin (100), and for disassembling these modules by means of the reverse motion.
